thepixie - I just bite off the skin and hold the piece of fruit (raw, whole) for him and he loves sucking on it. We have been eating lots from our trees so it started off with him grabbed them off me

MT - yay that he's learnt "B"! E said that for a while, latest one he's been doing is "Th" which has been so cute!

    I'M BACK!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe it has taken this long to get connected, but considering we had to change providers totally (and I absolutely REFUSE to go to toolstra! lol) .... aaaahhhhh it's good to be back!

Talk about everything happening at once though ... along with the move, Veygas now rolls EVERYWHERE and has cut his first tooth - bottom right one! He also loves being on his tummy now and can almost get his knees up under himself!

We had a couple of unsettled nights when we first moved, due to beds not being assembled etc, but once he was back in his cot in his own room, he has been an absolute angel! Master K spent the first almost 2 weeks sleeping in bed with me (or with us when DP was home) but now prefers his own bed as well - MINUS the safety rail!

Miss K started kindergarten last week, and golly gosh the house is quiet with 2 of them at school!!! Still so much to get done to have this house looking presentable though! On the plus side, we are getting our whole bond back from our last place, which is good cause we need to get a new oven for our new place!!

I did read all of the posts from the last 2.5 weeks, but have absolute buckleys of remembering or replying to any of them, sorry I feel like I have my sanity back though!!

Anyways, still heaps to do, but now I can pop on at will again, so I'm happy!

Big to all, missed you all soooooooo much! Mwah!!! xxxxxxxxx

Awww Welcome Back MM! We missed you too! Glad to hear the move went well and that the kids seemed to have settled in well!

Jett is still a lazy bum, can roll, just chooses not to!! And certainly no sign of teeth here! Not that I'm complaining the way he has been biting me while feeding at the moment. He even clamps down and looks up and smiles at me! Owie... but cute at the same time

Welcome back MM - I've definitely missed your cheery posts...

Squidipa - I got your PM - sorry I couldn't come today either - I was in Brisbane dealing with lots of loud toddlers....

I dunno about any other personals guys, I'm so unmotivated and a bit deflated tonight.

    Much love to all

MT humph - some night off! she woke up at 7ish and is STILL vocalising away in her cot after being up for 2 hours and having boobie about 3 times... this high maintenance evening behaviour is really annoying me.... it makes it so hard to have dinner before 10pm... anyway that's my whinge
Squids he is on a work trip, coming back on Saturday night
Mel I hear ya on the unmotivated and deflated
MM great to see you back! we missed you too.... yay for V's rolling, and tooth!
kiwigirl cool, DD loves sucking on fruit too..... although she doesn't seem to mind vegies. Yesterday she gummed a piece of broccolini half to death. but today I gave her broccoli and she didn't seem particularly interested in it. The only real difference was the broccolini was from our plate so it had salt and pepper... I wonder if that was it?
I gave her broccoli and carrot but she didn't take an interest... for the BLS mummies, if bub doesn't take an interest do you give something you know they will eat? I considered giving her bread afterwards but then I thought I don't want to start offering different things.... if she doesn't like it she doesn't like it and we'll try again another time.
anyway, rambling now, should get to bed, walking tomorrow at 8!
    night all

awww Pixie. Beth go to sleep now for Mummy! As for BLS, if I give him something he isn't interested in I try something else if it is convenient, or if not I try again some other time. Sometimes it can be another factor that they don't want to eat... tired, bored, cranky etc so I don't push it. It is exactly as it says - baby led!! The idea is that you can give them a variety of food and they can pick and choose what they want to eat and when to eat it.

Pixie - I agree with MT - I've just been putting several things on her tray at once and letting her pick and choose - like tonight, it was the same as aricyn got (Even though he decided to eat the cheezels my friend brought over instead!!) and it was potato, carrot, red capsicum and zucchini. She wasn't overly interested in any of it, so I didn't push it.

Tomorrow I might try her on some pear when Aricyn has his fruit for morning tea.

Welcxome Back MM!!! for you on the new house and re settling!! I am still having fun trying to get my house in order!! And big WAHOO to V on his first toothie!!!!

Mummy Tummy, lol i wish Shane was lazy with his rolling!! He rolls evryWHERE especially when i am trying to change his nappy!! That is so cool that Jett is making so many sounds!! Shane does mmmm (waiting eagerly for it to trun into mmmuummmy!!) and lots of squeeling in general!! Oh and he he is totally doing the clamp down on the boobie thing to- right down to the cute smile as he causes me immense pain!! lol Gotaa love them!!

Pixie We are having the same troubles here with Shane and his night times!! I havent eaten dinner before 10 for a long time!! DH usually cooks, but he tries to wait till Shane is alseep so i can actually eat a meal hot, but Shane just doesnt settle for sooo long!! It is really hard here too because the sun doesnt set until about 9pm so even if i draw all the blinds its still light out and he just wont go to sleep until it gets dark!! And even then he will go down but only for a few hours and then he is back up again!

KiwiGirl.. I started giving Shane some vege for dinner hoping it would help him sleep through- and it didnt work!! If anything it just gave him more energy at made it harder to settle him!! lol Whats your secret??? I have tried giving it to him at about 5:30-6 then he has a little bit of playtime before he has his shower/bath and then boobie for bed. I am still doing pureed vege, should i maybe do finger food with real vege? any ideas?

Beckoes... Is the noise G makes like a grunt kind of noise? Shane does that too- but i know its not his poo noise coz he makes a funny face when he is doing that!! I find he makes the grunty npise when he isfrustrated tired. Oh and i dont like these new poos either!! lol After i gave him some fruit his poo was just off!! thick and gooey!! lol

Squidipa.. When do you head to NZ??

Arimeh... Alot of loud toddlers would make you tired and deflated!! Ohhh is that something to do with your secret?? Are you opening your own child care minding thingy from home???!!

Well Shane is due for his 6 month imm shots on thrusday- he still has a rash- which i still dont 100% know what from- the Dr said excema, but i dont think it is, the pharmacist said heat rash- which i consider more likely, and it could all have an underlying relation to the fact i bought cheap washing powder two weeks ago- mixed with the sweat from the heat. I have re washed all his clothes in his good washing stuff and we are keeping him cool and it is getting better, but its not gone just yet. I will check with the dr on thursday to see if he should still have his shots with the rash or if i should wait for it to go first. Oh why dont these little darlings come with an instruction manual???!!! lol

Have a great day everyone!!! And anyone who needs to- get some rest- bugger the house work and stay in your pjs if you need to!!

    xoxoSB xoxo

    Morning all!

Just remembered, someone asked about cloth nappies... I converted for 2 reasons
    1) Veygas has eczema and the cloth nappies seem to prevent it from flaring up - with disposables, he had CONSTANT nappy rash, and using huggies didn't help, he ended up with that gel stuff all over him (IMO, huggies have gone downhill )
    2) It has worked out alot cheaper as we have 2 in nappies ... I thought going to cloth would encourage Master K to TT, but he is STILL so excited about cloth nappies, however he does tell me when he has weed and pood (about an hour after the fact! ) so maybe he is getting there!

I don't find it any extra work and actually wish I had converted with DS1!!!! Plus they are fun to make!! LOL!

As for solids, I am still a bit wary, but now I have the internet back again, I can look up some foods that V will be OK with ... he has sucked on some fruit (which he loved) but his eczema flared a couple of hours later, so I am unfortunately steering clear ... it's hard when you have other kids who like to share their food with the baby though!

Well might try a cuppa while the little man is asleep and the other one is riding his trike around outside! lol!

ETA: OOh that's right ... SB - if it was eczema, he would be uncontrollably itchy, constant scratching and more than likely he would also have a red raw rash behind his ears and behind his knees (ie warm dampish places) which could also weep and smell a bit ... HTH

Thanks MM, there is a bit of redness on his neck behind his ears- but it hink its more from the skin to skin contact and heat when we bfeed as its always more red on which ever side we fed from last, and its not on the knees and defintly not itchy, he doesnt even notice its there, no smell and no weeping! Thanks it did help!!

    Hey all,

Checkin' in for the day while K is asleep.

Pix - sorry to hear you are having a hard time with Beth and her sleeping at night. I know what that's like, I was going through that phase about a month ago, Kye would wake up every night at the same time and I was like "what is up with this". Was starting to do my head in but then I trialled a few days of not giving him as much milk for the day and he went back to sleeping thru maybe it was just a coincidence.... maybe when Beth wakes up she isnt necessarily hungry??? hmmm dunno, you can always say 'its an age thing'

MT - yay for Jett and his words, thats awesome! Kye has become extremely vocal in the past few days too and alot more alert and aware.

MM - welcome back hun, glad the move went well! Yay for Master V's tooth and his acheivements. He's caught up to everyone else now hehe

SB - what time do you put shane to bed? You could maybe try giving him his food a little earlier. When I first started Kye on vege he was waking up so came to the conclusion it was because his body hadnt had enough time to process it before he went to sleep and he was waking up due to having a bit of wind. Now he has dinner no later than 5:00pm and he has gone back to being ok, I dont know whether it will work for you but I guess you won't know until you try it for a few nights??

Mel - hope you have a better day today hun!

Well I guess I better get a move on - have to do some vege for the man; pumpkin and beans today!

    Catcha's later on!

sasha.. we dont have a set dinner time- i try but it all depends on how he sleeps during the day, and what time i have to pick dh up from work. Generally we have a routine as in the order we do things, but the actual time we do them changes!!! I will feed him the veges then let him play for an hour or so- then shower/bath then bed- so i am feeding him about an hour to two hours before boobie time and bed. Maybe i should feed him a little earlier? Have more play time between food and bath??

just read all the recent posts and there seemed to be loads and cant remember what i was going to say!!

Welcome back MM, yay for the rolling, and wow re: the tooth!! i have been thinking one will pop out soon, but have been thinking that for months!! lol. she just dribbles alot!

Pixie: sorry to hear you are having a hard time atm, some times in the evening G takes an hour to go to sleep! chats for a while, wiggles up to the top of the cot, winges, i go in move her down and pat her for a sec, then leave and keep doing this till she falls asleep, but im not there till 10pm!!!! big hugs, hope it gets better for you!!

SB: Shane and Grace sound like the are quite similar in the things they are doing ATM!! hope his rash clears up!

So, bit of a better night last night, only two wake ups, but took me an hour and a half to get her to sleep the second time, but then she slept till 6.45! She had broccoli and apple mixed together for lunch and loved it!!!! going to give her more a few hours before bed!! when im confident that she is confident....IYKWIM im going to start giving her finger food, i like the idea of BLS but im glad we started off this way. she still dictates how much she eats but IMO wasnt ready for solids in ''that'' way before, and i was happier to start her on solids than use formular. her weight is picking up alittle, but she is still only just over 7kgs!! Got a weigh in and immunisations on monday so we will see then!!
She can now comando crawl the length of our bed in a few mins!!there is lots of bum up in the air and face burried in the bed, but she gets there!!!

    hi to all!!
