Thanks Trish for the dream feed advice - I wasn't sure how to introduce one as DD tends to just wake up if I try to feed her or I can't get her interested but I will continue at my attempts to get one in there!
Willow - how did you tell the length of the sleep cycle? it is something you picked up from experience. I just thought DD was waking when she starts stiring... cause she usually does wake up but am I reading right that if I help her to settle she might sleep longer?
TK - Yep, learnt through experience! All babies sleep in cycles of between 20-60mins. At the end of the first cycle some babies will stir, open their eyes, look around and then just nod back off. A lot of babies won't though, they'll wake and cry etc and will need help to move into the next sleep cycle. If you notice your bub is waking after 30-40mins, big chance is they've just gotten through one sleep cycle and can't transition to the next, deeper cycle of sleep.
I noticed this week that DS would often start calling out (I know that sounds weird but he does! It's not really a cry more of a 'wha' sound and that's it) at the one hour mark. Ideally at this age you'd want a baby to sleep for about 2 hours so I always try and resettle him to get him back to sleep. It is hard work with most babies but eventually they get the idea that they need to sleep longer and as they get better at self settling they will just resettle themselves between sleep cycles and start sleeping longer.
Trish and I are old pros - our 2 year old boys both did this for weeks and weeks when they were little! :rolleyes:

I'm very pleased to say also that last night Max slept from 8pm until 5am, had a feed and slept till 8am, YAY!!!! Looking forward to beginning to feel "normal" again!

I have been MIA for a while, visiting DH's family and his father in Singleton. So glad to be home. To be honest, I didn't even really want to go, but it isn't like I can say 'no we cann't go and see your dying father'.
How have you all been going?
Baz is growing up so fast. He is sooo interactive now. He loves playing games (ie, peekaboo) and is a very hapy little boy. Although he is definitely not a fan of the car anymore after being stuck in it so much.
DH is disappearing with the army reserves this weekend, so I will be stuck at home alone with the kids. yay. NOT! I thik I need to get myself a life. Something that doesnot involve having a child around. I ALWAYS have kids with me. Even when I go to Weight watchers I have to take Baz with me, because DH doesn't think he can look after all three on his own at that time of night. hhmmm... I might change that. I have weigh in tonight. Maybe I'll just leave Baz here. If DH complains I can always point out that I have all three ALL the time - and that this weekend he is dissapearing for 72hrs, and somehow I am supposed to manage that. Surely he can manage one hour (granted it is dinner and bedtime hour) without me. Ok I've talked myself into it, now I just have to not let him guilt me out of it. i feel like I do everything for everyone else and not myself.
well this post turned into a little winge, didn't it. :lol:

Misty I do know how you feel with having all Three all the time. Im the one who has to get them up in the morning. Im the one who deals with all the tantrums and is constantly tidying up after them. I am the one who has to take them with me all the time. I often even make an effort when DH is home to take them all out to give him a rest. But what about me? I cant go out for much more than a couple hours without Emily coz I am BFing.
When DH gets home from work I always give him time to have a **** shower and a shave before I ask him to do anything. But its funny how he wont come inside when he gets home. He finds things to do outside and wont even say hello when he gets home just in case I pass Emily over to him to get tea cooked or something.
I admit I do go to the gym and put the kids in the creche for a bout an hour 4 days a week, but I still have to get them ready get there and deal with all the crap. When do I get my time, when do I get to go out for a while or get left home while he takes the kids out.
I could go on and on.
Sorry this was supposed to be in sympathy for you Misty but Ive ended up having a big whinge of my own. LOL!

Have been MIA for a while with school holidays and a DD1 with gastro last week, but just wanted to say :hello: everyone. We are doing well, still feeding 2 or 3 times a night but I don't mind really. At least I can catch a nap during the day most days :)
Hugs misty and Megan - its hard having a DH that doesn't pull his weight I guess :( Mine is not too bad fortunately.
tk - We are the same, I just go with the flow too :) To each their own I say!

Man, I think we're having a growth spurt...or at least I hope so. Little man is not sleeping as well as he usually does and feeding more frequently. Could also be the heat, it's been 35 here the last two days.
Tried the dream feed and decided to ditch it. Didn't make any difference to his waking overnight and in fact the second and third night he woke more often :doh:
Has taken ages to settle him tonight which is unusual.
Also - he has teeth coming through???!!! I noticed little white spots on his bottom gum when he was born but didn't think too much of it. But in the last few weeks they've become much more noticeable. This week everyone is commenting on them so I'm not seeing things. Might be weeks and weeks before they actually pop but they're definitely there :o
Misty and Heather - its crap that your DHs don't help out more. I can sort of understand how they may not be confident taking care of a newborn.
Willow - teeth already? I think L was about 4 months when his first teeth came through. Not looking forward to those gunky nappies.
Megs - yeah, but she doesn't sleep long during the day. She's been waking at 5am so my days are pretty long.
Anyway, going to feed the little miss and get her to bed and myself.

I better put in here that my DH more then pulls his weight in regards to housework (he does 90% of the housework) and childrearing. He is the one who gets up at 5am every morning when my two older kids wake up. And he takes Baz when he has had a feed and lets me sleep in.
The problem is that my life revolves in every aspect around my children. I am a SAHM, every waking moment is spent with my kids. DH is fabulous, but he gets away from it with work and with army reserves (his downtime activity). I don't have anything for myself (well now I have WW) because I am breastfeeding - it makes it much harder logistically. Plus DH works every weekday until 6pm, travels away for work overnight or for a couple of days and is away with reserves one weekend a month - which means I have NO choice but to look after the kids at these times. And then I am restricted from doing things on my own (to an extent) when DH is home to look after the kids because I do not have a liscence, so me going anywhere requires EVERYONE going (I plan on remedying this next year by getting my liscence). With 3 kids under 4 and one of them breastfeeding, two in nappies, it can be hard work for one person if they are having a ratty day (when they are having a good day it can be a peice of cake). The truth is it is only a temporary situation, but it is so easy to loose myself and my 'me' time, because it is easier to do things this way and not make time for myself. So really it is my fault. I have even given up my gym membership temporarily, because even though I would get an hour to myself when the kids are in the creche, it takes a mamoth effort to get them all prepared and to the gym on time (working around DH's work sechedule - and provided there are available spots in the creche at that particular time for all three kids). Often the effort of doing things like that is more stressful then it is worth.
But now that I have said all that, DH did take all three kids tonight and it was nice to have an hour to myself, doing something 'un-family related'. That is something that is going to stay. Also as I said, I am working on getting my car liscence next year (which will make things alot easier) and I plan on stealing my mums riding boots and then hopefully getting my own for christmas, so I can start riding my motorbike again ( I haven't riden since I was 5months pg with DD and I really miss doing this). I will also be going back to work next may, which is only 4-6hrs a week - but which has been that one outlet that has kept me sane for the last few years since having kids.
wow - sorry that turned into an essay :lol: I just wanted you all to know that it is really circumstances (mostly caused by my personal choices) that have led to this - But I still retain the right to winge about my lack of freedom, because that is the only freedom I have left :p :lol:
Misty - I completely, totally understand where you're coming from. I have 3 under 5 so a bit older but still it's pretty much the same here, my youngest are both under 2 so I have two in nappies, am breastfeeding 2 etc.
I have made much more of an effort this time to get out on my own and do the things I enjoy. I made that mistake with DS1 who was not a very settled newborn and had a few sleeping issues. I let it really restrict my life and now that I've experienced that, I know that it's all just a temporary state and to make sure I have a bit of 'myself' through it all.
DH is great and encourages me to go out on my own but there are often stretches when that's just not possible because I have to work around him. I haven't had any 'me' time without the kids for 3 weeks now because DH has had stuff on or we've had family commitments. I am really looking forward to tomorrow because I am going to express so I can miss a feed and am heading out shopping on my own (and might even manage a pedicure ;)) It's so, so important to do these things.
We are also going away for the weekend in a few weeks - we're renting a house on Lake Macquarie and spending 2 nights. I NEVER would have done that when DS1 was a baby because like you said the stress of it all didn't seem worth it. But now I've changed my attitude and I think that no matter what happens, we'll survive it and you never know - we just might end up having a fantastic weekend. You don't know until you try :)
Anyway, I'm not trying to lecture you, just saying that I really understand :hug:
Misty - I misinterpreted your post. Sorry. But you're right, it is a temporary thing. Kind of like doing it tough now to reap the benefits later.
misty - Sorry I did too :redface: Your situation is not too different to mine really, I have a DH that travels for work fairly often and also works till 6pm most nights too. I'm breastfeeding as well and when E is distressed she just screams louder if she is with DH :( So in that case even if he is around there is not much he can do to help. I know how you feel about the me time - I'm dying to have a hair colour and/or facial, not much really but it is just so hard to fit it in now! Anyway, I'm glad you got a bit of time to yourself last night :) I just keep telling myself that it is not forever, before I know it she will be a "big girl" like her big sister is.
Saffi - Yeah, I hadn't though of it that way, 5am is not good either when they don't sleep much during the day :( At least I can sometimes get a sleep in till 8am if E goes back to sleep after her 6 or 7 am feed. I have to say I would not cope well with 5am starts at all, I'm so not a morning person!

I wrote a great big long post earlier this week then it disappaered when I hit 'submit'! Then Orla and I were struck down with a cold so I haven't had a chance to get back on the net til now.
Hats off to you ladies with 3 littlies all at home - I find it hard enough to get 'me time' with one! My mother's group started this week I was feeling pretty inadequate - seems everyone else is going to the gym, eating out 'sans bebe', and has their kids 'sleeping thru' :o
Actually it was probably only a couple of people doing one of those things each but y'know!
I was going to go to yoga last sunday but Orla's cold made her very chucky that morning (all the gunk in her throat poor pet).
I had written a big long explanation as to why I am going to get her the 6-in-1 vaccination next week but basically i want to cover her for whooping cough and it's the only way I can do it. So much for delaying til 6 months..... I feel a bit of a hypocrite but if it weren't for this WC outbreak I would have waited....
What's a Bumbo? We had to return the loaned swing so now I'm hanging out for Orla to be big enough for a Jolly Jumper cos she's reliant on me to move her again :(

Salboo - Wow, what a great sleep Max had the other night, I hope he is keeping it up! I second getting a Bumbo, I borrowed one for DS2 and he LOVED it! I bought a second hand one recently for DD, it will be great when she's old enough to sit in it.
Misty - :hug: I hear you on having no "me" time. I have absolutely nothing for me atm. DH gets to go out and he plays tennis once a week, I have no problem with him doing that, but I wish I had that freedom sometimes! I think it really hits you when you have bub #3? It won't be like this forever though, that's what I keep reminding myself :). That's great that you're going for your licence next year, you won't know yourself :D
Megan - :hug: Just some sympathy from a fellow mum of three LOL!
Willow - Ugh at the extra night wakings, hopefully it's just a growth spurt and it ends quickly. I found the same thing happened when I first tried Alana with the dream feeds, she'd wake up more often too. I stopped doing them, then tried again a week or so later and it started working better. I have no idea why that happened! Wow, I can't believe D is getting teeth already :o. I guess it's better to get them out of the way as quick as possible!
Saffi - 5am is a bit rough you poor thing :hug:. It definitely makes for a long day. I hope you are able to get some rest throughout the day.
Koru - Great idea about inviting the other August mums over to this thread, I'll have to post in there later. PLEASE don't compare yourself or your baby with the others in your mother's group! All is not as it seems, I'm sure! It can seem like everyone else has it all "perfect", but if you chat to them all individually you'll see it's not that way at all. I bet they all feel the same way that you do ;). A Bumbo is a kind of rubbery type seat that your baby can sit in on the floor, it's a deep seat so they can't really fall out of it and it's handy to carry around the house or to people's homes etc. Google them and you'll see what they look like.
AFU - All is going pretty well. Alana is still feeding once overnight and usually gets up for the day at around 7:45am which works out well because I can have the boys up and fed before she gets up. She was having problems going to sleep today (i.e - refusing to sleep) and I was pulling my hair out. Then for her last nap I put on this Fisher Price thing that has a light projector that projects pictures on the ceiling and plays nature sounds and she went quiet straight away, then she fell asleep. Woohoo! :confetti: I hope it works again for the next nap LOL!
She's really getting into the toy arch that we have. She bats at the toys and smiles and talks to them, it's so sweet. She is trying to laugh now too, not quite there yet, but she's working on it! She is growing so quickly, I feel kinda sad that she's not a newborn any more, but I also love watching her change. I look forward to seeing what she looks like at 12 months old.

Things going well here atm. After a couple of 4am wake-ups this morning Immi decided to wake just before 5am which is A LOT better. I actually tried side lying when feeding her which I have never done before as my back is still giving me a lot of trouble. Was worried that I would fall asleep and roll on her but didn't.
Immi has been doing her big sleep in the morning. I really should go back to bed myself but not tired and need to get stuff around the house done. The washing pile is scary as it is.
koru - 6 in 1 vax? Immi still hasn't had her 2month shots as the GP wanted her to get over her cough. Well that was three weeks ago and she still has it. We're off to the GP tomorrow for her shots or a script for some anti-biotics if he still won't vaccinate her.
I second what Trish has said about comparing. I guess its human nature to always look to what others are doing, compare and then to judge and question yourself. Being a first time mum is tough as you don't have that "been there and done that all before" experience to fall back on.
Nothing much happening. Its DS's 2nd birthday tomorrow. We are having a party on Thursday which have been preparing for. It is kinda sad that my little boy is no longer a baby. But I guess in other ways he always will be.

Just a little woohoo from me quickly. Emily has slept through the WHOLE night three nights in a row. I cant believe it! I mean, I wasnt fussed about getting up once or twice during the night but if she wants to sleep through Im more than happy not to get up at all LOL! The only thing in my boobs are hard as rocks and very sore in the morning and my manual breast pump has buggered up in the last couple days too. So I reckon Im gunna fork out an get an electric one. After she has her first feed in the morning I will express whatever is left over and freeze it. It would be nice to get a decent stock up of frozen breast milk.
Megan - wow on the sleeping through! that is great!
Saffi - I hope Immi is feeling better.
I am in singleton living in a hotel for the next couple of weeks as my FIL passed away on sunday.

Hello to everyone else.
Immi had her vax yesterday. She's still not over the cough but as she doesn't have a temp the Dr was happy to give it to her. She looked like she enjoyed the oral Rotavirus medicine and none of it was spat out. Of course there were screams with the injections :cry: She's running a bit of a temp at the moment but seems to be sleeping and feeding ok.
Day at home today. Yesterday was so busy with Dr 's appointments (hers and mine) and shopping for DS's party (tomorrow). It was DS's birthday yesterday so we made a birthday cake for him which was nice. Anyway, looking forward to a rest as my back is so so with all the getting in and out of the car and walking.

Has anyone noticed their bub is now able to handle a bit more awake time? DS can be happily awake for up to 1.5 hours some times now.
He is sleeping pretty well, great during the day and still waking usually twice overnight. I have managed to resettle him the last two nights at the first wake up and then feed him at the second. If I can manage to get him waking only once I will be stoked, but am perfectly happy to go with what he needs at this stage, he is still so young.
We have his follow up u/sounds at the Children's Hospital next week for his head and hips. Am trying not to think about it too much at this stage :(
It is DH's bday tomorrow then our big boy turns 2 on Sunday so a busy weekend ahead.

Misty, condolences to your family - I hope transposing yourself to Singleton hasn't disrupted the kids too much.
MeganH - way to go on the sleeping thru :) I'm not too fussed waking a couple of times to feed Orla as we co-sleep but I'm currently trying to adjust her overnight sleep to commence at 8pm instead of 10. So far we've had a few 9pms and an 8.30 :D but that was the night after she was vaccinated so I don't think that counts.... When she hasn't gone down til 10 she's only had one feed break and one time that wasn't til 5am! (boy were my boobs sore!)
Saffi by 6-in-one vax I meant the Infanrix Hexa as it covers 6 diseases (including WC) - it's now a preservative-free formulation and they've removed the thiomersal which made a huge difference in my decision whether or not to go ahead with the vax. Orla screamed the house down when she got the needle but she was fine albeit very sleepy the next day.
Willow - all the best for the ultrasound - hope the results are reassuring for you :)

It has been a while before i have updated everyone on here... So sorry I'm a tad slack :P very busy these days..
Well after weeks and weeks El being really bad with her reflux. We have found something that works :) We have stopped the Zantac, and she is now on "mirina reflux and colic drops' available at any good pharmacy and i am also expressing one feed (generally the night before) and thickening it and giving it to her in the avo...
And i tell you what, these two simple changes have just made the world of difference. She's sleeping sometimes from 10pm to 6am. other times she might wake up once or twice (but i done mind) she has sleeps during the day know and is generally ALOT happier! Which makes for a less stress ful mum!
El is just the cutest little girl! She loves it when i sit her on top of my knees and make funny sounds and faces she laughs aawy... A baby's first laugh is just the most cutest!!! She still doesn't like going to many people... But I don't mind :P
Aw I am just so much happier that i have a more settled and happier baby... It makes the world of difference!
Im a bit worried about next week tho, as Df is working Wednesday avo, thursday morning and avo shift and friday morning... so I have all four kids from Wed Morning to Fri avo by my self!!! AGHHH...
Anyways i must be off... I have an Assignment due on Monday and i havent really started much! I keep putting it off! or el would wake up as i start...

Nothing much happening. Immi now weighs 5.7kg which I think is around the 64th percentile. Still not too good with her day sleeps. This morning she was up at 3am! took until 4.30am to settle and then up at 7am. No laughs here yet, but she smiles alot and there's heaps of cooing which is so cute.

HI ladies... I have been slack again - am reading but just do not get time to post!
You are all doing so well... overcoming so many issues as first time mums as well as those looking after multiple kids!
I have my first mothers group tomorrow - not sure what to expect but oh well - you get that!
DD was just over 5kg at her last weigh in (22nd Oct) and she is over three different sized clothes... some 00000 still fit (pants and tops etc), mostly in 0000 but some of her onesies suits are now 000.
We have started our christmas shopping and it is weird how it has taken such a new life on now that we have DD!
She had some gunk in her eye the other day - I did think it was conjunctivitis but I don't think it was... think it was just some spring pollen or something. I have been squirting BM into the eye to flush it out and it is working wonders.
Um can't think of much else... other than DP and I have been very naughty and been DTD with no protection whatsoever... I really have my fingers crossed that breastfeeding is holding back any cycles... and double fingers crossed that my PCOS is still wreaking havoc on any cycle I 'may' have... AF is still at bay but I am wondering if I should get a pg test just to make sure... argh! I am going out to buy condoms tomorrow cause DP was supposed to do it and hasn't yet - eek!

tk - great weight gain. My DS is 2 and his clothes sizes range from 0 - 2 depending on the make and style.
Yes, your life will never be the same now that you have a kid. TBH I found with an infant Xmas wasn't much different than prebaby and in some ways worse because you needed to work within the baby's routine, couldn't drink etc. Now that DS is older and understanding more this Xmas is going to be so much fun!
You better be careful with DTD. AF didn't return for me until 12 months after DS was born and we became pg with DD the very next cycle. I also have PCOS and the problems we had conceiving DS (in the end needed clomid) seemed to disappear with DD. We were prepared to become pregnant so it was a welcome surprise.
Good news about DD's eye.
Hope you meet some nice ladies at your mother's group. Two years on I still meet weekly with my group and of course my DS's belly/baby buddies group here is still very active.
tk - Yay for DD's weight gain! She's not that far behind E, I think she's about 5.5kgs now - must weigh her again soon! How are the MCN's going? We have been using ours since we came home from hospy and used them on DD1 as well - I think they are great.
Saffi - Sorry the day sleeps are not real good :( we're a bit the same ATM. She wakes up crying from them a bit more often than she used to. Then I give her a quick feed and she drops back off again. I don't know whats going on, I think she wants more rest but can't drop back off - I know there is not much crying in the evening if she's had a good sleep during the day.

Hi everyone else, hope you and bubs are all well.
AFU, not much is up. E is so close to laughing now, her big sis has gotten quite a few half laughs out of her, but she's not quite there yet LOL She talks heaps when she's awake - its so cute. We've had DD1's kindy orientation the last 2 Tues mornings though and E has been a complete gem, phew! Had to BF her at the back of the hall though the other day LOL to keep her quiet.
Saffi - it is annoying how there is such a difference in size ranges - people have asked what size she is in so they can buy her clothes and it is really hard. I have been saying 000 as they will at least fit her either now or in the future. I know we had best be careful - :redface: we now have condoms!
Megsmum - thank you for the reassurance re DDs weight - it is hard to know how she is doing compared to babies born at the same time as her. MCNs aren't going too bad - I use them during the day but haven't ventured into night time cloth yet :redface:. I can't wait for the first laugh... we get lots of smiles but no even half laughs just yet.
AFU - we are in Cowra at the moment - my sister found out last Monday that her baby grew wings and became an angel so we are up here to help her whilst she recovers from the D&C. I was supposed to get Caitlin weighed today (she is still on fortnightly weighs) so will either see if I can get her weighed up here or wait until next Tuesday when the clinic local to me is open again. I can't believe my DD will be 3months old in 4 days - my oh my time has flown! DD has had a gunky eye since the other day - it went away and now she gets some gunk when she wakes up but it is more than sleep but less than you would have with conjunctivitis... argh no idea what it is but I am flushing her eye out with BM and it seems to be working.

AFU - With the mcn's, I only use them during the day. I used them at night while Emily was waking every few hours but now she is sleeping through I use 1 disposable. I have bought a heap on special and should have enough to last me nearly 12 months if we use only 1 a night (I bought bigger sizes too). From all the thread I have read about msn's and night nappies, it just seems like to much of a hassle to find something that works for Emily at night and too much trial and error. IYKWIM? So Im sticking with disposables at night. Still saving heaps of money by using the cloth during the day.
Emily has had a few little laughs. Is gorgeous. It takes a bit of effort to get her going sometimes but well worth it. She is learning to play with her toy arch and will sometimes play with it for up to an hour. She is also rolling onto her side and moves around a little by pushing her feet on the floor. She also did a few little raspberries with her mouth the other night but hasnt done that again since. OMG it was so gorgeous, I bragged about it to everyone but now she hasnt done it again :doh: serves me right for bragging. Most nights she is also sleeping through now and if she does wake its only once for a quick feed then back to sleep again. I consider myself pretty lucky in the sleep department. Day time is very different though, she doesnt sleep much during the day but If I have to sacrifice the day sleeps to have plenty of sleep at night Im happy to do that.
Breastfeeding is going awesome, I love love love watching Emily when she is feeding, especially when she is in an ultra good mood and plays games with me, she will have a few sucks then will stop and let go and look at me with a big smile then do the same thing a few times. When she gives me a big smile she will sometimes keep her tongue on my nipple (sounds weird hey, but its so cute) just to make sure it aint going anywhere. Ive got a photo of her doing that and I just wanna show everyone but I know that not everyone wants to see my nipple LOL.

Baz is such a happy boy. It is fabulous having such a happy baby. He giggles and plays with his big sis and big bro. We have all been sick lately, luckily bazz hasn't been too bad though.
I cann't believe how quickly time is passing, he is getting so big and playful. He is now definitely a size 0 (although the occaisional size 00 or size 1 do fit). he has started rolling from his back onto his front - but cann't roll the other way yet.
tk - I am so very sorry to hear about your sister's loss :( I have had the same happen myself obviously, it was the most devastating thing I have ever had happen to me. I hope she recovers quickly from the D&C, I know the emotional side of things takes longer - she is lucky to have a sister like you to help her through. We use itti bitto boos at night, they are hard to come by ATM, but I think Sue will have some more not too far away. They work really well at night for us with a wool cover, but E is not a huge wetter at night only during the day. Go on, you can do it ;)
Megan - Yay for a laugh :) That's great that BF is going well for you too, E does the pull off and smile at me thing too, its so cute. I'm lucky with the MCNs I guess, I did the trial and error thing with DD1 who was a huge wetter at night, so I know what to do with E. I also have quite a few nappies left which will get used again. Its still great though that you are saving heaps of money by using cloth during the day, whatever works best for you!

Megan I loved your story about Emily feeding - Orla is similar : stopping to give me a smile and say 'ah-bu' which in her language means she's content *sigh* so sweet! Tho sometimes she stops and growls at me cos my boob is squirting her in the face - I'm beginning to wonder if my supply will EVER calm down! Getting a bit sick of waking up soaking even WITH a nappy stuffed down my front! (Ok I will concede it's not nearly as bad as having a low supply)
Megsmum what MCNs do you recommend for night? I've been using Haute pockets and have just trialed some Itti Bitti de-lish snap-in-ones. I'm really impressed by them so will order more once Orla is big enough for the 'medium' size but not sure they'll last overnight. Are their Boo's just fitted nappies thst need a cover?
koru - I'd tend to go with some sort of bamboo fitted for overnight. Bamboo is more absorbent and smells less when wet than hemp does. I like the itti bitti boo (yep it is a fitted that needs a cover) ATM mainly because its trim and also I get them for the right price because I know Sue LOL Newcastle is a small town that way IYKWIM ;) But you could go with several other types, Baby Beehinds, Cute Tooshies to name couple I know, there are more than that though of course. I haven't used the Haute pockets, I'm not a big pocket fan cause I could never get them to work well for DD1, although I know plenty of ladies love them. You'll probably find though with the boo (sp mistake in my last post too!) and probably any other non dedicated night nappy that for night use they don't cut it either at all or without any boosting as Orla gets older and does bigger wees and/or holds on for longer.
You are right about the Dlish too, I love them for day and trips out, but I wouldn't use them for night except in an emergency and then I'd be changing E overnight too because it wouldn't last the night. I prefer a wool cover for night to PUL (Dlish are a minky PUL outer) for a start because wool is more breathable, and the other thing with all in ones is that your ability too boost them for overnight is limited. Because they are "all in one" if you add too much boosting they will gape around the leg and leak unfortunately. With a fitted and a cover, you can boost inside the nappy as well as between the nappy and cover and as long as the cover fits snugly over the whole lot you won't get leaks.
Anyway that's turned into a bit of an essay LOL but I hope it helps :) Like I said I had heaps of trial and error with DD1 to find a good system that worked for her, but its a breeze once you get it right. I tend to put too much boosting in rather than not enough KWIM? You can always cut back on it the next night if it was too much.

Immi is talking too. Her's is a goo/grr soundnand it is so cute. She talks with her eyes too. We have the best conversations when I am changing her nappy.
Nothing much happening here. DS is at daycare after 2 days at home so it is nice to just chill and do some cleaning up and not have to entertain him all day. Immi is asleep in her rocker so thinking I should lie on the couch and maybe get some zzzzzz too.

I'm back from my trip to Queensland and really missed keeping up with the posts and even just caught myself thinking if only I could ask the BB girls about this. My Pop's funeral was a lovely celebration of his life and I enjoyed seing most of my family and friends. The inlaws however.... I was in tears. I don't know what makes them think they have the right to take my baby girl when they want and say no to me when I ask for her back when she is crying!!! TRUE STORY! That was just one thing.
Hoping to catch up with all your posts over the next few days. But AFU - Miss Z is becoming ever so interactive with her chatting, smiling and laughing. She is a real wriggle worm and is constantly trying to stand when you rest her on your chest. She is quite proud of herself. Her head shape is still a concern for us. We have a appointment with the health nurse on Tuesday for her to be weighed etc so will see what response we get this time. We are now having to use the Losec tablets and dissolve them which is a nightmare. I have found though if I use gripe water instead she is happy to have the medication rather than spiting it out and crying hysterically.

MeganH - That is great forward thinking on the sposies and buying them in larger sizes! DD is still in newborn sposies but we tried her in the infant size today - they do fit but they are so huge on her! The newborn sizes fit much better but I know it won't be long until she fits the infants size! That is so good on the laughs!! DD also likes her play gym toy arch thingy

Megsmum - thank you, I am not anything special - I am just doing what needs to be done for my sister during this time. I am hoping to get some IB Boos - only have the d'lish at the moment.
Koru - DD also gets annoyed when she pulls off and gets squirted with BM in the face. I often keep a towel or terry cloth nappy next to me so I can quickly catch the spray!
Saffi - DD tends to talk more when we are changing nappy. Hope you were able to get a nap in!
Ellee05 - glad to see you back. Urgh to the in-laws... I often have to go through the same thing.
AFU - as I said we have tried DD in the infant sized sposies and they look so huge on her... the newborn size is a much better fit. That is one thing I like about the cloth - they are larger sizes but seem to fit better. I don't know of many almost 3 months olds that are still in newborn size sposies LOL.
We are heading back to Sydney tomorrow after spending time with my sister and looking after my niece. I got a glimpse into life with two and it wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. I took my niece and my DD down to the shops by myself - I was surprised at how easy it was. I got DD out first and put her into the sling and then got niece out and she walked until we got to the trolleys and then she hoped in there... I am sure it wouldn't always be easy but I was imaging all sorts of horrible moments but none eventuated!

Oh dear DD has worms - In her vagina of all places!!! she has been waking up at night, tonight she was srying because her 'front bum' (aka vagina) hurt. Well I took a look, it was all red and inflamed and you could see little pin worms moving near the entrance - YUK.
So first thing tomorrow (on my DS1 birthday no less) we are all taking a trip to the dr. From reading online babies can only have worm medicine if they are over 6mths, so I am not sure what the go there will be. Baz is most likely to been contaiminated if DD is, she is always sticking her fingers in his mouth for him to suck on, despite getting in trouble for it.
ahhh the joys of having kids.
Oh no Misty what a bummer :( Is there any way of checking whether the baby has the worms? He may not need any treatment...fingers crossed!
Thanks Megsmum for the MCN advice - will look into some bamboos for overnight. At the moment we are using some ugly old fitted terries from Scotland that a friend passed on - they sure ain't pretty but by god they're absorbent!!! Once Orla outgrows them I'll get her into the boo's :)
Well my annual climate-change depression has set in about 2 months early this year :( Melbourne is sweltering and it's only november. House bound by heat and no relief overnight cos the mercury barely dips, new veggie seedlings wilting despite being lovingly doused in saved bath water, won't be long before the sky is hazy with smoke again....
Every year I just about manage to convince DP to move back to NZ (despite his protestations that it's 'too cold!' ) then winter returns and we forget about it for another year. Now with a little one to worry about my anxiety has gone up a couple of notches....:cry: At least we'll escape most of february's inferno when we go over to visit my family.....

Wow, its been quiet in here. The bubbies are keeping us very busy.
Can't believe my little girl is already 3 months old. Where did those last three months go? She has grown so much and we are starting to see her personality coming through.
We are going pretty well. I am taking Motilum to hopefully increase my supply. So far it seems to be working but only been on it for a few days.
Still not doing really well with her day sleeps. She is dozing in her rocker at the moment tho. Mornings seem to be her main sleep time. At night she goes to sleep the same time we do and sleeps for around 6 -7 hours which is pretty good. Its really weird how as soon as the lights go out she feels asleep in a matter of minutes. I know I need to get her into a daysleep routine but am a bit scared to do it as I know she will be really upset.
We are now putting her in the Bumbo. It is so convenient to put her in it wherever I am in the house and it is a bit easier on my back too.
Misty - how is DD going? I know that it is recommended that if one family member has them then everyone should be treated.
