Hiya all,
Thanks Megsmum - I've read the expressing advice here on BB and read the chapter in the ABA book so I'm ready to give it a crack :) We bought sippy cup with a squishy mouthpiece in case DD doesn't take to the bottle. I've got a Medula manual pump - any trouble with that one Megan or was it just the electric one?
Wow Willow - a tooth already - that's amazing! What is the amber supposed to do? Is it an 'energetic medicine' thing?
Orla is trying to roll now too - gets 3/4the way round then all frustrated cos she's stuck there !
Hi to everyone else.....
-
Kora - Just the Medela Mini Electric :)
Oh and for anyone else looking at breastpumps, Ive heard the Medela Swing is good and heard the Nuk is not good. Avent ones are all pretty good.
-
Hey everyone!
Cheezel - yup, squealing here too. I firstly thought she was in pain, but she's been doing it all the time. Kind of cute.
Ellee/koru - I used the Avent Isis electric pump last time. It was pretty good tho for the amount that I was using it I would have been better to hire a heavy duty one from the chemist.
Willow - I think I'm feeling a tooth too. Haven't been game to look into her mouth yet. L started teething at around 4 months so we are getting pretty close to that now. I remember those awful nappies
Hello to Issy, Trish, misty, megs, Megan, tk, and everyone else
Its been so hot here too tho not in the 40s TG. Its so uncomfortable to feed her when I'm hot and sweaty and she is too.
-
Hello everyone,
I have been slack just reading but not posting, sorry.
Well I have the nuk mini electric, and it is great. I had a nuk manual with DD which I loved, but the plastic yellowed and broke and when I went to replace it they had changed the design and upped the price, so I bought the electric instead.
DH has just dissappeared on me until late thursday night for work. sigh. At least he cleaned the house before he left and my kids are currently behaving. But I am looking forward to him coming home, and dreading bedtime when DS1 realises tht daddy isn't coming home tonight (daddy does the bedtime stuff normally).
Baz is so amazing. He is rolling everywhere, trying to get up on his hands and knees, but his fat belly is too heavy for him to lift. My other kids never used to like laying on the floor at this age (or any age really), but Baz thinks it is fantastic.
DS1 is over he's ear infection, thank god. Was diagnosed with anemia, but has greatly improved his iron count and increased his weight by almost two kgs, after we switched from cows milk to toddler formula (which he has now developed a taste for after a rocky start) and he is no longer throwing up (he was nearly every night). :) so everything is going well with him now.
We put up our chrissy tree decorations yesterday. All the candy canes are at the very top of the tree - to stop DS from stealing them and now i am thinking I might have to move all the other decorations up as well - because the kitten has now discovered them.
-
misty - thats great that DS1 is getting better.
-
Cheezel - LOL at the squealing, my DD1 is still a bit of a squealer!
Ellee - Hope you survived the heat, it was really hot again this weekend just gone but is lovely and cool again today. Wonder how long it will last - not long I'll bet! I don't have a breast pump this time around, but I think the Medela Swing looks good and have heard its OK too. Medela are usually pretty good, I used one of their double pumps in hospy with DD1. If you are going to be using it on a regular basis definitely go an electric, I'd even get a double if you can afford it.
Willow - Wow a tooth! I must admit I wouldn't mind one of the amber teething necklaces either :)
koru - Hope the advice helped a little :) Yay for more rolling, sounds like everyone's bubs are rolling now.
Saffi - Its so uncomfortable feeding them when its hot isn't it? I'm feeling the same with all this hot weather we've been having. I had to feed her the other day while DD1 was swimming, it was just mega hot and humid at the indoor pool where she swims - we were both covered in sweat when she finished yuck!
misty - Sorry to hear DH is away again, hope he's back soon. Glad to hear DS1 is better too.
AFU, lovely and cool here today ahhhhhh LOL E rolled from front to back on the weekend too while DH was out boozing at a beer tasting  but at least she was good enough to do it again for him when he got home. But she is going well, feeling like she is getting quite heavy again - my back muscles are aching - so might be time for a weigh again soon I think :) And I started Xmas shopping on the weekend too - yay for me! Must be the earliest I have started it for about 10 years I reckon LOL
-
Hi everyone! It's been a while since I was last in here and I can't keep up! Wow at all these rolling bubs! Alana is very close to rolling, when she's on her back she rolls onto her side and is very close to making it all the way over.
Has anyone noticed that the latest pg announcements are from people due in August next year?! :o It's hard to believe that Alana was conceived 12 months ago!
We are going well here. Thankfully Alana's neck issues are fixed and she is back to being a happy little girl again :). Her night sleeps went out the window with her neck issues, but the last three nights she has slept through again, woohoo! I think a big part of the issue was that she could get herself unwrapped and that would wake her up. I tried so many wrapping methods (I even started a thread asking for help) and I finally found one that stops her from getting her arms out. She has slept well ever since I started wrapping her that way.
I've actually finally gotten her to take a dummy when settling for naps. It's so good because she would always cry and squirm when I was getting her off to sleep. Now she calms straight down with her dummy. It only took 3 months of persistence LOL! She has her day naps in her Amby hammock, it's so handy when she wakes up after only one sleep cycle because I can bounce her back to sleep in it. She sleeps in her cot at night though.
We have lots of squawking and squealing over here too! She loves the sound of her own voice and makes the cutest little noises. She has such a sweet, girly voice. A nice change after two boys! DS2 has always had quite a deep voice, there was no mistaking he was a boy when he was tiny!
I pulled the Bumbo out the other day and she really likes it. It's handy when we need a change of scenery. She tends to get bored playing on the floor after a while these days, so the Bumbo is something different for her.
I'd better run. I've been reading all your posts, but just don't have time to respond to them all today. Sorry for being so slack!
Hope you're all well :D
-
Trish - happy you got the neck issues sorted out. I also find it hard to believe that I had onlly just fallen pg 12months ago.
Can I admit to everyone that I see those threads and wish I were pg again  I know i'm a nutcase. i barely coped being pg and looking after the 2 kids last time, and my poor hips, and that terrible morning sickness and I am thinking I want to do it again with three kids to look after. I said something the other day to DH about being pg and he nearly had an epileptic fit. Hopefully this feeling will pass, because I physcially cannot have another short gap - my body would probably pack it in completely, let alone my mental state.
Megsmum - My chubba bubba also feels as if he is stacking on the weight (and looks it). I should get him weighed. I know he is over the 8 kg mark. He is trying to convince me to give him my food at the moment (trying to grab it out of my hand) so i don't think will be long before we start solids here.
-
Ok, just weighed rolls - 8.5kg :)
-
Misty - Wow @ 8.5kg! I don't know if Alana has cracked 6kg yet LOL! And eek @ wishing you are pg again :o. Do you plan on having more children? If so, my hat goes off to you!! I have found 3 so full on, I look at those pregnancy announcements and think "Thank goodness I'm never going through that again". I love being pg, but I am well and truly done now!
-
Trish - Glad Alana's neck is better :) Sounds like she is a very happy bub! It is scary how fast this last year has gone isn't it? Being an IVF bub, I know exactly when E was conceived - 13th Nov - and it is just past 1 year since I got my BFP - 27th Nov :) Pretty sad remembering all those dates huh?
Misty - OMG you do have a big boy don't you? E is the same when we are eating too, just stares at it from the plate to your mouth LOL Won't be long until she is grabbing at it too I think. Eek indeed at being pg again - I must admit about 2 mins after I gave birth to E I thought thank god I don't have to do this again LOL
Hi to everyone else that I missed earlier :)
-
I do want at least one more kid. DH would happily stop now. I am only 27, so I have time. I want at least a four or five year gap this time, so the older ones are at school. The hardest part about having three is that they are all under 4yrs old - so I never get a break from them. So around 31yrs I plan on talking DH into another one ;)
-
Well the Festive/Silly Season is upon us - hope you're all enjoying it.
Koru - How is the expressing going? yaay for the rolling.
Misty - Sorry to hear your DH is away. DH is on his 6th straight shift today 3days 3 nights and think he is going to have to do an extra 3 shifts nights instead of finishing tomorrow. 8.5kg WOW DD wa 5.4kg 2 wks ago and will get weighed again on Friday when we visit the doc.
Trish - Good to hear that Alana's neck issues are sorted out and she is back to her happy self. It is amazing to think that in about 2.5wks time it will be 12 months since I found out I was pregnant.
MegsMum - I think its wonderful you know all the dates... very special indeed.
AFU - Nothing seems to be smooth for DD. You might have seen my post in the forums about DD's poos. She has these flat poppy seed like black spots through her last 3 nappies. On top of that her last one also had green mucous. Weird, although she doesn't seem unwell so just keeping a close eye on it. The doctor here is crap and we're going to the next town 80kms away on Friday to see the good doctor. I'm not surprised if Miss Z has put on an astounding amount of weight in the last two weeks. She has real little chubby thigs and arms now - too cute.
While trying to do my christmas shopping today (online) I found some new websites for toys etc. I'm really excited about them. Good postage rates too. Toys online dot com dot au and my wooden toys dot com dot au
I need to put my christmas tree up but need to find the decorations lol DH packed that cupboard of stuff when we moved last. What is everyone getting their bubbas?
-
Ellee - I even saw her when she was an 8 cell embryo transferred into me on the 16th Nov last year - how spun out is that?? Wish I could help with your poo question - we have had mucousy poos now and again but nothing like poppy seeds. I hope the dr can help! I've got no idea what we are going to get E for Xmas
-
We had a real delemna trying to find a pressie for Baz - because of the close ages, he already has more then he could possibly want or need: but we have to get him something because of the other two. We ended up getting a Mobile for his cot (nothing flash, just a $25 one).
I only have to buy DH something (clothes probably). And a pressie for one of my sisters.
-
Misty - It would be hard have 3 under 4 - I can't imagine it LOL While I'm not happy about the reasons for the gap between my 2 and would have preferred to have had my second child a couple of years ago instead of when I'm pushing 40, it is not totally bad in some ways. DD1 is at preschool now for 3 days a week and I can just spend all those days with E alone and she is off to big school next year too cripes! Not to mention DD1 is just great with E as well, helps entertain her when I have to cook dinner and do stuff around the house. Every cloud has a silver lining I guess. Sounds like a good plan though for your next one :)
-
MegsMum - While I wish that you didn't have to see that, it is amazing. I just love your positive attitude, you're right. Every cloud has a silver lining.
Misty - I was going to get Miss Z a mobile too but my mum has just posted one
We actually don't have many toys or anything. Most of our gifts were clothes that were size 00-1. I ordered and recieved a FP Jumperoo (hope I haven't already told you all this  and I was going to give it to her for christmas but I have used it a few times already  I just felt like we didn't have enough things to stimulate her or play with. I have left the big tag on it though so I can take a photo of it under the christmas tree (cheeky I know)... lucky we don't have any older kids. I really want to buy DD her first doll and have found a lamaze one that seems good, I've also got a few books. I might end up what seems spoiling her but it's because we don't actually have much.
-
Koru - I am expressing milk but not for carers... I don't really have any things coming up where I need to leave DD - she is able to come with us to everything. But I am expressing as I need to (ie if DD sleeps for really long periods and my bbs are bursting). We tried DD on a bottle the other night not because we need her to take milk from a bottle but I had expressed and there was too much in the container to freeze so we put some into a small bottle to feed her from but she didn't know what to do with the teat so we took the top off and sort of poured it into her mouth like you would from a cup if that makes sense and she drank it. She was a bit perplexed as to how she was getting milk without sucking but it worked to get that bit of milk into her. Maybe if Orla won't take to a bottle at first you could use that as a back up... just make sure they tip small amounts in.
MeganH - Glad that the cloth is working for you... I am jealous LOL - the cloth is still not working here... DD still screams blue murder.
Megsmum - I think I will wait until she is older... the main problem is that I bought mostly small things as I thought I would buy the bigger sizes of the ones that worked so I may sell off some of the smaller things to buy some bigger sizes... not sure what we will do yet. E sounds like she is doing very well indeed!
CheezelMonster - eek at the screaming!
Ellee - The leg rolls are too cute, glad that your DD has joined the chubby thighed club. For breast pump I have the medela swing and I love it. I had a Avent manual but I could never get anything out with it and that was annoying as when DD was in hospital I was expressing her feeds so really needed to get the milk out for her. Once I went electric there was no looking back, I was a regular milking machine. I have a small amber teething necklace for DD. I received it as a gift from my sister. Not sure about the poo issue sorry.
Willow - a tooth... wow!
Saffi - eek for those temps. It is uncomfy feeding in those conditions. I hope the weather eases for you soon.
Misty - glad DS1 is better. I am hoping to put my chrissie decs up tomorrow. Wow at 8.5kgs... your poor arms! DD is not quite 6kgs yet.
Trish - glad that the neck is all sorted now.
Big hellos to anyone I have missed.
AFU - DD is doing well. We thing she may be close to 6kgs now but the scales at home are a bit hit and miss so we know she is between 5.8kg and 6kg. She has discovered her hands and promptly put them in her mouth (where they belong apparently!). She has begun grasping at things rather than just hitting them. She hasn't rolled over yet but did roll onto her side on the weekend - no repeat performance as yet!
For christmas we haven't decided what we are getting DD... I know she will get lots of family and friends so I am thinking that we will get her some clothes, a few books (can never have too many books!) and not sure what else.
I am putting up the tree tomorrow and am going out to get a special ornament for DD.
-
TK - the ornament is a nice idea. I have been thinking I should do that for my kids.
We are leaving Baz (and the other two) with my parents in a couple of weeks (just for about 3-4hrs) so DH and I can go out and do some chrissy shopping, have some dinner and watch a movie. We don't know how he will go with a bottle, But we bought one of those tommy tippee, "closer to nature" bottles after having a look at them. the teat is much more like a normal nipple and is very flexible - so hopefully that helps.
-
Geez you girls have been chatty today.
Ellee - could Z be teething? When DS teethed he always had really yucky nappies. Probably best to have it checked out by the Dr just to make sure. I had to get a poo sample for DS once. I actually brought along his last nappy that had a poo (sorry if TMI). Might be an idea especially if you are travelling some distance to go to the Dr - its not like you can go home wait for Z to do her business and then go back to the Drs with the sample to send to the pathologist.
tk - we get a special decoration each year for the kids. For DS's first xmas we got one of those First Xmas decorations and last year he chose one. I like that we are starting a tradition.
Misty - I have to admit having thoughts about #3 which is crazy as I've always said I wanted 2. I'll be 36 in a couple of months so really can't (or want to) leave it too much longer if we were going to have another one. DH actually seems to be receptive to the idea. I think I'll see how I feel about it once DD turns 1. Yay for Baz's weight. I bet you're getting some nice arm workouts.
We use the closer to nature nipples with no problems.
megs - that would have been so cool to see those cells. Did you get a photo?
Trish - great that Alana has settled for you. I'm not wrapping Immi much at night anymore. I don't think it helps her sleep better and she just ends up getting tangled in it.
No idea what to give DD for Xmas. Like Misty we have so many toys already from DS and I can't bear the thought of more toys littering the floor. Don't like the thought of DS getting anymore toys either.
Immi rolled from back to front and then front to back yesterday. I was able to get it on video to show DH. She had such a proud look on her face once she'd done it. She's rolling back to front like an expert now.
-
Saffi - Yay Immi! Yep it was pretty cool seeing E as an embie, but no didn't get a photo unfortunately :( I was not in a good frame of mind back then and feeling really negative about our chances, so didn't want to get too attached by having a photo if that makes any sense? I do regret not getting one now though, but what can you do....
tk - I would definitely not give up if I were you. Maybe you could do a swap of your smalls for some larger sizes? But you might also find that some smalls fit for a while yet too, I know E will be in smalls for at least another month or 2 if I stretch it out a bit, and it sounds like your DD is a similar size. We are very attached to our hands too LOL they are constantly in her mouth. And great idea for the ornament too, enjoy putting up the tree :)
Ellee - Thanks
Hi everyone else :hello:
-
Megs - hope I wasn't insensitive before. There would be the potential to get a lot of photos of transferred embryos that didn't take and that would be really hard to keep being reminded of I would think. Anyway you got to see something very special and that most people don't.
-
Meg - DS1 is an IVF bub also and it is amazing to think back to that little cell on the screen and then look at him today. They really are little walking miracles.
-
Saffi - Not at all! I think it's a question that a lot of people would ask :)
Willow - Well E is not walking yet LOL but they sure are :D I also think its amazing the number of people who have naturally conceived and IVF bubs as well (myself included), just goes to show how much they don't know about conception doesn't it? BTW, I remember you from my ill fated time in PAML in 07 and never realised your DS was an IVF bub - have been lurking and contemplating joining you in the Parenting AML thread this last week or so too but feeling bit shy  you all seem to know each other really well!
-
Trish - I know it's so strange seeing those pregnancy announcements, I had abit of an OMG moment on the anniversary DS was conceived!! By the way - he is still in that bassinet I bought off you last year!! Such a great size. I found him sleeping with his little hands grasping the rails the other night lol.
Misty - I agree, those pregnancy announcements make me jealous!! Wow 8.5kg what a nice size boy you have there. Hope you & your DH have a nice time out, it's well deserved. Thats fantastic that your parents can look after the kids for you!!
Ellee - Hope you get DDs poos sorted out tomorrow!! Will have to remember those websites you mentioned, I love wooden toys. DS is getting lots of books, some wooden things like a shape sorter, some fisher price things like the classic pull along telephone to name some. There is an ELC shop here that is fantastic, they have a website too if you're interested. Probably got him too much but I don't plan on getting him any toys until his bday so kinda got things he can use up until then.
TK - eek is right lol!! How did you go getting an ornament for DD?
Saffi - Yay at the rolling!! Thats great that you got to record the big moment.
Hi to anyone I missed!!
Nothing going on here. We put the tree up yesterday & DS was staring all eyes agog at the lights - so cute!! Has anyone seen the lullaby renditions cds? They are rock songs redone as lullabys for babies!! I borrowed ACDC, Beatles & Queen from the library & DS seems to respond to them. Heck it's so relaxing I respond to them lol!!
-
Hello everyone,
Well, I have been waiting for DH to get home all week. When he got home last night I was just so exhausted I went straight to bed. And then this morning we had a massive fight. So now I am feeling really flat and am wondering what I wanted him home for in the first place. Sigh. He is at work now, but I am still upset with him and completely exhausted.
Well I hope everyone else is doing well. We are 'maybe' going into Civic tonight for the lighting of the Canberra christmas tree, and then my sister is taking DD for a sleepover at her house and I am having her son stay on saturday night, so she can go to a christmas party. So this weekend is looking to be very busy.
-
Afternoon all!
Misty - Big hugs for you . I'm sorry you and your DH had a fight after your time apart. It sounds like you both might be a bit tired and not acting like yourselves? Maybe you both just needed to let off some steam too. I hope you can have some quality time together tonight .
CheezelMonster - I'm glad you're still using the cradle! It is such a lovely one :). I had a similar one for DS1 and he fit in it up until he was 6 months old.
megsmum - How amazing that you got to see your bub in such early stages :D. You'll be able to tell her that when she gets older, I bet she'll love that story!
Willow - I hope you guys are having a good one today .
Saffi - Yay for Immi rolling! What a clever girl!! Re: Christmas present for her, maybe some clothes? I bought Alana a doll for Christmas before she was even born LOL!
TK - Wow, 6kg is great, your bub is doing so well! :D
Ellee - Does your DD like her Jumperoo? I actually have two in my shop and I think I might keep one for a while for Alana to use LOL! Oh, and how are her poos? (Heehee, sorry for the gross question!) Alana had black flecks in her poo when she was newborn and it turned out to be from ingesting blood, my nipples were cracked and bleeding and it was going through her system. She was fine though.
AFU - Alana is going well, she's been doing longer day naps the last couple of days which has been nice. I put her on her tummy a few days ago and she rolled straight back onto her back, then did it again, I was so proud! She is close to rolling from her back to her tummy too. Last night I was making fake snoring noises to her while getting her ready for bed and she cracked up laughing, I just love a good belly laugh from a baby
Oh and I've lost all my 17kg of baby weight already, woohoo! I think it came off so easily this time because I have two others to chase after!
Hope you're all well!
-
Trish - OMG at already having lost 17kg of baby weight. So jealous here, so far I have only lost about 5 or 6kg (weigh in Tomorrow). But I'm working on it.
-
Misty - I hope you patch things up with DH. It's awful when you have a fight like that
Megs - You should come and join us! We are all very close now and I've met a lot of the girls IRL and Mako in particular has become a good friend. But we always welcome new mums! TK's sister Bonham08 has just joined in the last few weeks so you wouldn't be the only 'newbie'. I'm a bit of a weirdo now having had 2 natural pregnancies, then an IVF bub, then another natural pregnancy...I was diagnosed with 'secondary infertility'...no idea what they'd label me with now! :) Still can't believe that our little Bubba D is here most days.
Trish - Good to hear about Alana's naps. The last few days have been much better here. Nights are OK but he's still a bit unsettled in the early evening. He did a 4.5 hour and a 5 hour block last night which is better than he's done in a while. Well done on loosing your weight. I'm pretty much back to what I was but no idea in kgs because I didn't weigh myself this pregnancy. I knew I was huge, didn't need it confirmed! My tummy is NOT what it was though. The skin is loose and horrid - I have a mummy tummy :( I was looking at photos of the last weeks of my prg though and O...M...Goodness I was HUGE, it's no wonder it's in such bad shape. It's amazing a belly can get that big at all really! LOL
Things are going well here. Bummed today cause D's teething necklace arrived in the mail but the clasp was broken so I have to send it back and wait for a new one :( Have been using Hyland's Teething Tablets which seem to be helping him to sleep a bit better.
Better go and wake DS1 up, he's been sleeping for aaaages lately - not that I'm complaining! It's really good when both boys sleep at the same time for a few hours.
-
Misty - It's never come off this quickly before! I don't have a clue what my secret is LOL. I lost 10kg within 5 days of having Alana, so the rest has come off a bit more slowly. It took me 9 months to lose all my baby weight with DS1 (I put on about 21kg with him) and 5 months to lose it all with DS2. I think it's pretty normal to take up to 12 months to lose it all though :)
-
Misty - sorry you & your DH had a fight. Hope you had a good time at the lighting of the tree.
Trish - well done on the weight loss!! I put on probably 30kg (don't own scales so only weighed myself at kmart etc!!) & still have a way to go. Way to go Alana with her rolling, that's so exciting!!
Willow - what a shame about your teething necklace. Hope they get a replacement sent out to you asap.
-
Hello everyone,
DH came home from work yesterday with a bunch of flowers and a big apology. So we are all good here now, well mostly.... anyone else find that the arguements you have with your other half are always the same one??
I weighed in today. lost 1.8kg this week! YAY! so, 6.2kg down. Just over 20kg to go (and then maybe a little extra, we'll see how I go :) )
My nephew is sleeping over tonight. He is my DD's age. they are both asleep, and so is Baz. But somehow DS1 has managed to creep out in the loungeroom and climb up on the seat and is watching TV with me - I didn't even notice him come out  I am pretending to still not see him will put him back to bed later.
-
Hi all,
Just been reading to see what all your bubs are up to..
I have a late August bub (24th), and sometimes feel a bit lost. Amazing how I forget something I went through less than 2 years ago
Not sure how often I will get to post, but will do my best..
-
Hey everyone
Been reading but now have finally got a chance to do a post as DH and DS have gone to Bunnings and Immi (I shall now refer to her as M) is asleep.
heather - I should have read this thread first LOL. I know what you mean about forgetting things from the first time around eventho it was less than 2 years ago. We can feel lost together!
Misty - yay on the weight loss. I had wondered how you were going. Thinking I might go back to WW as I need the structure of the weigh-ins to keep me focussed. Happy to hear that you and DH have made up.
DS1 sounds too cute.
Trish - bigger yay on the weight loss (but I hate you LOL). I should think that 3 would keep you pretty busy. Yay for A rolling too!
I went through the kids' new and old clothes the other day and there are things in smaller, current and larger sizes that she hasn't even worn yet. Have to admit she wears a lot of L's hand-me-downs during the week when we are just at home. Even DH commented when I put her in pink today.
Cheezel - not sure where DH found them but with DS he downloaded lullabies made from Metallica and Nirvana songs. We had the iPod set up in his room and played them while he went to sleep.
Hi to Willow, Koru, Megs, tk, Ellee, Issy and anyone else I've missed.
Is anyone going to get their babies vax'ed against Swine Flu once they are old enough? I see that they now have a vax for babies >6months. DH had the vax as he is a health worker but I haven't yet and wasn't sure about the kids. I'll talk to the GP and see what he thinks.
Nothing happening here. M was 4 months yesterday. She is doing really well and is such a happy little bubby. Still doesn't sleep much during the day but overnight I get around 5 - 6 hours straight which I am pretty happy with. We are going to start the transition of DS into a bed so we can put M into the cot. She keeps bumping her head on the top of the basinette.
Think we might put the Xmas tree up today. Might need to erect a fence around it to keep DS and the dogs away from it. Still need to get some personalised ornaments for the kids too. Has anyone got their bubs' photo with Santa yet?
Have a good day everyone.
-
Hey all,
Hope everyone had a good weekend. I did - DP was 'grounded' and spent the whole weekend with us :)
In answer to Misty's question YES we always argue about the SAME thing - ie DP thinking he can still go out and 'socialise' (read get drunk) on friday nights, spend saturday nursing a hangover and spend precious funds on beer :( Don't get me wrong - he really is a wonderful dad and does heaps around the house but this is the one sticking point for us. My life has changed considerably already since being pregnant but he seems to think he can merrily continue is party-boy days. Anyway I put my foot down finally!
On brighter note, what would have been spent on beer was happily frittered away getting our xmas shopping done online. I've never been much for online shopping but this is brilliant! No need to brave the hoards in town or drive across to far flung suburbs - it's all coming to me in the post! I'm a convert :)
Hooray Trish on the weight loss!
Willow I'm keen to hear how the necklace works once you get a replacement. Does it have to be a special kind of amber? I have an amber bracelet already (I bought in France back in my backpacker days).
Hooray for all the kidlets rolling :) Orla is still only getting part the way over then giving up and going back to her back - oh well she'll get there eventually....
My mother's group has organised a first aid course for common home accidents tomorrow night so we'll get to practice DP feeding Orla EBM from a bottle too.
Have a great week and stay cool with the xmas shopping .......

Oh I forgot to answer Saffi: I'm waiting to see if this winter's swine flu continues to be no worse than a normal flu in which case I won't bother with the vaccine.
Yeah Orla is a crap napper too but sleeps well overnight. I'm not concerned about the total amount of sleep she's getting but she does get awfully cranky by the afternoon - anyone else in the same boat?
-
I'm not going to bother with the swine flu vaccine.
I have all my chriisy shopping done except for DH - still don't know what to buy him... I 'think' he bought me a Wii console and a Wii fit plus. :)
My mum has just come back from holidays and she got all my kids a little pressie. For Baz she got him this little mess bag thing that you put food in for him to suck on - well, I put a piece of rockmelon in it last nighht and gave it to him while we ate dinner. He loved it! It is the first time he has ever tasted anything other then breast milk, but it is such a nifty little thing because he could join in and try something new, but I didn't actually have to feed him food, or worry about him choking.

Cheezel - I haven't seen the rock lullabys but E was unsettled the other evening so DH put some of our music on and DD danced around to it LOL E absolutely loved it! We'll be trying that again I can tell you!
misty - Glad you and DH have made up. We are the same too, mostly of our arguments are about DH not doing any housework and leaving cr@p everywhere when I've just cleaned  He got up me on the w/e for dropping weeds that I'd just pulled out of the garden on his freshly mowed lawn too - now he knows how I feel!
Trish - I'm so jealous, my weight is taking ages to come off this time  still got a couple of kgs to go. The belly laughs are so cute aren't they? E is a bit of a chuckler too LOL
Willow - Bummer about the teething necklace :( Maybe I will come and join you all then, don't think E will let me today though and just got to get over the shyness a bit more too LOL
Happy Mummy - :hello: and welcome!
Saffi - Happy 4th month to you and M :) i know how you feel about the day sleeps, E is the same unless I lie down with her, then she'll sleep for a couple of hours. Good when I'm tired! And even though she still feeds overnight 2 times at least she resettles easily. Good luck getting DS into a bed! I think we'll give the SF vax a miss - TBH I'm a bit sceptical because a) it all seems a bit hurried through KWIM? and b) I think its been a bit hyped up to be worse than it is  JMHO.
koru - Yay for having DP around the whole weekend! GL with the EBM and bottle too.
Hi to anyone I've missed, I'm sure there must be someone cause I'm trying to hurry.
AFU, not much as usual. Bought a Bumbo on the w/e and E loves it - sat outside with me for ages in it yesterday happy as a pig in mud. And got it locally so saved $15 in postage - very happy about that! Anyway, better dash got nappies to hang out and E is sucking on my shoulder, her latest thing LOL

Misty - that's nice your DH brought you flowers, the apology is even better. Yes I find DH & I fight about the same thing lately - him not pulling his weight with housework. He is home for 5 days so I expect a little more help on his days off.
Happy Mummy - hello & welcome!!
Saffi - how'd you go with the tree? I haven't got a santa photo yet but I hope to.
Koru - that's a great idea for your mothers group!! I might mention that at mine, how did you get onto it?
Megs - glad E likes the Bumbo, have only heard good things about them.
AFM DS has started trying to roll from back to front!! Of course he gets stuck on his side but is so cute to watch.
-
Misty - I am envious of your planned outing!! Sounds like it will be a good day! I feel your pain fighting with DH... DP and I seem to not do much else - and yep it always seem to be the same old things. Congrats on the weight loss.
Saffi - I am sorry but I had to laugh at the poo sample... but I like your thinking. I would likely be the same. Yay for rolling! I am not going to be immunising DD against the H1N1 (swine flu)... I don't want it for myself so won't be getting her to have it.
Megsmum - I think DD will be in smalls for sometime... still trying and she still hates them LOL.
CheezelMonster - those CDs sound very cool! Might have to see if I can find some! Yay for rolling!
Trish - yay for rolling!! Your weight loss is fantastic! Congratulations.
Willow - that sucks re the necklace!
Happy Mummy - welcome & hello!.
AFU - we have had DDs Santa photos done... will upload it in the next day or two to show you all. DP and I are fighting like there is no tomorrow and quite frankly if we keep going like we are then it could be the end of us. Time will tell I suppose. Not much else to report... after responding to everyone's posts I just do not have energy. We are doing well. Having DDs 4month needles this week - eek - 4 months... that went QUICK! DD is not quite rolling yet... she did get onto one side last weekend but no repeat performance which is ok
