Grrrr.......computer at my post yet again, darn thing!

Had a great night, Hazel slept from 7 til 3.45 then til 6.45 then in bed with me til 8.30. I love it how she'll happily snooze and suckle with me in the mornings, must take after me because DH is a wake up/get up kind of guy!

We had a nice shop yesterday but mainly bought Hazel stuff lol! I did buy a new nappy bag on ebay though (which arrived this morning! Yay!) It's an Asian silk brocade one, deep turquoise with embroidered dragonflies. Sooo beautiful and really different so I'm a happy girl!

Kel- Poor little Lily, what a rough patch she's going through. Hopefully those teeth will pop through soon and things will calm down. I was worried about leaving Hazel at the gym creche too but she was fine and loved watching the other children. Also I am just around the corner and they know to come and get me if she's upset. Don't know how she'll go during this 'I want my Mummy' phase though as I haven't been for a week or two, naughty naughty!

Kris- Good to have you back- seems weird when you're not about! Sorry to hear you and the boys have been ill but glad that you're all feeling better. Well done on the weight loss- I want to reach 60kg too b ut still have about 7kg to go. It is beginning to come off though, slowly slowly.

Melissa- the 'Wonder Weeks' book is really great. I am seriously considering buying it because it has to go back to the library soon. It's just great to know what's happening and why and it's easier to get through the difficult days/weeks when you that it's only for so long and what the outcome will be!

Erin- Wow! Charlie is growing well! I will have Hazel weighed next week at her 4 month check but I think she will be closer to 6kg!

Deb- Sounds like Matt is loving his tucker! I know they say it's not neccesarily true but do you think he's sleeping better with a tummy full of food?

Danni- Hope poor little Mason is feeling better and that you had a great time on your trip.

Well, Hazy is sleeping on my lap so I'm going to try ands get her into her cot for a decent sleep again and try and get some bits and pieces done. Am meeting up with some Mums that I met at the HC later this afternoon. Boy, my week is filling up what with work and social engagements. The housework is suffering as a consequence but I DON'T CARE!!! hee hee x x

    Hi,
We just got back from the shops DRENCHED! I slipped the umbrella under the pram when we went in and must have knocked it out with the new packets of nappies so when we left the shopsit was gone! I only took cash (my new strategy) so I only had 5 bucks left after shopping and couldnt buy another LOL!! Of course Beau had his waterproof protective cover over his pram so he was toasty! Anyway....

Deb - dinner time sounds pretty great around at yours...

Kel - Sorry Lily is so unsettled - surely after all those short sleeps she has a big one coming up? Thanks too about the book (and Christy) I might have a look at Borders and see if they have it?

Erin - Charlie and Beau are both "bonnie babies" as my mum would say - I just weighed him with the nurse at the chemist and he is 6.9kg - he was dressed but his nappy was barely full when we got home so it must be close. Your class sounds cool - there is a baby gym up in Newtown that I want to go to with Beau to actually meet some other mums face to face. I emailed someone at shop til you drop and I was remembering the thing as a bouncer but it is really a hammock! For sleeping! I want a nice looking jumper as our house is tiny we will have to stare at it!

Mel - Does Olivia push with her legs yet? Like when you hold her up eye to eye in your lap? If she does I say go for it. Beau kicks all the time so I know he will love a jumper but little Olivia has had a tiny bit less practice hey? The way you say "cooked chicken!" too funny. They have so much energy now, Beau can wiggle out of his chair I am looking for the next option of entertainment!

Danni - sorry to hear Mason is in the wars

Kristie - awesome catch up post! Gee you left no stone unturned in that one!

Christy - glad your job is good and paying you to supplement your shopping habit - you seem to have Hazel's sleep patterns sorted out - I hope I get there soon. It Doesnt matter how he sleeps in the day - he always ends up going down for his big sleep at around 5-6pm, i dont want to string him out till 7/8ish so he gets over tired and I dont like waking him beacause he is tired and it seems selfish just so he wakes later IYKWIM?

I am working tomorrow and we are going to mums for the weekend so no posts probably until Monday - this one was long enough for three days anyway....have a great weekend, hopefully some DH's are home and can take some pressure off.

    xxx

Wow, you're all so good at doing the personals...I guess you've had a longer time to get to know each other but I have trouble remembering which mum has which kid!

Logan's off to the health center next week for his monthly weigh in and look over. I'm guessing he'll be around 6.6 or so but that's purely a guess. He was 6.3 at 3 months and 1 week. I think he's about middle ofthe range when I compare his size to other kids his age. I have a couple of friends with delicate, dainty little babies and as many with big porkers(!), so I can see around me there's an acceptable range of normal. One friends little girl is 4 weeks older than Logan and is just coming up on 5kgs and another mum at the baby health center has a baby born the same day as Logan who is 8½kgs! All 3 of these babies are fully breast fed so it can't be a formula vs boob issue. To me, he just doesn't look fat at all. He has the baby chins and thighs of course but I think he looks quite lean without looking thin...I think it's a happy medium and besides, he decides how much to eat and when so it must be right for him. (check out my webshots link below to see some new shots of the little wonder if you have time)

So the freezer had carrots, peas, broccholi and cauliflower in it now...I'm getting so ahead of myself! When we go for the weigh in next week, we also have a mum-gathering on introducing solids. It'll mostly be old news for me but it's nice to get together and be social all the same and you can never assume that you have nothing to learn.

Back to breast feeding....I think it's great...albeit really tough in the beginning, but I think it's a positive thing and I don't have any odd feelings about doing it but I do sometimes still marvel at the fact that my body is making his food! I think it's bizarre, but not in a negative way! I felt the same way about being pregnant too. I'd read those 'Your pregnancy this week' websites and be incredulous that all this was going on inside me! Do any of you others sometimes wonder how on earth it all happened? Silly, isn't it!!!

    Hi!

Hope you're all well...we had a great night last night!! Dylan slept from 8pm-1.15am without waking! woohoo - then I fed him at 2.30am and then he woke up once at 6ish when dh settled him and then not again until 7.30am! Woohoo! I still feel so tired today though...I suppose one good night doesn't mean you've caught up on all your sleep.
Had Dylans mchn checkup today. I really thought he'd be longer but it seems he's a bit below average now...He's 62cm and 6.4kg!
Gave him a tiny bit of rice cereal today which he had a nibble of, Gave him a suck on some apple though which he Loves!! Cried when I took it away!

Danni - So sorry to hear poor little Mason's so sick! Hope he gets better soon!

Melissa - I've put Dylan in the jolly jumper...haven't for a while though - must try and do it again over the weekend. I don't blame you for not doing it while her hips are fixing...Hope you enjoyed your dinner! Thats great it was cooked for you! Yeah on getting some me time as well...I know you asked Kel but just thought I'd let you know that when I go to the gym I put the boys into the creche there..so it's only for an hour or so...

Erin - What a big boy!! Thats great! I think I just breed small bubbas! LOL!

Deb - thats great Matt's enjoying his food! I'm heading out to buy Louis a booster for the chair this week so Dylan can start sitting with us at dinner...He hates not being part of the action and just grizzles until I pick him up!
I agree - I know Louis was waking for a night feed until around 7-8 months I think...he didn't start sleeping through without any wake ups until around 9 months though and even then it wasn't every night...Oh the joys! hehehe.

Kel - Poor Lily having such a rough time with her immunisations..I hope she settles soon...I've booked Dylan in for Monday arvo and we've got Tuesday at home in case he doesn't go to well...
I'm certain that he probably would sleep better without a dummy but it's just not going to happen unfortunately...he does spit it out after he's asleep but when he wakes he wants it again...I've tried patting him but he won't resettle without it...
I'm sure you'll lose your weight! It's definitely the best way to just go slowly - more likely to stay off then!!
Hope you get a good rest in the next few days!

Christy - Yeah on shopping - it's so much fun! I'm addicted to ebay! I have got some really good buys on it...I'm also selling ex dance costumes at the moment as well - so gorgeous little fairy dresses and such...
Hope you had a nice arvo! As long as my house is tidy I'm happy - the housework doesn't get done nearly often enough but if it's tidy I don't notice it as much - LOL!

Jen - Sorry to hear you've got drenched - bugger! Let me know if you have success at borders with the book...I've heard that it's stopped being printed which sounds ridiculous for such a popular book...I think we need to start a petition if thats the case...hehe.
Hope work goes quickly for you and you have a great weekend!

Adele - I can completely relate! I think we're all so clever to have grown bubbas and it's our milk that is making them grow so big! (no offence to ff!) Sounds like you're enjoying every minute which is fantastic. LOL on the food in the freezer - hehe!

K - gotta go! Chat later!

hey guys...seems Mason is a little better but the doctor rang today and MUST see us tomorrow. She has his urine results back. It seems there must be more to it than the basic infection. Hope its nothing serious.

hope al the bubbas sleep beautifully tonight xx

Quick one to report, we had a nurse visit today and Matt now weighs 8kgs! My little piggy.
He has doubled his birthweight. And looking at the graph he has stayed spot on his line of expected average growth for babies born at that birth wieght for 4 months now. The nurse said she hasn't seen that before (and she's about to retire next year). All good though that he has passed his exams. We are so proud...:-)

ETA : Danni - it could explain his irritability if he has an infection. I'm sure that if it was serious she wouldn't want to wait to see you. When the blood results of Alex's chest infection came back we had to report to hospital immediately no questions (he was 9 months old and had pneumococcal)

LOL...I was just about to message & tell you I have looked in the mag 10x and can't find it,he,he......I was thinking I was going mad missing it each time. I'll be getting one for Charlie soon, he pushes up with his legs & is always trying to sit up now. When ever he's in the pram or bouncer he tries to sit up..I can't believe it & he's just discovered he can lift up his legs & hang onto them. My cousin was telling me today how her DD (first child) crawled at 4.5 months....WTF. That would be Charlie in a couple weeks, she laughs now as it was her first she didn't realise it was so early. She breeds very advanced bubs, no2 is almost 8months already crawling & walking along hanging onto things...amazing. Well better go, will check back in later - have to help DH make jelly shots for the wkend.

    Howdy doody.

My wonderful, gorgeous daughter had the best night ever last night! 7 til 3.45, a good 2 boobie feed then down again til 7.45!!! What a treasure! Lets hope it becomes a regular thing.

She also went to sleep by herself in her cot yesterday for the first time! I fed her to sleep then went to put her down and she did her usual *bing* eyes open trick, but I decided to tuck her in and leave her there just for a bit anyway because I had to do a few things. She grizzled half heartedly for a couple of minutes and when I checked on her five minutes later she was sound asleep. Yahoo! I think somewhere there we have turned the corner with sleep. Yippee!

I think I'm going to hold off the solids for the forseeable future because she seems very happy and content on booby juice right now and I don't want to rock the boat..........

Danni- boy I hope Mason's ok?

Erin- Hazel is desperate to sit up too, she strains like anything to prise her body up but isn't strong enough yet! Jelly shots! Been awhile since I've had one of them! What's the occasion?

Deb- 8kg! What a strapping lad!

Kris- Yay on the good nights sleep! Don't worry about Dylan being below 'average', he is healthy and happy and thriving that's more important!

Adele- it never ceases to amaze me at our body's capacity to create a human life and then nurture it with milk, actual milk, that we produce ourselves! I am loving bf too and want to carry on for as long as possible. Hopefully Hazel won't be one of those babies who decide that they've had enough at an early age!

Jen- bummer that you got wet. Good idea just taking cash shopping- I really will start to save my pay from now on but it was nice to indulge this week! Hope you have an ok day at work and a fab weekend

Melissa- any more news on when Olivia will have her harness off for good?

Well, I'm just going to put Hazel down for a sleep (hopefully a decent one) and then put a colour in my hair and put on a mud mask!

Big smiles for Mums and Bubs

Well I'm feeling like screaming at the moment, why not, Pip does it all the time. I just wish he'd STOP!

He's with his Dad downstairs, and I can still hear him screaming. He's had a feed, a change, a bath, another change, an offer of boobie (and we're bottle feeding, so I'm that desperate) and won't shut up. His temp is 36.4deg and he won't chew his cooled teething rings. I'm about to Panadol him if he doesn't settle soon. I've got a headache, his dad has a headache and the animals are all here hiding with me. I do love him, but I love him more when he's asleep. And quiet. Quietly asleep even!

    Danni - how's Mason?

Sorry all, that's about the extent of my personals, I just had to vent.

Remember - breathe in, two, three, four; hold two three four; out two three four and without two three four.

    (sighs)

    Hi!

Well after having one good night the other day we're back to rubbish night sleeps...aaahh - Oh well can't last forever...
Dylan and I had big giggles today - it was sooo cute! I was tickling him and then from him laughing I started laughing and then he was just laughing at me! Sooo gorgeous. He also starting doing little push ups today when he was on his tummy!! He's such a strong little boy!!

Deb - Wow - what a big boy!! Thats great he's going so well!

Erin - Jelly shots?? Wow!! I must say I could really do with a glass of wine...hehe

Christy - Yeah on such a good night! I'm very jealous!! Yeah on the colour and mud mask...gosh I haven't done anything like that in soooo long!

Iona - Good to hear from you! Glad your well and Luke too!!

Kaz - Big big hugs!!! You poor thing...I hope he settles for you soon! Good idea to get away for a bit to regain your composure...

    Morning all!

Kaz- hope things have settled down for you? Is this happening regularly or was it just a bad day/night? How are your pooches dealing with having bubs around (apart from hiding from the screaming). Our two have been brilliant and so sweet, thankfully. When Hazel is lying down having a kick on the floor, Kaya gets her toys and sits down next to Haze and plays too! Very cute. Must say my tolerance of dog hair has gone down though.......

Kris- boo to a bad night. I recon it will settle down soon though. IKWYM about ebay, I love it!! Looking for a jolly jumper at the mo...

Danni- what's the news on Mason? Hope he's lots better.

Well we had a pretty good night again. She was up for a quick top up at 10.15 then slept til 3.45 again, it's almost like clockwork. Then in to bed with us at 5.45 til 8. She had a good chat with her Daddy and is desperately trying to blow raspberries. Too cute, such concerntration, and amazing watching her really try to do something!

Have great saturdays, lots of love x x

    Afternoon ladies.

Well it was just yesterday, today he's been a little angel. He's asleep at the mo - no idea what caused it all. Suspect he's teething. Also my parents were visiting, so our "routines" got all mixed up.

Christie - yay on the dogs - my bluey just keeps an eye on Pip and the lab gives walk-by licks *groan*. The cats love him though, they'll jump onto my lap if I'm cuddling him and will lie on the floor next to him.

Kris - Pushups! How cute - you should video it!

Danni - any news on Mason? Thanks for the tips, he did have a little red bum and we've now bepantham'd it solidly.

Anyhows, I'm going to try to vacuum.

hey guys, mason is heaps better thanks. he needed to get a different antibiotic for another infection type that they found in his urine.

He is now not sleeping well at night though We have gone from sleeping through the night (10-12 hours straight) to waking ever 2 or 3 hours. im exhausted. I have no idea how to get him back into sleeping well.

Also he is about to outgrow his basinette and we need to put him into the cot. I am worried about disturbing him again. grrr
