Babies Born August 1st - 15th 2008

I was also in the August due date group, but I was induced at 38 weeks due to idiopathic thrombocytopaenia - basically low platelets and haemoglobin. So my little man was born on July 21, but the ladies in this group are absolutely awesome, I just couldn't leave them!! :cryinglaugh: (Oh The Bear is awesome too!!)

Veygas is still feeding small amounts more frequently, so I felt like a yoyo last night!! :p With the stitches and the dressing, I'm too scared to have him in bed with me again just yet.

Had a rough time at medicare today too ... the receipt from our initial consultation on monday hasn't been signed nor is there any indication on the receipt that the account has been paid (why would we have a receipt if it hadn't been paid?????) so the chick says can you go back to the doc and get it signed? I said I am NOT going all the way back to Wahroonga JUST for a signature! It's like a 2.5 hour drive from where we live!

Next, because we elected to go into hossie as self funded private patients (so that we could have the paediatric surgeon actually do the op rather than a student doc!!) we have paid that bill at the time of surgery, but apparently all of the paper work we have been given isn't good enough for medicare ... she says we need an itemised account (I thought what we had was itemised but she said it's just an estimate??? :dunno: ) plus something which I questioned at the time, they haven't given us the original of the receipt, only a photocopy (which the hossie finance guy said was ok).

So, now we are some $800 odd out of pocket and have to do a heck of alot of chasing around to get everything fixed up so that we can claim what we are entitled to back - I don't think it even comes up to $300 back ...

Leash - I think significant others slip into holiday mode too easily! I had a go at my DP on Sunday cause there was sooooooo much work to do and I was stressing about our appt on monday and Veygas was screaming and where was dp?? Same place as yours - playing the Wii!!!

Mel - heck, I would rather express and end up having to chuck it than risk getting mastitis! (Rachel, I'm not even gonna ASK how painful that was!)

As for music - all of my kids have loved music. DS1 used to just have the radio going all night! DD loved (and still does) Massive Attack at night. The younger 2 aren't too keen on music at night, but during the day, in the house and in the car, we pretty much have music going all the time. All 4 of them like Bon Jovi, INXS, and heaps of other 80's stuff, plus more current stuff like the Veronicas, heaps of Natalia Imbruglia, and the occasional Broadway musical! :cryinglaugh:

Well this has taken me about half an hour (to and fro) and I'm sure there are other personals, but I'm having a brain drain! Sorry to everyone I've missed and a big :hello:

OMG!!!!! :excited: That hernia must have been so painful for Veygas cause today he has been smiling so much - and not just a quick little smile, these have been fully lighting up his face!!! it makes me teary to see him so happy! :dance:

Kel, welcome! Mel (Gudism) and I are both in two groups because our babies were due in July but the stubborn little buggers were nearly two weeks late.
Leash - hugs, you're very patient with Shel.... I wouldn't be! TBH she sounds as if she is acting like more of a stereotypical bloke than the real blokes! Hope Jaz gives you a break and it's a bit easier for you once you've got a bit of space!

Hubbie is making me tea TONIGHT>>>sausages gravy and steamed veg and potato mashed yummo:) We just recently got out of the pool. Its such a nice day that we thought we would brave it and it actually was nice in all that water not cold like i thought it would be. Josh was in his swing happy checking out all the birds (The kind with wings):p. fell asleep obviously not his thing hehe. We got the 3 year old out of the typical baby seat floating thing and with a ring it was great then we put that back and had him on us and kicking out to the side He had loads of fun me too actually:).

As for me..I had a very very disappointing trip to shops! None of my clothes fit me at moment except for PJ's and one pair of really warn out sport pants and a maternity dress and legging that i bought during pregnancy. (Gudism if you meet me on Thursday i am sure ill be in one of those two things) so it's wash and wear and thats it. There was nothing i liked at target, kmart or big w plus the price 40-50 each item oh my not my thing... i cant afford that... thats luxury for us. Rather save that cash or spend it on someone else. I think i am a 14-16 now. Weighing 8 kilo more than my pre preg weight. Would like to one day:cryinglaugh::rolleyes: get back to 72:) i was 72 before i went to nz and the mother inlaw fed us up good. Its hard to get clothes to fit right when you are broad and have large ribs and a sagging sausage. I also cant stand sleeves either so all singlets for me or something that doest cover the armpit up. Any tips??

Have stopped BF - it just wasnt working for us. My milk was crap and he was getting so cranky. He is much happier and I am too so in my eyes thats all that matters! :)

He is 1 month old today :dance: - cant believe how fast the time has gone!!

Anyways back to bed for me, hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Sasha - OMG 200ml!!! crikey!!! Actually it sounds a lot like DS - by the time he was a week old he was having 120ml..... DD is lucky to drink that now!!! pmsl.... its good when they are good eaters :hug:

Squidipa I know what you mean! i have been wearing the same four maternity tops for the last three months, cause they are good for breastfeeding, but it was a bit too warm for them yesterday.... and I realised that I have no other clothes that fit over my now-enormous 14DD boobies!!!! I used to be a 12B so obviously none of my pre-pregnancy clothes have a hope in hell! My stepmum is going to take me out shopping during the week though so that should be fun. Had a good day yesterday, took DD for a walk up to the shops with my stepmum, and went to MIL/FIL's house for dinner. It was good but DD got very agitated and overtired and didn't settle until about 11.30. She was really good overnight though, woke up once at 3, and conked straight back out after feeding.

hey sahsa, thats great that you have found something that works for you and kye ultimately if you and bubs is happy thats all that matters altho kye will really start stacking on the weight now hehe thats good tho :)Congrats of the weeks you did BF. My 3 year old weighted 12 kilo at 8 months old hehe I never got past 8 weeks myself fully. I think josh has had lots of wind and thats why eh is so unsettled the last week. Might have to get some grype water for him.

Gudism i have no idea where landsborough is sorry but thats o.k:) im a bit funny about going places i dont know where is strange places and a strange state feels all so strange here for me :cryinglaugh:

When are you all thinking about starting solids at what age and why?

Squidipa - re: solids I think Kye will be starting them quite early. I dont think it will be long before formula wont sustain him enough. At a guess I reckon 4-5 months he'll be solids. I cant wait for that age, will be so cool for him to be able to experiment with different foods - textures and flavours!

Re: clothes yeah I am in the same boat. I dont fit any of my pre-pregnancy clothes now :( I pretty much wear a pair of pants or a skirt. Should be getting the baby bonus paid to me either tuesday or wednesday this week so I'm definitely going out and getting a few new items of clothing. I had a big clean out the other day and took a whole heap to the Lifeline shop. I have gone up to a size 12-14 in pants, so depressing LOL Have about 6kgs to lose which I know I WILL lose when I finally get off my butt and get active again hehe

Mel - he doesnt always take 200ml each feed usually has between 150-180ml but yeah the early morning feed (1-2am) I have noticed he wakes up absolutely starving!!
He must be like me and have a good metabolism.... PMSL :cryinglaugh:

Hey guys, my DS1 (9lb 1oz or 4.1kg at birth) started on solids at 2 months!! He point blank refused formula, and I just couldn't keep up my milk supply with his demand - plus it was too tiring feeding half an hour each side and only getting an hour break in between feeds 24/7 (yes he fed every 2 hours day and night for the first six months, even after I started on solids, but at least he didn't feed as long when he had food in his tummy! :cryinglaugh: ) The ECH nurse absolutely scolded me for it saying his gut was too immature to handle solids, but he had shown all the signs of wanting them - opening his mouth ready for a spoon and actually grabbing at food! I started him with custards and jellies in the jars and fresh pureed vegetables. It hasn't caused any problems and he is almost 8 yo now! With a typical 8yo boy's appetite!

None of my others started this young (and Veygas is nearly 2 months and not there yet either!) My DD actually didn't start solids til about 8 or 9 months - she just wasn't interested (but she crawled late and walked late and even talked late! :p )

DD2 was about 5 or 6 months old starting solids ... we'll wait and see when Veygas is ready! :)

But I think just watch for signs that they want more than milk ... I know there is alot of hype around "exclusive BF for at least 6 months" but again, you gotta do what's best for you and your baby, and if having solids makes them happy (which in turn makes us happy) then I say go for it!

Oh, and just an update on Veygas - when he was weighed and measured at the hossie before his surgery, he was 6.1kg and 59cm long (3.8kg and 50cm at birth) This was at 7 wks old. And he is doing really well, healing nicely and starting to settle down again!

Hi girls!

Big weekend for us.. out to a restaurant Friday night for a friend's birthday - Eli was excellent, slept in his stroller. Saturday night was the Qantas Film and TV Awards - black tie red carpet event rah rah (think Logies in NZ). Was fun and Eli was a good little boy for Dad, went to sleep in his portacot and took the bottle of EBM yay! Was sending SMS during the awards ceremony to check on him :) I am tired now though!!

MM - so glad to hear Veygas is doing so well now! Yay :)

squidipa/MM/sasha - I just realised I have no idea about solids etc, going to a class on this next month! It's like I prepared for pregnancy, labour and the first 3 months and then didn't think much about the next stuff haha.

Re: clothes - I fit some pants and tops but lots of the tops are too tight across the top part thanks to going up a few cup sizes... need to go and buy some but haven't had the chance yet so have been wearing a few tops over and over. Put away my maternity stuff today, felt momentous!

hehe i must be CrAzY :rolleyes: but yep me i do. Dunno why but yep totally CRAZY i know. Think cause i come from a large family that i must have one myself or else i dont feel complete. Ppl say if you have kids to feel complete you will never stop contradicting myself here but i gotta agree. I dunno how mom kept the house so spotless and clean and kept food in our tummies when everything was all good growing up. With 5 kids and our friends in tow. Congrats to my MOM!

As for me and babies i fear always will this be my last i dunno just before delivering i found a cyst attached to the vaginal wall. I told dr's and midwifes in hospital no one looked was just pushed off the topic. My sister has cancer of the cervix so i was and obviously am worried. Was told to get it check after bleeding at my 6 week check so gonna try to get it looked at this week.

In saying all that..... i fear what if Josiah is my last, Question is would i be happy with that I dunno. I don't think i would be. Yet, i cant even say when or what number would be enough. Then i think well with a ratio like what we had with Josiah, every year that ratio is worse do we even bother or not. Then i think we are put here on earth With an ability to have children if i want them shouldn't i just have them.... God says be fruitful!!! So hrmmm makes me question myself more. Then $$$$ can we afford it hrmmm. then i say Money in nothing all we need is LOVE now my heads off and singing do do do do Love Is All We Need! Love is all we need! Love is all we need! :cryinglaugh:

I am getting an ultra sound to morrow as the dr is concerned over how much protein there is in my body when i dont eat high protein foods or much meat. Hope they find what ever is wrong with me :) If they cant find anything then w cant fix anything hey :)

Gonna leave the 3 year old with the ex while i get scanned and take josh with me!! I hope he sleeps.

Evening Mums and Bubs

Haven't been on much last couple of days, had a bit of a crazy time... here's a bit of an update...

At my 8 week OB appointment (was supposed to be 6 weeks!) I was still uncomfortable and my OB found a stitch about an inch in that didn't dissolve, it was creating a ridge and was quite painful.

She gave me cream to see if that helped if not it would need to be removed

It didn't make much difference so on Friday I was booked in to get it snipped out - skin had grown over it partially.

The ob sliced it and got it out, but then I wouldn't stop bleeding, my clotting ability is crap atm!! 15 min and still flowing freely so guess what... she had to put another stitch in, she didn't want to but I wasn't going to stop bleeding anytime soon. This one dissolves in a about 2 days so hoping that it has dissolved by now.

Now I am heading off to get my platelets etc done, as 12 weeks into pregnancy they were 149 just below the bottom of the accepted range (150), then they just continued to drop to 112 @ 32 weeks, I was due to get another round of tests for my 34 week appointment (OB had decided to switch it up to fortnightly tests), as there were going to be implications in labour if they were below 100 but we didn't get that far.

Then Saturday...

After all my efforts in BF'ing and finally getting Nakita off the Nipple Shields on Thursday - still going strong!! I ended up getting mastitis

Started feeling like crap yesterday, left breast was burning hot, and painful in deep, had quite a few blocked ducts and I couldn't shift this one, ended up with a temp of 38.2 at 8pm

Then I messaged my MW to see if she thought it could be mastits, she called back and I went through it all and she said I needed to get seen that night, she tried my OB to see if she could do something as DR's would be shut, but she couldn't get hold of her, she was on call. Suggested to call WCH, they said they couldn't really take me as I was past 6 weeks PP - nearly 11 weeks now, but to try after hours surgeries and private hospitals.

I tried all the AH Surgeries, they were shut rang Wakefield Street hospital, was going to cost me $250 to just walk in the door most of which I wouldn't get back so after 45min I called back the WCH they said to come in as I needed to be seen, they would sort something out.

Got temp and BP done and did a "sample", Dr came in 45min later with results, she said mastitis was developing, we could chance it to see whether it continues to develop by morning or to start antibiotics right away, but it can flare up quickly and then we would both end up back in hossy, so we started the antibiotics! And I went home, lucky I had enough EBM for one feed, so I was able to leave N at home with daddy.

What a pain about there being no Dr's accessible in the evening, I felt so bad having to go into hospital, at least they weren't busy, medical resources around here are crap, I shouldn't have had to spend 45min on the net and phone trying to find a dr to see - was no point calling for a locum as that would have taken a few hours. Plus going into a normal emergency room I would have been right down the list! I was just lucky that WCH agreed to take me! Today I am feeling a lot better than death warmed up!!! I have to express after every feed and inbetween feeds if it starts to get painful. Alsp really glad we didn't leave it overnight!

Squidipa: re Soldis for bubs I replied in your other thread... but I am still going to think about whether we try based on her actual age or her corrected age.....and hope your appointments go well this week :)

Rachel: nup you're not weird... or if you are I am too!! I never thought I would be thinking about it so soon!! I'm not ready for the back pain, uncomfortable sleeping... and want to get used to Nakita first, but yeah, I keep thinking about the next pregnancy and what we will do differently to try and predict what is going to happen, hoping that I get to term, and just looking forward to the whole big belly again!!! Yay for the awards dinner glad you had a great night out! How were your bbs by then end - not too full I hope!

:clap::clap::clap: Sasha for the Bf'ing you achieved, I am sure that it has made a difference :) Just glad that you and Kye are both happy, that's the most important thing. 200ml - wow!! We are getting Nakita up to 100ml of EBM at her late evening feed, filling up that belly to try and get her to put on more weight!!

I can fit into all my clothes, the only problem I have is with my fitted dresses I end up with the 4 boob thing happening cos they have settled back to 2 cup sizes bigger than my pre-pregnancy size, also my clothes need to be bf'ing friendly as I am doing a lot of feeding out and about and don't feel the need to show my belly to the world!!!

Yay Pixie, isn't it great when they just conk out after the middle of the night feed - makes a big difference hey!!

MM - yay for Veygas being so happy now, so happy for ya and him!!!

CM4E - yeah I don't mind if there was a good reason for feeding early, but half an hour before she was even due, and knowing that I was coming down (as she was on during the previous feed) We didn't even know about her first bath... when I went in on day 2 her hair was a fluffy and she had been bathed.... wish we knew could have been there or even be told... oh well no point dwelling, we just look forward to all the new firsts!!

This has taken me ages, must go express then finish DH's lunches and iron some clothes and go to bed!!

CM4E (I won't call you Kel cause it will just cause confusion!) I loved that first bath! My baby was in special care for two days and it was so lovely when they unplugged her from all the monitors and let me give her a bath. She still had all the crap in her hair so it was lovely just washing it all out. She loved it too, and I still love giving her a bath.
MM - glad to hear Veygas is on the mend
Sash - happy one month birthday to Kye!
Rach - I think you're nuts! LOL people were saying yesterday "i hope your next one is a boy" .... err, give me a break! she's only five weeks old! I can see how as she gets bigger I'll miss her being so little but right now I'm happy with just the one. I think I'd like to wait a while before thinking too much about another one!

I don't think you're weird - but hey, I have 4, and I want to start trying again, RIGHT NOW!! :cryinglaugh: I just wish we had the time to DTD, IYKWIM :p Plus with everything that I go through in pregnancy (low platelets etc) and all that we have been through with Veygas this last couple of weeks .... hmmm I think we'll just wait and see what happens!! ;)

Yeah Vic, I'm meant to get mine checked too, they were down to 90 when I delivered, but again, i had no haemhorraging (sp?) or excess blood loss (less than 500ml!) but the docs just wanted to make sue they were going back up again! They did last time so ... besides Veygas has been my main concern lately!

And what a bummer about the mastitis - hope it has cleared up and hope that stitch has dissolved too! :hug:

I'd really like to try for a home birth next time, but I think I am just in that "too high risk" category ... but then again, if I stayed at home in labour long enough, I'm sure it would happen!! :cryinglaugh:

:hello: to everyone else - sorry personals have been fairly non-existent lately but ... I'm a slacker, what can I say?? :p

Good Morning Everyone!

Hopefully (fingers crossed) I will be back on here daily (more or less) now as I have been missing you all heaps! We have a study downstairs, the only room in the house that is downstairs and it is off the garage so quite a bit chillier than upstairs. It just wasn't practical to keep going up and down the stairs with a wee bub so I just wasn't able to get down there even though I wanted to. That combined with Jett's cranky week it just wasn't happening, and I really needed to talk to you all too. So last week I spoke to DH and we went and got a laptop so I can have it with me wherever I am in the house with Jett. Now don't get me wrong, this wasn't a spur of the moment decision, we have been talking about it for a long time so I can help DH with his bookwork at home rather than going to his workshop (he is a mechanic with his own business), but DH knows how valuable this site and you all are to me for support when he can't be here. So he saw it as a worthwhile investment, and of course the cost can all be put through the business. So, here I am, back, rambling as usual, but feeling much happier.

I have just finished reading all the posts since I last posted and have really enjoyed hearing everyone's stories - especially all your birth emotion ones. So I thought I would add my one in. Because I had been hoping for a natural intervention free birth, and there I was with gels, induction and still no joy I cried as I was laid on the table for my c-sect. I cried for me, I cried for my baby and cried because I was just about to meet my baby, the happiest time of my life and there I was crying because it didn't go to plan and I felt so selfish. Then all of a sudden I heard his cry and I cried, they put him on my chest straight away and his crying stopped instantly as he looked at me and listened to my voice. So of course I cried again!! And having read what some of you went through, I feel like all my tears were all wasted. I didn't need to cry - regardless of how my birth worked out I knew instinctively that I had a strong baby who could cope with everything I was throwing at him, and I was right! He is still strong, both physically and emotionally.

The other thing I loved reading about was everyone's music for their babies. Jett loves listening to the Michael Buble CDs!! I listen to them a bit in the car (to keep my driving calm!! :lol: and I have put the CD on a couple of times while Jett is in his bouncer and I am doing things. But everytime the CD finishes he cries :doh: so needless to say the CD is really getting a workout these days! The other thing he seems to like is my singing, poor kid! So I sing a lot for him, mainly songs from a tape that I had as a small child called Hippo in my bathtub by Anne Murray. Songs like Animal Crackers, Teddy Bears picnic and You are my Sunshine. And a little bit of Hippo in my bathtub! But I don't know all the words anymore so there are a few la la las in the middle!! I have found that you can still get that on CD but I have to get it imported from Canada. I can recommend it as a good kids CD though, and a bit different from the usual nursery rhymes and the Wiggles!

So a little bit of catch up on what has been happening around here... Jett has continued to sleep well at night so there has been no problem there, but week before last, the day Jett hit 4 weeks he just kept crying all day. Not sleeping or settling and I couldn't get anything done not even a shower. At first I figured wind, so got some infacol wind drops but they didn't seem to work. I was getting to my wits end, crying along with him, especially as when my DH was home he was calm (and asleep) or if we went out he was calm (and asleep)! All I wanted to do was get on here and talk with you guys and it just wasn't happening. I couldn't even get out of the house some days so that wasn't even an option to calm him down. Then last Monday I had to go to a breastfeeding session down at the health centre and I got there about 10.30, but had been trying to get out of the house since 8 so of course I burst in to tears as soon as I got there!! But it was a blessing that I went, because there was another girl there with her son who had just gone through the same thing. We started comparing notes and it seemed we had the same story with our sons. We both She had been to the hospital and seen a paed so had all the answers! We both have an abundant supply of milk, and guzzling babies so that when we were feeding them they would empty both sides, which is about 200-250 mls all up, in one sitting. Far too much for tiny babies. So what was happening was acid reflux, which stayed in their throats because neither are chucky babies, so this was burning their throats. And because there tummies were getting so full they would open up and let undigested milk in to their gut where it would ferment causing big wind pains and big poos every nappy change which burnt their bums and resulted in nappy rash. No wonder the poor little man was screaming!! So the answer was to only feed one side per sitting, and feeding more often if he wanted it, but not more in qty. Keep him as upright as much as possible and a dummy for the acid reflux. And also half a ml of mylanta after each feed. Since doing all this he is a new baby. The nappy rash is gone, his poos have changed colour and there is less of them and he has gone back to being a happy baby. I have stopped the mylanta and he doesn't seem to need to be upright as much anymore as long as he has a good burp before lying down.

Yeah Vic, I'm meant to get mine checked too, they were down to 90 when I delivered, but again, i had no haemhorraging (sp?) or excess blood loss (less than 500ml!) but the docs just wanted to make sue they were going back up again! They did last time so ... besides Veygas has been my main concern lately!

Mine didn't get checked at delivery.... was all just too quick in then end and as it was VB and no drugs it didn't come up, not sure what my loss was afterwards...

Hello everyone ,
I am feeling all warm and funny not in a good way i am remaining very calm on the out side with the 3 year old testing me. I am just feeling abit drained lots of getting up and waking 3 year old back to bed and my legs are aching. and head is sore.

I stuffed my face today i had chicken and pasta for lunch 4 iced donuts and boston bun with ice coffee. No i am not pregnant have not had the energy to DTD yet plus ive only really stopped bleeding it started up again the otehr day.

Got the ultra sound done today there is only 1 kidney stone 9mm don't know if dr will do anything about it or not. I wish he would i dont want to pass it as ive passed stones before and NO THANK YOU not my cuppa tea if ya ask me. Worse than labor!

Its a warm warm day here very humid too. I had plumber come over regarding a leak only for him not t find it at all but he did find that if you put water on the floor boards near shower it pours out through the wooden floor board On top of my washing machine. So i was glad he spotted that as we are very careful not to spill water in shower and obviously we dont cause we would have seen this problem earlier. We only found the otehr leak as it was leaking on the freezer downstairs.

All my pre cooking of food before hospital has so come in handy last time we did a proper food shop was 1 month ago almost other than bread and milk. My freezers are all full and over flowing in food so that makes me happy as a momma. I never had that as a kid after 10 years of age.

Well, I just weighed Seven and she is now 4.27kg/9lb7oz! Thats a weight gain of 1.5kg since birth! Well, that will happen when you feed 2hrly!!! LOL

MT ~ 2hrly feeds are Seven's choice. We are demand feeding so I'm letting her do what she feels she needs! She empties the breast she's feeding on completely so I know she's happy! She sometimes goes a bit longer at night, but seeing as shes in bed with me, I can't really be sure how often she does or does not feed! LOL
Oh and just saw your pics - your boy is adorable! Very sweet! Ive got pics in my gallery too - hint hint. LOL!!!!

CM4E - I already checked out your photos before I posted mine, and most people in our thread. It was the first chance I really got.

And I oohed and ahhed over every single one of them, they are all just so precious! And I am loving the professional photos people have. They look fantastic!

MM - I am old enough to remember LPs too, but we had cassette for that album as it got a workout every year when we drove up and down from QLD. Hi everyone else.. can't think straight right now so will be back tomorrow. Oh and glad I didn't weird out *most* of you with my wanting to have another baby LOL!

Rachel - I don't agonise over that decision. I did ALOT of research - pros and cons - of immunisations whilst pregnant with my 1st and decided against it, so I am a conscientious objector for all 4 of my kids. I have never had a problem with any of the "diseases" that immunisations are supposed to prevent (except that my 1st 3 all got chicken pox at the same time, but here, thats not a scheduled vaccine, you have to pay for that one) Plus i have had a few friends kids have really bad reactions to the vaccines - and a friend of a friend actually lost their child because of an adverse reaction. It was quite sad.

BUT I don't hold it against people, after all, it s a very personal decision!

Kiwi Girl ~ I actually am in two minds myself about vaccinating. My DS Caleb, 12 is fully vaccinated, but then, when I was 19, I didn't even think twice about it. Now, I am not so sure, I am still in the midst of researching.
I actually work in a NNU so vaccinating is kind of 'in my brain' iykwim...so its kind of weird that Im thinking about NOT doing it for Seven. Seven had her Vit K injection at birth, but we declined the Hep B before going home. I really don't know if I will get her done at all, its something DF and I need to discuss fully before I make any decisions.
But, like MT said, its a personal choice, and myself, I think that if the choice is informed, and all the pros and cons are known, then no one should tell you to do otherwise. You do what you feel is right for Eli.

Thanks for letting me know.. I'm relieved that it's not such a black and white thing for everyone.. and it's such a controversial and personal thing and DH is anti-vaccinations.. and I can't bear to think of sticking an injection into Eli but I worry about travelling and the diseases.. I don't think I could be 100% happy with whatever we decide.. currently leaning towards not vaccinating though.. just worry if I don't and he gets something I'll live with that forever!

My cousin lost a child to meningitis and never vaccinated her kids. A good friend's brother has autism and they believe it's due to a vaccine. So hard for both those families.

We didn't get Vit K after lots of reading but that one is kinda different to the other vaccines in my mind.

Kiwi girl... Re: vaccines, you really have to do what you feel is right. Not what everyone else feels or family. Its an very important descition to make and its ok to be needing to revisit this topic loads in thoughts, thats normal and perfectly right thing to do. Over here its so difficult not to vaccinate as the government makes things harder with schooling and daycare and its so so so so UNFAIR for ppl whom choose not to vaccinate.

As for me i was vaccinated all my siblings too. All the children have been vaccinated and are up to date as well. I do get concerned and with not knowing the out come of each injection and drop. But the truth is with me. How can i call myself a Christian and not have faith that God has my path set in the ways he would want it to go. I trust in God that what ever happeneds there is a reason for that. That reason will be far greater than my mear mind could ever comprehend but i do trust that God will look after us and stretch and grow us in the ways that he would want us to become. Thats just MY personal opinion and ild say Hubbies too, cant see his opinion being any different than myn.

Well, I feel like I am on the ball today - even though Veygas woke every 2.5 hrs for a feed last night :rolleyes: BUT I have fed him this morning, had my shower, hung out washing which I put in the machine last night before bed, had breakfast AND a cuppa and taken the sheets off my bed and chucked them in the machine ... whew and it's not even 8am yet!! :cryinglaugh:

But it did get me thinking about how much washing I do each week (and it really is unavoidable!) but I have to do a load of clothes each day otherwise it piles up and I end up having to do many loads on one day ... so:

* 7 loads of clothes
* 2 loads of work and school uniforms
* 1 load of woollens
* 2 loads of towels (bath towels, floor mats, tea towels etc)
* 2 loads of sheets
* 2 loads of blankets (Veygas is a VERY messy feeder and a bit of a chuck-upper! :p )

Hmmmmm, so on average, 16 loads of washing per week and we even have a 10kg washing machine!! :rolleyes: Thank goodness it's a water efficient one! :cryinglaugh:

Rachel - travelling is one circumstance where we would vaccinate, if it was a condition of entry into that particular country ... but a debate I'd rather not get into, IYKWIM. ;)

MM - wow heaps of loads! I have noticed we've gone up heaps in washing too and haven't counted how many!! DH is setting up more water tanks to collect rain water from our roof (we already have 4 for the garden) and will hook it up to the washing machine to save water at some point.

I'm thinking about maybe getting a chest freezer for veges etc from our garden so they don't go to waste this year and can prepare stuff for when Eli starts solids. They are like $1000 brand new (!) but way cheaper second hand.. not sure which way to go.

MT - we had the exact same problem with Beth a couple of weeks ago! Thankfully we figured out it was from over-feeding her and since then we have limited her feeds to about 20-25 minutes each time, and we started using a dummy because she likes to suck for comfort. Ever since then she has been pretty fine!
O and Jett is just gorgeous!
We had a great night out last night, and we didn't even ring to check on her! I knew she would be fine with my stepmum and sister. And they had a great time looking after her and said we can ask them anytime! so a win win situation all round.
My baby is losing the hair she had when she was born and I'm sad about it! I love that hair!

MM ~ Must be something in the air today! I also have done a load of washing and folding, had breakfast, a cuppa and a shower and it's not even 9am. And to boot, lil Madam Seven has been feeding about 1-1.5hrly since last night! ARGH!
I am proud of myself though, seeing as I'm not normally even out of bed at this time!
My washing has increased, although not by half as much as yours! Good on you for keeping on top of it!!!!

Okay got a bit to whinge about so sorry girls and the bear, but I will start with the good stuff!!

We got our house valuation back on our current house and it's great, really nice profit!!!!

WE HAVE AN ESTIMATE COMPLETION DATE FOR OUR HOUSE!!!!
February - March next year, only a year late.... but when I spoke to the builder we are currently on track for early March, I told him keep with 9th in his mind as it is my birthday!! ;) But he is also hoping to make up some time we lost already. But at least we have a ball park time, hopefully it will be warm enough to use the pool still, then again we had the huge heatwave in March, bugger that we are in this totally unsustainable house through summer again. But the :excited: out weighs the :wall:

Nearly all the frame work on the house is complete, the roofy and the brickie are lined up to head in shortly!!

We have been 3 full days of no shields almost 4 :dance:, but...going to see my MW/LC today, was booked in to see her next week, hopefully for the last time (which is sad as she is lovely, but if N passes 3.5Kg we can just go to CAYHS weigh-ins and don't need the extra monitoring). I messaged her this morning, I have a couple of blocked ducts on my mastitis side that are killing me, been trying to budge them with expressing, massage and heatpacks, and I think it is because she is attaching like crap, I have a "hungry hungry hippo" here, you know the game where they chop down really quickly, she is now doing that and not opening her mouth :( I have been trying to follow the methods for correct attachment but not having much luck. So hopefully we can sort this out and she can actually latch on properly.

I have one load of washing to dry and I have caught up - so i will finish that this morning!

I have had a shower and cuppa, fed twice, expressed twice, written up one invoice, gotta finish the other - I will finally get some money in!! I have been procrastinating... why cos I need the money!! I am such an idiot!!

Nakita is asleep next to me, yesterday!!!

My new wakeup time is 4:50am :shock:.... by the time i have fed and expressed there is not point going back to bed!!!

And finally I have time to graba cuppa and some breaky - I hope before little miss awakes!!

Yay CM4E, weddings are soo exciting, we have one this weekend one of DH's Groomsmen, he is marrying a reporter from Channel 10, so it is a very formal affair, got nothing to wear yet... but we will see!! We have friends looking after N for the ceremony and we will be taking her to the reception, they really want to meet her and want her to come, we decided not to the ceremony as on our wedding video we have a cousin who bought bubs and all you can hear is her going DADADADADA and sqealing!!!

Glad I did too, a friend got it so bad twice she ended up in hospital on Ab and Drips and ended up losing her milk, so I was pretty clued in to what was happening - as well as hearing from you and MT - so big thanks to both of you!!

Congrats on the wedding, our was nearly 2 years ago we planed everything so it would reflect us and our personality, There wasnt that much traditional about it as in the music was not traditional it had lyrics. Hubbies mom gave him away rather than i got given away. :) It was beautiful!!!!

josh got weighed today.... in 8 days he has gained 120 grams, yes im happy..happy as in at least its a gain but would have liked at least 160. I feel like what im doing just aint good enough. Yes its a gain but not enough i feel. Just gonna have to pick up the pace more i guess :(:rolleyes:
