    Hi!

Kaz - You sound busy!! Sorry to hear bubs didn't go to well with his imunisations. Have fun at mothers group!! ooh you've made me feel like sweets now! hehe.

Greenfern - Hehe...Thats just how long it seems to take him to feed. I've always had a fast let down so I don't know if thats got anything to do with it...He spends the next hour throwing it back up anyway usually....
Poor little munchkin...I have no idea about what he actually got! hehe. Ooh that sounds really bad doesn't it...we put so much trust in these dr's!!

Well, Dylan's just had his 2nd nap for the day - first one was only 30min, second one 45min...grrrr. It's driving me bananas! at least the first one he put himself to sleep so didn' take any effort iykwim?
Dylan pretty much rolled from back to tummy today!! woohoo! He can roll tummy to back easily but it's taken him a bit longer to catch on the other way!!

Gotta go - he's cracking it...

    hey All,
Olivia had her 5 month check up today (turns 5 months tomorrow). Shes now 7.1kgs and 63cm long. And today she did her first roll from tummy to back, the she did it 2 more times and then screamed.....
We have 4 more weeks of harness and then the specialist....its such a long wait. Then all together she will have been in it for 20 weeks. Well its not slowing her development down by much, she wriggles and rolls and wants to stand up all the time. I think I have a pretty active bub..just like her dad.
Anyway, I might take this opportunity to go sleep. DF is at the renos again and we have no front door. I wish he did it yesterday when it was warmer, but never mind.
Take care and have a great weekend.
    Love Melissa

    Hi girls,
Well we've had a busy few days, not with fun things unfortunately, just usual stuff, house stuff, errands, study, study and more study, grumpy baby stuff! The usual!
Lily has been pretty good, but in the arvos at about 3ish, she gets the grumps majorly, like now all she does is grizzle and grump at me, no matter what I do and then she'll have a catnap and she's ok...She's a funny little monkey! She's started growling, no really! Growling like a little tiger instead of talking and squeeling like she was she growls, it's hilarious!! Her teeth are STILL giving us grief and she's dribbling and gnawing more than ever. Whenever you pick her up now she will leave you with a wet patch on your shoulder where she's chewed on you...

Jen, no I don't think the baby bjorn is a sumer look! I was getting sweaty from it in winter, I don't know how I'd go wearing it now. Besides the fact that my hubba bubba is just TOOO heavy for me to lug her around in it now!
Lily's been pretty unpredictable with her 'routine' too and I use the word loosley! She hasn't really had a routine but a flow to the day at least, and she's been out of whack these past few days, not feeding the same as usual and sleeping is either out the window or she's an angel for a night...they like to keep us on our toes!
Penrith is also out of the way for me. I'm in Faifield, which is near Liverpool. I'm in the middle I think!!
Bugger about the playgym star, it's the best bit of it! I have the same playgym that you got. Lily loves it, she's finally got the hang of kicking it to make it sing.

Erin, yep I think I have settled into mummyhood quite nicely now. It was hard for me at first but now she's bigger it is getting more fun! Raspberries are pretty hilarious huh? Lil has to concerntrate so hard to do it, LOL!
How was work, I hope you had a good day.

Christy, I know how you feel when you say you feel old. I just had my 29th birthday and I am feeling pretty old. Although I am looking forward to planning a big 30th! Hehehe... Glad to hear things are going well for you.

Kristie, I hope your job is going well for you. I think it would be interesting to do. Lily's been really clingy to me lately too, she even cries when DH takes her sometimes. He's paraniod she doesn't like him!
Lucky you having a massage. I got a voucher for one and a padicure for my b'day, now I just have to get time to get it done! I can't wait it has been so long since I have had one.
Lily always sleeps for 30-45 mins in the day time, so your lucky if he sleeps longer in the day time at all!!

Kaz sorry to hear Patrick had a horrible time with his jabs. Poor little man. I have the active bjorn too, but I still get a sore back if my chubba bubba is in it on me, she's just too fat! I think she'd be pushing 8kg's now! And she's not even having solids yet...

Greenfern, sorry to hear Xavier had a hard time with his jabs too. It so sucks that they have to be done! I hope he feels better soon and you have your little man back to normal. I don't think Lil has gotten the rotatech vac. I remember the nurse saying that we were just too late to get it? I'm not worried about it though, I'm still wary about getting her vac's done anyhow, so one less is good for me!

Melissa, Glad to hearOlivia is doing so well! She's the same weight and length Lily was four weeks ago!! LOL. I hope she's oout of the harness for you in the coming weeks. She's doing better with rolling than Lil, who rolled once and has never done it again! She gets to within a few centimetres of doing it and then comes back...little tease, hehe!

Ok gotta go, Hi to anyone I missed! Happy weekend girlies

hey guys, i am currently sitting in the dark, in the car, in the driveway! Mason wouldnt go to sleep so i jumped in, drove arond the block and he was asleep instantly.

We are going out for dinner in an hour so I really needed him to be rested up.

We are doing well...although still not sleeping through. Last night he did 8 hours straight so i cant complain really. I have started giving him some solids even though i didnt really wanna start yet he seems much happier though!

    hope everyone is well xxx

P.S Kristie: Nikki invited me to her bodyshop party. Do they still have cheap things to buy like lippies etc?

    Hi!

Melissa - Yeah on Olivias check up!! It will be so great when you can get rid of the harness. Yeah at her rolling over!! Hope you got your front door on - it was soo cold today!

Kel - Bugger you've been so busy...it's funny that you say she's growling - dylan was doing this funny thing tonight after his bath - just looking up at the roof and making a kind of growling noise - dh could hear from the other room as well. So funny. I guess they're just seeing what they can do with their voices!
Thanks - yeah it's all going well!! Getting very excited to host my first party. We're having one at my house tomorrow just so I can try and book some more parties for me. It really seems to be a great company and a great system.

Danni - Oh no - bugger at Mason not sleeping! Hope you have a nice night out for dinner! OMG - 8 hours sleep is amazing!!! I'd be very happy with that!!
Great - It would be good to catch up!! I'm going to have Dylan with me but Louis will stay at home in bed. Yep - they've got lip balms and soaps and things that are a bit cheaper...lipsticks are around $20.

Better get to bed! Chat later!

    Just wanted to introduce myself.

Im Tiffanny, my DD Phoebe was born on the 3rd April 9 weeks early. She is a happy healthy 5 month old who loves her food and has just figured out how to roll onto her back. She has just started sleeping in her own room and loves chattering to her butterfly that hangs over her cot. She has been teething for what seems like forever and is just starting to giggle though her Daddy seems to get more giggles than me, I think its just coz he is more goofy looking lol

She has been sleeping through the night since she was 3 months old and we have a good routine now where she goes to bed around 8-830 and is awake for her feed around 4-5am. She has 3 solid feeds during the day. She is grasping things and scoots along the floor on her back using her feet to launch herself its quite cute to watch. She loves having her nappy off, her legs go 20 to the dozen with the freedom being nappyless brings lol

She is well over 6kg by now and just starting to fit into 000 clothes. Cant think of much else my blank has gone completely blank.

Hi guys, feels like I havn't been here for ages. I am sooooo tired this morning. Charlie seems to be attention seeking at night & it's getting on our nerves. We had a really good week where he slept til about 3am before waking up & would cry out for only 10mins before dozing off again...now slowly he's waking up more & more & back to 2 feeds. He gets out of his wrap & then crys & won't settle til he's wrapped again - it's like a huge game & we've tried so hard to wean him of wrapping but getting nowhere fast. Oh so very frustrating!!! Anyway he's just grasped the concept of rolling from back to tummy - hasn't got all the way yet but almost. Blowing raspberries is huge at the moment, it's how he spends every spare minute - I put a bib on him everyday now or I end up having to change tops all the time.
DH is at work great way to spend his first Father's Day!! I left his present out for him as he's up & gone by 5am. Charlie will be in bed before he gets home too, so we will have to do something special when he starts his days off.

Danni what time does Mason usually go to bed? Don't know if that's relevant but I have a book that I swear by & it states that if you put them down later than 7pm they will get up earlier in the morning as it calculates their sleep cycles. Charlie is always in bed by 6.30pm & despite several wakings he's only up for the day around 7-7.30.

    Hello Tiffanny, welcome.

Kristie, good luck with all your Body Shop stuff - you sound very excited hope it all goes well.

Kellie, work was great thanks. It's really nice to be back into some work, though they have asked me to help out a day or two this week & I can't get Charlie into Childcare they are so flat out up here its ridiculous I have been on the waiting list since before he was born. The growling noise sounds so cute, no growling here....but it's funny to hear the raspberries on the monitor in the middle of the night.

Hello to everyone else. I had better go, I have PIL coming to visit in less than 3wks & have sooo much to organise before they get here. Will be moving Charlie to the bigger room (futher away from Kitchen, laundry etc) but have to paint it first, have plants to put in, photo't to put up & a garage sale in a weeks time. Oh yeah & it's DH birthday in 2wks & I have no idea what to get him.

Hope you all had a good weekend.

    Hi!

Happy fathers day to the daddies!! We had a great day!! Out for brekky in the morning and then a bbq in the arvo. Was nice weather in Melb as well! Dh was sooo spoiled.

Dylans well - sleeping a lot better at night at the moment but who know's how long that will last for! LOL! Just when you've got them worked out they throw it all up in the air! hehe.

I just had a bath - aahhh bliss - haven't had one for AGES!!

Iona - Poor Luke with his croup - Louis has had that a couple of times - very scary!! Glad to hear he's all ok though!

Danni - LOL at dh!! Just remind him that you'll want the same treatment on Mothers day! LOL.
Yeah, unfortunately the food won't help them sleep unless they're actually hungry and thats why they're waking - and - the little amount they eat to start with really doesn't cut it in the filling them up stakes! It would be great if it did. I'm giving Dylan 2 feeds a day - although it's pretty hit and miss as to whether he actually wants to eat it or not and he's still feeding exactly the same...although I've dropped a day feed I'm pretty sure it's not cos of solids but just a better routine.

Welcome Tiffanny - Wow your dd sounds like she's going great!!! Thats fantastic she's sleeping so well for you!!

Erin - Bugger Charlies' not sleeping so well for you...can be sooo frustrating! Poor dh having to work on Fathers day! Wow - you sound super busy - hope you manage to get everything done that you want!

K - better think about jumping into bed!! Chat later!

hey erin, mason goes to bed at 8pm. I cant really make it any earlier as my DH doesnt get home until 7-7.15 and he likes to spend even a little time with Mason iykwim?

Ok last night was better...only slept 5 hours to start with, but then 3.5, then 2! up at 7am i cant believe it!! So back to 2 night feeds...gotta try and make it one, then none now!

I gave mason some banana mixed with rice cereal yesterday morning and about 2 or 3 hours later he brought up yellow stuff. I wonder if i gave him too much? He would just keep eating if i let him.... he gets so upset when there is no more.

I was giving mason 2 meals a day and my sister told me off last night and told me that i need to watch his weight as he has it in his genes to be a big boy (im a big girl). So now im scared about what to do

Hi Erin & Kristie thanks for the welcome xox

Danni OMG at you sis! If you feel that Mason is ready for it then go for it. Myself and my family arent small people either but Phoebe is on 3 solid feed a day plus she still has her bottles as well after- she too gets upset when theres no more lol She has peach rice cereal for brekky the pureed steak, veges and gravy for lunch and then peach cereal in the afternoon. Mason is your son so do what you think is best for him! Thats what my DP is always saying to me when people give their "helpful" advice.

I found that Phoebe didnt like banana that much lol it bunged her up a bit too poor mite

    Hey All,
Welcome tiffany. Wow at you guys giving solids already. We havent started yet. Olivia seems happy with her bottles atm and doesnt seem to be any hungrier. So I think we will wait til shes closer to 6 months, just wait and see. last night i got the best sleep, Olivia was in bed by 930, I think I was asleep shortly after and she woke around 730 this morning! YAY. Hope she keeps it up, although she has been pretty constant for a while now.
She hasnt rolled since Friday, but just looking over at her, shes scuttled on her back a fair way past her toys and is getting a little shirty!!!!
Well I got my leg master thing and it kills my legs, so must be doing something. Hopefully on the road to some weight loss/toning!
Adam is going away for 4 nights over this coming weekend, am a little bit nervous, but i might go and stay with my mum.....
Anyway, housework awaits me, oh and the front door looks great!
    Take care all

    Hi ladies,

So sorry about my total slackness in keeping up with this thread. I feel like Jambin has finally gotten himself into a groove during the day, and I actually have time to do things now. He's generally pretty happy to watch me potter around the house (e.g. laundry, vacuuming, folding) but cracks it if I try to sit down at the computer, so BB has taken a bit of a back seat lately. He's just gone down for a sleep, and I made it my mission to post here in Baby Buddies while he napped. It feels like my big achievement during the day lol.

I hope everyone had a great Father's Day. I took DH and Jambin to the park for morning tea (coffee and iced donuts), then we went to the Sandgate jetty for fish and chips last night with my sisters and parents.

Kel - that's interesting about Lily starting to growl. Jambin has started making a new noise over the past few day ... kind of a mixture between a grunt and a cow mooing lol. He does it for hours. Drives me nuts

Melissa - YAY for Olivia rolling, even with her harness. It will be so great when it can finally come off. I have a friend whose babe was also in a harness, and when they finally got to take it off, the first thing she did was dunk her in a bath lol. She'd been soooo looking forwards to bathing her baby but couldn't do it with the harness on.

Kristie - aren't baths the greatest!! I have started having one every night. Jambin comes in with me for the first 15 mins, then DH takes him and plays with him/dresses him/gives him his final bottle while I stay in the bath for a while reading a book and generally chilling out. Pure bliss!!

Iona - oh no @ Luke's croup Poor little mite. I hope he recovers from it quickly.

Danni - Hugs for you sweets. You must be so tired with all those night feeds. I hope you manage to find something that works for you both.

Tiffanny - welcome Sounds like little Phoebe is going great guns! Jambin loves having his nappy off too. If he's ever really grizzly, I just take his pants off for guaranteed smiles lol.

Erin - bummer about not being able to get into childcare yet. It's something that I've been totally slack about. I'm due to go back to work in Feb, and haven't even looked at childcare places, let alone actually put Jambin's name down on any waiting lists.

We haven't started solids yet either. Jambin seems to be doing really well on formula, and trying to feed him his reflux medication with a spoon is enough of a hassle (it ends up everywhere but in his mouth lol).

Jambin has rolled a few times, from his tummy to his back. He did it for the first time when he was 12 weeks old, then didn't do it again until about 16 wks, and hasn't done it since lol. He hasn't rolled from his back to his tummy yet either. He hates tummy time, so even though I make sure he has some time facedown each day, it only tends to be for 2-3 mins each time before he starts grizzling.

Sleepwise, he sleeps through the night, usually from about 7pm-7am, which is an absolute godsend, since his daysleeps are totally erratic. I've gotten in the bad habit of going lots of places, particularly in the morning, so now the only reliable way to get him to sleep during the day is by driving in the car. Sometimes if I bounce him in the hammock when he tired, he'll drift off for a short sleep, but mostly I have to feed him to sleep during the day, and then he will only stay asleep for as long as he is in my arms. I need to invest in a laptop, so that I can surf BB while he's sleeping lol.

    Hugs,

hi tiffany. your little munchkin sounds like she is going great guns!!

solids - we weren't going to start until 6 months buyt we started giving him a little rice cereal and stewed apple at 14 weeks. just coz he is a hungry little chubba!! now we have started on pumkin and sweet potato etc. mixed with BM. he loves it. but i don't....was shocked by the smelly nappies as he had never had smelly ones before being a BF baby.

danni - babies are babies we can't worry about if they are FAT!!! once they start crawing and then walking the weight will fall of them!! my bubs is just over 10kg and is only 18 weeks old, but the nurses and dr never have said he is too fat (even though he is OFF the growth charts) its not like veggies are fattening anyhow, they are actually GOOD for them

anyhow i think mr has just done one of those smellies that i'm not fond of!!

hope everyone had a good day yesterday!!

    Danni- no worries lol

Cherie-Phoebe is the same if grizzly off comes the nappy lol I just read your blog about day sleeps and trying to get Jambin in his cot. We had problems getting Phoebe into her cradle so for the first month of her being home she slept in her rocker. I thought she was never going to get in the cradle until my sis gave me a tetra pillow to put in the bottom. It worked a treat! She was in and sleeping soundly. We have just moved her into the cot now and she didnt like it much to begin with so we bought her a Tetra Snuggle Bed and she had been in there since and loves to snuggle into it. The snuggle bed is SIDS approved and the filling is made from tea tree bark so nice and soft aswell as being a breathable.

lol Greenfern I was the same when Phoebe had her first cereal with apple in it. I could smell her as soon as I walked in the room. The steak and vege ones caught me off guard, I cracked up laughing coz it came out the same colour that it went in. FYI it was the biggest stinkiest one Ive changed so far. Dp got one on the weekend and when I returned from grocery shopping he wanted to know what I'd been feeding her coz he nearly gagged at it.

I said to him if it was that bad he should have bathed her but he is still too afraid to! Its the one thing he wont do! Are there any other partners that refuse to bath bubs coz they are scared?

Tiffanny - I just googled the tetra snuggle beds. They look fantastic! I will show DH when he gets home. Would be great for co-sleeping too. And I'm taking Jambin to Melbourne in a few months, so that would be so much easier to carry onto the plane than a portacot. Then he could just sleep inside the tetra bed, in bed with me IYKWIM.
