Ellee - could it be reflux? Cass_blob posted in here about it and some symptoms a few days ago. Also there is a whole area here that has posts about reflux. Obviously need to get it checked out by a Dr but it is a possibility.
Hey all... Going to quickly type while i have five mins of silence!
Eloise has been awake, screaming, unsettled since 630 this morning... It's been horrible And poor DD1 has been doing alot of screaming, winging too... I think she's abuit jealous. DD1 keeps telling me to put Eloise down and come play I feel so bad for DD1. Although have been able to read DD1 alot of books while rocking Eloise in my arms...
Tk - I'm studying my B. of Nursing :-) have 2 years left (part time)
Yay for DD weight gain thats great
Ellee - Zahli and Eloise share the same birthday Have you tried some Wind remedies like Gripe water, infants friends, infacol? Also is she doing green poos (that is signs of wind) otherwise it could be something else like colic or reflux... (sounds a lot like Eloise - and shes a silent refluxer)
Saffi - Glad i'm not the only one almost in tears at the end of the day before DF comes home. Hugs hun.
Cheezel - Yay for peters weight gain! yay for the good sleeping, can he come and show eloise hoe to sleep hehe!
Hello to everyone else Hope you and your gorgeous babies are doing well
Miss Eloise has just filled her pants... But is quiet and asleep but going to have to disturb her...
Hello everyone, I have been reading but not replying - sorry, I don't even have an excuse (although I did try to think of one before I responded, so I guess I have no imagination either ).
My chubba bubba is (finally) sleeping atm, he is so tired I even managed to get him down in his snuggle bed, so my poor sore shoulders are having a break from holding him. My two little monsters are sitting quietly watching playschool and eating choclate mud cake - you can tell I am instilling some really good behaviours ino my children.
It is strange I see to be alternating between days when I think - OMG Why did I even have the three kids I did have! and trying to decide when I will have the next! I only just had bubs not quite 5 weeks ago and I am already thinking about having another! how crazy is that!
Damn Baz is waking up, lets hope he is just stirring and will goback to sleep.
Hope everyone is well. Sorry No personals atm - I am much to lazy
Hi all! We are a bit slow to join this thread....but thought id jump on to say hi!
I'm a first time mum to a beautiful baby girl, Chloe Jacinta, who was born (in a big hurry...nearly didn't make it to the hospital!) on 1st August, weighing 7lb 3oz.
My life is now amazingly hectic and im seriously sleep deprived, but im loving it!
It is great to read all your posts...and to see that im not the only one up at all hours of the night (and day!) with a crying baby! Although i would class Chloe as a generally placid baby, we think she has colic and has been screaming all day
hopefully she will wear herself out and get a good sleep 2nite
Hoping that you and your gorgeous little ones are all doing well, and looking forward to reading more posts!
Larne - Welcome to the thread It's reassuring to know you're not the only one going through "issues" hey. We think that DD has a bit of colic too - not nice.
Misty - You're a brave, admirable even, woman considering another baby so soon!
Cass Blob - How cool that our little cherubs share their birthday. We have tried both gripe water and infants friend a few times each. It does make a difference most times but I'm concerned if they get immune and it no longer works. I've read that this happens but not sure if it's true.
Saffi - thanks for the silent refluxer tip (that Cass Blob posted).
AFU - Miss Z seems to be getting worse with the reflux and colic symptoms. Can't wait to see the Pead next week. It is hard to know what is acceptable and when it becomes classed as an issue. Last night she gagged a lot and was sick quite a few times while sleeping. She cries and cries in her sleep and is getting harder to settle. She farts well once she can. She's had a couple of green poo's in the past but nothing that colour of late. Poor girl had diarroeah this morning but it was only one nappy (as I was changing her lol). Today I could hardly put her down because of her pains. But as you've probably seen in other post I ordered a swing so hopefully it will help her being upright.
Ellee - I know exactly what its like having bubs with colic and reflux. My DD1 had them both and so does DD2. I wonder if its the breastmilk because DS was formula fed and we never had any issues. Not that I will stop breastfeeding, Im still going to persist. Do you find that DD's pains get really bad after feeds? My DD also does that gagging thing, its a bit scary. Im really interested to hear how you go at the paed coz my DD's symptoms sound just like your DD's.
Misty - Im also the same in wondering why I had three then also wondering when I could have the next one, but then I remember DH just got the snip. So I get a little disappointed, but I guess we could always get it reversed or adopt if we really really want another. DH definitely doesnt want any more though so I think it will just be the three for us.
Anyway Emily has lots of green poos, some are very runny, some are slimy almost, then she may have a normal gritty mustardy peanut pasty type of poo, but they are always a bit green in colour. Some poos are quite dark green too. After every feed it seems like she chucks most of it back up, bit she is still gaining weight so apparently its ok. I bought some Infants friend 2 days ago so have started using that, Im not sure if its really working yet. She doesnt like it thats for sure. Im starting to get the knack of getting it into her though just a little bit at a time but sometimes she will just spit it all out and make a mess. She does seems to be farting a lot more now LOL. But she is still a sooky baby and needs to be held all the time, and she is fussy about the way she is held too. If I try to put her down in her basinette she will wake almost immediately and become wide awake. Its very frustrating. The reflux doesnt seem to worry her too much so at this stage Im just concentrating on things to help the colic coz that is causing her a bit of pain. She seems to be pooing more now too which is annoying, but I guess as long as she is more comfortable. Im going to give it a couple more days with the infants friend and then stop and see if it makes any difference.
Anyway, Emily has been on the floor all this time on her playmat and she is getting upset now so I gotta go.
Eloise has got really bad lately with her reflux, the meds just don't seem to be working. I feel like we have gone backwards. She's still sleeping at night time, but during the day she just screams most of it, won't settle unless heldand even then most of the time we have to be standing up rocking.
She is spewing up alot more, I have had many many spews down the shirt :O and she screams sooo much after a feed and when she spews... Awwww my poor little princess, I wish i could take the pain away
I have an appointment with a pead Doctor on friday just to get a 2nd opinion and make sure there is nothing else wrong. We are also in the process of buying her a swing, as she loves her cousins one and will settle happily into it.
I'm really feeling for my DD1 as she's missing out alot of my time as Eloise is taking alot of it. And Handing Eloise to DF doesn't help as she gets really unsettled and screams louder until shes back with me (hmm seperation issues there)
Megan - Sounds like the infants friend is doing it's job. Let us kno how she goes.
Elle - I've heard that too... let us know how the pead goes, hope he/she gives you answers and some hints/tips you might be able to share :P
Larne - Welcome hun, hope everything is well, look forward to hearing from you more
Misty - I've had that thought too! Right when Eloise lost her newborn smell ( i love that smell) Made me think OMG this can't be the last time I smell that. But then i thought no we have four, i've said no more, but want to change my mind already, i want DF to get the snip but then again i don't want to make it sooo hmmm, final...
