Hi girls. Just dropped in for a minute. We had a shocker of a night last night, I'm guessing Ben doesn't like garlic! He's just stirring again now for a feed, but I thought I'd pop in to let you all know we're still around and doing really well - apart from last night
Hopefully I'll be back to spend more time in here soon
Went shopping today...both the kids did really well which was nice. I'm just starting to shop for things for Louis' single bed - I can't believe it!!
Danni - Wow at 400ml!! Thats amazing. Know wonder he's growing so much! We usually just bring a snacky thing to eat each..maybe check with Nikki though??
Christy - Sorry to hear your sick - Hope you feel better soon! Have a nice rest!
Jen - Sounds like a gorgeous day! I'm finding it harder to get out in the fresh air now that its cooling down but I really need to make more of an effort. I get so lethargic being in the house all the time...
Kellie - Yeah at Lilys doing so well! Sounds like you had a great day - Yeah on the hand me downs! Isn't it amazing how you feel you've achieved heaps when you get the house tidy, have a shower etc...compared to what we used to be able to achieve anyway!!!! LOL.
Hehe no sorry guys...Mason doesnt drink 400ml in one go. When I give him EBM, he normally takes 160ml maximum. I guess I got so much as I missed expressing over night.
all good here - but had a near disaster this morning. still a little shaken up by it. I had just fed Mimi and put her into her bassinette in her room while I went to the toilet. I have the bassinette in the cot to keep it safe from Ella and dog etc. anyway, suddenly there is a scream from the room and I go in there, pants around my ankles and Ella has somehow toppled the bassinette over on its side in the cot. Poor Mimi had rolled out and was stuck between the bars of the cot and the bassinette. I nearly died. I had so many tears for what could have potentially been a disaster. I felt so sick. we are putting a latch up high on the door so I can safely put her in there without Ella being able to open the door. there I was thinking it was the safest place for her to be for one minute while I was in the bathroom and that's what happens. it's taken me all day to start to get over it. poor Ella too, just wanting to "uddle" (as in cuddle) mimi and I was so furious. phew, anyway, had to get that out. hope you are all well. sounds like all is good out there from your posts.
Oh Gigi - big hugs!! These things happen...I'm so glad that everything is ok though. Geez it makes me feel bad because I just go and do stuff and Dylan is not put out of reach of Louis...
Popping in and out. Great to read that you're babies are growing and feeding and sleeping.
Gigi - what a scare for you!
We had one too the other day I had Matt in the pram and Al sitting on the toddler chair on top and we were out walking. Al chucked a toy car and I go to pick it up and the combination of Al leaning forward and me bending down still holding the pram, brought the whole pram down! Matt was squashed down the bottom of the pram, Al was still strapped into his chair but on the ground and my hand was stuck under the pram! I began freaking out a bit because the kids were crying and we're all stuck on the footpath. Luckily a lady walking nearby came and rescued us - a saint! Everyone is ok, just grazed knuckles on one of my hands grr at the pram, which I suspected may not be able to balance properly with Al being about 13 kgs and the babe about 5.
We're beginning to get into a routine here, some days are great others are a bit all over the shop. But basically Matt is on a morning nap a big lunchtime sleep and an arvo nap these days. He is in bed around 8 and up around 6am..but I hope to eventually convince him to get up later. DS1 is also an early riser and it is difficult for DH and I at that time of the day!
I have my checkup with the doctor tomorrow.
And, we've booked our trip to Australia, we'll be leaving in 3 weeks!! We have also booked a week on Koh Samui on the way home. Should be good to have a change of scene and have some quality time with the whole family.
Evening all,
Thanks girls for your support and reassurance that these things do happen! Hugs back.
Caro - yes, Mimi is fine thankyou babe - a bit of a shock for her too but no real harm done. That's the frustrating thing about doing all I can to make her safe and then that happens! Anyway, over now and all ok. Wow on Michael hitting the big 5kg! Mimi hit 4 and I am really pleased....great that he is doing so well.
Kristie - thanks babe - all ok now but a bit of a shock.
Deb - sounds like you had a shock the other day too! Glad no damage was done. Your trip sounds great - and Koh Samui at the end will be divine! so it sounds like Matt is going through the night now - fantastic! My DS1 Ella did it at early too - 7 weeks - fingers crossed for Mimi but I am not holding my breath at this stage!
Having an early night tonight after my stressful day. Although my lovely next door neighbour took Ella for an hour this afternoon to play with her grandson and they had a ball - I got a hot cup of tea and had a nice quiet feed with Mimi - a real pleasure!
Hope everyone else is well - disgirl - great to hear from you!
Dylans so unsettled again tonight...it's so tiring!!! I also feel bad for him as he seems in pain from wind or something....grrr!
Caro - Yeah on the medication working! Wow - he's starting to get big now!!
Deb - How Scary!! I've got Louis in the toddler seat as well...I better be careful because I'm really lazy with strapping them in! Glad they were ok - ouch about your hand though! Wow - what a big holiday! How exciting!
Gigi - How nice to get a break this arvo. Hope you get a good sleep in. I'm starting to feel the need for a break...funny though - I feel like I need more of a break from Dylan then Louis. Louis is starting to want more of my attention after patiently waiting 6 weeks!! He's not jealous of Dylan as such but just wants his mummy back. I think I may arrange to go to the park or something with him on the weekend and we can have a run around! (if the weathers ok...it's getting pretty cold now!)
OK - I better try and get some sleep as well! Sweet Dreams!
Nah he's not going through the night without a feed yet..sorry it sounded misleading. He has 2 night feeds still around 11pm and 3am..but we do it in the dark and he doesn't wake.
Hi everyone! Great to catch up on everyones news. I have my six week check today - eek! Gives me a chance to complain about the hemarroids (sp?), sore nipples and chronic back pain. Dont know what I did but can hardly move and my back muscles constantly spasm! Very hard to bf as well.
Went to the community health clinic yesterday and had little (not!) Iggy weighed. He is now 5.42kg and 62 cms! Can you believe it! What a little chubster.
We had a pretty good sleep night. Feed at 9pm, 2am, 6am. He is now napping again but Ben is home so is watching over him while I get some other stuff done.
I am launching a big fundraising appeal today for orangutans and as an ambassador we have a gorgeous young boy with cerebral palsy. He was offered a Starlight wish and said he just wants to help save orangutans. Isn't that amazing! I feel so inspired but him.
Gigi and Deb - I know how you guys feel. We haven't had anything like that happen but it constantly does in my head. Am so paranoid about dropping him or tripping with him in my arms etc. Especially paranoid about those little soft spots on their head.
Anyway I better run. Am so hungry and want to take the opportunity while little Igs is asleep. Craving pastries but trying to remember I havent lost any extra weight since the birth! Have a great day!
We had a great night!! After being unsettled all arvo/night I was worried but I fed him at 9.40pm and I was in bed by 10.15!! Then he was up at 2.45 for a feed and back down to 6.45am...I brought him into bed with me then and we dozed for another 45min together! I wish every night was like that!
Krys - Good luck at your appt! Wow what a big boy - I think Dylan would be similar to that size - maybe a little smaller...He'd be going into 00 soon then! Wow good for you for doing the fundraising! Thats fantastic!
Ooh I know the feeling about trying to eat well...I've given up and am hoping that starting back at the gym next week will make up for my diet! hehehe.
Danni - What a disappointment...that doesn't sound quite right???
Gigi, that's scary with ella and mimi's mishap. Poor little ella, she just wanted to give her sister some love! And you were trting to be so careful. I know I worry if I go to the toilet and Lily's out in the lounge room alone and we have no animals or other kids for me to worry over, LOL!
Caro, I am so happy for you that Michael is growing so well, especially after such a hard time. It's all working out for you. You must be so proud of yourself for sticking things out and being so patient, good on you!! Hope his head is ok. His teddy sounds very useful let us know if it works!
Deb, you lucky thing going on such a great holiday! You're brave going with two bubs though, I don't know if I could do it! I'm worrying about going to Queensland to see inlaws in a few months, and I'm not bf and Lily will be older hehehe!
Mattias certainly is growing well! I thought Lily was big at 4.8kg and 58cm!
Krisalyss, good on you for doing the charity thingy when you have so much else to think about with a new bub! I don't think I could do it. I can barely concernatrate on one thing at a time these days!LOL!
Ok gotta go the princess is calling...
Kellie
i did start typing thismorning hence the 'goodmorning all'!!
Hi girls, another spare few minutes to pop in. It's not Ben that's keeping me busy - it's me! LOL I have my six week checkup this afternoon, then we're off to see my nephew for his b'day, then we're going to a nutrimetics party. We've already been to the park today too!
Danni, Definitely go back to your doc or see a new one. I'm really not looking forward to being poked and prodded, especially the PAP, but it must be done.
Caro, woohoo on Michael topping kgs! Ben has a lumpy head too. There is a lump out the back of his head and one on the left side. The MCHN said it's fine, and it's actually improved a wee bit as he's grown. He has a big head though LOL
Gigi, it must have been an awful scare for you with Ella and Mimi! I'm glad you're all okay.
Deb, what an awful scare for you too! Lucky that lady came to help.
Krysalas, what a big boy!!!
Kris, I didn't quite understand your post...is Dylan in 00s? Ben's just gone into them with his grosuit thingys.
We visited the MCHN yesterday and my boy is growing in leaps and bounds! He's now 4.65kgs, so he's put on nearly 1.5kgs since birth! He's also 56cms after being 50cms at birth. The nurse was amazed at his neck strenght and head control. He moves it freely and does not need support at all anymore, and has been like this for over a week. It's been strong since pre-birth since he actually rotated his head AS he was being born, while he was still half in the birth canal! Let me tell you, that was NOT a pleasant experience!!! LOL
I'm leaving Ben for the first time tomorrow night and I'm already suffering seperation anxiety! He'll be in safe hands with my sis while I go to the footy (nephew is playing at half time Auskick at the Swans), but I've only been away from him for a max of 45mins so far. I'm sure I'll run my mobile bill up while we're at the game
yes it's long time missing me. I find it so hard to keep up with you girls - mind you I tend to not be home alot as Luke seems to be more settled when we are out and about. He had his 6 week check up yesterday and is a big 5.4kg. The thrush has cleared up on him but i still have a couple of white spots so still treating the both of us. Off for my 6 week check up (well 7 week) on monday. Mark's away for work until sat arvo and then he is off to melbourne next weekend to go see the demons play collingwood with his dad. I think I may have to book a weekend away from the boys but I doubt I'll be able to leave Luke
Well i would do personals but have washing to hang out and before the little man wakes for his next feed
Dylans been sooo unsettled at the moment! Does anyone have the wonder weeks book?? Is 6 weeks a wonder week or something??? He seems to be napping and grizzly through the day and especially in the early hours of the night until he has his final feed aroun 8-9 or 10pm and then sleeps really well only waking for one feed and settling quite easily...
Kellie - Hello!
Disgirl - LOL at being so busy! No Dylans not in 00's just yet...but I don't think it will be long - he's basically grown out of the bonds suits and he's just fitting into his other brand of 000's. Thats fantastic he's doing so well!!! I'm not meant to go the mchn for another 2 weeks and it's killing me!!! I sooo want to know how he's growing!!! His 4 week check up he was 4.6kg and 54cm but he's sooo had a growth spurt! I'm sure you'll be fine tomorrow but I know it can be an anxious time leaving your bubba! Try and have fun though!
Iona - Glad your doing so well! Luke sounds like he's growing really well! Glad the thrush is clearing.
