MeganH - That is great forward thinking on the sposies and buying them in larger sizes! DD is still in newborn sposies but we tried her in the infant size today - they do fit but they are so huge on her! The newborn sizes fit much better but I know it won't be long until she fits the infants size! That is so good on the laughs!! DD also likes her play gym toy arch thingy
Misty - hope the sickness leaves you all soon. for rolling!!
Megsmum - thank you, I am not anything special - I am just doing what needs to be done for my sister during this time. I am hoping to get some IB Boos - only have the d'lish at the moment.
Koru - DD also gets annoyed when she pulls off and gets squirted with BM in the face. I often keep a towel or terry cloth nappy next to me so I can quickly catch the spray!
Saffi - DD tends to talk more when we are changing nappy. Hope you were able to get a nap in!
Ellee05 - glad to see you back. Urgh to the in-laws... I often have to go through the same thing.
AFU - as I said we have tried DD in the infant sized sposies and they look so huge on her... the newborn size is a much better fit. That is one thing I like about the cloth - they are larger sizes but seem to fit better. I don't know of many almost 3 months olds that are still in newborn size sposies LOL.
We are heading back to Sydney tomorrow after spending time with my sister and looking after my niece. I got a glimpse into life with two and it wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. I took my niece and my DD down to the shops by myself - I was surprised at how easy it was. I got DD out first and put her into the sling and then got niece out and she walked until we got to the trolleys and then she hoped in there... I am sure it wouldn't always be easy but I was imaging all sorts of horrible moments but none eventuated!

Oh dear DD has worms - In her vagina of all places!!! she has been waking up at night, tonight she was srying because her 'front bum' (aka vagina) hurt. Well I took a look, it was all red and inflamed and you could see little pin worms moving near the entrance - YUK.
So first thing tomorrow (on my DS1 birthday no less) we are all taking a trip to the dr. From reading online babies can only have worm medicine if they are over 6mths, so I am not sure what the go there will be. Baz is most likely to been contaiminated if DD is, she is always sticking her fingers in his mouth for him to suck on, despite getting in trouble for it.
Oh no Misty what a bummer Is there any way of checking whether the baby has the worms? He may not need any treatment...fingers crossed!
Thanks Megsmum for the MCN advice - will look into some bamboos for overnight. At the moment we are using some ugly old fitted terries from Scotland that a friend passed on - they sure ain't pretty but by god they're absorbent!!! Once Orla outgrows them I'll get her into the boo's
Well my annual climate-change depression has set in about 2 months early this year Melbourne is sweltering and it's only november. House bound by heat and no relief overnight cos the mercury barely dips, new veggie seedlings wilting despite being lovingly doused in saved bath water, won't be long before the sky is hazy with smoke again....
Every year I just about manage to convince DP to move back to NZ (despite his protestations that it's 'too cold!' ) then winter returns and we forget about it for another year. Now with a little one to worry about my anxiety has gone up a couple of notches.... At least we'll escape most of february's inferno when we go over to visit my family.....
Wow, its been quiet in here. The bubbies are keeping us very busy.
Can't believe my little girl is already 3 months old. Where did those last three months go? She has grown so much and we are starting to see her personality coming through.
We are going pretty well. I am taking Motilum to hopefully increase my supply. So far it seems to be working but only been on it for a few days.
Still not doing really well with her day sleeps. She is dozing in her rocker at the moment tho. Mornings seem to be her main sleep time. At night she goes to sleep the same time we do and sleeps for around 6 -7 hours which is pretty good. Its really weird how as soon as the lights go out she feels asleep in a matter of minutes. I know I need to get her into a daysleep routine but am a bit scared to do it as I know she will be really upset.
We are now putting her in the Bumbo. It is so convenient to put her in it wherever I am in the house and it is a bit easier on my back too.
Misty - how is DD going? I know that it is recommended that if one family member has them then everyone should be treated.
Hiya Saffi - Your DD sounds like she has a very similar sleep pattern to mine. I was stressing about Orla's day sleeps as well but have come to the conclusion that as long as she gets enough sleep overall and sleeps well at night (which she does) that we'll just go with that
We are picking up a Bumbo we won off eBay today - hope she likes it!

How is everyone going. It has been quiet in here, although I imagine as Christmas approaches we'll become even busier. Any one else super excitied? I'm excited about DD first christmas even though she'll be none the wiser hehee. On the downside to that DH has to work christmas eve and christmas night, night shift so he will sleep all day anyway. We have friends that are staying in town so we're having orphan christmas... The joys of small remote communities.
TK - How is your sister holding up? Sometimes I too think about having a second child and it freaks me out but I know that plenty do it so I'm sure we'd cope fine Is your DD in infant nappies yet? about a week before DD turned 3 months we changed over so not too far in front lol.
Misty - you poor thing. How did DD worms go? Did you treat Baz? Hope things have improved for you.
Koru - I hear you on the climate depression. It's normally 38-39 degrees lately but was 42 the other day and will get to about 48! I've been begging DH to think about moving soon as jobs come up in Hunter Valley where we'd like to go next. Good on you for using MCN. I'd like to get some but DH isn't keen so not much point me getting any yet.
Saffi - aren't their little developing personalities just too cute. Such an amazing experience. Hope your supply increases for you soon. Have you tried the lactation cookies also?
AFU - DD got weighed on Tuesday. 5.1kg at 14weeks 1 day. She's doubled her weight and grown 11.5cm to 59.5cm since birth. We are seeing a visiting paed next week regarding her plagiocephaly and also the nurse said she is concerned about DD gross motor skills as she isn't pushing herself up with her arms and sometimes doesn't lift her head when you pull up with her arms. It's weird because everone tells us she has such strong neck muscles. She is our first so we don't really have much to compare to. Cradle cap is still hanging around so we're going to ask about that also. I've got the flu at the moment and DD has now got it too. She still doesn't like day sleeps but last night she slept for 11hrs!!!! then fed and coslept for another almost 4 hrs fed and slept for half hour then was up for an hour and is asleep again. Poor girl
Anyway this post is a bit me me me - sorry. Hope you're all enjoying life and getting lots of happy smiles from your babies and look forward to hearing from you all soon.

Ellee - I'm amazed the nurse is worried about your DD motor skills at this age, she doesn't sound unusual to me, but I'm no expert . Re: cradle cap, there was a thread about it recently and I suggested trying bicarb soda. When DS1 was a bub, my MCHN told me to pour some bicarb into my hand, add a little bit of water to make it into a paste and then slather it over DS's cradle cap. I did this during his bathtime and rinsed it out at the end of bathtime. The cradle cap cleared up after a few days. It worked even quicker with DS2. A few of the girls who responded to the thread tried it and it worked for them too
Koru - I've given up stressing about DD's day naps too! We just go with the flow now and I fell MUCH more relaxed. Funnily enough, when I stopped stressing she started sleeping better LOL!
Saffi - I look forward to Alana being big enough to go into her Bumbo! Immi sounds like she's doing great overnight!
Misty - I hope the worms have cleared up, not nice!

megsmum - Wow, you sure know your MCN's! We've never used them and I guess there's no point now that I've had my last bub. I don't know if I could handle the extra washing either!

Hi to anyone I've missed!
Alana has just gotten over a nasty cough and cold (we all had it). Her night sleep went out the window for a couple of weeks, but luckily we're back on track again. A big problem was that she was getting out of her wrap overnight and it would wake her right up. My SIL lent me a Kiddopottamus SwaddleMe a couple of days ago and it has done the trick, she can't get out of it!
She's such a happy little bub, always smiling and chatting. She is so laid back, I hope she stays this way! She still hasn't had her 2 month immunisations yet because she's been sick, I'll have to do it ASAP now she's almost all better. At her 2 month MCHN visit she was 5.35kg and 60cm long. She's in the 90th percentile for height, weight and head circumference, such a big girl!
Misty - hope DD is better. How did you go with treating DS?
Koru - hope you are surviving the heatwave
Saffi - I know what you mean - the three months have flown! Glad to hear your supply is picking up on the meds.
Ellee - Yep as christmas fast aproaches everything does get super busy. I am also excited about DDs first christmas. Wow those are some very hot temps for you and bubs. Hope all goes well at the paed.

Thank you all for your kind words re my sister. She is as well as can be expected. She has a check up next week so our other sister, DD and I will be going up on Tuesday afternoon to be with her and support her if needed and we are heading back Wednesday evening or so. Trish - thank you... I am nothing special just doing what big sisters do. DD started swimming lessons today she loved it - had one or two cries but a quick cuddle from mum is all she needed. I was a bit concerned that she would hate it but she didn't mind being dunked and did such a good job of moving her legs around. She has been asleep pretty much since we got home so I think she really tuckered herself out. At last weigh in she was just under 5.5kg and whilst the infant nappies do fit her they are HUGE and she can still easily wear the newborn size but I don't see the point in buying another box when she would outgrow them before I could use them. We haven't had as many days in cloth - I need to make some stay dry liners from microfleece - hopefully that will help the cloth nappy last longer than 20mins
Great to have some people to chat with. It sounds like everyone's babies are doing really well, putting on heaps of weight and generally treating their mummies nicely.
koru - I know you will love the Bumbo. Ellee - I saw on the net that there is a glove and brush set that helps massage cradle cap.The bicarb sounds effective tho. tk- swimming lessons already?? Might be a nice way to cool down this summer. DS is 2 and still hasn't been to a lesson. Trish - poor A! We also delayed Immi's vax.
What is everyone giving their babies for Xmas? I am really stuck for ideas as because Immi is our second we have a lot of baby equipment and toys already. I am really loathed to buy more toys but feel that we need to give her something. I was going to suggest to the grandparents that they give us cash to put towards a new car seat for DS. Don't know how that will go down.
Saffi - yep I didn't start swimming lessons until I was in school and I never quite got the hang of swimming... I go in the water for fun and I am fairly sure if I had to swim to save my life I could manage (just) and I knew I didn't want that for DD so we searched around and found a place that will start as early as 3 months... most places it is 6 months - and I would be lying if I didn't say that part of me was thinking it would be a great way to cool off during summer he he he he he he. The hardest part of the whole process was finding a rash shirt that would fit her (found one in 000 but it is a bit big but not too big) and the swim nappies say from 7kg which she isn't yet but they do fit her (thankfully)
