Well, the honeymoon seems to be over here. Gone is my placid little baby, she screamed for nearly 4 hrs last night. We were sent straight to the hospital from the dr's yesterday because she still is jaundiced, the spewing, screaming and the rash on her face.
They are pretty sure that it's reflux and she got some medication for it. We did speak with a surgeon because it may possibly be pyloric stenosis causing the projectile vomiting. My son had pyloric stenosis and we went through months of hell so am hoping that the meds do something for her.
It also turns out the rash is exzema, geez it doesn't just rain here, it pours

Lea - LOL, no cute smelling baby here either, A just stinks of vomit and poo all the time. I got my DD's ears done when she was about 14months and it looked so cute. I would get A's done but she has the exzema all over and inside her ear.

Kristi - Yep all of the above for Arabella, reflux and exzema. She has got some thrush on her tongue too, so I'd say that's why she's fussing at the breast so much. Last night was so bad with her screaming, I am just not used to it and didn't know what to do. The worst part is that I have no one to hand her to when I need a break. Am thinking of getting my mum over for a week because I haven't even been able to get the kids to school on time or even cook a meal for them - feeling a bit like a failure today.

Milly - Oh how sad that Thomas is out of 000's, Arabella has just gotten into 000's and they are still a bit big on her LOL. Girl I don't know how you do it, good luck on Saturday.

Aaahh, off to wash the gazillion bibs, blankets and suits that are covered with spew now. Talk later. xx

Lea - funky Av, must pull my finger out and get rid of my pg belly LOL..

LL - I might give the pawpaw ointment a whirl because I am a little dubious about using anything from the dr's, most of those exzema creams they prescribe thin the skin layers if used too much.

Well, just got back from the chemist and I'm $65 lighter, eek, I nearly fell over when they told me how much the bottle of stuff was for the reflux. Hmm, wonder how long it will be til I see any difference, and if I do see any diff.. DD is asleep in bed with DF atm, yaaay for a little break, so I went and had a swim. So good to cool off because it's disgustingly hot here.

Catch you all again later, hopefully after we all have a restful night

    hi girls ...

sorry so long between posts but man where has the past week gone ... i think too much has happened to catch up on personals at the moment so I will do my best to catch up over the next few days .....

My aunt has been over for visiting from Dubbo whilst my parents are holidaying in Tassie so I have been spending time with her catching up and going out a bit and then the long weekend DH had a full 3 days off so we had some well needed family time and him home on a weekend and not working - YAY !!

Have also been working from home too so at the moment whenever I have free time and Ali is sleeping I need to work to get this event and AGM organised ... I have flights and accommodation and registration to organise for all our members and our staff so I will be busy me thinks !!!

Ali gets her injections tomorrow not looking forward to them at all and since my mum is away my aunt is going to come with me for moral support and then she will stay with us and have dinner esp until DH gets home from work ....

Ali got the milk pimples as well and in the heat they flare up even worse than normal .. they have started clearing on her cheeks but are now spreading to the back of her ears etc .. I took her to the dr about them as well and he said they are normal and it can last until she is 12 weeks old but not to do anything to them .... so we have left them and they are s l o w l y clearing up ....

I read somewhere today that chocolate can give babies wind and whenever I eat it I think it affects Ali so my days of enjoying some chocolate are well and truly over I think .... bummer .... but worth it for her to be wind free .... has anyone else know what triggers affect the wind in bubs?

Will try and catch up on personals and I hope everyone is doing well ....

    Hi girls,

Lea- Thats ok hun, thats what im thinking too, its not milk spots, its like eczema or an allergy but so far, like you were, im being fobbed off, i will write about that later in this post. Poor little Gabby, i hope you have a better night with her. I dont think theres anything wrong with getting babies ears pierced. I hope the 6 wk check went well. Can you beleive our babies are due for their needles soon.

Nic- Sorry to hear you have been down the hospital but i am so happy you have finally got a diagnosis. I hope the meds work well for her. I hear you about the crying, when C looks like shes going to start i want to run and hide, im not used to having a baby like this either and sometimes i just have to let her scream for a bit so i can get things done for the other kids, i feel so bad about it. I think its a good idea to get your mum to come in and help.

Tasha- Its funny you should say about the soy, cos i put C on soy formula on saturday and today i noticed some improvement in her skin. I think i will try putting the papaw ointment on it tomorrow and see if it helps. Thanks for that.

Melsta- Good to hear from you, its been ages since i have seen you around. I hope Ali's needles go well tomorrow. Sounds like you have been very busy. I hope you are getting to rest still.

Me- My chn came today and she said the rash is milia (she didnt have a close look though), but i googled milia and it looks nothing like that at all. This is red, raised and has a texture to it. Its all over her cheeks and head, and her ears are dry and rough. Interestingly, i have just changed her formula to soy and in the last 24 hrs i have noticed improvement, which is what Tasha said helped for her son when he had eczema. My chn said to take C to a paed about her reflux, so i will get onto getting that sorted out. Shes done alot of the swallowing and gulping noises in the last 24 hrs. Today i went shopping and having C upright in her pram helped her to be very settled.

On a positive note, a talk to my OB and a phonecall from my chn to the meds in pregnancy number, found that i dont have to give up breastfeeding to take this new med they have put me on . I had TWO gp's tell me i had too :? Im so happy i mentioned it to my OB. That said though, shes been fussy on the bb the last couple of days and just seems to want to use it as a dummy, i dont think shes getting as much out as normal. So i will have to try and persevere with that, probably express to try and build up my supply if its that. Far out, how can something so natural be so hard.

I hope you are all well

    Hi girls,

Lea- . I hope the 6 wk check went well. Can you beleive our babies are due for their needles soon........................

Shes done alot of the swallowing and gulping noises in the last 24 hrs.
i am more scared to take her to get her needles than i was to get her ears done !!

and what do you mean by those noises ??? Gab makes them every feed , swallows heaps of air and when she is finished her belly is hard , and then the slightest movement makes her spew ... she was asleep so i tried to put her in her cradle , then as soon as i put her down , her eyes flew open and a huge spew followed ..

or do you mean the swallowing is her swallowing the bile that rises ??

gab makes strange noises like her breath has been taken away or as if she has been hit in the tummy and has to take a breath in ...it comes out all strange and strangled .. bit scary when she does it in the midlle of the night ..

i never got in to see the doc for her check up .... will go on monday after dh's physio appt , that way he can look after nixon ... i need a pap aswell , so i hope gab doesnt start screaming while im having it done .. it would make me tense ..

im glad you can keep BF kirsti .. hope you get your supply back ... gab uses me as a dummy all the time

any way , got a lovely surprise yesterday when a nice greenish ford fairlane giha drove in the drive way instead of my little rav 4 ... i had been complianing about how tiny it was and i need a bigger car , we were going to get a territory but the loan didnt go through ... so scott bought me this one ...OMG talk about nice .. it has everything .. top of the range .. oooh im so happy ... BUT it is a V8 i was complaining that i needed more than 4 cyl .. but i would have been happy with an extra 2 , not 4 ...

it was a trade in at his work ( meaning some man had an already posh car , but traded it in to get an even more posh car ) and scott saw it and bought it .. not going to complain though , we get a free tank every few weeks when scott does 24hr breakdown service ( he works for Merc.) i guess were lucky to have insider knowledge on something people spend alot of time and $$ on ...

    have a good day !!

    good morning girls
yay! my son is coming home today after spending a week and a half with his dad oh it seems like hes been gone forever
kristi- i also had to change the washing powder i used on nathans clothes too...couldnt use anything with too much purfume, he had it real bad it looked like he had burns he still gets it every now and then especialy after swimming lessons which start next week but the only thing that ever work was natural remedies...i never trusted anything that didnt come from the chemist i was alway sceptical of natural things( i dont know why???)
lucy had a big dry spot on the top of her head which is better now but all the hair there fell out so she had a old man hair style thick around the sides but nothing on top but i looked this morning and its finaly growing back but i looks alot lighter so she might be a bit two toned for a while
looks like the weather is finaly starting to fine up here so we might head out for a walk
hope everyone has a great day
    Tasha
