mm, don't go to Rocky. It's a hole. Actually, if you go up on the mountain and looked down the lights spell HELL (how do I know? Thats where Shel proposed! Nice huh! PMSL!). We go there every year to visit friends of Shel's (she used to live there, but she smartened up and moved to the Sunshine Coast lol), and you know how people say 'nice place to visit, wouldn't want to live there'... its not even a nice place to visit!
LOL, sorry to anyone who thinks it is, I'm just not a fan!

    .....

mm... did I mention Rocky SUCKS big time!
Ah, yeah Leash you did!!! Heaps of ppl DP works with reckon it's nice, but I've never been there, and like I said, to far really in the middle of freakin' nowhere for my liking. But then again, I don't wanna live too close to brissie either!! I'm just LOL!!

As for moving for work / more money .... sure hun, I'd do it!! If DP got offered a job in upper kumbukta west (wherever the hell that is!!) that paid more, I'd so DO IT!!!! LOL! While I was doing my primary teaching degree, he said he'd move for me ... but I've abandoned that degree for now (got sick of studying!! )

Pixie - glad you had a good time away. And hope you're having a good day today chicky!! And I'm glad you got a laugh out of my "living conditions" LOL!!!

Kel - hope DF is recovering well for you hun! I bet it would have been scary!!

Squidipa - hope the nipple shields help sweetie PLEASE DON'T LOSE HEART ... remember we are ALWAYS here for you!! You are doing a FABBO JOB!!!!!

Hi to everyone else - gotta go, kids are in trouble!!

I would say you are a large then!

Yoou can only but try them, and it will be great if it turns out that it was an attachment issue all along. But bear in mind your supply may have dropped a fair bit if he has not been draining your supply effectively But also give the Australian Breastfeeding Association a call, as they can help you how to build your supply back up again if need be. Their number is (07) 3844 8977 or (07) 3844 8166 or e-mail them here HTH
Woohooo then maybe i am not just the average gal then haha . I never thought of what u said your right my supply may have been dropping off because of the attachment issues. Plus ive noticed more supply since watching the video on attachment so thats helped but from what you said it still leads me to believe maybe just maybe i am not reaching my boobbie milk potential. If you could call it that! Thanks for the numbers it will come in VERY handy!! I am at the moment feeling pretty good with myself as this may have fixed a huge part of the issues.

I have noticed tho with the shield that attachment is different i cant egt the bottom part of the tissue in like fore but i am still feeling the breast have the let down. Going to weigh Josh on monday hoping on same weight as Wednesday or a gain. Just to put back the loss would be great at this point getting more wet nappies tho yay!!

Big Hugs Squidipa for the loss of weight, sounds like the shield is doing the trick, at least he can now stay on!! yay!!

With the pumping I would recommend just pumping after each feed to build up enough to see if you can get a full bottle/feed I would recommend 120-150ml for Josh, it may take a while as it depends on what your supply is, and please don't get disheartened if it isn't a lot, as after a full feed I hardly get 5-10ml, then try a full express and give him the bottle instead.

You can join MT and mine expressing parties each evening! We express, discuss what we have expressed, what has been different about that day. etc.

Got an update on my SIS, she will be in for at least 5 days,
Your right about if i am going to pump doing it after a feed didn't think of that hey good point! Love the idea of an expressing party :lmao.... Funny how much our brains are constantly learning i am on baby 4 and still learning.

I am sooo soo soo happy your SIL is o.k would be great for dr to find out whats going on. Probably good thing she is staying few days at hospital.

Sorry for the lack of personals i'm pretty tired we spent all afternoon at the hospital DF had a massive fall down our front stairs. The hospital was soooooo busy they apparently had a few fatalities this afternoon. We never heard the results of his xrays as we would had to of waited 7 hours!!!!! theres obviously nothing broken and he's strong and not showing any pain or discomfort but I know he would be hurting. boy did he scare me
Thanks Sweet for your on going support I have sent you a private message it is ridiculous after a fall and you still would have had to wait 7 hours!! how long did ya wait. On Saturdays we were there for 8 hours in total. I can understand you would have been scared if it was my hubbie i would have strangled him cause i would have been so scared. Ya know like when ay kids hurt them selves and ya get angry cause ya know what COULD HAVE HAPPENED !!! yeah like that! How did it happen did you see it? O.k enough questions now :lmao o.k maybe some more How The girls going? How ya coping? Hows the sleep? and feeding going??

Oh yeah, and squidipa - Nakita has shrunk too!!
18 days ago she measure 56cm, today she measured 55.5cm!!! First time her growth has stalled, but she'll be right!
Oh and we decided on a swing, the Fisher Price Rainforest Cradle swing, goes up to 11.3kg,
Hope thats wing turns out to be the best investment especially if your going to have more kids???????. We have a swing too but not like one of those but even still BOY do we use it we have rechargeable bateries constantly on charge two sets one on the go and one to charge.

Yeah with the nurses measuring him they always get different measurements so it seems he has shrunk twice lol Not really but ya know what i mean.

You girls .... i am having trouble keeping up on all your posts in between feeds and this post has taken me so far about 2 hours.

I have a toothache and the ache has spread to my jaw and ear.
I have a question for you guys. Would you move for money?
Your post was so long and so is myn so had to just pic something rather than everything to comment on leasha.. sorry

Hubbie also has a toothache i do understand the whole thumping ay self in the face thing as stupid as it sounds tho . You poor things *big Huggles* Hope it goes away soon! Can u see a dentist?? I am like you i think you mention your wisdom teeth coming and going as they grow. Well i am 28 and still waiting for them to finally finish growing some times nothing for ages then its all on. Hope yours finishes soon.

As for moving for money well i would be asking this.
Will a mortgage make me happy? is this what i want? If so at what cost?
Does it bother me being so far away from family no mater whom they are? At what cost i this o.k with me?
Are i content with where i am at now?
Will i be happy to stay here?
these are just a few i would be asking myself as money is not everything. and weigh up the answers BOTH of you Good luck!

We took a bunch of photos which you can check out
the photos are great was showing hubbie and we were like is that pool heated was it??? as bubs was so happy what happeneds if she pooped? or did you have some sort of nappy swimmers on? Photo's are great!! she looks so cruzzie in that pic on the orange i think it was pillow. I so hear ya on lost of postings i am so trying here to catch up haha! Thanks for your kind words and encouragement it means alot to US both!

Squidipa - for 35 minutes, you must be sooo happy! Keep persevering with it hun, if it keeps Josh happy and means you are less stressed then it is worth it.

Sorry you had to use a dummie But if he is happy now and rested thats what counts i guess. We use dummies here hey i got to 41 mins feeding so yeah im REAL HAPPY!!!

Squidipa - hope the nipple shields help sweetie PLEASE DON'T LOSE HEART ... remember we are ALWAYS here for you!! You are doing a FABBO JOB!!!!!

Hi to everyone else - gotta go, kids are in trouble!!
They are helping heaps i hope the kids didnt get up to to much bad stuff. Typical you take a moment for ya self and the kids get up to things.

Now to me well i normally get 118 mins total feeding time in a day that includes the pulling off time too witch is on aprox about 50 -60 times in that time period. Now today i have had in total 143 mins so far today my best feed time is 41 mins YAY mayeb the problem is fixed will go ge him weighed tomorrow to chck weigh gain and not more loss.

He hasnt pooed in 4 days now??? hrmmm dr said this is o.k as they can poo for few days then not for few days so i gues sill wait a bit lonegr hey. Anyone else had this issue??

Also i need a new tube for my pram tire does anyone know where to get them cheap and about how much are they i need a 12 1/2 x 1 3/4 tube.

Gonna post this now been typing on off for 3 or 4hours ill add more if i remember anything i left off.

squiddy - the pool wasn't heated but it was soooo warm up there it might as well have been. She loved it - it was just like a great big bath! We got her a swim nappy from k-mart - $10 I think. You just wash them out if they have been used. At first I thought of those huggies ones but since they don't fit until 7kg we bought this one from Kmart and it was great
anyhoo, BBL for more personals, got a bunch of stuff to do before madam wakes up!
    have a good one everyone!

Vic - congrats on N's weight gain!! way to goooooooo!!! WOOOOT!!!! I hope the stroke wasn't too serious... awful things they are..

MM - LMFAO @ your town comments.. ****.. sooo funny..., you definitely have to move up here!! LOL

Sash - the weeks fly by huh.. I usually lose track of how many weeks she is now.. like now.. can't remember.. PMSL....

Squidipa - I'm sorry Josh lost 50g.. thats not good - but its not too bad on the grand old scheme of things - keep pluggin on honey - you know we all think you are doing a wonderful job. And I know what you mean bout the nipple sizes.. lol.. I had that same thought before I had DS...

Kel - I hope your partner is ok?? That sucks about the waiting time - but I have heard that about the hospital - my sister takes her kids to redcliffe if anything happens!!

Leash - lemme know when you want me to come around for another play date (even though the kids don't play yet... but they can lie next to each other and burp in each others faces.. I've always found that amusing when I do it to someone.. ) Oh, and it depends how much money.. I've always just gone with what the town can do for me - if I will enjoy living there - money comes second..

    Pixie - welcome back babe

    Think thats all.

DS slept in his big boy bed last night for the first time - we got it from IKEA will post pics later he just woke up so gotta quickly post this and goooooo...

Miss M slept through again last night - last feed at 6pm - next feed - 6.45am - yahoo!! She is much better going between feeds than her brother was...

KYE IS 2 months old today!!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Firstly Kye is 8 weeks old today

Secondly thought I would ask you all - Kye has been drooling quite alot the last couple of days, and has dropped down alot in the amount of formula he is drinking at each feed (like maximum 100ml) and has been extremely grizzly this afternoon.

Do you think he could be sick? I'm sure it is nothing to worry about but it is just so UNLIKE him...... what do ya's all think?

    Hi Everyone,

Sorry, it's a me post! It can only be a me post when I am up this early.

Have had a shocking night, and nothing to do with Jett either. He has slept like an angel all night. I, however, have not!!!

I'm still battling this laryngitis or whatever it is now. Losing my voice, horrible dry cough, unless it is being a flemmy cough etc and so yesterday I pretty much stayed in bed all day. I even sent Jett off with DH to a BAthurst BBQ without me so I could rest. So now all that sleep I got in to try and knock this thing on the head has gone to waste as I have only slept lightly off and on through the night. It was one of those nights where you lie there awake wishing the night would be over so you can get up and stop trying to sleep! Plus it was a hot night here which didn't help.

*TMI Alert* I seem to have lochia back. Anyone else had this? My lochia lasted 2 days short of 6 weeks, and then a week or so later I got a couple of days of the brown blood back. I thought fair enough, one last cleanout and that should be it. But here I am again, this time much worse - thick brown paste which has lasted a few days now. I was told when I was leaving the hospital that it would come and go in waves over the next 6 weeks so not to be alarmed. But I am almost 10 weeks now. Anyone else experiencing/experienced this?

On a brighter note, I got a book called The Wonder Weeks, and it is fantastic - so far it seems to be spot on. It talks about all babies reaching particular mental milestones at certain weeks in their life. It is really interesting reading and easy to read so if you can find yourself a copy either to buy or borrow I recommend it. Apparently our babies are going through one of these milestone leaps at the moment. Between the weeks of 7 and 9 you are likely to experience them being more cranky and clingy than usual as they adjust to their new perception of the world. It is as they develop their skills in the 5 senses. The weeks are judged by the bubs EDD, not their actual birthdate, so if your bub was born early you go by when they should have been born and same if they were born late. The next one is around week 12....
Oh and Sasha - the dropping down the amount of food intake during this time is a symptom of this milestone leap and they will go back to normal when it all ends!

Ok, I hear my little man stirring.... time to go feed

hrmm it could be going to take him to dr today as last night his cough became constant all of a sudden and he had big lots of clear flem coming up it was all gewy like snot like there was HEAPS it was like a massive handful that came up. He was cough cough cough we put vicks on him and on his feet that slowed the coughing but not before he threw up in bed with flem again. Poor man hubbie slept on DS7's matris in bedroom next to DS3 at 12am i woke hubbie to say his coughing ha stopped wanna come get into bed with me. But when i saw him there mouth wide open i climbed in next to him saying this brings back memories hehe. As when we first live together he slept in my lounge room on the floor till marriage.

Thick brown paste which has lasted a few days now. I was told when I was leaving the hospital that it would come and go in waves over the next 6 weeks so not to be alarmed. But I am almost 10 weeks now. Anyone else experiencing/experienced this?
yes yesterday i was shocked to find brown in my undies i was like hey what the i bleed for 8 weeks this cant be right. I thought maybe lifting furniture did it and i got pains in my tumie but they eventually went away so i dunno. Your not alone in this as i am getting that to i put a pd on as i thought over night maybe i was gonna get a period but nope no period dry clean pad. Dunno whats happening.

I hope you get over this quickly, Its terrible when ay know ya need the sleep and your body just wont coperate. Hows the throat? What are dr's saying???
I HATE and i mean HATE with a passion being sick i have had a sore throat for 10 weeks now yesterday it started to get a bit worse tho.

Sounds like a great book i have one called the new parent and it great as its written for men and women very simple to understand but tell hubbies what women are going through and how they can help in being a dad and also the otehr way round what men are going through and how to allow them to help out so they arnt being left out with all the mile stones too. Like sounds they should be making and how to encourage certain things. Had it a long time but still seems so good

Finally josh is back to his normal sleeping pattern stirring at 4 4.30am with rooster. and feeding between 5-6am yay he started sleeping his night sleep during day and stirring all night especially round 3am. so now we back on good sleeping. With me still forcing a sleepy feed in at 10ish he sleeps round 8 till 10 when i force feed while he is sleeping then doesn't wake till 4.30ish with rooster.

I am so happy with my 1 hour feed . took him off after that i thought you must have had enough for sure didn't want him sore and all IYKWIM?

gotta remember to check pool the stupid chlorinator box aint working and looks like owner wont replace it meaning we are forking out cash to constantly keep chlorine up in pool. GRRRR might call them about it its not like the real estate don't know. The pool shop have been over there i have spoken to them a couple of times. Seems all a bit sus seems like the owners have bought a new box but not installed it as the pool shops records say it was purchased for this property a few days after we moved in. Obviously i would know and i can tell ya now IT so didn't happen. I think they bought one and didn't put in in and claimed on their taxes as matenace on their rental property.

    Kiwi girl how ya going?
    CM4E how are ya?
    Hi to everyone else.

Yep I am another one too experiencing the comeback of the yucky brown stuff. Mine started on Thursday just before I was about to go to see the OB -
When I was there he asked me if I wanted him to check down there, I had to explain to him that it was probably best he didnt

MT - thanks for the reassurance re: kye. I might pick up a copy of that book myself and read it.

Well we are off today to have Kye's immunisations done at 9:30am Hopefully the day will not be another cranky one like yesterday!

    Have a good day everyone!

Gave him some panadol as soon as we got home and he is crashed out now, hopefully he will sleep for a few hours so I can have some time to do some things
It's a nice day here today so am gonna catch up on all the washing as the past few days have been overcast.

Off to get something to eat while the boy is asleep... back later maybe!

    MM - you snob you

Sash - thats great that he took them so well.. its not easy holding on to them when they are screaming in pain.. poor little mites..

Squidipa - i would probably get a doc's note about the allergy to the seat belt and give it to the day care lady so she can see that its not just something that you are being anal about for no good reason.. landlords huh.. can't live with em.. can't kill em...

We'll have to worry about all that stuff when we sell our house here and rent somewhere else.,.. that'll be strange, having to rent again!!!!

Well DD is grinning at nothing and cooing at nothing in her rocker - perhaps we have ghosts..

DS is sleeping in his big bed again.. he drank out of a big boy cup for the first time just before.. no sippy cup or anything!! Just a normal cup.. and didn't spill!!! Was very proud of my big boy....

Hmm... yup.. gotta have another baby now... don't have two babies anymore, got a big boy and a baby.. LOL

why u selling to rent may i ask??..... Congrats on the normal cup thats big buissness and to be back in his BIG bed again haha. Bring on the babies.. i am thinking of falling preggers around march next year maybe.

sasha thats great about the needles i didn't give panadol and it was good cause int he end we didn't need it no fever here!! yay!!

Thsi morning we went to the clinic to weigh josh on their scales as its good to keep weighing on same scales was hoping that maybe the 50 grams loss was due to different scales and josh has been feeding so well since the shield on friday. We were pretty exited to and realistic we were hoping on eithor 80 grams gained over the weekly weigh in on 8/10 or at least same weight if he has in fact lost weight.
    Here are the stats

    Birth weight 3410 grams
16/9 6 weeks 5 days 4040 grams weighed at Cab clinic
23/9 7 weeks 5 days 4200 grams weighed at Cab clinic
30/9 8 weeks 5 days 4280 grams weighed at Cab clinic
1/10 8 weeks 6 days 4310 grams weighed at Cab clinic
4/10 9 weeks 2 days 4400 grams weighed at cab Hopsital emergency
8/10 9 weeks 6 days 4420 grams weighed at Cab clinic
10/10 10 weeks 1 day 4370 grams weighed at local drs
13/10 10 weeks 4 days 4390 grams weighed at Cab clinic

So im yeah just confused at to whats going on.... there obviously was a weight loss but why??? that means on my weekly weigh in this Wednesday its going to be pitaful. What am i doing wrong? any ideas he seems happy and contented drooling lots.... was dripping from my arm today unsure if that was the teething or the pizza he was looking at haha :lmao Seriously tho whats going on.

Ive gone from a 20 minute feed that would include 20 pull off at least and a few brief burping's, to 35 solid mins. Before the total of time feeding including pull off and brief burps was between 101 and 117 mins daily now we got 177 mins and thats with OUT the pull off or burping. So whats wrong with my little man it's baffling i dont get it. The shield is fab so breast feeding is ruled out as he is not detaching now the tounge tie is also ruled out. My milk is there constantly no pancakes only after the feed briefly till next feed. so ummm what medical condition is it i am thinking ????? The heart murmur is gone its not that! We are even getting heavier wet nappies. we are on day 6 no poo think in last post got day wrong but checked log book this morning.

Also found that DS doesnt have chicken pox he think infected hair folicals bu i am not convinced as i know what they look like he always has them but hey he gave him anti bioics i wonder if it will help his cough. I tried to get dr to write not to daycare he wouldnt he said he needs to be officially diagnosed so i asked for referal to test for allergies. Also got referral for josh to see pead due to weigh gain issues.

I am just in a state of confusion here regarding weight gain thoughts anyone???

Squidipa - I tried to reply earlier but BB wouldn't load up properly. I have no idea really what could be going on. I have suggestions though... maybe it is your supply due to attachment issues earlier and you now need to give it time to build back up. It is fantastic that the nipple shields are working so well for you now though. I think as long as Josh seems happy enough at the moment, just wait and see what happens over the next couple of weeks.

    Anyhoo, I'm off to bed...

    Hi all,

Went to the dr yesterday... my toother infection is also an ear infection now too (and I got a lecture on how I have to go to the dentist... yeah yeah too bloody expensive). I also have mastitis. Woke up yesterday morning with a red, hot lumpy booby. And it HURTS. And my head hurts, and all my muscles ache. BLEH... It's killing me feeding her but as its my left I have to because nothing ever comes out when I express on the left. Am on antibiotics, but have had a fantastic fever when gt up to 39.4 yesterday morning, then 38.8 yesterday evening, and then 39.6 last night at 11pm. I sat in the bath for 45 minutes yesterday, and last night at 11pm, which seems to be the only thing that brings it down. Am dosing myself up on panadol now to try and keep it at bay, as I don't handle fevers well, I just feel dead but with Shel at work I've gotta look after Jazz (otherwise I'd just go to bed LOL). If it hasn't cleared by Friday I've got to go into hospital for IV antibiotics and to clear it out... I think its getting better though, it still hurts and is lumpy but the redness is going so fingers crossed hospital won't be necessary.

Jazz is suffering in sympathy with me too apparently, when I start feeling half dead she screams like she's feeling what I'm feeling.

WIll come back for personals, but just wondering I think I read a few people have had mastitis... is there anything you did to clear it out? Its so sore and hard on the outside of my left boob... should i be positioning her in maybe a football/clutch hold to get her to empty the boob properly?
