Aw Mel, I'm sure Miss M will be fine! I think the warmer weather plays a small part too ... Master V also lost weight and looks skinnier in the legs and tummy, and not quite so chubby in the face (I can also feel the difference, weight wise, when I hold him ... ) Is Miss M more active than before (like kicking, wriggling etc)?
Dunno. We've noticed that she seems to be more tired than usual, but thats probably the bug leaving her system and she's recovering.... I'm guessing...
Has she been eating the usual amount Mel? It can be a bit tricky when they start sleeping too much and not eating enough then end up not having energy to eat properly and subsequently put on weight.
A friend's bub was fully BF'd, and was sleeping through the night (this is from birth and an extreme case;)) and in his first six weeks didn't put on any weight, can you imagine her shock! She hadn't realised, poor girl!
But I am sure it is just her recovering, how long ago was she sick and for how long, prob will take her a while to get going again :hug:

Vic - dunno bout my status - I couldn't PM yesterday - then couldn't get on at all!! So they fiddled around with my account, and thats what worked - or somethin :dunno:
And no - not eating same amount - has about 120-130ml at the moment - last week it was 30/40ml per feed - but the week before that she was knocking back about 160/180ml per feed.
We think she had a belly bug, so was off her food, had the runs and just looked like crap - couldn't get a smile out of her.
Can now though - she is normal, food intake is a little lower and still a bit tired - I'm not too worried, cept the losing weight part sucks...
Hi All. Hope everyone had a great christmas!! we had a lovely day, my first proper christmas in Aus, bit wierd but i loved every minute!
I read everything earlier but couldnt post right away and have forgoten half the stuff i was going to write....but il have a go!

Talking about having another baby right now scares me a little, im more than happy to wait about two years, but a friend of mine got pregnant with her secong while her baby was only 6 months old! and she actually loves them being so close together, they play so well together now!!
My sister is 13 years younger than me aswell, but i was away at uni or traveling or living away from home through most her growing up, which is a shame.
IKWYM about not getting the right measurements when they are screaming, one week Gs head was 44cm the next 41cm, thought OMG her head is shrinking!!
G is now 6.55kgs!

Well, we have been having a bit of a nightmare the last few days, SCREAMED ever time i try to put her to bed, i tried everything, feeding her to sleep, not feeding her to sleep, more sleeps, less sleeps, more covers, less covers, was at witts end, taking 30-45 mins or crying to eventually go to sleep. then a friend suggested she might be over being wrapped!! so i just put her to bed in a kinda sleeping bag thing, not a propper grow bag but same idea and she went to sleep NO PROBLEM, not a single complaint! now is fast asleep!! woohoo:dance:
Only problem is i just went in to check her and she was face down in the mattress, and i mean face down, not head on the side!! i turned her over. but im worried, if she gets in this possition in the night! :o she rolls alot in the night. :wall:
Mel babe try not to worry about it too much, just keep an eye on her weight for a week or two to make sure she is gaining again.
Well, we have another bear-brained scheme in full force here.... it involves a whole frozen pig named Paris. I'm kind of hoping this latest escapade cures the Bear of his River Cottage phase.... it doesn't really work in an inner city apartment :rolleyes:

At least we didn't get pulled over for an RBT check whilst the pig was sitting in the car - that would have been awkward to explain....

Not alot happening here. Just been swimmin' heaps, so bloody hot here today. Themometer says 36 degrees under our entertaining area and the pool is 33 degrees!!
I have K almost doing backstroke in the pool now :rofl: - kicks his legs hard out, so cute!! Have a champion swimmer on my hands me thinks hehe

News: Kye started rolling yesterday, hooray about time! He hasnt quite figured out yet how to move his arm so he can roll onto his tummy though ....guess he'll figure it out soon enough LOL Was funny last night I had him on his mat on the floor just to play, he turned his head to watch the tv and after about 10mins he hadnt really moved so I went and checked and he had fallen asleep :lol: turned out only to be a quick power nap but still funny.
MM - has V started rolling yet?
Oh I started him on solids two days ago. So far in the vege he has tried carrot. Last night I combined half a ice cube of carrot and two teaspoons of farex with some formula and he ate the lot so I was happy with that. He is opening his mouth when the spoon approaches and also happily kicks his legs while I'm giving it to him so I'm thinking they're good signs he is enjoying it. So far I have just been doing plain farex in the morning and then the farex combined with a vege in the early afternoon around 4:30-5:00pm. Another couple of days with the carrot then I think I'll try either pumpkin or avocado?? Any ideas on what other vege to try?
Got woken up to the bloody smoke detector going off this morning at 5:00am, Kye woke up so gave him a bottle and he is now back in bed.
Dont know how long it will last but better get my butt organised and get something to eat while I can LOL

congrats sasha on the rolling, josh seems like he would rather be in jolly jumper or walker he pushes him self back wards in walker. as for solids we tried it about 2 days back bar from rusk sticks thats about it. he doesnt like farex but LOVES pineapple and potato salad dressing. He didnt really eat the farex mind u he loves the eating just not farex he rather lots of dips of things. Loves custard too!!

Havent started solids but tried her with a few tastes of things, loves avo! i think its a good one to try. also sweet potatoe is ment to be good but i havent tried much yet! sounds like hes enjoying it!
I hired a Jumperoo just before christmas for K, he goes absolutely nuts in it, it's hillarious! Vic can vouch for that - I sent her a video the other day of him in it via MMS :lol: Didnt take him long to figure it all out and I reckon it is really helping with the strength in his legs. He is so well balanced on his feet, I dunno I just have this feeling he will be walking at 10 months :dunno: dont ask me why. My mum even says she reckons he is going to walk fairly early. Have to wait and see I guess hehe:
Another funny thing, I had him in the jumperoo this morning and was watching him and I was like hmmmm has he grown overnight, he just look so much taller in it. I ended up having to put up another height level so now its on the highest level it will go PMSL.... somehow I think he will outgrow it before I have to take it back in March LOL

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!
Been so busy the last few days with the party and a friend's bbq yesterday haven't had a chance to get on. Beth has been a bit unwell too, kind of unsettled and very blocked up. She has been finding it harder than usual to get to sleep, waking up in the night (I think that's because of teething pain and blocked nose) and sooooo clingy, I can hardly put her down without her screaming. So it has been a bit tricky and after NYE I've been very tired cause only got about four hours sleep. But the party mostly went brilliantly, we almost ate the whole pig :o and everyone had a great time. BUT there was one really horrible incident. The Bear was trying to finish off the pig carcass in the roast pit and there was a huge flare-up. One of our friends was by the pit and her clothes caught fire. Her husband tackled her to the ground and put out the flames, but she suffered some burns and was really upset because she got burned when she was a child. We put water on her got her upstairs out of her clothes and into a cool bath. Called the paramedics and they were here within about ten minutes and took her to RPA. She stayed the night there because of the pain, apparently the burns are just superficial and she will be OK but it was such a shame. Really marred what would otherwise have been a perfect night.
So anyway....

we just got a new vac the vax upright wide track and my oh my im glad i bought it the crap its pulling out is amazing:rolleyes: hubbie also bought me a beasty 4 slice toaster ya know the ones on half price sale at target this week from 74 down to about 34 or something? yeah looks good next to my saeco machine:)

Got back from our camping trip late last night. Jett was great and seemed to enjoy it. This morning however he has not stopped crying and is being extremely clingy..... do we need to go camping more often?? We had fantastic weather and it was great to get out on the jet ski again. Haven't been able to use it since the summer before I was pregnant!!! Had to watch from the sidelines last year :(

Sash - Veygas isn't rolling yet ... he still hates being on his stomach for more than a minute, and on his back, he rocks from side to side. He has started to arch his back so that he can turn his head to look at things behind him, but no rolling :dunno:
Veygas still isn't really interested in solids yet (no big rush I guess) but he is quite happy to chew on a rusk stick. He has been dreadfully clingy today and crying nearly non-stop :o His eczema has also flared up heaps - all over his face, arms and really badly behind his legs (despite having put cortisone cream on yesterday evening) .... the IL's were here (AGAIN :rolleyes:) yesterday and they both smoke like chimneys, and after doing some net surfing today, I'm wondering if their smoking residue has something to do with the flare up?? But they are so stubborn, they won't see that it's their actions doing this to their grandchild ...
MT - just realised that you posted your crying/clingy bit this morning ... hope Jett is better for you now! I finally got V to sleep about half an hour ago (no sleep all day since about 9am! He screamed blue murder every time I tried)
On another note, I am really peed off with our conveyancer, as she is on holidays till the 12th and all of our loan docs etc for settlement need to be sent by the 9th :angry: PLUS she KNEW she would be away til then and KNEW our settlement date and didn't say anything before christmas, so we have basically been left doing it ourselves ... I'll be glad when we have moved and it's all over cause I have been so stressed lately!

MM im so sorry about ya family and thier smoking and the impact on v, I can at leasts ay with one side of my family smoking heaps im glad im a state away. Can you maybe get some info and show them? If there anything like my folks they wont read or listen anyhow. Its so frustrating even if they do smoke out side its all over there skin hair and clothes its so hard when i dont smoke it seems so ewwl of a smell.

Josh still wakes at around 2 and gets in bed with us for cuddles to feed at 4 or 5am, altho sometime times just sometimes hubbie has been able to egt him to sleep in cot for longer.
Lucky me the always sore lady i think i should be on a disabilie payment with all my crap now its the tendon/ligament at back of right ankle who would have guessed:wall: and yesterday i had a half a day with my right knee locking up. Cant wait to get to top of waiting list soon. altho with this pregnancy being over meaning josh, My knee is so not causing me as many problems. so :dance:
oh and also i had um sorta a no go period yes warning tmi comming up.... slightly brown mucus followed by 1 drip of blood and thats it all over as quick as it started.:rolleyes: that would make it about the 3rd time its happened now at around the 28 day time.

Hi!!! Sorry I have been MIA!!
2 Days ago I had writtena huge list of jobs I had to do and showed DH and he said "oh you have to add another thing to that list... pack you bags.... we are going to the farm.." me.... "yay yay yay" It had beena ges since we had gone to the farm, he had organised it a few weeks ago with my parents. It was fab to get out of the city we spent new years night at a local beach town which puts on a really good fireworks show and this years was awesome - my parents and friends of our all said it was the best in years :)
We got back late this arvo and I have been trying to finshi my job list that I never got to do, so I...
Fixed our irrigation system (had a break so i had to do a repair)
Done two laods of washing
Filled all our big waterbottles with rainwater
Took out the rubbish and the recycling
Watered the garden
Unpacked all of our stuff from the trip away
And more other bits and pieces! Now to spend some quality time with DH :)
I will be back to do personals maybe... later tonight but mroe likely tomorrow xxoo

Glad to hear we arnt the only ones with a crazy crying unsettled baby! Just as we got over the terrible day sleeps a few days ago and now the night sleeps have just gone to pot!!
Thursday and Friday night....Bed at 6pm, up 10.30 till 11.30 and again 2.30 till 4.30, up at 6am for the day
Last night...bed at 6pm, up 10.30 till 11.30. Up again 1.30 till 2.30 then again at 4am, tried to bring her in to our bed then for a feed and more sleep but she wasnt interested...wanted to play!! She has just gone back down now!
I wondered if it might be teething, or maybe she is hungry....does seem to be feeding alot more atm. But hearing everyone else say how they are having similar problems i guess its the age or just one of those things.
Hope everyone manages to have better days/nights today....luckily DH id off today so he can have her while i catch up on some sleep later!

Bec - I was wondering about teething too, but he isn't excessively drooling or have red cheeks or toxic wees so if he is they are only annoying at the moment rather than cutting! I also thought maybe he is ready for the next level of feed and is trying to increase my supply. He woke up at 4am this morning and point blank refused the dummy. I can usually get it in at least once!! Then he fed from me both sides and we mostly feed from one side only, especially in the morning when my supply is at it's greatest. He then woke at 8 and did the same thing and complained when it was all gone. He also had a late feed last night at 11.30 which is out of routine too.
So we have gone from last feed somewhere between 9 and 10 and next feed between 7 and 8, to 11.30, 4 an then 8, all both sides!!! :o
Same here too! K has been a bit unsettled at night too lately. Most nights he is in bed around 730 but yeah the past three nights I have had to resettle him at 8:30pm and 9:20pm - no word of a lie the EXACT same time for the past 4 nights :lol: He resettles quickly though, all I need to do is pick him up and hold him for about 5 minutes and he goes back to sleep, but yeah soooo strange why he is continuing to do it each night :dunno: Kye is 20 weeks today :dance: have been hoping it's a 'week' thing. Guess tonight I will find out hehe:
Oh he tried PEAR last night for dinner and again this morning for breakfast - absolutely loves it!!
Anyways housework to do while he is sleeping!
