Oh Bec! Here is my worth! That doc sounds horrible and don't you dare listen to her! We've had many discussions in here about weight of the babies, and the conclusion is that there has to be some babies at the 0 line and some at the 100 line, otherwise how do they get the 50th line??? Some babies grow slower than others, or will always be under average due to genetics, but that doesn't mean they are underweight. My bub is one of them. We had a scare a few weeks ago where he only put on 60gms in 4 weeks, but the last 4 weeks he put on 700gms and before that he always put on weight at a steady, but slow rate. He is on the 10th percentile for weight and HC, but his height is at the 50th line. My health nurse has looked at him and said that he is happy, he looks healthy and in proportion so there is no problem. And from what I can see in your photo Grace looks healthy, in proportion and cute as a button!

Leasha - I have those ice cube trays too for the same reason. Haven't got round to buying the veges yet to put in them! lucky he's not yet on solids! We also have the bumbo with the tray and it is really good for his toys. They too get pushed off but I think that is half the fun for him!

MM - Yay on putting an offer on a house! Exciting times for you! It will be so nice for you to move in to a house that you love! Is it on realestate website? Are there pics we can see? I hope V's scratch heals up quickly. Strange for a scratch to keep bleeding though... I hope it is nothing to worry about either.

Mel - Just thought you needed one!

    to everyone else!

Jett is still snuffly, but at least he didn't wake up in the middle of the night again last night. He has actually slept most of today, but was a bit grizzly when he was awake. Hopefully this will pass soon.

I was writing my birth story the other night (link is in my sig if you are interested, but don't feel obliged ) and I was going through our old belly buddies thread. It brought tears to my eyes reading all the excitement we all had as people went and had their babies (eg. Squidipa), or were waiting for something, anything to happen (Kel and Sasha). Vic was offering cheers of support and eviction! I was right back there while reading it, even though I wasn't able to be on line then. I just thought I would share that with you! Worth a read if you can be bothered!!

whats gonna work teeeeam work! omg I hear that every day Cadence loves the wonder pets.

Bec- Don't worry about the 'line" Cadence was for ever under it what a stupid doctor. No wonder mums get post natal depression! you're doing a great job

MT- I hope Jett doesn't want to party all night if he's slept all day For some reason I was thinking about how I would sit at the computer running to the toilet early pregnancy and with my big belly in the way late pregnancy it seems like years ago now hee hee

MM- PMSL Norman Gunston! is everything ok now?

Squidipa- It melts our heart when kids do something so special like wrapping you up with a rug how gorgeous. I reckon a weight gain of 150g congrats to your hubby for his job!

Pixie- you'll have to keep us informed on the teething front. any signs of the teeth breaking through the gums? Teeth are funny as they can go up and down especially the molars but they are a while off yet

Leash- thats fantastic that Jazz has favourite foods and i'm glad that her feeds are a little less demanding on you she was just ready for something more a little earlier by the sounds of it

Mel- I hope today was a little less busy for you. I have to say Hi 5 annoys the crap out of me I hate how they talk like babies especially Charli and there's a song that goes "Heeeeeeeey what ya doin hey whats cooking what ya cooking up for me" I think ah ha so thats were they pick up the million question thing

hello everyone I missed lots of hugs and baby slobery kisses

I have to say I am VERY happy with Allegras routine bed at 10:30pm awake at 8am I'm just waiting for the change or a bad night.
Does anyone elses baby get really excited and kick their arms and legs really fast? Allegra does it a lot when she's on the change mat she's at chest height for me and my poor boobies get kicked around like soccer balls and it hurts like hell

Kel - K has changed his routine. I had two nights of him waking up at 3:30am but last night he slept through again
He did go to bed later last night - gave him his last bottle at 8:30pm (has been having it around 7:30pm for a weeks now) so I'm thinking this is the new routine we will be on now for a while

K gets excited too when I have him on his change mat. I figured it was because he can see the border that we have on the wall all around his room as he always looks up and tilts his head back. Goes mental with his legs, its quite hiliarious actually

MM - good explanation as to babies weights/percentiles!

Bec - Try to ignore that doctor. Dont ya just love it how docs do that. I am truly lucky I have the greatest doctor. When I saw him last time round he commented and said "hes a big boy isnt he" I'm like ahhhh yeah got DH to thank for that LOL

K has always been big right from birth and I have had MANY people tell me that so I beat them to it now and say "yes hes a big boy" before they do
I think all that matters is that G is PUTTING ON weight and at a consistent rate and that she is in proportion and she's happy! I let things get to me for a while cause they were saying K is putting on too much weight each week but I know I aint overfeeding him. He is happy so to me thats all that matters!

Dont take any notice of that doctor re: starting formula. Thats a ridiculous thing to say. You are breastfeeding and doing a great job, don't let anyone tell you otherwise!

Anyways busy morning ahead, Yoga again at 11am hopefully Kye will sleep today

Better run and get organised before he wakes up.

    Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Thanks so much ladies, feel so much better about it today, like you all said, she is happy and i can tell she is not under weight...(the three chins and belly rolls tell me that!!) She is gaining at a weight im happy with....so true what you say MT, if all babies were over the 50th line then there wouldnt be a 50th line!!
I feel like going in to the docs and telling her what for....but will resist! Spoke to a midwife friend of mine in sydney and she was OUTRAGED!! not a good doc! there is always one!

    Anyway....

Leash: at mum letting J cry! We are going to get a Bumbo next week (thank you Mr Rudd) where did you get yours from? Good to hear that the feeding is getting better for you!

Pixie: Well done for going to the gym...i feel like i deserve a medal when i walk round the block!

MM: Like the icecube tray idea, will get some for when we start solids. Hope the scratch is ok now.

MT: Find it interesting to read others birth stories, allways amazes me how very different each one is! will have a squizz when i get a min.

Kel: Grace does what DH calls 'The Running Man' on the change mat, body goes rigid and stiff and legs go crazy. Lucky she is at waist level so it just our tummys that get a beating!!

    Hi to everyone else.

Alesia - wow someone certainly likes their food!!! No solids here until 6 months I'm afraid.. plus she isn't showing any signs of being in the slightest bit ready - which I'm glad about - got enough on my plate without having to worry about all that stuff as well!! lol

Leash - you wanna get together next week babe?

MT - thanks --> theres one right back atcha sweetheart...

OOh george is on.. DS is excited.. thank GOD for Nick Jnr. Now he's climbing over me, hard to type with toddler on arm.

    Morning all!

    LOL@ Nick Jr!!!

MT - I posted a link of the house (which then goes to real estate dot com) on my profile on facebook ... any of the new ladies on FB, feel free to add me (link is in my sig) just let me know who you are Most of us are on there (so we have BB and FB!! LOL)

Mel - Master K LOVES George too! And Roary! He's forever going "where's me spanner? where's that at?" LOL! I try to alternate Nick Jr and Playhouse Disney (for some bizarre reason, I even like Johnny and the Sprites!) But even if he is down in the backyard, he comes racing into the house if you change the channel. Mind you, you can't HEAR the TV outside, so he must have some kind of radar!!

Bec - we choose not to immunise, and the old ECHN (she retired) and one of our docs always look down their noses at us, like we are going to be the sole cause of some epidemic! I was actually reading a couple of interesting letters in Sydney's Child last week, but I won't go into it!

Sash - yesterday I had someone ask how old Master V was, and when I said 4 months, this poor guys eyes nearly popped out of his head! He told me his EIGHTEEN MONTH OLD is the same size!!!!!!!!! So for all you mums out there who are worrying (or having others worry you) about the size of your bubs, I wouldn't! And I don't particularly think he is BIG per se, but he looks HUGE when I'm holding him! LOL!

Kel - Veygas does the excited kicking thing too, especially in the bath (so I get splashed ALOT!) And like Kye, he tilts his head to look behind him (???) Don't know what is so interesting there, but .....

Anyways, big to all I've missed, but I gotta go beat the crap out of some rugs (they are FILTHY!)

    mwaaaah! xxxx

the phone! the phone is RINGING!! the phone! we'll be right dere!

Yep, guess who sings that when the phone is actually ringing Well... Jazz likes it so there hehehehe
My favourite shows (I alternate between NJ and PHD) are Tigger and Pooh, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Little Einsteins (but we NEED MORE POWER!), Imagination Movers, ummmm, I also like the Doodlebops Well! Theres good music for us to sing along to! Ahhhh, I watch too much TV!

Bek, that dr sounds awful. Ignore her, she doesn't know you, or your DD. What a *****! My GP said its not the weight that counts, as long as she's gaining and it follows the curve it doesn't matter! You are doing a great job, and if bfing is working for you then don't feel you have to put her on formula unless you want to. We got our Bumbo from babies galore in Morayfield, not sure where in SC you are but you can get them from baby dreamland in Maroohcydore and Bubs Baby Shop in Noosa. You can also buy online.

mm, about V scratching himself. We have to keep on top of Jazzy's nails every few days, they grow so quick its amazing!! I usually notice when she pinches me during feeding... OW! Ok, time to cut the nails again!
We were at Woolies, there was a bub a bit smaller than Jazz sitting up in the trolley, and I said to Shel "wow, look at that clever little baby sitting up so well already!" and the mum turned around and said "oh, well he's 8 months old" oooooooook, I say, I guess we have a heffalump!!!

Kel, we call that Jazzy's happy dance LOL! Her legs and arms go crazy! It's so funny! I had to stop changing her on the change table because she almost propels herself off!
OMG I hate ****roaches BTW. NEVER EVER EVER going to that Coles again! BLERK! *shudder* I really hate them.

Alesia, I'm not sure exactly how much Jazz is having... well, two ice cubes worth LOL! I'll measure it when I get the inclination to get off my butt! hehehe! We started Jazz on half an ice cube once a day, now she's eating breakfast and dinner, two ice cubes at each meal and could probably go for more, but I just give her some booby lol. Yep her poo is more solid now, to be expected, I don't think it goes back to the runny runny milk poo, unless you were to stop solids and just give milk again.

Mel, next week sounds great! Anytime suits me I'm not doing anything, as usual LOL!

hey, quick question... has anyone but their bubs front facing in the car yet. OMG I can't wait until we can, getting her in and out is a friggen nightmare! Trying to lift her above the dumb anchorage straps, either her legs get caught because I don't lift her high enough, or her head hits the roof because I lift too high. Ours says to turn between 8 and 9kg, hopefully she'll hit that soon (she was 7kg two weeks ago, the dr didn't check her weight at immunisations, just picked her up and said "yep, she's a good size" PMSL!)).
