    Hey Rose

I was due on the 14th of August but little miss decided to come 6 weeks 4 days early!! But in the end she will probably be more inline developmental wise with the August bubs, and I want to keep up with my Belly Buddies anyway!!!

Can't wait to see the rest of our mums and bubs in here!!!

Hey Gudism or do you prefer Mel?

How are things going since you've come home? Settling in well?

Nakita put on 280grams this week - woohoo!!!, so she is now 2760grams

She is doing really well with the weight gain!! But her Jaundice isn't looking as good, it is back on her arms and leg, so my MW called her Paeditrician and she is now going in for a series of blood tests tomorrow and to get her levels done again. Then we are off to see the paediatrician on Friday rather than next week, he wants to check her out. They think that the Jaundice may be related to the fact that she is solely BF'd. Nakita has also been an angel today, sleeping a lot, yesterday hardly at all, so I hope she sleeps tonight as well - I need it!! And she hasn't chucked since her 10am feed - woo hoo, she must have been off for the day or so!! I would love more than a couple of hours sleep tonight... please.

Mountain Mummy is also going to be crashing this thread as we love our girls and Nakita will be more inline developmental wise with these bubs!!!

I think we are only waiting for a couple of girls now, been a crazy couple of days, babies everywhere!!

Look forward to getting to know you!!

    Vic - I prefer Mel

Settling in ok, first day home and all that. My mum cooked up some chicken soup and did a shepherd's pie for me so I didn't have to worry about dinner when I came home - plus she paid some people to clean our windows, and DH made sure the house was pretty clean so all is pretty good here!!!

DD is sleeping at the moment, conked out after her bottle. She has a touch of jaundice too, so have to keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get any worse. I didn't know that being solely BF makes a difference to jaundice? DD has been FF from day one.

Glad Nakita is going great guns with weight gain. DD has only lost 90gm from her birth weight - so is obviously feeding well. Glad yours is sleeping well, cos mine doesn't really want to most of the time.. ahh I hear snuffling from the bassinette. that will be the angel (cos the monster boy is in the cot.. hehe)

I look forward to getting to know everyone here too - although time will be short I would imagine for me (cept on thursdays and fridays when DS is in day care!!)

    xx

Oh well didn't get online during the day yesterday so I am back again in the middle of the night!! Nakita actually went down after her 6pm feed, slept thru til 10, fed bottle 80ml EBM, went back to sleep, we are @ 2.40am, feeding now I guess till about 3.30am o so... then it is a guessing game as to what she will do next.... hopingf she might go thru to seven - yes wishful thinking on my part I guess!

We have our checkup in 12 hours with my OB and MW, don't know how she is going to go weight wise as we both thought today that she feels lighter to both of us! We hope to be proven wrong!

I don't expect we will find out a reason for the PPROM, just one of those things am guessing, will mostly enquire as to "next time" risks of it happening again, monitoring etc.

My Contractor has starting honing (grinding) our concrete footing for our house, we are having polished concrete, so they basically grind it 7-12 times each time with a finer attachment until it comes up very shiny, we threw in a heap of black granite chip into the concrete at the end of the pour, so we ae exposing that, and in then end it will look similar to a polished grey granite. Sooo easy to keep clean, better than tiles as there is no grout! Thursday they are starting the frameworks, and when I dropped by today all the bricks were there.

back to Rachel and Mel- I think there will be a bit of casual waving happening around here while these bubs find their routines, pity we just get used to one routine and thet change it on us!

Squidipa - I haven been hoping it is a growth spurt cos if it isn't I can't wait to find out hat she is like during one!!

Ok little miss has gone to sleep, will have to continue personals later, I need sleep!!

    Hooray Nakita slept until 6.40am

Hey Pixie, Nakita had quite a bit of dry skin, I just used plain sorbelene, "no addatives" on it, two applications in one day used liberal amounts and her skin it looking great now! except for he heat rash!

Glad the emotions are settling Katti, I wonder what the reason is behind not starting the mini-pill until 4 weeks PP... ay least the is what my OB prescribed. Pumps are tricky devices I need to work out how to put Nakita's baby carrier together so at least when she is heavy enough we can use it!

Rose, MM how are you going our other mummies of many

Leasha, I hope your little party girl is giving up the nighttime partying!

Kel how are your girls going

    Must change this stinky bum!!

Cream, I use the Johnson's baby naturals (in the green bottle) - I also use it as a hand cream cause my fingertips are prone to splitting at the moment (but I also read that taking flaxseed oil is good for that too, so I'm doing that too!). About a week after Veygas was born, he went all dry and flaky, and this cream cleared it up in one day! So I have just kept using it to keep him soft and moisturised!! With DD, I used innoxa - baby bath, baby oil, baby shampoo and baby moisturiser (also the innoxa nipple cream worked wonders too!) - but I can't get it anymore, none of the chemists here seem to stock any of it!

Mel - yeah I had an abscess in my groin - bl00dy painful thing it was too, it hurt when I walked, stood, sat - it ballooned to 2cmx3cm in one day, out of nowhere! The doc reckons it was caused by an infected hair follicle! Having it drained hurt as much (if not more) than childbirth, I reckon!!

Early childhood nurse came around and visited today - Veygas now weighs 5620 grams, up 1860 grams from his birth weight (sheesh, nearly 2 kg!) in just 5 weeks! (man, that's an average of 372g per week!) :O Methinks he has started his growth spurt early!! His head circumference is now 39.5cm - 3.5cm bigger than birth!! Funny thing is, he still looks small, and still fits into 0000's with room to grow! So he must just be a short-ar$e like his mummy!! LOL!

Vic - the polished concrete sounds awesome!! What a fantastic idea! Did you guys design the house yourselves? I love the plans, it's so unique!

Well, we all got out of the house on Sunday and spent the day outdoors! Veygas was really good all day, but had a bit of a crappy night (he woke up about 3 or 4 times and feel asleep again after 5minute top up feeds - but I didn't have the heart to wake him to feed more!) It was good to be out as a family though, plus we met up with a friend who separated from his wife about a year ago, and now has sole custody of their FIVE kids - so that was fun, 3 of us trying to keep an eye on 9 kids!!

Hopefully this flu thingy is on it's way out - I gave in and started taking some natural cold & flu tablets cause I was just feeling like crap, and getting really irritable all the time, and I figured I'm no good to anyone if I'm sick and can't do anything!

Anyway, hope all mums and bubs are well - maybe I should jump on in the middle of the night when Veygas won't settle as well!! hehee

    Morning

Feeling reasonable this morning, Nakita has cut the 5am feed out again :woot:, but has been cluster feeding in the afternoon and not sleeping during the day, unless she is on me! so getting work done has been difficult but we will get there.

Had my 6 week @ 8 weeks check yesterday with my OB, there was no reason for thed PPROM that could be foundm there were no infections with me, Nakita or the placenta, everything was in perfect working order. Next time.. and there will be a next time.. I will be monitored from 26-27 weeks as there is a 33% chance of it occurring again within a two week window of this PPROM (so between 31-35 weeks). Had the pelvic floor checked (no cheating with my OB!!) passed with flying colours, have a couple of scar problems, one spot the skin didn't heal flat instead was like a little cauliflower, so that had to be caurtorized with silver nitrate. The about an inch in I have a stitch that didn't dissolve We had tried to dtd before my app, but it was too painful, so she has given me so eostrogen cream to use tweice a day then to see if tht helps if not then I will have to go in have a local and get it snipped

Overall I was really happy with my OB throughout my pregnancy and beyond!!

We gave Nakita a quick weigh in and little tike put on 80grams, I didn't expect much, I thought we could have been heading to a loss she was feeling so light! So she is now a whopping 3190grams, exactly 1000grams over her discharge

MM - I designed the house and left the tricky stuff with the architect

    Squidipa

Hooray for spending the day outdoors with Veygas - we had our first outside BF on Monday and it was lovely!!

Hi to all the other mums and bubs hope to hear from ya soon!

Well I am off, got a friend coming over at 7.45am she is going to look after Nakita and is sending me back to bed - woo hoo!!
