woah.. gab is so unsettled i cant do anything to get her to settle..and bf isnt going to well atm either... im at the point where i want to stop, but gab wont even take ebm from a bottle.. atm at night she feeds then sucks for up to an hour, if i take her off she wakes again... and she wont take a dummy .... argh so stressy atm

    Morning girls..

Lea - Arab has been really unsettled since last night and I have been unable to settle her either. DS cracked the shytes this morning because she wouldn't take the dummy in the car, she just kept shaking her head around and not sucking. Hope you get some rest.

Kristi - I am off to the dr's with Arab today because she has a heap of spots that are now in her ear and have started weeping. Will let you know what he says.

Well, as I said to Lea, Arab has been so unsettled, which is very out of character for her. Am starting to wonder if she may have a bit of reflux because she vomits heaps and has started to get really upset just before she does a spew. I did get a bit of a fright in the dim light last night, I thought she had vomited blood but it was a heap of browny mucous. She doesn't sound chesty and she is bringing up lots more this morning.

Better go and get ready, man I hope she doesn't chuck a tanty in the car.

    Hi Kel:
god idea to talk to the dr if you feel the need, at least that way someone else is looking at you not you just trying to judge yourself. To answer your question....not sure when it gets easier with the kids, but i think its "you" that changes not the kids, i can just cope with no sleep.....One of my kids will wake at least every 1-2hrs i can not remember the last time i got 4 hrs in a row, but i am just so se to it now

Kristi: Congrats on feeding so long, you should be proud.

Lea: Thanks for your text. Tom is screaming beside me (nappy off time over im guessing LOL) so watch out for pm.

US: had a good trip to sydney. Am tried now.... Got to airport 6pm - flights all full so went to hotel, Tom down at 10, Grace awake til 11, tom fed 1 eve awake at 2, still awake at 4 so get kids all together, at airport 5am, home at 6.30 due to DLS! and we have to do it all again on saturday LOL...im insane Eve had mozzy bits, i think thats why she has such a bad night
Thomas is such a good little boy, going great guns. Thomas too is out of 000. will have to weigh soon

Sorry i missed to maany of you. will do better when DS is not screaming LOL LOL LOL

Lea- C has had these spots for ages though. Its only just dawned on me that maybe its something else than hormone spots. Who knows, i will ask the chn when i see her next Sorry to hear Gab has been unsettled, i hope she settles soon for you.

Nic- Thanks for that, i will be interested to see what your dr says about the spots. Sorry to hear Arab is unsettled too, she sounds like C gets with the head shaking. I think C has reflux too. I hope she settles for you soon.

Milly- Sydney sounds full on, well done for coping with all that, it sounds like the kids were playing tag. Thomas is out of 000? Are you serious? C hasnt even gone into 000 yet, shes still in 0000.

Me- C did an ENORMOUS vomit this morning. Ebonee was feeding her and i went out to the bin and came back in and E was crying saying C is sick mum, shes sick. E was in quite a state about it all. I went over to them and C was covered from neck to toe in vomit, E was covered in vomit and the couch was covered in vomit. She must have brought up most of what she had just drank. Poor E thought she had done something to her, i had to explain to her it wasnt anything she did.

    Have a good day girls

i hope both you and nic get the spots sorted, seeing as nixon was soi robust at birth i never imagined that anything could go wrong with him , until around 6 weeks he devloped ugly spots/rash .. it then turned into "baby exma" and by the 3rd doctor i had seen i was worried as each other doc dissmissed it as "milk pimples" , the 3rd doc told us it was exma and treated it with in days .. he was covered in it . poor boy in the qld heat , it was not fun ...

Kristi : i cant believe myself that i forgot about nixon having the exma .. it didnt even click that it could have been something else the C may have .. sorry about that .. best to get it checked and if your not happy with the answer go somewhere else ..

milly .... how fun a weekend away with 3 young ones ... hope you got that drink in the end

well , since about 4 am this morning Gab has been awake with the farts ... phew they smell off ... she is squiming and i have to keep picking her up becasue she wrrigles off the pillow i have her resting on .. she also has a huge blue ring around her mouth....a moment ago she spewed and i can smell it .. bleugh for somthing so beautiful , she sure puts out and odour..

touchy topic here , but yesterday i had gabriellas ears pierced..she did really well and screamed for about 2 secs before i put her ont the boob and she was fine..she got gold studs with her birth stone in them ..DH thinks she looks so pretty in them and could not stop looking at his litttle lady ..

might try and see if i can get to the docs this arvo, get her 6 week check done, i cant wait to see hoe heavy she is , im guessing 4.6 and 51 cms .. and i want a referral to a nice LC who will help me with my sore bb ..

Well, the honeymoon seems to be over here. Gone is my placid little baby, she screamed for nearly 4 hrs last night. We were sent straight to the hospital from the dr's yesterday because she still is jaundiced, the spewing, screaming and the rash on her face.
They are pretty sure that it's reflux and she got some medication for it. We did speak with a surgeon because it may possibly be pyloric stenosis causing the projectile vomiting. My son had pyloric stenosis and we went through months of hell so am hoping that the meds do something for her.
It also turns out the rash is exzema, geez it doesn't just rain here, it pours

Lea - LOL, no cute smelling baby here either, A just stinks of vomit and poo all the time. I got my DD's ears done when she was about 14months and it looked so cute. I would get A's done but she has the exzema all over and inside her ear.

Kristi - Yep all of the above for Arabella, reflux and exzema. She has got some thrush on her tongue too, so I'd say that's why she's fussing at the breast so much. Last night was so bad with her screaming, I am just not used to it and didn't know what to do. The worst part is that I have no one to hand her to when I need a break. Am thinking of getting my mum over for a week because I haven't even been able to get the kids to school on time or even cook a meal for them - feeling a bit like a failure today.

Milly - Oh how sad that Thomas is out of 000's, Arabella has just gotten into 000's and they are still a bit big on her LOL. Girl I don't know how you do it, good luck on Saturday.

Aaahh, off to wash the gazillion bibs, blankets and suits that are covered with spew now. Talk later. xx

    hello everyone
sorry to hear about the problems some of yous are having and i hope things start getting better soon
my son had terrible excema the docs gave us cream that made it worse the only thing that worked for him was to put him on soy milk formula and paw paw ointment gave him a bit of relif
lucys skin was starting to get red and dry so i stopped using baby soap and started using goats milk soap and her skin has gotten heaps better
lea- i am so jealous no one over here will peirce lucys ears until she is 2 and some places wont touch them until they are 5!!!!
    bye for now

Lea - funky Av, must pull my finger out and get rid of my pg belly LOL..

LL - I might give the pawpaw ointment a whirl because I am a little dubious about using anything from the dr's, most of those exzema creams they prescribe thin the skin layers if used too much.

Well, just got back from the chemist and I'm $65 lighter, eek, I nearly fell over when they told me how much the bottle of stuff was for the reflux. Hmm, wonder how long it will be til I see any difference, and if I do see any diff.. DD is asleep in bed with DF atm, yaaay for a little break, so I went and had a swim. So good to cool off because it's disgustingly hot here.

Catch you all again later, hopefully after we all have a restful night

    hi girls ...

sorry so long between posts but man where has the past week gone ... i think too much has happened to catch up on personals at the moment so I will do my best to catch up over the next few days .....

My aunt has been over for visiting from Dubbo whilst my parents are holidaying in Tassie so I have been spending time with her catching up and going out a bit and then the long weekend DH had a full 3 days off so we had some well needed family time and him home on a weekend and not working - YAY !!

Have also been working from home too so at the moment whenever I have free time and Ali is sleeping I need to work to get this event and AGM organised ... I have flights and accommodation and registration to organise for all our members and our staff so I will be busy me thinks !!!

Ali gets her injections tomorrow not looking forward to them at all and since my mum is away my aunt is going to come with me for moral support and then she will stay with us and have dinner esp until DH gets home from work ....

Ali got the milk pimples as well and in the heat they flare up even worse than normal .. they have started clearing on her cheeks but are now spreading to the back of her ears etc .. I took her to the dr about them as well and he said they are normal and it can last until she is 12 weeks old but not to do anything to them .... so we have left them and they are s l o w l y clearing up ....

I read somewhere today that chocolate can give babies wind and whenever I eat it I think it affects Ali so my days of enjoying some chocolate are well and truly over I think .... bummer .... but worth it for her to be wind free .... has anyone else know what triggers affect the wind in bubs?

Will try and catch up on personals and I hope everyone is doing well ....

    Mel

    Hi girls,

Lea- Thats ok hun, thats what im thinking too, its not milk spots, its like eczema or an allergy but so far, like you were, im being fobbed off, i will write about that later in this post. Poor little Gabby, i hope you have a better night with her. I dont think theres anything wrong with getting babies ears pierced. I hope the 6 wk check went well. Can you beleive our babies are due for their needles soon.

Nic- Sorry to hear you have been down the hospital but i am so happy you have finally got a diagnosis. I hope the meds work well for her. I hear you about the crying, when C looks like shes going to start i want to run and hide, im not used to having a baby like this either and sometimes i just have to let her scream for a bit so i can get things done for the other kids, i feel so bad about it. I think its a good idea to get your mum to come in and help.

Tasha- Its funny you should say about the soy, cos i put C on soy formula on saturday and today i noticed some improvement in her skin. I think i will try putting the papaw ointment on it tomorrow and see if it helps. Thanks for that.

Melsta- Good to hear from you, its been ages since i have seen you around. I hope Ali's needles go well tomorrow. Sounds like you have been very busy. I hope you are getting to rest still.

Me- My chn came today and she said the rash is milia (she didnt have a close look though), but i googled milia and it looks nothing like that at all. This is red, raised and has a texture to it. Its all over her cheeks and head, and her ears are dry and rough. Interestingly, i have just changed her formula to soy and in the last 24 hrs i have noticed improvement, which is what Tasha said helped for her son when he had eczema. My chn said to take C to a paed about her reflux, so i will get onto getting that sorted out. Shes done alot of the swallowing and gulping noises in the last 24 hrs. Today i went shopping and having C upright in her pram helped her to be very settled.

On a positive note, a talk to my OB and a phonecall from my chn to the meds in pregnancy number, found that i dont have to give up breastfeeding to take this new med they have put me on . I had TWO gp's tell me i had too :? Im so happy i mentioned it to my OB. That said though, shes been fussy on the bb the last couple of days and just seems to want to use it as a dummy, i dont think shes getting as much out as normal. So i will have to try and persevere with that, probably express to try and build up my supply if its that. Far out, how can something so natural be so hard.

I hope you are all well

    Hi girls,

Lea- . I hope the 6 wk check went well. Can you beleive our babies are due for their needles soon........................

Shes done alot of the swallowing and gulping noises in the last 24 hrs.
i am more scared to take her to get her needles than i was to get her ears done !!

and what do you mean by those noises ??? Gab makes them every feed , swallows heaps of air and when she is finished her belly is hard , and then the slightest movement makes her spew ... she was asleep so i tried to put her in her cradle , then as soon as i put her down , her eyes flew open and a huge spew followed ..

or do you mean the swallowing is her swallowing the bile that rises ??

gab makes strange noises like her breath has been taken away or as if she has been hit in the tummy and has to take a breath in ...it comes out all strange and strangled .. bit scary when she does it in the midlle of the night ..

i never got in to see the doc for her check up .... will go on monday after dh's physio appt , that way he can look after nixon ... i need a pap aswell , so i hope gab doesnt start screaming while im having it done .. it would make me tense ..

im glad you can keep BF kirsti .. hope you get your supply back ... gab uses me as a dummy all the time

any way , got a lovely surprise yesterday when a nice greenish ford fairlane giha drove in the drive way instead of my little rav 4 ... i had been complianing about how tiny it was and i need a bigger car , we were going to get a territory but the loan didnt go through ... so scott bought me this one ...OMG talk about nice .. it has everything .. top of the range .. oooh im so happy ... BUT it is a V8 i was complaining that i needed more than 4 cyl .. but i would have been happy with an extra 2 , not 4 ...

it was a trade in at his work ( meaning some man had an already posh car , but traded it in to get an even more posh car ) and scott saw it and bought it .. not going to complain though , we get a free tank every few weeks when scott does 24hr breakdown service ( he works for Merc.) i guess were lucky to have insider knowledge on something people spend alot of time and $$ on ...

    have a good day !!

    good morning girls
yay! my son is coming home today after spending a week and a half with his dad oh it seems like hes been gone forever
kristi- i also had to change the washing powder i used on nathans clothes too...couldnt use anything with too much purfume, he had it real bad it looked like he had burns he still gets it every now and then especialy after swimming lessons which start next week but the only thing that ever work was natural remedies...i never trusted anything that didnt come from the chemist i was alway sceptical of natural things( i dont know why???)
lucy had a big dry spot on the top of her head which is better now but all the hair there fell out so she had a old man hair style thick around the sides but nothing on top but i looked this morning and its finaly growing back but i looks alot lighter so she might be a bit two toned for a while
looks like the weather is finaly starting to fine up here so we might head out for a walk
hope everyone has a great day

OMG Lea, i think its disgusting that you got Gab's ears done, i mean really how could you........Did you even think about the bribe you were giving away for nothing LOL... just imagine how well behaved my girls will be for the weeks leading up to the big even LOL..... now you have to admit i had you there for a moment! I bet she looks very cute

...if you want to talk about a touchy topic....i dont want to immunise Thomas.....I will mostly but on my own timeline and only the ones i feel he needs. I have dont a lot of research since Grace was born and i am happy that i am making the right decision.

Feeling great at the moment..not really looking forward to move travelling next week but hay, i said yes....

I just love it when that 6 week mark comes, suddenly i have all this energy again. Yesterday and today i have been on a cleaning mission. The house was ok but you know yourself when you just havent done that "good" clean. So have been on hands and knees scrubbing the grout on the floors and wall in all the bathrooms, i also moved all the lounges so i could sweep and mop. I am loving all my enjo as you can clean all day and not get a headache from the smell. Have been lucky the girls have been playing well so i could get all of it done.

Thomas has been asleep for 4hrs and 5 since a feed...boy does he make some noises and wake/cry/back asleep a few times, i think i am reacting to him too quickly at night....im going to ruin him is i keep worrying that he will wake the girls....what a juggle they all are

    take care

    Hi girls,

Gee it's been a while since I've written anythign!

I just can't find the time and motivation lately. I do keep up with what's going on though And this week has been a busy one for us.

Kristi, first of all...my goodness, what are you doing up and posting at 3am???? I can barely get my boob in Liams mouth at that hour, LOL!
I hope you can figure out what Chardonnay's rash is and get her reflux sorted. Poor little mite she's having a rough time of it huh? And yay you don't have to give up bf'ing!!! That's great news. And I hear you on it being hard, I am only now starting to enjoy bf'ing Liam. And only now is it not hurting so much anymore. It's no wonder so many women give up!

Lea, you lucky chicken, getting a new car, woohoo!!!! I'm jealous, I wish I could get one. And I got Lily's ears done when she was 5mths old, well DH did, LOL!! Hope all is well with you guys

Tasha, LOL @ the hair, it sounds cute, hehe!! It must be tough for you to have shared custody of your son. I bet you missed his!! But it would also be kinda nice to have a bit of time to your self occaisionally? Though at the age of your son, they kind of do most stuff for themselves huh?

Milly, ikwym about immunisations. I am a bit iffy about having it done too. But I will probably get it done. Though the more I read about it the more nervous I get and the less I want to. Gosh you're lucky to get 5hrs out of Thomas between feeds, I'm lucky to get 4 and then he wakes screaming bloody murder for some booby!!! We're still on 2-3hrly feeds here. At night it's usually 3hrs, with one 4hr break usually. In the day he's 2-3hrly....no wonder I barely get anything done, LOL!

We have been busy this week, Monday it was grocery shopping and dinner at my bro's, yesterday we had my SIL and neice and nephew over, as well as a friend her bub, today it was playgroup and to mums for a while, tomorrow there's a BB meet up that I will go to, Friday it's a visit from my aunt and cousins! Woah, I haven't had a week so busy for aaaages!! It's good though since DH is working and I am keeping busy, no time to wallow in self pity when the kids grumble at the same time, or that I'm so tired! Hehe, talking about tired, I fell asleep on the lounge at mums today, LOL! She was talking to me from the kitchen, and watching Lily (who loves to demolish cupboards, and mum lets her do it at her house) and when she came back to the lounge room I was asleep with Liam on my chest! I just can't sit still, or I fall asleep.

Ok Hi to everyone else I missed, I hope everyone is going well and your bubs are being nice to you, LOL! Time to go....

    Hi girls,

Lea- The gulping noises i meant are when shes not feeding. She makes lots of swallowing and gulping noises and she also does the thing you mentioned where it sounds like they have run out of breath, she makes this sort of squealing noise, seems to hold her breath and then more squealing and she breathes again............and so do i. I hope the drs goes well next week. I thought i would be having a pap at my 6 wk check but i got away with it, then i realised im not due for one until december, so i guess i will be having one in a month or two. WOOWOO on the new car, how exciting!! It sounds VERY flash

Tasha- Washing powder is another thing to keep in mind, thanks for that. So far on the soy it seems to be settling, its still there but nowhere near as bad as it was the other day. Yay on your son coming home!!

Milly- I was the same worrying that C would wake the kids up, but she doesnt seem too. We have had her screaming at night and the kids seem to sleep straight through it.

Kel- Ive been sprung again Lea has sprung me posting at the same hour before, it seems to be my only time in the day to get on and post. I have had mega crazy insomnia since i gave birth. S L O W L Y i am starting to get to sleep a little earlier, but not by much. Although, i am in Perth too, so 3am is 1am for me, or actually 12am with daylight savings. I hope i can get C sorted out too, im not used to having an unsettled baby, the other 5 always just ate, slept and pooped. I cant get over how hard BF is and how it changes from day to day too. Some days you seem to have it going well with no pain and good attatchment etc, then suddenly you have some bad days where your nipples get sore again, then its goes good again. It is no wonder so many women give up, like you said. It sounds like you have had a very busy week, thats good, its good to be busy. Though nice to not be as well. I hope you can get some rest and not be so tired soon.

I attempted a trip to the park on my own with 5 of my 6 kids today And it went well!! They were all well behaved and i didnt get stressed at all. It was quite hot here today. I seem to be getting more energy too. Yesterday i went shopping and bought C some clothes. I hope to get to do some scrapbooking soon. I have taken about 400 photos since C was born, have to get them printed yet. Then theres the other thousand odd pics i have to scrap since before i had C, have to get onto it before i get too far behind.

    Have a good day today

kristi , im so glad you changed you ticker pic , i was wondering the other day what she looked like , not that the other one was bad , ykwim.. she is beautiful and looks like she loves bath time

had a bas night with Gab last night ... colic hour hit as soon as dh got home ( he came home early at 5pm ) and that was it she was off ... i barely got dinner done , normally i take pride in my home made lasange making it all from scratch , but last night it all got bunged in one pan then slapped together then shoved in the oven .. it turned out ok though , but not the way i'd have like it ..

after dinner it was bath time and i barely had time to wash my bum before i had to save her again ... poor dh he was juggling nixon and gab and me ... no wonder after things calmed down he cleaned up under the house for some solace .. but mean while i had to change me and gab coz she spewd on me about 5 times ... i had just got her to drift off and put her in the cradle , she turned her head to the right and spewed , then after a clean up , turned her head to the left and spewed .. then got really fussy and started to search for boob ( thats how i know she needs a burp , if shes fed , but still looks for boob) and bam as soon as i picked her up i was coverd in it .. it was thick and slimy and smelly vomit ... and then she wouldnt settle , dh came up stairs to find me bf in an awkard position upside down in the bed ... once i got her settled i didnt want to move ..

i know DH put her in her cradle last night , but when i woke up she was next to me i must have been half asleep grabbed her out and fed her as my boob was out ...

i must not have coffee in the arvos any more ... well i never usually do . but yesterday i slept all day , gab was in the papasasn asleep and nix was at day care , so i napped till 3pm ... and couldnt get out of bed .. so i grabbed a coffee .. and then last night i was wide awake ...

it could have been why gab was cranky .... i always drink decaff but i couldnt be bothered getting the capp. machine out , so i had instant ... i think i have learnt my lesson ..

i have the 6 wk check on monday .. but i get a male doctor .. so i think i will pass on the pap .. im too embarrassed , i will only get one if he mentions it .. i still dont feel like having anyone down there atm..

have fun at the bb meet up today kel , you sound a bit happier . lol at you falling asleep ... i always get that affect when ever im at my MIL's house

have a good day everyone !

Lea - congrats on the new car hun !! What a nice suprise and it definitely sounds like it has everything it needs ... new cars are always fun getting to know them and driving around until you are used to them ... sounds like a tough night for you last night with poor Gab ... hope today you have a better one and can have another nap to refresh !

Kristi - well done on getting out ... It takes me forever and I only have Ali and I but being out in the park would have been nice with all the fresh air etc .. so many photos you will definitely be busy scrap booking .. ! You will have to post some when you do them so we can have a squizz !!

Kell - wow you have had a busy week .... do you find after such a busy week you crave time at home? Good that you took the opportunity to grab a sleep when you could too !!! Nothing like power naps to recharge us busy mums !

Milly - wow hun do you want to come to my house and clean lol ... I need to do a big clean like that and the house cleaner my mum got me for after Ali's birth has finished so tomorrow I have to clean up but I dont mind doing it ... Nice that your energy burst has arrived too

Tasha - Enjoy having your son back ... a week and a half would seem like ages esp when I cant get through an hour at mothers group without Ali !! Hope you managed to get out for that walk and enjoyed it ...

Well Ali had her injections yesterday ... it hurt me more than her to see her so upset and scream like she did for all of 2 mins though .. after that she was fine brought her home, fed her and she had some panadol and she was fine .. had a bit of a rash last night but all is good today and she is sleeping at the moment so I am managing to get some work done for my old job plus doing washing and dishes and everything else that needs doing.

Had her measurements done at clinic yesterday and she has grown 5cm in 2 weeks and is now 5.1kg so she is doing well indeed .... love watching her grow and listen to her babble so much ... i can hear her babbling in her cot now even though this is meant to be sleep time !!!

My aunt is cooking me lunch today which will be nice so will head over there in a couple of hours but I am craving being at home so I can keep her routine and be organised .. she feeds 4am, 8am, 12noon, 4pm and 8pm then sleeps and has been like that for the past 3 days so I dont want to mess with it too much now as it is working well .....

Hope everyone has a good day and hi to anyone else i missed

    xo
