Misty - We are the same, today he wanted to go down at 5pm and that is just too late, and crazy time around here getting dinner etc ready and the older kids fed and bathed. So I held him out until 6.15pm and then had to put him down, he was beside himself. Not going to make for a good evening me thinks...
Willow - We are the same with the sleeps - 3 a day and TBH I think she needs it. She can't get through the day without turning into a blubbering mess if she doesn't have the 3rd one. We are up at 7, do the school drop off at about 9 and she usually falls asleep in the car on the way home. After this our day is pretty unpredictable LOL What happens next depends on how long she sleeps for, anywhere between 30 mins and around 2 hours. But she is usually awake for the school pickup at 2.30 (but thats changing to 3.10 the week after next) and if she isn't she wakes up when we get there because its so loud. She also won't settle for the night until DD1 is asleep (about 8.30) and until I am there (we cosleep) so she goes to sleep fairly late anyway, but I find if the last nap is after about 6pm then we'll be awake until 11pm :o Not good! Sorry I'm not a lot of help really, I'm trying to just go with the flow - easier for me cause I don't have another LO at home either! - but the only thing I can think of is wake him up a bit early from the 2nd sleep maybe? Would he be too grumpy if you did that? I guess its sometimes a case of grinning and bearing it, hard to do I know when they are not sleeping at night much either :wall: I feel for you...and I'm sorry to hear you've got the cold thing happening too :(
Misty - Oh no about the chocolate! I guess at least DS1 was sharing.....Sorry to hear Baz is sick :( hope he's feeling better soon.
:hello: everyone else!
Hi ladies,
Willow - Routine is as follows:
Wake up 6:30am - WITHOUT FAIL!!!!!
Morning nap around 9:00am (usually falls asleep on the way home from school drop off)
sleeps for around 40 mins to an hour and a half.
Midday sleep - 12-12:30pm - sleeps for 40mins to an hour and a half.
Afternoon sleep from about 3:30-4:00 till about 5ish.
Bedtime around 8:00-8:30pm.
He is usually a little difficult between 6 and 7, but we stretch him out with dinner, cuddles and bathtime, sometimes I let him have a quick nap (maybe 10 mins) at about 6ish to get him through. Bed earlier than 7:00-7:30 results in waking up 2-3 times a night, but bed by 8-8:30 results in a good night sleep for all of us.
So there you have it. I find bathtime the best way to stretch him out because he is so distracted by it.
Got to go, bbl, baby awake...ALREADY!!!!!
Issy.
Hey guys,
Our day sleep pattern is pretty similar to Lochies'. We went swimming today and it was soooo fun. Great to see the boys in the water. Eli went under for the first time and was really good! Lochie was just cracking up laughing, loves the water! I also have some very exciting news. Some people may know that issy is my BF and we were lucky enough to share our PG together and study our teaching degree together too. Well, I am so lucky and honoured that I am going to be Lochie's god mother! :leap: I am so happy I get all teary when I think about it! So Eli and Lochie will be god brothers! Had to share my happy news.
Misty - hope Baz is doing better. Could it be the dreeded teething playing havoc?
megsmum - how are the sleep going? We are still up evert 3 hours. It will pass! ;) hopefully!
tk - hope you are a little better hun
trish - did the sleep thingy work?
:grouphug: and talk soon..
Rach xx
Rach - Awww, that's so lovely. We had our christening on the weekend and my two best friends were D's godmothers :)
Well it sounds like we are in a very similar routine to most of you.
Last night however was HORRENDOUS! It took me two HOURS to settle him off to sleep. I'm not sure if he's teething again because his bottom gums are all red and inflamed or if it was just a bad night. I guess I"m getting a little disheartened because I really don't want to go down the same road we did with DS1, it seriously nearly did me in. In the end we went to sleep school when he was 10 months and although I don't regret it, I don't want to go back again. I'd feel like a total failure :( D was such a wonderful sleeper to start with (and still is during the day), I seriously don't know what's happened. I'm just trying to ride it out for now but some nights it does my head in.
We are doing a bit better with solids this week, tried sweet potato and corn and he loved it! He also surprised me by sipping water out of a sippy cup today, one of the Tommy Tippee ones with the straw :o I'd be pretty happy if we can just skip straight to those cups.
He had his check up with the paed yesterday and he was happy, we don't have to go back for another 4 months :) He is a whopping 9.8kg and 68cm long. His HC has only grown by about 1cm in the past 3 months so that was good news.
Better go, someone needs to be fed!
Hey Williow
Sounds like DS is doing beautifully with the sippy cup and straw. I haven't ventured there yet, hopefully it will be a smooth transition. I hope you get some better sleep soon..... It is so hard when you are exhausted isn't it? You are not a filure even if you did (which I don't think you will) need sleep school again. Each bub is different as they say...
Rach xx
Forgot to brag....DS is sitting on his own now and is also saying 'dadda' and very occasionally 'bubba'.
Another horrendous night last night so gotta brag about the good stuff :)
Hello girls
Sorry I'm short of time - DS is trying to crawl & keeps screaming for me to help him!! We started solids Tuesday with Rice Cereal. Geez it's causing me nothing but stress :wall: He looks like I'm trying to poison him & reeeeeally seems to hate the stuff!! So I've bought some of the Rafferty's Garden Porridge but now I'm not sure about that either  because it's porridge not rice cereal. Oh how I wish he could just be breastfed forever lol.
Just quickly to Willow asking about routines. DS is up between 7-8am but only for about an hour. He has 3 sleeps during the day, one of which will be 2+ hours. I never know which nap will be the big one - it really depends on what is going on that day. More often than not it's the middle sleep. The other two sleeps are about 45 minutes. Bedtime varies everyday but is somewhere between 6-8pm.
Cheezel - You could try him on pureed or mashed vegies. I haven't done rice cereal with my kids at all (well briefly with the first I think). I think the porridge would be OK if it's from 6 months plus. DS is having mashed sweet potato with a bit of creamed corn mixed in. He loves it! I'm going to try some brocoli and carrot this coming week.
When they get to the stage that they're having 3 meals a day, I use the porridge and baby cereal stuff for breakfast with fruit mixed in but we aren't any where near that stage yet.
Hi all
Posted earlier but my computer died GRRRRR Anyway...
Cheezel - some babies just aren't ready for solids at 6 months, so maybe stop for now and try again in a few weeks or so. Otherwise as Willow suggested just go straight to pureed veg.
Willow - no point telling you our routine as we don't have one! Congrats to D - thats one smart baby you have there!
AFU - M has come down with a cold. I don't know how she got it as DS is the healthiest he's been for months and we haven't been in contact with anyone else. Off to have her vax tomorrow so it will be interesting to see if the Dr will go ahead with it.
Caught my MIL trying to give M a piece of steak today. I told her not to in time. She tried to do the same thing with DS when he first started solids. :wall: Its not that I object to the meat so much but more that she took it upon herself to feed our child a new food without even checking with us. GRRRRR
Good news - M's room is now painted. I am really happy with the colour we chose. Next weekend we'll put up some shelves and put some final decorating touches. Might also move her in this week.
Hello girls
We have started DS on the porridge & he seems to really like it, phew!! If he keeps going well I'll introduce veggies next week. Thanks everyone for your suggestions!!
Willow - will probably start with sweet potato next week, that seems to be a popular one. I hate the stuff though!! When do they start having 3 meal a day anyway?
Saffi - M's room must look fantastic now it's painted, when are you thinking of moving her in? :o at the steak without asking you!! So glad you caught her first, hopefully she won't take it upon herself to give M new foods again.
Cheezel - I started E on rice cereal and EBM on the weekend and she hates it too LOL screwed up her face and spat it back out like it was some kind of nasty poison! I was thinking I might try some sweet potato too but hmmm maybe I might give the porridge a go first - glad DS likes his :)
Saffi - Yay for getting the room painted! But bugger about the cold :( hope she feels better soon.
Willow - Clever DS!! My only brag is that E is waving a little now - not all the time but now and again, especially when we take DD1 to school, she just lifts her arm and waves it. How'd you go with sleep last night? We've had another couple of shockers, waking every 2 hours.
Tippytoes and Issy - How lovely that you are BF's and had your bubs at the same time! Hope you have a lovely christening :)
Hi everyone else :)
AFU, well solids have been less than a hit LOL but will keep on persisting I guess - it has only been 2 days and we gave her a little bit of watermelon to suck in her mesh thingie yesterday afternoon and she seemed to like that. I think she just doesn't like the rice cereal, so hopefully we might have some luck with something else today. She's asleep ATM so I'm going to try again when she wakes up. We're off to have our needles tomorrow, how much fun will that be - NOT! She has screamed the surgery down for the last 2 lots, so not expecting tomorrow to be any better!
Saffi - Grrrr, I hate when people do that! Glad you pulled her up on it. Hope Immy is feeling better soon
Cheezel - I think probably around 8-9 months they're having food three times a day?? but it totally depends on the baby. My DS1 took forever and wasn't having 3 meals a day till probably 12 months (he was a total boobie monster though and was probably having too much milk at one stage so he just didn't have the appetite for solids iykwim?). DD on the other hand loved her food and she was probably about 9 months.
Megs - Well we moved D into his own room last night :( and had mixed success. He woke at 11pm, had a feed and went back to sleep but then woke at 1am and didn't settle till 2.20am :wall: BUT...he then slept for 5 hours!! He hasn't done that for a loooooong time. We are also trying to get him going on solids so hopefully the new combo will help :dunno: He has been waking 2 hourly too so I soooo feel your pain. He has gone down for his morning nap in his room OK - he woke after 45mins but has put himself back to sleep....I hope! In any event, he's very quiet in there.
Well ladies...I have an appt at the gym today to talk to them about membership :o Something I really want to do for myself but not sure if I'll manage it with the boys, school runs and DH training 3 nights a week but I'm going to give it a go!!
Hi Girls,
Just a quick one, ill bbl...we have a baby on the move over here. He is scooting around everwhere, only comando crawling, but he is very quick I tell ya!!!! He is also sitting up on his own now, he did it for half and hour last night...thinks he's very clever too.
Also, tried sweet potato and apple (mashed together) the other night and he loves it! I find sweet potato a bit dry and hard to swallow sometimes, but a bit of apple makes it lovely. Apprently apple and carrot are good combos too.
Right, time to clean, chat soon.
Issy.
Hi everyone!
Issy - I love your photo of Lochlann, he's soooo cute! What a clever little man getting around!!
Willow - Good on you for considering joining the gym! I don't know where I'd find the time LOL! That's great that D slept for 5 hours straight last night!! I hope he keeps it up for you :D
Megsmum - Wow @ E clapping, she is so clever! I'm sure she will start getting into solids soon. What rice cereal did you try?
CheezelMonster - I'm glad your DS likes porridge! Oh, and I'm so glad you got lots of use out of that cradle!!
Saffi - I hope poor M feels better soon. Well done on painting her room! And how annoying is your MIL?! Some people have no idea .
Tippytoes - I'm glad Eli is having fun swimming! I've yet to take Alana. The Safe T Sleep is working well, thanks for asking!
Misty - I hope Baz is feeling better the poor thing.
Mrzbaby - Thanks for popping in and CONGRATULATIONS again!! I hope all is going well :D
Hi to everyone else :hello:
AFU - All is going well. Alana is getting over a cold which was making her a bit unsettled. She's still up on her knees rocking, trying to go forward, but only managing to crawl backwards. She gets so frustrated LOL! We haven't started solids yet, but will soon. She's sleeping really well which is great. She seems to have her body clock set at waking up at 5am though, you could set your watch by her! I usually resettle her, but if I can't I feed her and she sleeps until about 7:30 - 8am.
She's such a happy and cheeky little girl and her big brothers absolutely dote on her. I think she'll be very spoilt for years to come :). She loves to grab her eldest brother's hair and then she squeals loudly like it's the best thing ever . DS1 loves it, strange boy!
I hope everyone is well!
Hi Everyone
Wow busy in here. Eli is also on the move crawling away... He is suffering terribly with teething atm. Today our amber teething bead necklace arrived - looks so gorgeous on him. Hopefully it will bring some relief I'll let you know how it goes.
Trish - hope she gets over her cold soon. How lovely to have her brothers dote on her, gorgeous.
Megsmum - what a clever little poppet - clapping WOW! So cute!
Saffi - amazing what a coat of paint can do hey? As for MIL wow - that is incredible. Glad you put her in her place.
issy - will try with apple - I found it a bit dry too! You always have yummy combos so keep posting.
Willow - good on you for joining the gym - I so need to but am completely unmotivated :shakehead:
:grouphug:
Rach xx
Just a quick one..
Happy 6 months my darling Eli. Life for me started all over again when you were born. We love you endlessly and you amaze us everyday, Love Mumma and Daddy xxx
Also yay for 6 months of BF still loving it and going strong!
Rach xx
Happy 6 months my darling Eli - what a beautiful little man you are. You and your little friend Lochie have brightened our lives with your happy little personalities.
xxxxx
Oh made me all teary issy, they are amazing. Lucky to have you and the boys are lucky to have eachother too  xxx
grrrrrr....baby sleeping like crap!!!!!!!! Soooooooo tired. Was up around 5 times last night...all between 12 and 6am. Have been too spoilt with this kid and his sleeping habits, havent felt sleep deprivation for about 7 years, and I can safely say IM OVER IT! Bloody teething....
Issy - We had a bad night last night too. I had to get up to DS 3 times, worst night we've had since moving him to his room. Hope tonight is better for us both!
Well I had my first gym session yesterday. It went well but I am sooooo unfit. Going again tomorrow night and again on Saturday morning. Hoping to go 3 times a week if I can manage it with the boys. They went to the creche yesterday morning. DS1 loved it but D was due for his morning nap and they didn't get him to sleep till just before I got back to pick them up (they tried to rock him to sleep which is something I've never had to do with him and apparently he thought it was hilarious and just kept laughing at them ) so he only had a catnap, then came home had a feed and some lunch and then slept for 2.5 hours - big mistake. I should have woken him earlier because then he refused his afternoon nap and I suspect that's why we had such a horrid night :wall:
I think I'll only go during the day once a week for now until the D isn't sleeping so much, it's too much of a disruption to the day.
Issy - I know how you feel, 4 or 5 times a night is standard here for us! Hang in there, it has to get better right?!
Rach - Happy 6 months to Eli for yesterday!
Willow - Oh no sorry to hear you had a bad night :( But glad to hear the gym went well! LOL at D and the rocking to sleep, that is funny.
Hi everyone else :hello:
AFU, well have already covered it elsewhere, but its been a cr@p week. E has been sick and vomiting, and has also been gagging and vomiting after her solids. I've given up on rice cereal cause I'm sure she hates it and tried avocado and sweet potato both of which she seems to like but as soon as she tries to swallow she gags and vomits it all back up plus milk. And I'm talking about only a tiny tiny amount on a spoon before she chucks too. So I don't really know whether to call it off for a couple of weeks or keep trying.......and also cause she was sick we have had to delay her needles until next week too, so off to try and have them again next Tuesday.
Issy & Willow we are the same sleepwise here! Fun of teething. Eli had his 6 month check up and imm today and is now sleeping hope it lasts for a while! So much cleaning to do!
Megsmum - poor little darling! I wonder why she is having so much trouble keeping her solids down? Sorry, I don't the answer but wanted to give yuo a big
Rach xx
Megs - After reading your posts I think I'd ease off the solids and try again in a few weeks? D is the same with gagging and he has vomited it up a few times but is getting much better so I'm persisting BUT he hasn't been sick. Maybe she just needs milk until her tummy settles again?
Hope we all get some sleep tonight ladies!! :crossfingers:
Willow - I tried again today a tiny little bit very gently and she vomited again, so I think I will lay off now. Maybe I'll try again next weekend I think - I know she's getting plenty of milk. You know how when you drink heaps of water and move sometimes you can hear it sloshing around in your tummy? Well I fed her then bounced her on my lap a little, just playing around, and I could hear all the milk sloshing around in her tum ROFL. Her dr rang me today to see how she was and didn't seem too worried about it, but I'll be seeing the nurse next Tues for her needles so might see what she makes of it all too.....
I'm so with you on the sleep!! :crossfingers:
Rach - Thanks
Hi to everyone.:)
sorry I have been out of the loop, have been keeping tabs on everyone and it's lovely to hear how everyone's bub is doing! I won't even attempt to do persies as i'm afraid that would take a long long time considering how long it's been since my last entry!!
Have been busy with DS1 starting school and working in DP's business from home!
DS1 not settling into school so well which has been quite stressful. He decides to bolt from the classroom as I drop him at the door and i spend about 20 minutes each morning chasing him, and pleading with him to go into class. I know he is enjoying school but he has an issue with the initial dropping off. I can't accept its seperation anxiety as he has been in long day care and kinder for 3 years without any dramas. Have begun a reward chart, so fingers crossed this may motivate him to improve this behaviour..only time will tell.
As for DS2, my darling Max, he has been such a contented bub that is just happy to go with the flow! He doesn't have much choice as he has to go out several times a day to drop and pick up DS1 from school, so he doesn't get much opportunity to develop a routine as such. He wakes between 6 - 7.30 of the morning, has 2 - 3 naps a day, and is in bed by 8pm at the latest. He is sleeping around 11 hours a night, YAY!!!!
He is eating pureed vegies for dinner, and has banana in one of those self feeder things around lunch time. I'm working backwards with meals, I started with dinner, now has a snack at lunch time and will introduce solids at brekky soon. I just don't seem to have the time to feed him in the morning with DS1 starting school at 8.30am!! Sooo early, I have to set my alarm for 6.30am and I am running around like a headless chook for an hour and a half, trying to get my slow moving DS1 ready. And I have another 13 more years of this?????I'm exhausted already. wish we lived walking distance to his school.....oh well....
Max is not crawling or sitting unaided, he's a bit of a blob.( cute one) He rolls around and slides around on his back though, wriggling around about a metre or so. I quite like the fact he will pretty much be where I left him...will never forget the day DS1 first started rolling. I had left him in the lounge room knowing he won't be going anywhere, only to find him gone when I returned. Panic overwhelmed me and i ran around the house looking for him. Eventually I found him wedged under the couch....aaah relief. Soon bought a new loungsuite though.....
Does anyone use a playpen for their bub?? Thinking about getting one. Never used one for DS1, but with DS1 small toys everywhere, thinking it may be wise.
Hello all!
Rach - meant to say happy 6 months to you and Eli the other day. So happy 6 months.
Issy - how's Lochie's sleeping going?
salboo - sounds like Max is doing really well. Hope DS1 settles into school soon.
Willow - you are so good to be getting to the gym. Hope you didn't overdo it.
Megs - poor E. Is she getting better? Probably a good idea to suspend the solids until she is healthier.
AFU - Going well with solids. Tried M on apple sauce during the week. First time she gagged and pulled all sorts of faces. The second time she didn't gag but made a face like she'd sucked a lemon or something. It was so cute. Had her weighed this week and she came in at a very healthy 8.4kg. This puts her at around the 80th percentile, but her head circum is at around the 80th as well so at least she is in proportion.
We are getting into a daysleep routine. She had a small sleep this morning and is down for another now. Hopefully she can get another sleep in today. She starts daycare in a couple of weeks and while I know they will make a routine for her I want to try to get her used to one beforehand.
Nothing much else happening. Hope you are all well.
Hi ladies,
Hope everyone is doing great!
Saffi - thanks for asking, Lochie is sleeping better, was only up once over night which was nice, Im praying he continues to get better again, I miss my sleep!!!!! Wow, M is doing great with her weight gain, she must love her food!
Salboo - Hi. Max sounds like a lovely healthy happy little boy...and i hope your other little gem settles into school soon...im sure he will, sometimes it takes a while, its a big thing for little people!
Willow - i wish i was commited to losing this weight...but im not! im back to pre baby weight, but would really like to get back to pre 'trying' for baby weight! I had to put on 7 kgs just to get preg. at the moment though, im having a love affair with a gorgeous, dark, creamy companion called Cadbury!
Megs - i wouldnt stress too much about the food, she'll eat when she's ready. :)
got to fly girls, mummy duties are a calling!!!!
issy
Hi everyone,
Sorry Probably TMI, but...
I really have to get Baz treated for worms, poor bub. He has had them since he was 3 mths, but was too young to be treated. I asked the dr about it when we got 6mth immunisations the other day, but it wasn't our normal dr and this one didn't speak very good english and he didn't seem to know the answer to my question, but looked it up in some book he had and then told me not until 2yrs old! I know that is wrong - the packaging itself says from 1yr up, and on the combantrim website it says from 6mths with drs approval. So I am going to have to book another appointment with our dr, just to confirm it is ok to treat him. It cann't be nice for him, and he always has diarhea and worms in his nappy when he does a poo.
Misty - :o I'm sorry but that would totally freak me out!! HOW do they think that is OK for the poor little fella??? You are doing so well to have coped with it for this long, I would be really distressed by it I think! I hope your Dr agrees to treat him.:
and he always has diarhea and worms in his nappy when he does a poo.
Salboo - I'm hearing you re the big kids starting school. It is sooo hectic and so hard to fit in all the sleeps we need to, especially because I have a 2yo that needs to have a nap as well. I swear between the school run and the boys sleeps I have no life!
Girls, trust me, my motivation for joining the gym is purely selfish. I need some time out for myself, something to do to keep me motivated and to have some goals to work towards. I am just in such a rut being at home all the time I just needed something iykwim? If I loose some weight along the way, then great! But that's not really my motivation. I am about 3kg lighter than I was when I fell prg with DS2 so I can't really complain too much. That's not to say that I don't need to loose a kg or 5!
Had a mummy meltdown tonight and screamed at my 2yo :( Not a proud moment but I was just sooooo frustrated because DS2 refused his last nap of the day which meant that it threw all my plans out to go to the gym tonight (still managed to get there, but not really for as long as I needed to) and between the kids and DH working I really only have very small windows of opportunity to go. It's all probably because I wasn't keeping an eye on the time today and I let him have two big sleeps during the day. I find that with school times I really need to try and keep him to a tight routine with his sleeps which is something I've never had to do before. But if he sleeps too much during the day he doesn't want to have a nap in the late afternoon which means he gets overtired and bedtime isn't much fun.
Still not much progress on the solids but I am persisting. I've found that if I let him take the spoon and put it to his mouth he will eat it...a 6mo that wants to feed himself?! LOL
misty - poor Baz! Hope your Dr can help.
Willow - do you think that D would be better with BLS? Don't know much about it tho.
Gotta love those mummy meltdowns! Very hard not to yell at L, DH,the dogs etc some days isn't it? Is there another Mum at the school that could help out with the school runs?
Not long now and you'll be in the 5000 club!
AFU - M said her first word yesterday "bubba". All yesterday she was babbling really clearly. DH noticed it first. I'm not convinced that she is actually speaking yet, but she's getting there.
Saffi - I don't really know any of the mums at school well enough. Maybe one day. I'm not comfortable with BLS until he's a bit older. I tried it with L and it was...I dunno, frustrating and I can't handle the gagging and choking!
WTG Immy! D is now saying 'mumma' very clearly and occasionally 'bubba'. 'Dadda' has taken a bit of a back burner, and rightly so I reckon! LOL
Am attempting a night out to the movies tonight to see Valentine's Day...I hope D co-operates!!
Have a good night Willow. I want to see that movie so let me know what you think.
Hey Saffi congrats on your RAK and Issy too! I can't wait to see your avvy's!!!!
Misty - poor little Baz - I would have been peeking aswell. Hope Dr sorted it out for you!
Saffi - DS said 'mumma' and says 'mum' too. Not on demand at all - so I think maybe a fluke!
Willow - hope you have a better day
:grouphug:
Rach xx
Helllooooooo everyone!
We're BACK! I'll have to go back and read over your posts to see what's been happening but a quick update on us:
Orla had a ball in NZ meeting her rellies and we had a complete 'baby-fest' in Wellington where all my friends have sprouted at least one bubba since I was last there. She finally got used to travelling in the car and CAN fall asleep (if I sit in back with her and stroke her hair - a huge improvement on the screaming we used to get). Must get a proper carseat now that we're back cos she hates that old capsule :(
We're moving house in a months time - we got the lease break place we looked at just before we left - hooray! It's actually a better house (ducted heating throughout and aircon in the bedroom!) but much smaller so we've got some serious culling to do here in the next few weeks. Who was it here that moved recently? Any tips for moving with a baby?
As for Orla herself she's sitting well and doing a wobbly sort of backwards crawly thing. No teeth as yet but they are certainly giving her some grief (must get onto those amber necklaces). Experimented with some foods while we were away so i'm keen to get regular solids into her day now that we're back.
Hope everyone is doing well - will write some persies when I get a chance to reading all the latest :)
Saffi - E says "Em" and "Mum" now and again too, just started late last week.
Misty - Hope you can get someone to help you with Baz's worms, that must be awful :(
Issy - Yep, I'm not really too worried about the solids thing, she'll eat them eventually I guess!
Koru - Great to see you back! And fantastic news about the house, you must be very relieved. Sorry no tips for moving from me, just the thought of it would freak me out.
Hi everyone else!
AFU, little E is still sick :( Got better after her temp, but now has bronchiolitis poor little thing. She's got an awful wheeze and a bark on her when she coughs, so looks like the needles will be waiting another week. I just had her at the drs this morning and there is nothing they can do to help, just take her to hospy if the breathing gets worse. So we had absolutely no sleep over the weekend, and to top it off I'm sick now too  although thankfully not as bad as E.
Koru - Good luck with moving house. I always think it would be so much easier if you could just leave everything behind and start from scratch - and then reality kicks in and you realise you cann't afford to buy new funiture and possessions for an entire house... ahh to be a billionaire where you could pay someone else to do everything for you, or just buy new things because you are too lazy to pack everythin... But that might just be me ;) I still have boxes that haven't been unpacked in the garage - we moved about 18mths ago now
Megsmum - I hope E is feeling better.
Everyone else - Hello. :)
Baz has been a bit sooky today and yesterday (very unusual) - I wasn't sure whether maybe he was getting sick or something. Well I met up with a friend today and she noticed he's unusual behaviour and then she pointed out that he is getting some more teeth in - I hadn't even noticed. He's behaviour suddenly makes sense now, particularly the nipple biting...
koru - welcome back. I'd wondered where you had go to. Glad Orla had a good time meeting the rellies. Has your visit made you more motivated to go back?
Fortunately we moved just before M arrived. But we had a toddler so kinda counts. The weekend before the move we sent him off to the ILs for the weekend and on the day he went to daycare so we could get into it without having little hands unpacking what we'd just packed. So if you can try to have someone look after her, tho as you're BF that might not be possible. A good friend of mine is moving house soon. Actually she will be in hospital delivering twins while her DH oversees the move. She will go home to a new house. Even so I don't envy her.
misty - teething's the worst! Hope Baz doesn't suffer for too long.
You don't need to be a billionaire to get a new house with all new possessions! You see those rental properties on TV where the tenants have trashed the place and left all their stuff behind. It always amazes me that people can just leave all their clothes etc behind. How can they afford to get all new stuff all the time?? I've still got boxes to unpack from when we moved into our old home 9 years ago!
Noticed your ticker! Almost half way - you're doing so well!!!!
Megs - hope E gets better soon. M has had bronchiolitis too. Its so frustrating listening to them wheeze and cough and there's nothing you can give them to help.
Rach - thanks! I've just sent in the request so you'll see soon enough!
All good here.
Hi girls,
Koru - Welcome back! and goodluck with the move! We moved on Jan 4th this year, with 2 kiddies. I had my sisters look after bubs and DS1 all day, as I had to stay at the house and unpack. I found it easier to get someone to watch them all day, so that I could really get cracking on unpacking things as they came in, that way, by the time night came, we were all unpacked and the kids could go straight to bed. I am breastfeeding too, but bubs had EBM and one formula bottle to get through the day. You definately need someone to help out I think, and get as much done as possible when you dont have the kids. And biggest tip is....BE ORGANISED and pack something everyday, so that by the time moving day comes along, its just a matter of loading it up and unpacking!
Misty - I hope poor Baz isnt too uncomfortable...poor bubba. Teeth cause so much grief dont they?
Megsmum - hope E gets better soon...sounds awful!
Saffi - looking forward to seeing your avy!
bbl...cleaning duties are calling my name!
