hey guys, for the past 2 nights mason has been sleeping initially for 6 hours, (8pm-2am) then every hour and a half until about 6:30/7am.
He is FEEDING every time he wakes up but goes straght back to sleep. I guess it could be worse.
Im just gunna have to start going to bed at 8 when he does! lol
Kristie: our playgroup were looking at doing fundraisers. Does the bodyshop do parties where instead of free product you can take the money option instead? Find out for us please. Although we are pretty far from you
Danni - I'm pretty sure that The Body Shop would not let you do a cash fundraiser...however you could always do a party and then auction/raffle off the products you get for free/or at half price!
Wow at all that feeding - you must be buggered! I'm tired just getting up to throw a dummy in! hehe.
Although after his crying for his dad last night he actually slept really really well! Woke up once around 11pm ish for a dummy and then not again untl his feed at 2.45am - then I put him down and he slept til 6.35! Thats the best in weeks. I feel bad though cos he was probalby exhausted from the crying...I'm thinking he loves his mummy just a bit too much! hehehe. Guess I"m going to have to ride it out until he's bigger. The thing is it's so much better for him as he wakes up all smiling and laughing rather than waking up like he's frightened with big cries...oh who know's???
Gotta run - got to get the kids organised - Louis has gymbaroo this morning! Chat later!
Morning! bub is STILL in bed...12.5 hours. i think he is just lazy! not good for my boobs but! freezer is getting filled with milk but.
Kaz- i thought that sleeps in the day would affect his night time sleep (in some way) but they don't really seem too. yesterday he had hardly any sleep and has sleep all this time and the night before he slept for 12 hours after having several sleeps during the day. i like league his dad likes both but is obsessed with rugby (bloody all black!) as he is a maori. why do you ask? i have the 4 month jabs next wednesday...i hated the 2 montho nes i nearly cried! he hated me for it but luckily as he is on the boob i could put him straight on he and he was sweet.
anyhow i'm going to get him up. this is getting silly!
hope this rain is falling for you wherever you are
Hi All,
Just on the sleep thing. Olivia is doing pretty good. I put her down last night at 9pm and she woke at 6am for a feed and went back down til 830am. Shes been doing that for a while, just one night feed, usually a bit earlier than 6am. When she was first born up until about 14 weeks she was waking every 2 hours for a feed. Am so glad shes decided she can sleep properly.
Heres some good sleeping vibes to all of you.mmmwwwaaa
Well take care, I am about to go shopping for Olivias first pair of bathers
Love Melissa
Hey guys, things here are a bit horrible ATM, I'm going downhill fast & poor DH is on NIGHT SHIFT again ahhhhhhhhh, always on night shift!!! Not sure what's wrond with Charlie, thought it could be teeth but can't feel any lumps & gums aren't red. He's up every half hour or so over night & crying all the time - this has been going on for nearly a week & I've had enough. I wish I knew what was wrong so I could help the poor little fella & poor DH I'm taking it out on him. I think I'm about at breaking point, it's times like these I wish we'd not chosen to move so far away from our Family.
Greenfern, YAY on the 12.5hr sleep, oh how I'd love some sleep.
Danni, going to bed early that's what I've had to start doing. I have an early dinner whilst DH is still home then not long after Charlie is in bed sleeping I go to bed too - or I'd be lucky to get an hours sleep.
I've been offered some part time work that I'd really love to take on but have been on the waiting list for Childcare since before Charlie was born & still doesn't look like I'll be getting a spot. Oh well, next time.
Erin - Have you seen the Wonder Weeks books? Cause at around 19 weeks or so they go through a really stormy period, that could be what's happening. Or have you tried a little panadol at night for him? That's really made a difference here, I have no idea if Pip's teething or not, his gums aren't red but he's been biting everything, the panadol just helps him sleep. And me too. Or is there casual child care at your local community centre? Ours has 3 hour blocks which allow you to go home and sleep for a little, its great.
I thought we had been through our stormy patch, but knowing my luck this is prob another one...YAY. Oh how I wish our Childcare Centre would do that, I've had Charlie on the waiting list since before he was born & I'm not getting any closer to the top - it's just so hard with DH on night shift, this always happens then. Poor DH got told off when he got to work for not finishing a job before he left this morn, all because I was in such a state & he wanted to rush home & help. He exp things to his boss & he was good about it - oh well, chin up - nothing some choc wont fix!!! LOL (don't need it).
Lately his eyes have been really red, constant rubbing of them & a really snotty blocked nose, thought he could be reacting to something - only things to change lately are starting solids & our washing powder, that might sound silly but I've always had sensitive skin & just used the same one forever, but saving cash we got a cheaper one on sale. So i'm halting the solids & changing back washing powder just to see what happens, I'll give anything a go - he's waking just about every hr or more at night. Oh well we have needles tomorrow morn, that should make for a nice day, not.
Anywho, on a good note we might have sold my car which will be great if all goes through - then we are not paying off two & rego, insurance & so on. Need to save as we are looking at investing in another house. I've also been offered work one day a week at a good rate so happy bout that also, ooooh & i've joined a basketball team - haven't played in 6yrs but love the game.
Hope everyone & bubs are all well.
Can anyone suggest (think there has been before) a sleeping bag cheaper than a "grobag", they look great but so very expensive. I've been borrowing one lately but really need to get our own & will have to buy online, so far all I can find are the grobags.
Hi girls,
I have been reading the threas, but too lazy to make any entries. Tonight I'm too tired, so just a quicky...
We're doing ok, though had a pretty grumpy day today, Lily just would not let me put her down. Have brought some farex but I am yet to try it. Sleeping has been ok. Day sleeps are back to 45mins again, night sleeps still up and down, some good nights some crappy. At least two wake ups though. And usually 6- 6.30 wake ups...grrrr!!
Erin I have a bonds sleeping bag and it's really warm for Lily. They're only about $20. They're not tog rated though like the grobags, just warm, thick material. Though it's hot where you are isn't it? Maybe google them? Or look online in target or kmart etc? Sorry not really much help am I
Ok after that ramble, I'm off to bed!
Sweet dreams, sleep tight.
Danni, it sound like our night precicely. Logan sleeps 8pm to 2.30 like a brick and then snacks every hour until somewhere between 5.30 and 7.30 when he's sick of being in bed and demands to get up! I should try to go to bed earlier too but here I am at the pooter at 10.40pm!
Erin, sounds great with the work and basketball. I sometimes feel like I should be doing something more productive with my days.
We had a brilliant time at mum-club today. We had it at Veronica's house instead of going out which was so lovely and relaxed. We all ended up starting to go home after about 5 hours and I was there almost 6 hours! We all took masses of photos and I've uploaded some of mine on the webshots album (see the link in my signature) and if you want to see them, click on the 4 albums that have the 'NEW' tag attatched to them. The one called 'my friends' has the most and the one with videos has a really cute one of the 7 of them.
I really 'should' go to bed so I'll leave it at that tonight. have a good one,
bub still asleep....11.5 hours so far. had trouble getting him in last night was too excited by his fathers new DJ gear so we gave him a crack on them...
Hi Everybody,
Much better the last two nights....next time I have a dodgy belly I think I will give him formula till it goes - poor pet was farting like a trooper!! Then yesterday I worked from 7 -7 and he was with his nanny who writes all his sleeps and activities in a little book for me all day....he is always tired after being with her tho - she must be more entertaining than boring mum! He slept from 7pm til 3:30am which is a nice big stretch so I feel human again after working...set up a big sale at my work yesterday on gorgeous kidswear which was a bit dangerous as I spent most of my wage!
Erin - where are you going to order the jolly jumper from? Do they have a big range or just the basics? I picked one up in Target and it says from 12months on the back???? Sorry you and Charlie are in a stormy patch, can you get a few hours break this weekend if DH takes him(if fits in with his roster?) go have a coffee or something?
Mimi - Wow Olivia sounds like she is having a total angel period!
Christy - Glad you are so well and Hazel is happy in her jumper - I want one for Beau badly! She is super cute I had a squiz at your gallery...
Kaz - Hi stranger!
Kris - he is feeding roughly every 3-4 hours, same frequency as Dylan, but beacuse he is on EBM and formula, his amounts vary between 100ml and 240ml. He is definately at the "I just want to play and look around not eat stage" Get some cranberry juice into you asap! Hate Uti's I had one at about 3 months pg and couldnt take the cranberry tablets which work like a charm. ps Congrats on your new job!!
Greenfern - Wow!! You are having the reverse problem from all of us, cheeky lazy bubs!
Danni - feed in 5 mins! Jealous smelous!!! Sorry that he is disturbed for the mornings - I go to bed at 8:30 - Beau goes down at around 6-7 so its the only way to get a few hours....
Expat - Glad you had a good time at your club with your other mums!
Kel - is Lily in her sleeping bag or are you still wrapping her?
I have a question too - how long do you feed and settle for? beau is normally up for anywhere between 1- 2hours in the day, usually 1 1/2 knocks him out (he he)...we play till he grizzles then usually feed him then play again with a bum change until he grizzles then I wrap him and settle him in his chair or rocking him or in his cot if he is really grizzly. is this too long? He seems to want to be up for longer these days!
Hazel had her 4 month vaccinations yesterday.....omg, it must be the most unnatural thing in the world to sit there and LET someone inflict such pain on your child! I know it is for the best blah blah blah but it is sooo awful. She screamed and cried like I've never heard her cry before, poor little sausage. But boobie saved the day and she really has been pretty good after it. Had one extra wake up in the night and she cried a little bit in her sleep that's all. On the upside her 4 month check went well and everything is as it should be. She now weighs 5.92 kg, is 63 cms long and has a head circumference of 42cms.. So she has almost doubled her birth weight!
I went down to my Mum and Dad's on wednesday and Mum and I went shopping, during which Mum completely spoiled Hazel! She has got loads of summer stuff now and a few new toys too, lucky girl!
Gotta go, sorry no personals, hope all is well for mums and bubs x x
Hi everyone
Thurs night was a bit better with only about 5 wake ups. Then yesterday we had needles & last night he was fantastic....not sure if it was the needles, I really hope he's like that again tonight. A quick cry out at 9pm, then not up til 2am for a feed & then sleep til 7am!!!! YAY. Funny how one night can make you feel so refreshed.
Greenfern we are in Newman, WA.... a mining town in the middle of nowhere!! as everyone up here works shift work it's hard to get teams for things such as basketball & so on. So the teams are mixed, that scares me a little as the guys are a bit rough & I'm not a very big person LOL should be fun, can't wait til it starts.
Kellie, think I'm going to bite the bullet & buy a gro bag - can't find anything as good on the net & yes it so very hot up here. Come Nov/Dec we are lucky if it gets below 27 at night!!! If I was at all good with a sewing machine I would make my own, but think I'd rather spend the $70 he,he.
Jen I'm not sure where I'll be getting the jolly jumper from, will look through my magazines - seen a few in there. I haven't really checked the age req on them, but my cousin had her DS in one at about 6months & he loved it. I just realised there's a Shop4 Kids mag too, that's heaps better than the baby one & has just as much baby stuff in it. In regards to feed & settle this is the one thing I feel I've actually mastered with Charlie. He's used to being fed to sleep, so I always offer a top up before a nap or bed at night, I simply feed, burp & bit of a cuddle & pop him in bed wide awake. In the day he has music, at night it's a bath first. If he cry's a bit I pop the dummy in, if he crys out heaps & won't settle I just get him up & try again a bit later. I'm not for the controlled crying, not until he's a bit older anyway. So it doesn't take us long at all. I think I read somewhere that about this age they should be able to last 2hrs before needing a nap - thats about how long Charlie will last....though often it's about 3hrs before the arvo nap as we are usually out & about.
Ok better go, someone just woke up from his nap. Here's to hoping we have a good sleep again tonight.

Hey there,
Its quiet around here...
Erin thats great that Charlie gave you some rest after his needles, both Olivia and Charlie got them yesterday poor buggers! When Beau had his first needles he slept for 9 hrs after so it might have something to do with his longer sleeps....
Not much to report around here - Dh and I just came back from my old work and we spent my last clothing allowance - sniff sniff....he got more than I did but he deserves it! Then we went to the fish markets - oysters for lunch yum! Beau was such a good boy - out for 3 1/2 hours with a 15min nap in the car and hardly any feed and now he is fast asleep in his cot with not too many grizzles...cherub today so far!
have a great saturday x
What a gorgeous day in Melbourne!! I've had the kids outside this morning and I will gain this arvo...Louis is having nap time at the moment and Dylans lying on his play mat chewing anything and everything! hehe. He's rolling over really well now and is great at tummy time! He's loving sitting up and can do it on his own for a little bit!
Sleeps improved a little bit. He's very unsettled at bedtime waking up all the time but once he settled last night around 8-9pm he didn't wake up again until about 12am for a dummy, then 2.30am for a feed, 4.30am for a dummy and 6.30am for a feed and snooze with mum! Thats the best it's been for a while so I can't complain too much!
He's having brekky each morning, rice cereal with bm and banana! It's taking him a little to get used to but he ate heaps this morning. I'm going to make some pumpkin tomorrow to start him on lunch on Monday. when he has his brekky he goes 4 hours between feeds and for the rest of the day it gets shorter and shorter between. He's still on 6 feeds a day...5 during the day and 1 overnight...
Greenfern - OMG - I can't believe how much he sleeps! You lucky thing!!
Melissa - Olivias sleeping great!! Aww how cute on the bathers!! I must get Louis some new ones soon...dylans just going to have hand me downs...hehe.
Erin - Big hugs!!! I know the feeling!! It won't last forever though that I promise! it's certainly hard getting through it though...bugger you won't be able to take the part time work - could be just the thing you need to get a break!!
Thats great that your going to play basketball. Bugger about the childcare...
Dylans been snotty as well - I think that was definitely a problem when he was waking all the time...Thats great selling your car!
You can get the grobags everywhere - kmart/bigw/myer...heaps of brands do different ones now...If it's that warm you probably don't even need one - just a pair of pj's. Over summer Louis sleeps in a t-shirt and boxers and Dylan will either wear flannie pjs or little t-shirt/boxers as well. They're great for the cold though.
So glad you got a better sleep last night!
Kel - Glad your well - these bubbas can be a bit unpredictable hey? One day is completely different to the other...I'm not even going to bother with a routine until Dylans on 3 meals a day.
Adele - Sounds like you had a great time at your mothers group - Wow what a big meet up! I wouldn't worry about being more productive with your days - just enjoy your time - your bubba will grow up faster than you can believe so you just need to make the most of each day with them!!
JenSam - Glad bubs (and you) are feeling better! Sounds like he has fun with his Nanna! Oh gosh - I would be so bad working in retail - I wouldn't earn anything I don't think. I'm already going to have to cap my body shop purchases now that I'm selling it! LOL!
Have you tried ebay for a jolly jumper?? We were given ours...Gosh - I wouldn't think it would say from 12 months - Louis was walking by then! hehe. I've already put Dylan in his once...really must get it out again (think I've written that about 10 x now! hehe)
Dylan up usually around 2 hours now...but it really depends - at least 1 1/2 anyway..Depending on the time I do the same as you!! He only takes about 5-10min to feed so the rest of the time is playing!!
Sounds like you've had a great day today!! My dh is away working AGAIN but luckily is also coming home tonight so just one full 24h with him away...I'm hoping we can have a nice day tomorrow...
Omg - he's fully just crawled about a foot along the floor...I think he's going to be an early crawler - he fully gets his knees up under his tummy and pushes...scary!! He's nearly of his play mat...hehehe.
Christy - Glad Hazel (and you!) coped ok with immunisations. They're awful aren't they? Wow she's almost the same size as Dylan! He's 63cm and 42cm hc but 6.4kg.
OOh what a fun shopping trip - I'd love to go on one of those where someone else is paying !LOL!
Gosh it's turned into an epic as per usual - chat later!
Well I am having a very quiet Saturday. I have done all my house work and now I am quite bored! I went out and got a gift for my nanna as it's her b'day on Monday (and mine!!) and I got some stuff to make her a cake too. I haven't baked a cake in forever...not much of a cake maker, but it's the thought that counts right?!! Lil's in bed, probably just for a cat nap as usual, DH is in bed after a night shift, ready for another night shift tonight. It feels like he works forever when he works on night shifts.
Lily has been a good girl. Her sleeps are back to only one wake up at night thank goodness! But she's still waking at 6am or so. She must just be an early bird, unlike her mumma!
She has discovered her ears and her hair and is starting to pull them!! She has quite long hair and alot of it and seems to enjoy pulling at it...It's cute but she has hurt herself a few times she pulls so hard and ends up crying, silly chook!! She's really good during the day, she lets me do my thing and will quite happily chat to her mobile in her cot or bat at her playgym, and will only cry if she's hungry tired or wants a cuddle.
Jen, Lily sleeps in her sleeping bag sometimes, if it's a cold night, though she gets hot in it even in a nappy and singlet. If its a warmer night I just have her under her blankies, tucked in tight with a jumpsuit on. Our place is never really that cold, and she really feels the heat and gets really sweaty like her daddy. It's not really a problem for us at the moment because she doesnt really move in bed much.
Lily is usually able to stay awake for about 1 1/2-2hrs during the day before getting the grumps. It takes her about five mins to get to sleep if I catch her at the right time, but never anymore than 15mins. If it takes me longer than that I get her up for a few mins longer to play and try again later. She takes about 15mins to feed off the breast (both boobs) and about 20-30mins with a whole bottle (150mls). There's been a couple of times in the past weeks that she seems tired but just will not go to sleep. I just get her up and try later, I try not to stress about it, she knows what she wants I guess!
Christy, I know how you feel about letting a person jab your baby, I hate it too. But it has to be done I guess (if you choose to!!). Booby is a magic cure all huh? Lily likes it when she's distressed too. It's probably more just the snuggles rather than the booby! Yay at Hazel's growth! Lily is a chubba bubba at 7.3kgs, two weeks ago.
Sounds like you had a lovely day today, and what a little angel it sounds Beau has been, doesn't it make you proud when they are so good and settled!!
Erin, I'm glad that Charlie gave you one night to have a better sleep. I hope he does a repeat performance.
The gro bags are worth the money, even though they're expensive. If it's so hot there then you might need to get a summer weight one?
Hello to everyone else who I missed, this post has taken me an hour and a half to get to the end of, and my little miss is getting very grizzly, I think it's time for a feed...
Happy saturday to you all!
Kristie, just read your post, WOW at Dylan crawling!!! He'll keep you on your toes if he starts crawling (not that you're not on your toes now, hehe!!).

And a big wow at Dylan crawling.

Geez - I hope you Melb girls enjoyed the weather today - it was just beautiful!! Dylan loves looking up at the leaves blowing in the breeze -has little chats with them! hehe.
Went to a Body Shop party today to have a look and I have training the next 2 nights so I'm very excited to start having parties! The products are sooo great - I get my kit on Tuesday night as well so I can try them all out!!!
Kel - Glad you had a nice day yesterday - I can't imagine being bored - hehehe. I seem to have so much on at the moment. I would love a child free day - even half a day - I think I would get sooo much done! Between the two of them though it's enough just to get us all fed, dressed and bathed everyday! hehehe. Glad her sleeps going well! Silly duffa pulling her hair! hehe.
He's not crawling yet - not properly anyway - just a creeping forward - but if I remember correctly Louis was doing that at around 6 months!!! I'm happy for him to stay put for a little while longer yet!! hehe.
Melissa - I know - all our bubs turning 5 months soon! The time's going way too quickly!! Although it's getting exciting as they're starting to get a little personality now!
