Sasha - Don't feel bad about the jumperoo - it is there for Kye to have fun in and I am sure he has. If you want long term evidence that it won't necessarily do harm - My PIL used to put DH in a jumperoo and he used to spend so much time in one his balls would turn blue!!! MIL thought she had done permanent damage, but Jett is living proof that everything is ok in that department :lol: and he does not have any spinal or hip issues!! His little sisters were left in them for hours at a time (they used to fall asleep in them!!) and both of them are just fine too with no issues! None of them see osteos or chiros or physios either!

Kiwigirl - Jett isn't too keen on the sitting up bit but he is always happy to stand holding on to furniture too! He's been doing that for a couple of months now, but really well for a few weeks now!! Yeah don't stress abouth the rolling, E has developed his sitting and standing skills instead...he'll get back to rolling one day!

Squidipa - Sorry to hear about the car... and passport saga.

Pixie - It's been ridiculously hot here too, and I also have been out walking each day.... but I always feel better for it!

Mel - I hope the kids get sorted soon, it must be so tiring for you, especially while you are guarding a secret!! So when you gonna tell? Huh huh huh?

Sasha: all those veggies sounded like they went down well!! G has really been taking an interest the last few days, id been trying her with things on and off but yesterday she had a few mouthfulls of mushed rockmellon with DH. and today she had some sweetpotato mixed with some of my milk, loved it!

We bought a Safe and Sound Premier, its great, she looks so happy and comfy and i feel like she is really safe tucked up in there!! :p
her sleeping is back to a normal and manageable situation, only two wake ups the last few nights, day sleeps are pretty good, not to much hastle getting her to sleep. :dance: just making the most of it before the next change comes along!!

As im sitting here on the computer i can feel a cool change coming in...thank god, its been SO hot and muggy here today!!

Oh my goodness, everyone has gone so quiet???

Well thought I'd come in to report that it's been a good day here, for two reasons:

1) Kye slept for 2 1/4 hours this morning - couldnt believe it! He has never slept for that long during the day, and he was in his cot too :dance: I was sooo proud LOL

Secondly, I had him on the floor this morning; just lazing around, took his nappy off so he could feel 'free' and he rolled from his tummy to his back by himself :hooray:
He seems to move around alot easier when he doesnt have his nappy on :lol:

Oh and another thing, the past two days I have kept his bottles at 120ml each and he has slept through both nights so conclusion; the nights he was doing those wake ups at 830pm and 930pm he was obviously too full. Dunno I just feel much better that I might of finally nutted it out, hopefully it will continue and I will be rewarded with a smaller gain in weight each week hahahaha yeah right! this is Kye we are talking about :rofl:

Anyway thats my excitement for the day, hope you're all doin well!

I'm off to get myself something to eat!

Its been too hot today for G to sleep much. and too hot to sit at my computer much longer.

I was at the gym just now and Beth was in the creche and she got so upset they had to come and get me out of the class :crying: I felt like such a bad mummy for putting her in there! Hope she's not traumatised cause I still have eight more visits :doh:
O and the other thing.... we're up to day 4 with no poo..... I'm really getting worried, she has never gone more than about 24 hours without a poo before... and she's drinking constantly, because its so hot any thought of structured mealtimes is out the window, I'm just giving her a drink whenever she wants it.... I'm really worried about the explosion when it comes! Yesterday I even gave her prune juice with her banana in the hope that it would get something moving.... but so far nothing :o
MG later today and in the meantime, just trying not to melt!~

Banana can make bubs constipated, try some apple as well to help get things moving :)

She is also prob using up everything you are giving her, N's longest was 8 days :o

Had her imms this morning - much better, went to the Dr's instead of CAYHS, both got done at the same time and I followed with a BF straight after :):)

N is now fast asleep in her swing, no solids for lunch she fell asleep beforehand, but not bothered, she can do what she wishes today :)

Sasha : after what you said about K being to full to sleep for a long time i started thinking. G has been waking at 12.30 and 3.30, i feed her both times, presuming she is hungry. Last night she woke at 10, instead of feeding her like i normaly would have i just put her back to sleep and she slept through till 5.30!!! I couldnt belive it! then i fed her and she slept till 7.30!!!!!!! is it normal for them to sleep better when fed less??? i just presumed that more food = less hunger = more sleep. we will see what happens tonight!!

josh has gone a very long time with out pooing andwhen he did go it wasnt really that bad. Also josh wakes all throughout the night like about 20 times but i dont feed him every time i offer feeds at 10.30 2 am and 4 or 5 more than likely he doesn't drink the bottle anyhow. How ever if i pick him up at 2am and put him in bed with me he doesnt wake as much and goes longer with out bottle.

so i think in my case hunger hrmmm mabe not wet nappy wind cold hot uncomfortable maybe facters in joshies waking. also over sleeping may be a fcter as josh sleeps at aroun 6 or 7 and can go till 8am but thats very brief wakes dummie or bottle and back down in his sleepy way. so as for us we still working somethings out. we have tried to keep him up longer in day but that didnt work and he will sleep till 5am o.k and till 8am if i am in bed with him he likes to be almost smotherd in cuddles with his feet sort squashed up a bit like in the womb or when they raise thier legs to poop.

oh also thought ild share with ya.... ya know how josh only gained 110 grams well im concerned now what will next weeks be its been dropping down and down and down he drinks 1250 ml a day well maybe not that concerned just thinking what will wednesdays be i am hoping on more than 100 IYKWIM i wonder if its this humity too i mean ds3 lost over kilo recently he int underweight weight 15.4 kilo now but it just got me thinking.
Anyone notice the weeks are just rushing by its crazy i cant believe it. just everything rushing by here i am having girls night with dd10 and she has this wopper pimple on her face i like thinking lastweek ya had one on ya nose my oh my.

oh btw the bloke confessed and i got my car qote 1300 and its being repaired yay but not for 5 weeks:) as they are totally booked out and i wont have my car from 27th till 4th march grrr but oh well at least ts getting fixed. im now thinking i should have paid more so i could have had a hire car given to me oh well we learn hey.

Had a weigh in ourselves yesterday, she is now 7.03kg, a gain of 183g. dont know if the heat affects the weight, although i guess they could loose fluid from sweating....not sure on that on SQUID. But i know that G is SO much more active so thats makeing a difference for her i think.

One of the main causes of her waking up at night is that she manages to get from the bottom of her cot right up to the top, so that her head is squashed up against the cot bars and it wakes her up!!!

Also, we have a mosquito net over her cot, a full lenth one that goes from the ceiling to floor, but she has just started to grab it through the cot bars and pull it in to the cot, worried she might get tanggled up in it!! But didnt want to take it off yet, still loads of mozies about!!! ????

Re the T-shirts SQUID, my DH saw one that he was going to get for G. As im english and he is aussie.... It said ''50% Mum, 50% Dad, 100% Aussie''

Started giving G regular lunch for the past week, i tried with something and she loved it and the next day so guess she is ready now, we have had sweet potato, carrot, avo, DH gave her rock mellon which she LOVED but they recommend waiting till 8 months for that...oh well. And i cooked some appricots and gave her that mixed with baby rice....the fav so far!!! Im happy she is enjoying it, although some days she will still be opening her mouth and searching for more when its all gone and some days she will have a few mouthfulls and not be interested!! but im happy for her to decide. Today im cooking up Parsnips and peaches...not together...:lol: to add to my collection in the freezer. I think we will have pear for lunch.

Anyway, enough rambling, got to attemt to get the washing dry, raining out side, steamy inside, too hot to use the dryer...

hey becka thanks for your reply, 183 is good weigh in result i think congrats, G hs been eating laods of different things i havnt really tried much of lots of things, keeping with one thing for many days at a time to wait and see a reaction and then it turns out to be his fav so refuses other things......

Is it like well breast feeding is so time consuming and hard at times but i want to do it and push myself through any of those barriers and feel proud caus ei know its best, same as cloth its time consuming but i know its best and i know ill be proud of my self at the end of the day? i dunno sorry if i offend anyone.... just wondering if at all that comes into your mind along with the fact that better to be more pure on babies bum that chemical made things

i am suprised that so many of you are trying avo we havnt and to tell ya the truth prolly wont till he is 3 as hubbie is alergic to it. but i have heard of other ppl beeing alergic to it, Good on ya babies loving it tho i wish all my kids would eat it. only 1 child eats avo. Prolly as i dont. josh hastarted with this need i wnat u now scream and stops as soon as ya pick him up the cheaky beautiful bom. its very loud!!. especially at 2 and 4 am.

Squidipa - I use cloth full time on both of mine and don't think its too much hassle or extra work. Its one load every 2 days, and I put them on the line when the kids go to bed, and then 2 days later, take them off,hang up the newly washed ones.

If I could do it AND work 3 days a wek - I think anyone can. ;)

Everything is fine here now it's not so hot! The poo drought was broken yesterday and it was fine, not even a nappy explosion. Thanks for the tips on constipation, I ended up using prune juice to mash up her fruit and not sure if that did it or not but I've got it now just in case.
A quick question probably for you Vic, how did N go with her six months needles? I found the four month ones really knocked Beth around, so hoping the six months ones don't do the same, I feel like we've only just recovered from the four months ones!

Squid, its good to wait a few days between trying new things, G had already had avo to taste about 5 times with no reaction, same with sweet potato so when she had something new for a few days i would follow with those as i knew she had no reaction to them, probably not the way to do it, but we havent had any reation yet and no allergies that run in the family, not going crazy though, just retrying the things we had already had now. Avo was the first thing we tried, mainly as i eat it quite a bit and she would just take it from my plate!! lol

Pixie, we have our injections next week!! big hugs to both our bubs for that day!! think i hate it more than she does though!

no im not bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning but the last 3 nights joshie has been sleeping better. Plus recently hubbie has beening doing the 2 am feed. last night dream feed at 11 the change bom and feed at 2 and then back sleep till 5.30 and for the first time i think ever he woke up in a good mood playing in his cot. yay so no 20 times wake ups for us, it seems like he is staying asleep and more content this mybe as we changed his bottles to mostly all avent ones recently i dunno but hey its working.

awwl nearly had spew in key board of lappy. weigh in day tomorrow for us hrmmm maybe 100 or 200?

Happy Australia Day!!

Squidipa - it's weigh in day for us tomorrow too - first one in six weeks so it's gonna be interesting! My guess is that Kye is around 10.2kg total now :crossfingers: any more than that and I'll think hit the floor. I'm acutally looking forward to getting back to being able to track his weekly gains again. I'm finally at the stage where I am feeling good about his 'routine' and he has cut back the amount of formula he is drinking quite considerably. I guess it's because he has increased his amounts of solids at each meal - breaky usually has 2-3 tablespoons, lunch is usually 3 or 4 tablespoons and dinner is usually 2 or 3 tablespoons. Based on those amounts I guess he is getting enough LOL He has gone back to sleeping through and not doing the wake ups at 8:30 and 9:10pm which is great :dance: I was starting to lose the plot there for a while haha

Beck - I'm thinking of giving Kye avocado today for lunch. I put a bit of mashed banana in with his pear and apple this morning, he was a bit unsure about the diiferent flavour I think. He loves pear so much so his look on his face was like 'this is not what I usually get' hehe

Good to hear G is enjoying her solids. I might give Apricots a go aswell - I looked at them the other day when I was in the fruit shop but wasnt sure whether they would mush up? Did you have any dramas, how did you cook em? Did you take the skin off?

Anyways will leave it there, have to jump in the shower .... the boy is due to wake up very soon!

Hey...HAPPY AUSTARALIA DAY to all!!! we are just about to head out for a BBQ as soon as DH gets home from work!

Sasha, with the apricots i cut an X in the skin on the bottom, dunked them in boiling water for a min or two then in icey water, the skin came off really easily then i just chopped them up and stewed them in a pan , they fell apart in to a lovely mush! very easy! :lol:
G has a deffinate sweet tooth!!! like me...:rolleyes: i made parsnip and peaches and gave her a little lick of each before i froze them up....was NOT keen on the parsnip, but wanted more than a taste of the peaches, but it was only ment to be a taste so she will have to wait for that!!

Squid: yay that joshie is sleeping better and you not up 20 times in the night!!! i thought we had it bad when G was up 5-6 times!!!

Injectiond were btter this time, we went to the Dr's rather than CAYHS, it was bulkbilled, so no cost :dance:, they did both at the same time, I booked her app at a feed time, so we gave her the needles then followed with a Boobie Feed, and she coped at LOT better. She had big lumps on her legs this time though, but theya re looking better now. Was sooo much better than last time!!!

Must run got a friend over from Leeds for a couple of days :)

Been a rough day today - Miss M did NOT want to go to sleep - she started to on her 10am bottle, but her monster brother came over and poked her in the head and screamed in her face so she woke up - then sleep was not an option. Finally got her down just before on the 1pm bottle - she didn't drink very much - but hopefully she stays asleep for a while... she needs it!!!

Some days I'm jealous of you guys with only one baby!!!!!

Of course NOW he is quiet and watching elmo.

Hey Everyone!

Sorry I've been MIA, went aay camping on the weekend again! Such an Aussie thing to do....camping on the Murray, waterskiing and sweating it out in the heat!!

Jett is doing fantastically, apart from we still get our wake ups in the night. Usually only one now though... but still he was always such a good sleeper! :(

I can't remember what I posted last so sorry if I am repeating myself...

Jett has had his 4 month injections at 5 months and we have had no reactions, we have been continuing on the BLS food trail and so far we have banana as an absolute favourite, carrot is pretty good and so is wholemeal toast. Also seems to love lettuce, keeps stealing it from my plate! Not sure what I'll try next... other than that not much is new.

Squidipa - t-shirt idea - "True Blue Aussie Kiwi Kid" Oh and we use cloth nappies cos to me they are no harder to use than sposies, instead of putting them in the bin you put them in the wash! And they just look soooooooo much cuter on their bums!

So, you might be thinking what the heck am I doing posting at 1:40 in the morning. Well the boy decided to wake up didnt he, just given him a drink and he's fast asleep again :dance: He ended up only having about 680ml for the day yesterday (I know not very much) so I was expecting him to wake up for another bottle but more like around 9pm-10pm not now LOL oh well ..... got tied up with the tennis last night so didnt get a chance to get back to catch up on the posts so thought I'd do it now before going back to bed.

Mel - sorry to hear Miss M had an unsettled day yesterday, K was similar too actually. I had to go out twice and he soooo didnt wanna be in his car seat, cracked it majorly while I was trying to do the belt up, once we got going though he fell straight asleep, little bugger LOL

Anyways back to bed for me - I'm walking with a friend at 6:30am so I guess I better get a few more hours sleep!

Sasha - I hope you woke up well this morning after your late night ;) Today has started off better than yesterday already - she's down for a nap now - huge improvement from yesterday. I think she has a tooth coming through as well - also on the bottom - but on the right ;) DS got both the middle teeth through at once when he was first teething, but it feels like she is just cutting the one.
And OMG - 10kg?!?!?! Geez mine needs to stack some weight on me thinks!!!! lol.... I'll take mine to the docs next week if I can get an appointment - have to take DS for his 2 year check up anyway.

Mel- All ABC centres must be the same I had Cadence in one when she was 9 months and it was very yucky.

I forgot to mention I have Allegra in daycare one day a week now while I go to work. Today was here second day she was a very good girl on her first day. When I left both times she stared back at me with her big blue eyes as if to say mum where are you going? breaks my heart

Pixie - Yeah I cook the carrot first. Cook it so it is soft but still holds form. If I don't cook it enough he ends up biting off pieces that are a bit big and then spends the whole meal gagging it back up and trying again!! The smearing is half the fun of food!!

Kel - That look you are talking about will break my heart when I eventually go back to work too. I hate leaving him in the gym creche for an hour!! I am gonna miss my daily doses of smiles!

Mel - Awww! Junior kindy....no longer a toddler? Why do they have to grow up so quick?

Sasha - Wow! 10kgs, that is too hard for me to imagine. Jett is only just over 6kgs!!

Squidipa - Poo about the pooter. That is so frustrating!

ETA: Beema - Wow!! Hot here too, has just peaked (in my local area) at 42.4, at 5.00pm!! Stoopid weather... am thinking I will hang out in a shopping centre tomorrow!! I need to get Jett out of the house, but it needs to be cool.

I think Jett can recognise his name now.... I called it out today and he stopped grizzling, looked at me and waved his arms and legs about very excitedly. I said it a few more times, added a few other phrases and words and each time I said "Jett" he would pause and wave his arms and legs about. Maybe?

ETAA: Ooh and since writing my post, Jett has just sat on his own for the first time. I haven't practiced it much with him cos he always prefers to stand. We had a little go yesterday with very limited success, so I thought I would give him another go just now and he did it straight away. Even had the fine tuning movements happening and was able to reach out and play with a toy!! I'm such a proud Mummy right now, cos it looks like he just figured it out on his own last night before going to sleep!!! I can just see him nows while playing with his fingers thinking to himself "Next time I'll try putting my hands out in front of me and if I wiggle my butt a little bit I just might be able to stay upright.....yeah I'll give that a go next time...."

Pixie- I was laughing at all the other stories too! LOL at the banana facial. It's so cute when they fall asleep in your arms makes you feel so special.

MT- I know she cried when she had to go gt changed before I could take her home and she couldn't see me anymore there was a tiny little tear rolling down her face. How long till you go back you reckon? I say if you can go back part time or casual to start with going back full time is soooo hard. Thats fantastic that Jett recognises his name

I just had one of those tear up moments I was singing (that heaven song) to Allegra as she was drifting off to sleep sucking on the bottle she was fighting so hard to just stare in my eyes I REALLY love those moments I will miss them when she grows up to Cadences age.
