I find that all kids have periods where they are hungry and then not! best to ignore it i say. And just dont offer then an unhealthy choice just to get them to eat. Dinner is dinner and if they are hungry then they'll eat!

Jen, how's things with the kids going? Ihope they're doing a bit better. I know how frustrating it can be. And how it can get to you and make you feel down.
I agree with Milly about the eating thing though. I don't make a different meal for my kids. I make sure there is something on the plate they will both eat, but if they don't eat it, too bad, they do not get another meal. I give them the choice of eating their meal until DH and I finish at the table, usually about 30-45 min, and then clear the table. They then get the choice of fruit or a carrot if they want it. Maybe once or twice a week we have a dessert, like yogurt, icecream, fruit and jelly....and they get that if they TRY dinner. They don't have to eat it all, just taste what's on their plate. I don't stress. DS is pretty fussy. He won't eat much meat or veggies, he's also difficult to get to try things. He will only do it on his terms. DD is a better eater and will try most things, and eats a pretty good variety of everything. I serve everyone up the same meal every day, whether they like it or not. If it's something I know someone won't eat I just put a tiny bit on the plate, so they can't say I'm not eating (whatever) if (whoever) doesn't have to. They have what everyone else has. Somedays one of them will surprise me and try and then eat something they've never eaten before. I agree that your DH won't help anything by getting angry about it if J doesn't eat. I read/heard somewhere that you should take kids food intake over a week, not a day. So one day they will eat non stop and the next day they will eat like sparrows, but over the week it evens out. Try not to worry. If she's healthy, energetic and happy, she's fine!

AFM, I am feeling much better. The kids are on the road to recovery and are sleeping better, which really helps me feel better. Looking forwards to this Wednesday when DH and I have soem time alone together for the first time in ages! The kids are going to day care and DH has the day off. I will be going to the GP to see what they will suggest for me, see if I do in fact have depression. LOL, DH and my first day together and I'm dragging him out on a date to the GP!! But after that the day is ours! Other than that no news...very slow out here in the sticks!!
Hope everyone is well and had a great weekend!

AFM, well we have had an horrific few days, or weeks even!! The kids have been sick with colds and then Lily got slapped cheek and Liam got croup. Lily vommited a few times so I guess she had a tummy bug too, tho nothing too terrible. Now Liam has just vommited at the dinner table mid way though eating....I was fighting the urge to join him. I left DH to deal with cleaning it- he has a stomach of steel, I used to working in childcare but when I'm pg, particularly this pg, I just can't stand the smell or anything about it! Plus my gag reflex is so sensitive, I gag even when I brush my teeth... So I'm hoping it was just a one off thing and he's eaten too much or something and he's not going to be up all night puking every time he coughs I'm waiting for him to vomit again....He isn't sleeping well as it is. Since he's been sick he's been waking in the night absolutely screaming the house down and othing but going to watch tv in the lounge room will settle him....so not what I want to be doing adn a terrible habbit for him to form, but I can't deal with the screaming and I don't want him waking Lily. He wakes for a hour or more at a time I so don't know what to do...and having him sick again well, it's just the icing on the cake!! Can't wait til they're better! They're jumping off the walls at the mo, so it seems the vomit was just a once off!
I went to the doc and he agrees I probably have depression. He's given me a referral for a psychologist. I ahve to make an appointment. I'm hoping she will have something to help me (though preferably not medication...)
Ok, off to put the monkeys to bed...hope all is well and weveryone is enjoying hteir long weekends!

Oh Kellie: sounds so tough at you house at the moment.

I am a huge believer and fark the habbit im starting - but do what ever i have to to get through this stage.

As it is all stages, some just feel longer than others. But draw strength from the thought Kellie that we all get to that point where we dont cope that well. And thats the time to remind yourself that you are doing an amazing job and the hardest job in the world 24/7! and you have two other little kids too take care of while pregnant! In a country town with NO support!

pat yourself on the back and take a does of confidence! Be up yourself because NO ONE could do as well as you are with your kids at the moment. We all give 100% for what when can when we can so yes that varies but again, im doing the best i farking can here people!!

Be proud, know that kids really really dont remember this times, good or bad.

so if some days you it to bed and think 'thank god thats over' then remember it IS OVER. Dont start tomorrow worrying about all that you didnt do yesterday!!!!

Love you huni and know that i know what a hard job it is and i think you are doing a great job!!!

And that is Millys rant for the day

Thanks Amelia, you're gorgeous! How are you going, how is bubba? Are you still working? Gosh if you are you must be buggered!

Well, we've had a few good days, though today is heading into bad day territory, lol! I'm not feeling great, plus we had a horrible night with both of the kids tag teaming each other all night. I was awake every hour. I have no idea why becaus they have both been sleeping through for four or so days....I just wish they would sort their s hit out! And I wish they had have slept this badly night before last because thye went to childcare yesterday and I could have had a sleep! But nooooo, they have to torture me with sleep deprivation! Ah well...the joys hey??

Not much else happening here, we lead a rather quiet life!

How is everyone else? Danielle, Jen?? How are you and your monkeys?

I've kinda been here but lurking a bit....

DS has been a little nightmare lately getting into soooo much mischief, usually before I wake in the morning!! he called to let me know he'd covered the tv in sudocreme... this morning he climbed onto the kitchen bench & got into some chocolate powder & bubble mix, ate some & again did some painting I have quite a bad headache atm, on the verge of a migraine so I'll log off & come back another time.

    Hope everyone is well xxx
