LOL pixie, that's the story of my life!! If I don't do dishes at least twice a day these days, they just pile up too much and then I couldn't be bothered and usually wait til the weekend when DP cracks the *****s with them and does them himself!! :cryinglaugh::
Does anyone elses bub get that tremor in their voice when they cry? The kind that makes you feel slack for letting them cry for 30 seconds?? :lol:
Hope we all have fairly good nights with our bubs tonight! (heaven knows I need more than 1.5-2 hours sleep at a time!! :p )

I haven't been on here for a couple of days - been a busy time! On Wednesday I got my hair done, followed by my 6 week check up with my Ob. Then it took us ages to get home because we hit peak hour. It was ridiculous! Then yesterday Jett was being a little horror and not settling unless I was hugging him close to me. So that didn't leave me with too many free hands! :cryinglaugh: We also went and caught up with a friend who had her baby a week before Jett on the 30th July. He managed to behave himself for a little while, but then cracked it and of course it was the one time I didn't have a dummy with me! I had to go and buy some more! So I am working on your total of 10 dummies MM!! I think the poor little guy was struggling with wind. He's also had a couple of serious splodey poos in the last couple of days. And OMG do they stink! I keep wondering what he's been eating! :lol:
**whinge alert** My check up with my Ob went well. And I had to have my Pap Smear too. But we discussed next time which has made me feel a little down again. Because my waters broke early this time and I ended up with a c/s I can't be allowed to go that long again (42 hours) if it happens that same way. He is very supportive of me attempting to have a VBAC and he said most people have a 70% chance of having a successful VBAC. But unfortunately because of my situation I really only have about a 40% chance. I am clinging to that 40%, because it isn't 0% but still can't help feeling a little down about it. All because I had spent so much time and effort mentally preparing myself for a normal birth and didn't get it and figured I would get it next time! Then he went on to say not to get pregnant in the first year, and I certainly wasn't planning on it, but suddenly feeling restricted by it makes me resent having to have a c/s even more. Along with I need to tone up my tummy muscles again, but can't really start until 3 months and a couple of other things which he mentioned it all feels like my body doesn't and won't belong to me again as a direct result of the c/s. **whinge over**
CM4E - I was still bleeding slightly too until Monday, two days before my check up, so you never know, your body may be ready in time!

Pixie - yeah, when Veygas wakes up that often, I don't get a straight run of sleep, maybe to or three of those coveted 1.5-2hr blocks! But hey, #4, so I'm kinda used to it! :p I have discovered though that he wakes more often when he manages to get his hands out of being wrapped!! (they go ice cold!) So I have been trying to wrap him tighter, and even tried a double wrap, and that seems to be working - he woke at 11.30pm, 2.45am and 6.15am after going down at 5.30pm last night! So sleep was much better last night (I even woke up in a good mood, causing DP to ask - when he got home this morning - if I "got some" while he was gone!! :cryinglaugh: )
MT - Unfortunately, Jett's been "eating" whatever you've been eating!! :p Veygas has stinky ones as well, even when it's just wind, it's like O...M....G!!!!!!! Get ou t he gas masks!!! :cryinglaugh:

Busy day yesterday, premmie playgroup was fun, when had a physio in this week and she was lovely, after playgroup I went to work gfor a meeting, it didn't finish until 7pm, and I fed Nakita just before the start and a top up part way through :)
This morning I got my hair done and Nakita was perfect :) We have session at CAYHS this afternoon, getting to know your baby, I don't know how useful it will be but I am sure we will get something out of it!
Got her back on the boob this morning with out the shield on the LHS - yay!! PAIN FREE :dance: This last feed she latched on beautifully, I hope she continues too!!
Kell, thanks, I have used Lansinogh in the past but this time it was bruised so ice was the better treatment! I was looking at the WHO charts for BF'd bubs, but not looking anymore ;) I want her average to get back up to at least 100grams a week, preferably it needs to be 150-170grams, that way we won't need to go back to her Paed. Either way she is generally a pretty happy bub! I am sure though that she will put on a good amount this week. He He for the Hooter Hider!!
:hug: MT for the bad day yesterday :hug: But even bigger :grouphug: for your OB appointment, at least uo have a chance of a VBAC and your OB is willing to support you.

With dummies we have 4, NUK kinda flat shaped ones, we have a little round one we got at NECH but it won't stay in her mouth, damn it I should have kept her premmie one, but I didn't want it left in her cot and put in her mouth when she made a noise!!
Nakita is a sqeaker too, always has been, and she has just recently learnt to makes the cutest little sqeals!! Always makes us giggle!

Vic, we use the nuk ones as well ... we have a tommee tippee one that he absolutely hates, but ds3 preferred nuk too! The other 2 point blank refused dummies altogether!
I was like wow your feeling what im feeling i think . The other day i said to hubbie and its not the first time ive said this either. I am scared about the pap test results But even if they come back good im just scared that there will come a point where i am told i cant have any more kids. Ive been told this in past and proven them wrong. But even if its a blinking hard and aweful pregnancy i hate the idea the choice can just be taken from you. Same as being a c section verses natural.:
If i was told i had cancer i would probably delay treatment and get pregnant. Its the fear that it is over i hate that i hate, and being controlled and restricted by that. And maybe thats why i always feel like i need more kids as i know my time is coming to that end. I don't know how i would cope having to have everything removed or not being able to conceive. When i was 21 i was told that i needed to have the lot removed as its only going to continue to cause problems down there its like a 50 year old woman My surgeon explained. So for the past 7 years i have constantly worried and shed a river of tears over this and lost mountains of sleep. I obviously said no to removing it. I then have gone to have two more children taking it to 4 kids. But i feel like im not even half way there yet and i have no time left. Its all being stripped from me. I hate being controlled by this.There was a lady on tv the other day with 13 kids and i looked at her and i thought how lucky you are to be blessed to have that, thats what ive always wanted. Family means everything to me Its who i am its my all Its strangely what validates me. I have always envision loads of children and in my old age at least one would come and visit and look after me.
You also mentioned about your body doesn't and wont belong to you again i don't know how to make you feel any better on this but thats exactly how i also fee. That one time now rules all the other times of delivery. But they do say tho if you have only had 1 c section you can go on to deliver normally again. NOT in my case tho ive had 3 of them.
My tummy feels detached almost from me it doesn't feel like it's part of me if that makes any sence its sorta numb like.
So much wanted to say once again but josh is restless and the 3 year old has to clean up his mess.

BTW ladies and bear i am expecting this week and next to be very emotional taxing not sure how ill respond to it. when my other son was 8 weeks old some thing horrific happened my life stoped, it changed in every aspect even i changed. everyone changed around me. I am no longer the same person i once was. I am still getting past this and i have always dreaded the 8 weeks mile stone but i am hopping i will cope just fine so if i seem off a bit you all know why. So just bare with me !!
Squidipa - if you do feel a bit "off" or whatever, please feel free to grab the kids, jump in the car and drive up the coast to see me. I can't do much to help, but I'm always here to listen. :hug:
MT - Forgot to mention this in my last post - was distracted by DD - but anyway - I got pregnant again when DS was 9 months old - and was going for a VBAC (not sure if you were aware of that?) - having a repeat c-section was not my choice, but the decision was taken out of my hands. If I had had a natural birth, we would probably be trying to concieve pretty much straight away - but since I had another section - thats been put off. To give myself a best chance of a natural birth next time around - there will have to be an big age gap between DD and the next one - which is something that I didn't want to happen.
Damn DD has just woken up again.. why will she sleep fine on me, as soon as I put her down - woohoo mum I'm awake!!! :lol:
MM- we do feeds here either at 1am, 2am or 3am - so I'll be up waiting for ya to arrive ok? hehe
I really should do some cleaning. I'm so lazy and unmotivated today..... hmm.. maybe I'll have lunch instead...

Had my wedding dress fitting today, and she only has to take it up a little in length and bustle the train and put a hook on the veil! It fits! Although Im a bit bigger in the bust area than when I ordered the gown!!!! So happy! 7weeks until my Wedding! EEEEEEEK! Im going to be a Mrs!!!

Mel - Thankyou for sharing. I wasn't aware that you were trying for VBAC, probably cos I was cut off from here when you joined our thread. I missed out on so much and I haven't read the beginning of this thread. What were your reasons for your c-sects?
And I so hear you on the sleep on Mummy thing!! Jett is doing the same. It makes it very difficult for me to do anything!! I just put him in his swing though and it seems to be doing the trick! Well it is after I put mittens on him cos his hands turned to ice!

MT - first c-section was because I was uneducated and believed that I couldn't give birth naturally.:
Second c-section - went two weeks over (which is amazing for a VBAC) and had a wellbeing scan at 41 + 6 and said the placenta was deteriorating and that the baby was having to work 5 times as hard to get enough blood through the cord. OB said that the cord probably wouldn't survive a natural birth and since I couldn't be induced because of the risk of rupture - was better for c-section. So didn't really have a choice.
Needless to say - bring on the VBA2C for me!!!!!!! ;)

hi everyone and thanks for the welcomes and well wishes ... I am sure over time i will be able to post a few more personals and get to know you all ...
in the meantime will tell you about our little one's arrival .. i went for a routine check on the tues evening and got admitted to hospital that night with pre eclampsia ... on thursday they finished the 24 hour urine sample and combined with all results on blood pressure etc i had 600 + of protein when the limit was 300 ? So 2 lots of gel thursday night and friday morning my waters were broken. I laboured with the help of pethadine and gas for a couple of hours and then the contractions intensified however i started haemorraging on every contraction so was taken away for emergency c-sec and I found out yesterday at my 6 week check that the placenta started tearing off the wall hence the bleeding and that it could all happen again in pg #2 ... so I opted yesterday for an elective c-sec next time .... so yeah not what was planned at all but the main thing is both our little girl and I are healthy and safe and that is all that matters .... waking up in recovery to have to ask what you had is another thing all together !!
Anyway look forward to getting to know you all

I have to appologise I haven't read any posts Allegra and Cadence have been sooooo demanding lately plus we're trying to organise a major reno on our house a big yay and a massive holy cr@p. I hope you are all well and starting to get some goods nights of sleep.
we're doing well i'm still 100% breast feeding which is fantastic I have almost given up so many times. She's starting to fill out heaps and doesn't look too much like a new born.
I have a question about eye colour Allegra's are really blue i know babies have blue eyes when they're born but hers are ice blue. is everyones bub like this?

Geez its been agges since I was last here, omg how slack am I but yeah been real busy with Kye with the whole wind scenario, so not cool. Oh and I think he's been a bit unsettled due to his 'operation' on wednesday aswell. Have been giving him childrens panadol to help. Hopefully it will be 'off' in a few days, going back for a checkup on Wednesday.
On the good side of things though, we had our Paed appointment on Friday and he put on another 440 grams in a week; now weighs 5630 grams - 1730 grams up from birth :dance: he is growing extremely quick, looks like a 3 month old already!! I dont think people believe me when I tell them he is 5 weeks old :cryinglaugh:
Well thats about it from me - not alot else happening in my life, so boring :lol:
I wont even try and attempt to do personals, far too much to catch up on.

the 8 week mile stone is getting me VERy upset and unsettled. Lots of flash backs occurring. I so wanna blurt it all out but i cant so sorry for the mystery for those of you whom dont know. Thats my first issue.
secondly the heat humidity Josh so doesn't like, i had him two days in a row striped down to his nappy and out the front on the porch in hamock to settle him. I am so hungry for sleep like REAL sleep alone with out the need to wake in 2 hours or 3. this morning i wake no sorry EVERYONE woke to hubbie telling the 3 year old off. and i felt like i just got back sleep with josh. Mind you i think it was the thumping that got josh awake as i have said before dunno if he can hear all frequency's .( thats doing my head in cant wait to be retested)
My head is thumping again started with hubbie this morning and just hasnt stopped really been drinking water.
yesterday i spend 4 hours with the help of my 10 year old cooking dinner constantly doing this and that. hubbie was forced to help with josh. He only wanted some of the time to be held while dadda was on pc. O.k any prolonged standing makes my ankles and legs so ache. And yesterday was none the diff they were so sore. Still are now. So no real good sleep for me. I felt like after dinner i didn't even get a thank you maybe he said thanks i dunno. After tea everyone gets up and im left to tidy up i didn't do dishes, I was still cooking a cake for desert plus more food in oven and had food to pack away and store.
Ya know how some times when babies cries and all ya wanna do is something else ya think oh man.. well hubbie verbally expresses it and i say dont be like that he says ill be over it in a minute and he is but i feel then so blinking guilty in even asking him can u take him for an hour so i can sleep by myself and not like a sardine. Or he is busy and says im doing dishes he is always so busy.
Storms oh man hubbie is a storm buff and that means pc pc pc all day when storms are happening the last two days not been any diff. he also has a shocking flu the same one he cant seem to shake for weeks now.

O.k My mother in law gave my husbands EX our new contact details and she rang to talk to hubbie. Hubbie said she rang to invite us to a birthday party. he answered the phone and took off to the room and shut the door to talk to her.
Should i be upset or angry at him or the mother inlaw? At the time of the call i was cooking with the other 2 kids so he said to me i got a call from blah blah i said o.k. he said ill tell you after. The next day rocks on and its me having to initiate the conversation about it. Only to be told oh she just wanted us to go to her birthday. I dont remember anything else that i or she said. Should i believe him???
the ex used to live in another country but just a few weeks ago hubbie said to me this.
When we were at the shops yesterday i thought i saw my ex. So i added her back to msn to check and it was her, She now lives a suburb away from us He told her our suburb. Then he says ive blocked her cause i think she wants me back she is that sorta person i don't trust her. All i sorta said was o.k thanks for telling me.
Not even all my family have my home number and now i have this person with it should i be concerned. If the mother inlaw gave out the home number what about our address or his mobile? should i be annoyed. I dunno how i feel all confused.
I am still up and my brain is going.:rolleyes: Hubbie noticed yesterday that the whole 8 week thing was getting to me and gave me a big cuddle that was so nice. MY brain is just taking me back to that whole time and my heart feels so full of grief and shock horror right now. i am sorta trying to ignore these feelings and emotions as i told want it to take hold of me. As then ill be useless for myself and all the children and i do need to stay functioning. Once i am past this spot things will hopefully im not sure maybe get back to normal.
I hope they do, with 1 year and a half of counselling ya would think i would be past all of this obviously not. Any how gotta keep brain going in positive ways, Josh is up so ill go see to him.
P.s hope ya don't all think of me as some nut case cause honestly i am not well i don't think i am. And i am sure that if any of you experienced what i did you would be in same boat as me right now. Hope ya don't mind me just letting it out here.

Been flat out last few days, so just a bit of an update....
We have our big weigh in tomorrow, we have been comp feeding for 6 days, some feeds she gets enough from me and doesn't want extra other times she will take 60ml, mind you she nearly always chucks up some of that :p
Got a bit of a heads up on Friday we had a getting to know your baby session 1 of 6, the idea is that we create a playgroup out of it. There were a few of the mums that I have a lot in common which is great. They had some scales there so I did a quick weigh, with her clothes on - it had a chart as to what to take off for certain items and reckon that she had put on approx 200grams!!!!!! But will wait and see tomorrow.. different scales etc. no cothing, nappy etc.
I have been downing the Aktavite, and think this is boosting my supply, I am now leaking!!! But I don't think all the sugar is going to do me any good, so I am hoping the change my dose of Motilium as well, then I won't need so much aktavite. We are really lucky that Nakita will drink anything and go back to the boob!
She is now in 0000 in the long suits, the 00000 short suits still fit her for a while longer, but she is quit tall and lean, would like to get her length etc done again tomorrow, I think that if the gain is all good we will get the all clear.
I really want to be able to bf without the top ups but her growth/weight gain is more important and she is still getting all the great antibodies etc from the boob, and the F is purely a filler! It was great to talk to a few mums over the past week who have had to either do the same or go fully FF when they really wanted to BF. Either way I am still aiming for a 12 month BF relationship but if it doesn't work out then I know I have tried everything I can.
The smiles now are just beautiful and sooo many more of them!!

Kel, Beth's eyes were like a really dark indigo colour when she was born, now they are more like a navy blue.... I am wondering if they will eventually change to brown like the Bear's but have to wait and see

Vic - yay for Nakita finally growing out of her clothing, that's awesome :) I have the opposite problem... 0-3 month one-piece clothing is going to be too short for Eli very soon!! Need to go buy a few more one-pieces for him. Two piece outfits look cute but I'm forever yanking them down again as the tops ride up when I pick him up! Aren't the smiles just the best? Loving them!

Hi everyone else, I have been reading your messages since I last posted and catching up... sounds like no-one is sick at the moment which is great :) So many bugs going around here my mum and MIL have had a nasty as flu lasting for a month!!!
We're all good here, Eli's smiling lots now, I love it when he smiles when I go over to him when he's in bed or after I feed him... kinda makes me appreciated by him when he does that :) He's growing up in looks so fast, doesn't look 6 weeks old at all (same as you sasha). He's not rolling over or anything yet but "talks" more and more with the cutest sounds ever.

He He, it does feel great Rachel, we are just in the PP Newborn Size, her Prem T-Shorts/Pants still have heaps of room, as do the short suits (we didn't get any PP longies in Prem) I will miss a few of the Pumpkin Patch short suits whern she grows out of them, I have been trying to find them in a bigger size on the net/ebay. :cryinglaugh::cryinglaugh::cryinglaugh:

Very cute Squidipa, all ready for the beach!! You are doing an amazing job with the bf'ing!!! You can break through the 8 week barrier, set small targets so as not to get too overwhealmed, take each day as it comes, some will be harder than others, but I know you CAN do it. :hug::hug:

Nakita's eyes are just the most beautiful blue, both DH and I have blue eyes, mine are dark blue and DH's are a lighter blue and Nakita's are in the middle, just beautiful!!

Veygas is doing really well now - the scar is barely noticeable, but still a fair bit of scar tissue underneath. He also has an umbilical hernia (his belly button didn't close up properly either) so atm he has this squishy little "outie". The paed surgeon said that one would heal itself - it can take up to 5 years though! :rolleyes:
He had a bit of a funny day yesterday - he slept for about an hour in his rocker (he put himself to sleep oh so quietly!) but after that only having 5-10 minute cat-naps during the day. He was finally in bed for the night at around 5.30pm, and when he wok for a feed during the night, I freaked cause it was 2.30am! He was still wrapped and his sheets still tucked in, so I knew he hadn't been awake earlier. I had crashed by about 8.30pm, so it was a good stretch of sleep for me, but I had soooooooooo much trouble getting back to sleep after that feed! :cryinglaugh: I'm so used to only getting around 2-3 hours sleep between feeds! hahaha
A friend of mine is meant to be coming over today, but I haven't heard from her and can't seem to get in touch this morning! :doh:

**WHINGE ALERT**
Is it just me, or does everybody have a problem with people (usually family) coming into their house and just helping themselves to things, and not asking if they are unsure about something?
We had IL's up on Saturday and we had planned to go out somewhere with them and to get the kids out of the house. But EVERY TIME they come up, it's always a BBQ (they bring everything, so I shouldn't complain on that count!) This time, however, they didn't ask what things they could use, they just took my good porcelain plates and had the meat heating on the plates ON THE BBQ GRILL!!! They also used my salad bowl to put raw meat into and my mixing bowls to make a salad! Then my MIL uses EXPIRED salad dressing (ok, my fault, I should have thrown it out!)
Just the fact that nothing was asked of us, just feels a little disrespectful, plus when you confront them about it, they ALWAYS use the excuse "Well, I didn't know" :angry: Then they leave the mess for me to clean up! Grrrrrrrr ... am I being pathetic and unreasonable???

I haven't had that problem, I am just sick and tired of advice, and DH going "oh mum said that would happen!" he says this a lot (last night it was about my psoriosis flaring up now), FFS it was me that said it and, no your mum doesn't know everything!!! It is stress related (can be agrivated by stress), and I have been stressed to the hilt!!
Also at the wedding we went to Sunday night, everyone asked if I were still BF'ing, getting a mixture, ohh that is fantastic right through to it is okay to FF completely, bubs will be completely fine, and oh you will give up comping it is too hard!! :wall:
Most of all I hate when people literally go "ohh goo gooo gaaa gaa" and speak "baby talk" :cryinglaugh:
Ok I've ranted enough!!! Was hoping to be at work by now but N decided that she only wanted 2.5hours between feeds this morning!! All good :)
LOL @ the baby talk Vic!! I have been known to do it occasionally (to my own babies and only when they've been upset!) ... it reminded me of that ad a few years ago (can't remember what for) where the woman is home with the baby all day and ends up speaking baby talk to adults!! (Daddy home from worky jerky) :cryinglaugh: I used to PMSL all the time when that ad came on!!!
Vic, big :hug: for you, we're here to support you. One thing I was told when preg with #1 was to listen to all the advice, take what you want/need out of it and disregard the rest.
I'm glad my DP doesn't think his mother's word is gospel (but then again, I already had 2 kids when we met!!) :cryinglaugh: She does however, try to tell me stuff, about how hard it is to bring kids up (but she only had one and has literally worked all his life, leaving their neighbour to bring him up when he was little), and she's forever asking me how I'm doing, how I'm feeling, can she take the kids, can she come up here more ..... (and both DP and myself are very quick to answer NO!) :p
Maybe Nakita's more frequent feeds will pile some more weight on her! ;)

Thanks MM, I am just over it, it sounds like you MIL is very similar, seriously if she asks me again how I am feeling I am gonna scream :lol: She is coming down this weekend and wants to look after N so I can do some work, that doesn't bother me, but I will ask her to take her for a walk as I can't stand the gooing and gahing, last time she was here to help, it drove me batty, so at least if I send her out with N in the pram I don't have to listen!!! Hmm I should give her some books to read to her as well :cryinglaugh:

Hi Everyone!
Been a busy few days. Won't do many personals cos I have to get ready to go to the Osteopath. Jett is getting his first treatment today!! Cheeky little thing is doing his catnap thing again today but at least he is playing quietly inbetween rather than screaming like he usually does! His poos lately are extremely stinky and runny/explosive. Anyone else getting this? I'm trying to figure out if it is normal or a result of damage done during overfeeding stage.
Oh and Jett's eyes are currently blue - a navy blue, but I am convinced they will go dark brown like his Daddy's. In certain light (sunny daylight especially) they look like they have brown in the background, if that makes sense. My eyes are blue, but they don't look like my colour!
:hug: MM - I don't seem to have that issue, but I know I would be annoyed - especially the plates on the BBQ.

My whinge turn - Although I am breastfeeding, I still do 1 or two expresses a day cos I have an oversupply of milk. Because I get so much milk I choose to give Jett at least one bottle a day of EBM. Sometimes when we are out and about for convenience, sometimes when I have visitors and I don't want to flop a boob out in front of them, sometimes cos I just expressed while he was asleep but he's woken up early and I haven't replenished and sometimes at night just to give me a break so I can do other things and DH can have some bonding time with Jett. It works for us but whenever I mention it to people who are really pro bf they are horrified! Yes it is fine to give him a bottle once or twice a week so he doesn't forget how to take a bottle, but not every day. I don't understand the big deal, it is still breastmilk, he has a good feeding habit and sucks equally as well on both and doesn't seem mind in the least. I am also teaching him that it is ok to be fed by other people if I'm not around. Am I overreacting or am I missing something? If I am that's fine, but tell me now before the damage is done cos I can't see a problem.
Ok, better run so we can get to our appt on time!
ETA - Big yes here for the t-shirts!!

MT Hun, I wouldn't worry at all!!! We have given N a bottle of EBM at least once a day for months now!!! I think it is great that Jett will take both, we had a mum in mothers group where he little girl will ONLY take the boob, and she is 4 months old, no matter what she does bubs won't take a bottle of EBM, and she is really upset by it. I don't think it matters, Jett loves his boob and is more than happy to take the boob or bottle so go for it. I think they say to avoid it and dummies early as there is "nipple confusion" but in the end if Jett is happy with it all and it isn't affecting your supply - which is isn't as you have too much then why not!! Hey if he is on all BM it doesn't matter at all :hug: :hug: :hug:
