sheesh!!! Did we hit 400 posts already???

ETA - OK, I just read back to the other thread ...

Squidipa - DD has been excellent since having no more night time pullups! We have still not had a wet bed!! DS1 was almost SIX before he was dry at night (and we kinda forced him to be, we just stopped buying night time pullups and made him strip his bed if it was wet! AND it worked for us - two weeks later he wasn't wetting the bed anymore!) DS2 STILL won't toilet train, but not that phased at the moment, but he needs to be to start preschool next year!

But I guess with a big family comes the big loads of washing!! You have no choice but to suck it up and get used to it!! LOL!

And at least Josiah is putting on weight, that's the important thing!

Thats's great Squidipa, how is his length going? Length is a good indicator that he is growing rather than just putting on weight IYKWIM.

Can't wait for our appointment, my bbs are so sore at the moment

*EDIT* MM, I think it was 300 posts that the threads were getting closed, we must have slipped through the gaps!

Aaahhh ... I think I must have been getting confused with the change from 140 posts to 300 posts!! Maybe that's why I thought it was 400!!!

ETA: And yes, I agree with you, we must have slipped through the gaps!! Or just be a bunch of chatterboxes!

Good Morning everyone! Ooops! It isn't morning anymore.... where'd it go?

You have been chatty haven't you? And busy by the sound of it. All I have done this morning is get up and feed and change Jett. And I have done that twice! I'm not sure where the time has gone! Oh that's right, I did manage to squeeze a quick shower in there! Still, not 4 hours worth is it?

Great photos Pixie and The Bear! Beth looks so sweet. All these babies are just so cute... we've done well girls and the bear! Kiwigirl, I can't remember the password to your site...

I have noticed Jett's hair thinning out at the front too. He's 6 weeks old and already he has a receding hairline!

CM4E - You're getting married! What a wonderful year, first a baby then a wedding! I loved mine so if you enjoy it half as much as I did you are in for a real treat! Keep us up to date on all the details.

We took Jett to a wedding on Saturday. He was such an angel the whole time. In fact one of our friends who wasn't sure about having kids due to a couple of bad babysitting experiences turned to his wife and said "I want one of those" after playing with Jett. He just thought he was wonderful and was asking me all sorts of questions. I think he saw how relaxed we are and how relaxed Jett is and realised that it doesn't have to be as hard as some people make out. Needless to say I am expecting an announcement from them now before the year is out!

Vic - Yay for the estimated completion date! I hope your MW/LC can help you this afternoon. It is a challenge you could do without. And yay for not having to use the shields any more! I should be so lucky! Jett is still resisting.... we just get the odd feed here and there when he isn't wound up.

Squidipa - you have 3 other kids who are all doing so well, so don't fret. Besides babies grow in fits and starts so maybe you weighed Josh in a plateau. You could weigh him in a few days time and find he's put on 100gms. When I had mastitis and Jett got his 2 week weigh in he had lost 35 gms. So of course I stressed out a little (partly due to the health nurse making me think I wasn't doing enough) but when he got weighed 3 1/2 days later he had put on 255gms. In 3 1/2 days!!!! I couldn't believe it, and got a bit angry that I was made to feel that I wasn't doing the right thing by him. And I hadn't actually done anything different. They told us to wake him up and feed him at night, but we just couldn't. We tried, but he refused to wake up... we thought something was seriously wrong with him! So please don't lose heart, we all know that you are doing everything you can for him.

Ok, I'm going to get myself something to eat and then try to take Jett out somewhere for the afternoon.

    Big hellos to everyone!

Congrats on dd, i havnt bought pull ups for about 2-3 years. He been doing his own bedding on top bunk i might add since he was nearly 5. Still no luck wet bed most nights he is such a heavy sleeper and doesnt even wake.. poor little grown up 7 year old man!

Thats's great Squidipa, how is his length going? Length is a good indicator that he is growing rather than just putting on weight IYKWIM.
well vic he was measured the other week at 56 cm 5.5 cms up on birth.. we measured today and struggled to get 54cm so 3.5 up from birth.

he is asleep finally after wind pains! I wish he would gain more weight dont want to do comp feeds. i cant even find my breast pump any how which is probably good.

Thanks mummy tummy some times at night he also refuses to wake even when i strip him down or blow raspberies on his tummie.

    great temps this week end.

Just a quickie, got the attachment thing sorted better I hope, will see how I go for the next feed... did a full feed both sides, but not a lot IYKWIM, still massaging these blocked ducts, but she was moving the milk a bit more so hopefully we will have them sorted soon.

We had a weight loss though, 20grams, hadn't had an actual loss for about 7-8 weeks, can't really afford it as she has only been gaining half what the paed wanted anyway.. so I have to comp feed her for the next week, as I can't express enough I am going to have to buy formula (which really upsets me, the last thing I wanted to do). after getting home I gave her a top up of 40ml of EBM, and 15min later she chucked up at least half of it what a waste!! So ti will be both boobs then a top up, gee I hope if she chucks up its the formula and not the boobie milk!

So we have a big week ahead, she has to put on weight, might need to bring back some of the old cheers! Or we are back to see the Paed again, damn it!!! Worked so GD hard to get to this point......

Oh Vic I'm so sorry to hear about Nakita's weight loss And what a bummer to have to comp with formula when it's so not what you wanted

COME ON NAKITA, STOP CHUCKING UP MUMMY'S MILK!! KEEP GROWING LITTLE GIRL - YOU CAN DO IT!!

(thought I better keep it a bit smaller than before so we don't get into trouble again!! )

MT - it's ok to take your time with your first!! I just have so much to do and get organised every morning that I have no choice but to be busy!!

Squidipa - Veygas last night woke about every 2.5 hours and fed for 5-10 minutes on one side only each time!! No matter what I did, he wouldn't wake to feed more - he was like a floppy rag doll! But they all do go through different stages I reckon!

Thanks Squidipa - I really hope so too, either way I will continue bf'ing, what ever she gets is going to be good for her, I just wish I was producing more....

I think someone did measure wrong, he is a bit young to be shrinking!!! Still good growth, if you do top up will you continue with bf'ing? Yay for the computer being fixed!

None of my kids ever took to the bottle this young ... not even with EBM ... although DS2 was OK to take a bottle from about 3 months old (if I remember right), but I am still having great difficulties trying to get Veygas to suck the bl00dy DUMMY!!!! And I KNOW that half the time, he his just wanting to suck for comfort (he prefers to suck my finger than the dummy!)

When I was drying him after his bath last night (an extra long one cause he's basically only had a couple of "bird baths" / sponge downs since surgery, so now with the dressing off, he could have a proper bath!!) I realised how much scar tissue is under the incision - I know it will eventually settle, but I wonder if he finds it uncomfortable at all?

We had a "two-hour-night" last night - I think he might be having another little growth spurt, but I am finding since his op that he's not taking in as much with each feed as he was before (I wonder if his stomach or something is smaller?? The paed surgeon did say that he also had to mend a tear in his stomach lining in addition to removing the hernia ... ) Poor little thing must have been in so much pain before ...

to everyone, I think I might start preparing dinner while the little man is sleeping!!

    Hello ladies!

Beema ~ Sorry about the feeding issues and weight loss. I hope your Little Miss picks up soon!

SquidPea ~ I am still trying to work out the mystery of your shrinking baby! LOL. We get that at work too sometimes, everyone measures a little bit differently and it can mean the difference in quite a few cm's!!!

MM ~ Seven flatly refuses the dummy too, and it would make life a touch easier if she did, but you can't force them can you!!!?!?!?!?! My Mum will be offering Seven a finger feed during our wedding ceremony if she gets hungry because its not like I can feed her while saying my vows!!! But I will be breast feeding her during the reception. We have decided not to offer bottles until I have to go back to work. I want to enjoy this BF'ing experience as long as possible. DS was BF until 16months, but he also went back and forth between the bottle.

Seven fed hrly yesterday and went 2-3hrly overnight, so I think she is also having a growth spurt. They tend to around 4-6wks anyway.

    Hi to everyone else!

    Love & Hugs

What, you mean, you're not gonna stand there in front of everyone, pull down (or up) the front of your wedding dress and feed while saying "I do"?? Now that would be a sight!!! (you know I am just kidding around right?)
