Megs - After reading your posts I think I'd ease off the solids and try again in a few weeks? D is the same with gagging and he has vomited it up a few times but is getting much better so I'm persisting BUT he hasn't been sick. Maybe she just needs milk until her tummy settles again?

Willow - I tried again today a tiny little bit very gently and she vomited again, so I think I will lay off now. Maybe I'll try again next weekend I think - I know she's getting plenty of milk. You know how when you drink heaps of water and move sometimes you can hear it sloshing around in your tummy? Well I fed her then bounced her on my lap a little, just playing around, and I could hear all the milk sloshing around in her tum ROFL. Her dr rang me today to see how she was and didn't seem too worried about it, but I'll be seeing the nurse next Tues for her needles so might see what she makes of it all too.....

sorry I have been out of the loop, have been keeping tabs on everyone and it's lovely to hear how everyone's bub is doing! I won't even attempt to do persies as i'm afraid that would take a long long time considering how long it's been since my last entry!!
Have been busy with DS1 starting school and working in DP's business from home!
DS1 not settling into school so well which has been quite stressful. He decides to bolt from the classroom as I drop him at the door and i spend about 20 minutes each morning chasing him, and pleading with him to go into class. I know he is enjoying school but he has an issue with the initial dropping off. I can't accept its seperation anxiety as he has been in long day care and kinder for 3 years without any dramas. Have begun a reward chart, so fingers crossed this may motivate him to improve this behaviour..only time will tell.
As for DS2, my darling Max, he has been such a contented bub that is just happy to go with the flow! He doesn't have much choice as he has to go out several times a day to drop and pick up DS1 from school, so he doesn't get much opportunity to develop a routine as such. He wakes between 6 - 7.30 of the morning, has 2 - 3 naps a day, and is in bed by 8pm at the latest. He is sleeping around 11 hours a night, YAY!!!!
He is eating pureed vegies for dinner, and has banana in one of those self feeder things around lunch time. I'm working backwards with meals, I started with dinner, now has a snack at lunch time and will introduce solids at brekky soon. I just don't seem to have the time to feed him in the morning with DS1 starting school at 8.30am!! Sooo early, I have to set my alarm for 6.30am and I am running around like a headless chook for an hour and a half, trying to get my slow moving DS1 ready. And I have another 13 more years of this?????I'm exhausted already. wish we lived walking distance to his school.....oh well....
Max is not crawling or sitting unaided, he's a bit of a blob.( cute one) He rolls around and slides around on his back though, wriggling around about a metre or so. I quite like the fact he will pretty much be where I left him...will never forget the day DS1 first started rolling. I had left him in the lounge room knowing he won't be going anywhere, only to find him gone when I returned. Panic overwhelmed me and i ran around the house looking for him. Eventually I found him wedged under the couch....aaah relief. Soon bought a new loungsuite though.....
Does anyone use a playpen for their bub?? Thinking about getting one. Never used one for DS1, but with DS1 small toys everywhere, thinking it may be wise.

Willow - you are so good to be getting to the gym. Hope you didn't overdo it.
Megs - poor E. Is she getting better? Probably a good idea to suspend the solids until she is healthier.
AFU - Going well with solids. Tried M on apple sauce during the week. First time she gagged and pulled all sorts of faces. The second time she didn't gag but made a face like she'd sucked a lemon or something. It was so cute. Had her weighed this week and she came in at a very healthy 8.4kg. This puts her at around the 80th percentile, but her head circum is at around the 80th as well so at least she is in proportion.
We are getting into a daysleep routine. She had a small sleep this morning and is down for another now. Hopefully she can get another sleep in today. She starts daycare in a couple of weeks and while I know they will make a routine for her I want to try to get her used to one beforehand.

Saffi - thanks for asking, Lochie is sleeping better, was only up once over night which was nice, Im praying he continues to get better again, I miss my sleep!!!!! Wow, M is doing great with her weight gain, she must love her food!
Salboo - Hi. Max sounds like a lovely healthy happy little boy...and i hope your other little gem settles into school soon...im sure he will, sometimes it takes a while, its a big thing for little people!
Willow - i wish i was commited to losing this weight...but im not! im back to pre baby weight, but would really like to get back to pre 'trying' for baby weight! I had to put on 7 kgs just to get preg. at the moment though, im having a love affair with a gorgeous, dark, creamy companion called Cadbury!
Megs - i wouldnt stress too much about the food, she'll eat when she's ready. :)

Sorry Probably TMI, but...
I really have to get Baz treated for worms, poor bub. He has had them since he was 3 mths, but was too young to be treated. I asked the dr about it when we got 6mth immunisations the other day, but it wasn't our normal dr and this one didn't speak very good english and he didn't seem to know the answer to my question, but looked it up in some book he had and then told me not until 2yrs old! :eek: I know that is wrong - the packaging itself says from 1yr up, and on the combantrim website it says from 6mths with drs approval. So I am going to have to book another appointment with our dr, just to confirm it is ok to treat him. It cann't be nice for him, and he always has diarhea and worms in his nappy when he does a poo.
Misty - :o I'm sorry but that would totally freak me out!! HOW do they think that is OK for the poor little fella??? You are doing so well to have coped with it for this long, I would be really distressed by it I think! I hope your Dr agrees to treat him.:

Salboo - I'm hearing you re the big kids starting school. It is sooo hectic and so hard to fit in all the sleeps we need to, especially because I have a 2yo that needs to have a nap as well. I swear between the school run and the boys sleeps I have no life!
Girls, trust me, my motivation for joining the gym is purely selfish. I need some time out for myself, something to do to keep me motivated and to have some goals to work towards. I am just in such a rut being at home all the time I just needed something iykwim? If I loose some weight along the way, then great! But that's not really my motivation. I am about 3kg lighter than I was when I fell prg with DS2 so I can't really complain too much. That's not to say that I don't need to loose a kg or 5! :lol:
Had a mummy meltdown tonight and screamed at my 2yo :( Not a proud moment but I was just sooooo frustrated because DS2 refused his last nap of the day which meant that it threw all my plans out to go to the gym tonight (still managed to get there, but not really for as long as I needed to) and between the kids and DH working I really only have very small windows of opportunity to go. It's all probably because I wasn't keeping an eye on the time today and I let him have two big sleeps during the day. I find that with school times I really need to try and keep him to a tight routine with his sleeps which is something I've never had to do before. But if he sleeps too much during the day he doesn't want to have a nap in the late afternoon which means he gets overtired and bedtime isn't much fun.
Still not much progress on the solids but I am persisting. I've found that if I let him take the spoon and put it to his mouth he will eat it...a 6mo that wants to feed himself?! LOL
misty - poor Baz! Hope your Dr can help.
Willow - do you think that D would be better with BLS? Don't know much about it tho.
Gotta love those mummy meltdowns! Very hard not to yell at L, DH,the dogs etc some days isn't it? Is there another Mum at the school that could help out with the school runs?

AFU - M said her first word yesterday "bubba". All yesterday she was babbling really clearly. DH noticed it first. I'm not convinced that she is actually speaking yet, but she's getting there.
Saffi - I don't really know any of the mums at school well enough. Maybe one day. I'm not comfortable with BLS until he's a bit older. I tried it with L and it was...I dunno, frustrating and I can't handle the gagging and choking!
WTG Immy! D is now saying 'mumma' very clearly and occasionally 'bubba'. 'Dadda' has taken a bit of a back burner, and rightly so I reckon! LOL
Am attempting a night out to the movies tonight to see Valentine's Day...I hope D co-operates!!

Helllooooooo everyone!
We're BACK! I'll have to go back and read over your posts to see what's been happening but a quick update on us:
Orla had a ball in NZ meeting her rellies and we had a complete 'baby-fest' in Wellington where all my friends have sprouted at least one bubba since I was last there. She finally got used to travelling in the car and CAN fall asleep (if I sit in back with her and stroke her hair - a huge improvement on the screaming we used to get). Must get a proper carseat now that we're back cos she hates that old capsule :(
We're moving house in a months time - we got the lease break place we looked at just before we left - hooray! It's actually a better house (ducted heating throughout and aircon in the bedroom!) but much smaller so we've got some serious culling to do here in the next few weeks. Who was it here that moved recently? Any tips for moving with a baby?
As for Orla herself she's sitting well and doing a wobbly sort of backwards crawly thing. No teeth as yet but they are certainly giving her some grief (must get onto those amber necklaces). Experimented with some foods while we were away so i'm keen to get regular solids into her day now that we're back.
Hope everyone is doing well - will write some persies when I get a chance to reading all the latest :)

AFU, little E is still sick :( Got better after her temp, but now has bronchiolitis poor little thing. She's got an awful wheeze and a bark on her when she coughs, so looks like the needles will be waiting another week. I just had her at the drs this morning and there is nothing they can do to help, just take her to hospy if the breathing gets worse. So we had absolutely no sleep over the weekend, and to top it off I'm sick now too :rolleyes: although thankfully not as bad as E.
Koru - Good luck with moving house. I always think it would be so much easier if you could just leave everything behind and start from scratch - and then reality kicks in and you realise you cann't afford to buy new funiture and possessions for an entire house... ahh to be a billionaire where you could pay someone else to do everything for you, or just buy new things because you are too lazy to pack everythin... But that might just be me ;) I still have boxes that haven't been unpacked in the garage - we moved about 18mths ago now :eek:

Baz has been a bit sooky today and yesterday (very unusual) - I wasn't sure whether maybe he was getting sick or something. Well I met up with a friend today and she noticed he's unusual behaviour and then she pointed out that he is getting some more teeth in - I hadn't even noticed. He's behaviour suddenly makes sense now, particularly the nipple biting...
koru - welcome back. I'd wondered where you had go to. Glad Orla had a good time meeting the rellies. Has your visit made you more motivated to go back?
Fortunately we moved just before M arrived. But we had a toddler so kinda counts. The weekend before the move we sent him off to the ILs for the weekend and on the day he went to daycare so we could get into it without having little hands unpacking what we'd just packed. So if you can try to have someone look after her, tho as you're BF that might not be possible. A good friend of mine is moving house soon. Actually she will be in hospital delivering twins while her DH oversees the move. She will go home to a new house. Even so I don't envy her.
misty - teething's the worst! Hope Baz doesn't suffer for too long.
You don't need to be a billionaire to get a new house with all new possessions! You see those rental properties on TV where the tenants have trashed the place and left all their stuff behind. It always amazes me that people can just leave all their clothes etc behind. How can they afford to get all new stuff all the time?? I've still got boxes to unpack from when we moved into our old home 9 years ago!

Koru - Welcome back! and goodluck with the move! We moved on Jan 4th this year, with 2 kiddies. I had my sisters look after bubs and DS1 all day, as I had to stay at the house and unpack. I found it easier to get someone to watch them all day, so that I could really get cracking on unpacking things as they came in, that way, by the time night came, we were all unpacked and the kids could go straight to bed. I am breastfeeding too, but bubs had EBM and one formula bottle to get through the day. You definately need someone to help out I think, and get as much done as possible when you dont have the kids. And biggest tip is....BE ORGANISED and pack something everyday, so that by the time moving day comes along, its just a matter of loading it up and unpacking!
Misty - I hope poor Baz isnt too uncomfortable...poor bubba. Teeth cause so much grief dont they?
Megsmum - hope E gets better soon...sounds awful!
