squidipa - my guess is 200g

sasha - love that pic of kye, he and e have such similar builds! they even look a teeny bit similar to me in that pic

thepixie - aww yay for a spa treatment!! i have been looking at getting a massage or something as a treat. i am experiencing the same sagas with e trying to take a EBM bottle right now - haven't done one in ages (oops) and he's not taking them now tried twice with no luck. i really really want to go watch beckham play on dec 6 so will keep trying.

vic - lol at weighing n's poop! e has gone 6 days and then massive poop, then another 6 days and two massive poops. We're on day 3 again now lol.

hi everyone else, hope you had a fantastic weekend.. and thanks for all your birthday wishes on FB. had a fab bbq at our place with about 20 friends.

AND.... a year ago today i found out i was pregnant! we were in london on our round-the-world trip. i snuck out from our hotel and got a test because my bb had been a bit sore and i was wondering (no other signs tho). i remember buying the test cos it was so expensive! did the test in the hotel bathroom and then came out and told dh (who was watching tv). we were happy but more reserved than when i got my first positive test (which ended in a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks) but it was so nice to have that news a couple of days after my birthday.

when/how did you find out you were pregnant?

    Good Morning

Rach I was reading your status on FB and I went back to my blog to see the dates when I found out Here is my blog post from the 11th December, my first post, slightly edited (but it was a private blog until I got to 12 weeks) He he for the every 6 days, I really must take more notice of the days, but it has seemed to be be Saturday afternoons/early evening

"After waiting for quite some time DH and I decided that we couldn't be bothered waiting for out new house to be built that we would just give TTC a shot and see how we go, it can take a long time so we thought yeah this could take a few months or more so we'll be right!!

After the first month of TTC I met with my Dr about a month before for the dreaded PS, and spoke with her about us TTC and she just asked about what supplements I was taking and we also spoke about my gym work - as I was worried that I could push it too hard and do some damage. So after reassuring me the everything we were doing was fine, month 2 of TTC started.

I was a bit more relaxed, but when the TWW arrived I got myself so stressed out, wrote myself off and told myself that it wasn't going to happen this month, and went and spent the day at Victor with friends (I wasn't the chirpiest of people, but I don't think anyone noticed!!). It was a great distraction - but deep down I was shattered, kinda hard not to get caught up!!

I had been burping since the 29th of November, not just the occassional burp - a lot, and it was kinda funny!! Then cramps and got woken up one night with sharp pain in my BBS, and was a little nauseaus, but I said to Roy and myself nope, not this month.

Anyway I thought I would prepare for the testing - decided that I would test 2 days early as I wanted to do at least one POAS - it is fun!!! So on the Monday I bought supplies to cover all bases - good and bad!!

After writing myself off during month two of TTC I was absolutely shocked to find that I had a big bright BFP!! I had convinced myself that I was not UTD, and couldn't believe my eyes when at 5:50am on the 4.12.07 2 lines showed up straight away - OMG!!!
    YEAH!!!!

So I quickly booked an appointment with my Dr that day as my Dr told me there is a massive shortage of OB's in Adelaide and I could end up waiting a long time for an appointment, (unfortunately my Dr was on leave and had to see another Dr), and appointment was 45 minutes late - not helping my nerves.

When I told the Dr so was very excited - more than me it was beautiful, she rang the office of Dr A B (OB) to see if she was available on my expected date, and great for me she was, so with the referral letter and phone numbers in hand I left the Dr's in a little daze, jumped in my car and rang the OB office straight away to book all of my appoinments in. First Midwife appoinment with S is on Monday 7th January, and my first OB appointment is on 8th February four our first US - yeah!!!!

In the meantime we are taking care of our little Jelly Bean, and sending lots of love.
Ahh.... We are on Cloud 9
    xxoo"

    for your angel baby Rach

Pixie - Yay for the sleep-in and the spa treatment!! Which reminds me I must book in for my facial and use the voucher before it runs out very shortly!!!

Well must go and have a shower and do some more work while Nakita has gone down for her sleep.

    Hello all
WOW it has been a year already since we were all clutching our and racing onto BB with our pants still around our ankles to tell everyone, how time flies

Squidipa- hugs chicky and I guess hmmm 200g too

Vic- I hope everything goes well with baby number 2 I have a friend who had a baby the same gestation as you had miss N and her second was two weeks over due.
Poor Daddy geting covered in poo I hope he has a strong stomach hee hee

Kiwigirl- Just looked at the pic I took of my BFP and the date says the 7th of December but I think I tested earlier and got an extremely faint cross. I had only slight AF cramping no other signs oh except my due date which I worked out to be 13/08/08 when my first born was due on the 13/05/05 I knew it was a sign what were the chances of having dates like that!
Sorry to hear of your loss

The pixie- The day spa sounds sooooooo nice. LOL about the bottle confusion Allegra does the same thing then gives me this real cranky look to say noooo thats not what I want MUM!

Mel- I bought 2 new larger bottles with a faster flow teat and Allegra cracked me up when she was pulling faces while trying to keep up with the flow the first few times. How is Miss M going in childcare? I have an enrolement form for Allegra as I may need it in February back to work YAY YAY.

Sasha- WOW what a great routine you have K in I'll give you my number and he can baby chat to Allegra and tell her to do the same hee hee. Thats great he loves swimming

MM- sounds like you have a real mummies boy there (makes the most of it remember they grow up and don't really like giving too many cuddles)

    Hello to everyone I missed

We cleaned up Cadences Highchair yesterday and Allegra loves it she sits up high and looks down on Cadence and the cat. She has been ok with sleeping lately but my routine of going to bed at 10:30 has gone right out the window as someone still wants to party till midnight.
I have had Allegra on both boob and formula for a bit now and she's doing alright she's not packing on the weight like I thought she would be.
Better go and start to get organised for my orthodontist appointment ouchie ouchie!
    Take care everyone

I am really hoping we get to go to term - don't think I will be too thrilled about going 2 weeks over What was caused your friends bub to come early?

Daddy doesn't have the strongest stomach, and he was yelping out holding Nakita up in the air and poo dripping everywhere, I just wanted to look and enjoy laughing at him for a while, but as it was going to get the couch I have to get a towel

racing onto BB with our pants still around our ankles to tell everyone, how time flies
I still don't know how I didn't blurt it out at work, i must have had the hugest grin on my face!!

Hope the orthodontist app goes well!!

Got a good amount of work done today, and if N stays asleep a little longer I will get more done!! So better run!

    Hi All

    Hehe Kel
you did soooooo well to hide your pregnancy AND the sex of miss N
It was tricky, but in the end I just had to smile at everyone's guesses, sooooo many people were certain it was a boy cos of the way I was carrying!! Little did they know!

Yay about the gap closing, did he say how long that might take?

Glad to hear you got through your appointment Squidipa, hopefully you can now move forward and leave all this behind

I am buggered, went to work for 3 hours, worked at home, flew into the city to doa few jobs and then went to yoga, got home about 8.30pm, and my lovely DH was cleaning the floors

So I cooked up some lovely Veal Schnitzels from the farmers markets with a mountain of vegies (I love my vegies atm, have to eat a lot of them ) I am off to do my evening express and then get an earlish night as I have an 8am meeting, with the national Landscape Design Manager for Delfin Lend Lease, so I have to be on the ball

Huge Hi to everyone else, hope you had a good day and havn't come down with a dose of Mondayitis!!!
    Cheers!

Smile Attempt to catch up - yet again!

    Hey Everyone!

Sorry I have also been MIA. Been busy out and about - I haven't even been on BB to read posts let alone actually post! Normally I get the reading in at least!

Squidipa - I hope it is your last appt too and things only go onwards and upwards from here. Oh and my guess for Joshies weight is 195gms. But I hope you get more!

Kel - Yay for getting braces off soon!

Rach - Thanks for prompting us to share our BFP stories. I remember being so excited... so it is good to remember it all again!

SB - Good luck with the move if you don't manage to get on here beforehand!

Mel - Wishing Aricyn a speedy recovery from here! And yay for you have the perfect baby... whenever I think I have Jett's routine figured out he goes and changes it on me so I have just given up now and go with the flow! The only thing that is hasn't changed is that once the last feed is done (around midnight) then he will sleep through to morning. Usually about 7-7.30, but sometimes earlier and sometimes later!

Sasha - Kye is just doing so well and that pic is just gorgeous! What a spunky boy!

Pixie - spa treatment sounds lovely! There is a lovely day spa here that I go to (they have a hair salon attached which is where I get my hair done) and they do the best pedicures, absolutely amazing. I would love to try some of their other treatments but I feel so self-indulgent so I don't. I keep dropping hints that it would be lovely but nada! Funny thing is that when we are stuck for ideas for presents DH often suggests getting a voucher from there for people!!! I just wish he would think of getting me one too!! Oh well So kudos to The Bear!

MM - I know how you feel with the clingy bub, Jett has been like that over the weekend too. I am wondering if he is beginning to teethe too. He is really chewing and gnawing on things - his fists, his thumb, his dummy, my fingers... but he has no other signs so I just don't know! He keeps shoving his dummy in to the side of his mouth and going to town on it! And when he grabs my hand or finger OMG I can't believe how hard he gnaws!

to everyone else I have missed... Leasha, Kell.... and anyone else my poor brain has forgotten!

Last year DH and I decided that it was time to start TTC and so I went to the doctors to have the dreaded PS which I hadn't had done for 5 years (oops! ) and while I was there I discussed my plans with my doc and she gave me some great advice and sent me for blood tests to make sure everything was set to go for the journey, along with the advice that this often takes some time and to prepare to not get a positive result for up to 12 months. So after that visit we decided that we would wait for the next cycle to start trying. My blood tests came back all ok, but my PS was 'inconclusive' which meant I would need to go back for another test next cycle. Not ideal when TTC. I ummed and ahhed over it all, but decided that we would not actively try, but just see what happens and would actively try the cycle after, after the PS had been repeated. I realised that I didn't actually know alot about my cycle in terms of length or predicting it so I started temping in an effort to know how long my cycles are and my ovulating patterns, but in so doing I also knew when I was ov-ing so DTD at the right time was not exactly difficult!! So, I bought some tests ready to POAS and decided that I wanted to POAS without knowing if AF was just around the corner or not just for the fun of it. So I did... on the 28/11/07 I peed, looked at the test for a few minutes, grew bored and left it to have my breakfast. I went back about 20 mins later and there was a faint line. Faint, but no mistaking it was there. I was shocked But having looked 20 mins afterwards I wasn't sure if the line had come up after the 10min limit or not. So I tested again the next day, and yep, there it was, darker and within the 10mins. I still couldn't believe it, so I went and bought a different brand of tests and tested again the next day. Yep. No doubt about it. Figured I may as well use the other test in the pack too so did that a few days later. Still yep. Still couldn't believe it so I bought another pack of tests and tested both tests again through the week - I think all up I did 7 tests!! Needless to say when I went to my doc for my repeat PS and told her I was UTD she didn't give me a blood test!! I was soooo not expecting it and know that I was very blessed to get my on the very first cycle, but I still don't know how long it is!

when/how did you find out you were pregnant?
Rach - I just looked back on the photos I had taken of my home tests and the first one I took was 2nd December so must have a celebration on tuesday hehe

I was sitting reflecting the other day thinking I can remember saying last year on Xmas day "this time next year we will have a 4 month old" and now here we are, where has this year gone!!

Squidipa - I'm glad you got through the day, big to you hunny! I am hoping tomorrow is a better day for you and you get a good gain with Joshie.
    My guess is around 200g

Kel - had to laugh when you commented about Allegra partying all night. K has always gone to bed fairly early; takes after me in that department LOL
Re: weight gain - I can give you some of K's weight for Allegra if ya want .... he's got an extra kilo he could afford to share

Anyways will keep this short, K woke up all snuffly, think he might be coming down with a cold
Managed to get some spray into both nostrils and he settled again without me having to give him a bottle - hes such a good boy!

K has also decided he is a big boy now and doesnt need to be wrapped at night time; probably explains his snuffliness LOL. I always put a sheet and blanket over him when I put him down but yep if I wake up during the night and check on him he has always kicked it off and is just lying there with nothing on top of himself. He will quite happily sleep like that all night too, strange child!! LOL

Anyways me is tired, back to bed I go..... byeeeee!

    Hi all

When did we find out I was pregnant - hmm.... well we DTD twice that cycle - one on day 9 and then day 16 - then along came day 28 and it was a saturday, and I'm like.. hmm.. I'll do a test anyway - just random - and it was positive. Didn't believe it until I went to the docs on monday morning and had a blood test, rang them up for the result a few hours later and they confirmed over the phone that I was UTD. So I started getting all teary and my workmate (who was there holding my hand for the blood test and the phone call) got all teary too.

I then emailed DH to let him know that we were expecting another one!!!!

Anyhooo - got a little boy here who is bugging the crap outta me cos he wants to play with the puppy dogs. I'll be back later!!!!

To our thread Beckoes A lovely bunch of chatty Mums, Bubs and the Bear.
Grace is a beautiful name, one of the ones we were considering
Nakita was born on the 30th June but was due on the 14th August, so I stayed with my Belly Buddies when they moved over here as we didn't relate very well with the bubs in the June group!

MM I hope the teething isn't too painful for Veygas! Lots of hugs!

Kel, hopefully you get rid of them in less than a year!! Allegra looks soo cute in the highchair and has the same problem as Nakita - struggling to look over the tray!!

I hope you get to have a huge party Squidipa!!!

Sasha, hmm what's better, little sleep during the day or sleeping all night? I hope he is feeling better and hope the cold doesn't get any worse

Mel I can't believe you told DH over email!!!

MT I loved your story, just beautiful I did 3 tests, and I think i still have them in a zip lock bag!!!

Well been crazy busy day, got to work about 7.45am, worked until 11:30am, bolted home, cooked some bacon, egg, mushroom, tomato and cheese pastries (yummo) and grabbed some fresh cherries (our irrigation guy owns a cherry farm as well!!) and went to mothers group, was a lovely day, then post office and back home. Nakita hardly slept and has been grumpy, she is asleep in the swing atm but I will wake her in 15 min, give her her last feed them into bed for my little munchikin Then I can do a load of nappies, down to one Pea Pod so better get them on the line!!

    So better run!!!

beckoes, good to have you on board! Mel and I are also in the July group, cause our babies were so fashionable they were nearly 2 weeks late!
Mmmm I think the Bear was telling me I was pregnant but I was in denial about it. He was in Singapore for work but I was talking to him on the phone while I did the POAS. I was going to wait until the morning but the Bear couldn't wait LOL The line was really, really faint, so faint I couldn't be sure .... I think I did about 3 in the end!
Kel, love the photo! will have to get a high chair for DD
    Vic - you're such a dynamo! LOL
MM congrats on the home loan! how exciting!
Sash - Beth kicks off her blanket too, have to get her a new sleeping bag. The old one that came with her hammock says 0-6 months but she doesn't like it any more cause it restricts her legs kicking around! She hates to be tied down!
well had a good day today - had coffee and cake with SIL, drove Bear to the airport and then went round to my dad's place for dinner. Saw my brother and his g/friend who is six months pregnant.... came home gave DD a feed and put her to bed! Bay walk tomorrow so fingers crossed the weather is nice!
anyway gonna hit the hay shortly so to squids, melski, MT, rach and everyone else, have a great night

    Hey Everyone!

Welcome Aboard Bec and Grace. You are more than welcome to join in and there is no such thing as being too late... unless you try to join when your bub is 6 years old! I think we get disbanded then!

Sasha - Sorry to hear Kye is sick

MM - Yay on the home loan! Exciting times ahead! I hope you find a house soon, not like us. We looked just about every weekend for 6 months.... but it was worth it. I love my house!

Kel - I commented on your highchair photo - so very very cute!

Hi Mel, Leash, Rach, Kell, SB and anyone else I've missed!

My day has been interesting....sort of. Went for my usual Tuesday morning walk this morning which was really nice. The weather was fantastic, lovely and sunny but not too hot. Tyson, my dog, absolutely loved it bounding around the open spaces, playing with other dogs he met and chasing birds and rabbits. Jett seemed to enjoy it too, stayed awake the whole time. Did a massive poo when we got back though! He seems to have cut his poos down to every 3rd day now. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not... on one hand there isn't a whole stack of pooey nappies sitting around ready to be washed, but on the other hand when there is one OMG!!!! mg:

Then this afternoon we got notification that one of my SIL called Lifeline last night and was now missing. So we did a lot of running around trying to locate her. She came home tonight, so is no longer missing and at least she is safe. But she is denying calling the line and now my other two SILs have told her that we don't know so we have to pretend we know nothing. Not going to be easy. I wish they hadn't and were just truthful about it.

Ok, I'm off! Will chat more tomorrow!

MT - I'm glad your SIL was found - and yes, people just need to be more honest...

Kel - thats a great pic.. she loooks soooo relaxed..soo verry chilled out.. man...

Vic - nooo not down to one nappy!!! lol... I hate that feeling.. luckily it hardly ever happens here - unless there has been 5 days of rain or something *cough cough*

MM - yay on the loan - looking to the sunny coast for houses? hehe

Hmmm.. Aricyn is chucking a tantie.. dunno why.. he asked for "mulk..." then "cow" which is his words for "can i have a yoghurt please mummy" and then i get it for him, and he runs off and starts bumping his head into the carpet.. meh.. I'll never understand toddlers..

Been a few rough nights here - I suspect its the bath water that she has swallowed - her belly doesn't like it... well. thats what I THINK has been the problem.

Arrghh now toddler is annoying me... better go!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi to all

:Mel and I are also in the July group, cause our babies were so fashionable they were nearly 2 weeks late!
    leap:
Grace was born almost two weeks over her due date aswell, was almost induced but luckily went in to labour a day before i was due to have the induction.

Squidipa: congrats on your little ones weight gain.

Saw a few photos, have to try and work out how to get a photo of Grace on here.

Kel84, mountain mummy: checked her gums and they look abit swollen and white, and seems much happier when chewing on something (anything) . so could well be teething!!

Well, been struggling to get her to sleep in the days much, even though i can see she is so tired, we have an electric rocker we used when she was a baby and that is the only place she will sleep in the day, although she will be too big for it soon...try every sleep time to get her to put her in her cot, but she just screams till she is beside herself. sleeps great in there at night.
Also,I have been wrapping her since birth and she has just started to get herself unwrapped and wakes up...was up every two hours last night to re-wrap...should i try to teach her to sleep unwrapped, any tips??

    Thanks

Been catching up on all the posts, well trying anyway... Haven't been online since last Saturday, my sis has been up since Monday.

Went to the dr, found that Jazz DOESN'T have craniostenosis which is EXCELLENT!!!! Still an incredibley bumpy and flat head so off to the chiro Mel goes to (finally lol) and lots of things to try and sort it out.

Had our CHN appointment Monday too, to talk about her day feeds and sleeps. Got some ok strategies. Still working on it. I have to be a strong mummy when she protests her day sleeps. Tuesday was pretty rough, yesterday was great, today not so much. Yesterday we had two big sleeps (one was 1hr 50min, the other was 1hr 20min) plus one 35 minute sleep. The feeds were still all over the place, our aim is less than 10 feeds a day with each feed at least 2 hrs apart and for 20 minutes or more, and 2-3 day sleeps that are 1-2 hrs each... which would be great for me, at the moment she's all over the place with 10minute feeds every 60-90 minutes, and cat napping 10-30 minutes at a time maybe 3 times a day. I so hope this works or I'll be going to a day stay to save my sanity. Nights are fine though, 8pm til 1.30-3.30am, and then til sleep 4-6am. She doesnt party at her night wake anymore either, just awake for booby then sleep.

Ok, geez my computer turned itself onto standby... have been trying to settle her for the last hour Friggen screaming blue murder at me... I feel like crying with her most times
    GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
For crying out loud, she's awake again
