    Hey girls!
I've added a few of you to my msn list... You can add me, it's good to talk to others going thru the same thing. I'm rlauchlan@hotmail.com

Omg - last night was absolute mayhem! Jensen started screaming at 4pm and at 8:45. Its gotta be evening colic. His stomach was rock hard and he was wrenching his little legs up. Andrew, on his way home, had stopped in to see his parents. I'd called him and his mother decided she needed to get away from the house (to get away) and come over too. I'm so greatful that she did, it really helped having someone else other than Andrew and myself to calm Jensen. I ended up sending Andrew out to get some Infants Friend from the chemist. It ended up working - but looking back, it seemed to take forever to work. In the end, I think exhaustion won out. Also, I lay with him on the bed, and lay him on his stomach and he seemed to have instant relief, and fell asleep. Despite all this, he still managed to keep his routine of 2 hourly, but dragged it out as long as he could - at one stage, almost 3.5hrs!! At one point I think I panicked coz my body must have realised that 2hours had past and he hadn't woken up yet and woke up myself with a fright to check on him! lol Mothers bodys are amazing works!

I also can't let Jensen cry. Andrew seems to have no problem and replies to me with - "Babies cry. Thats what they do." Thanks. Comforting. Thats not helping.

How do you put your baby down before they fall asleep? Jensen seems to fall asleep at the breast... or in my arms or against my chest. If I put him to bed too early when he seems to be asleep, he wakes up and wont go back. So I have to wait til he's dead to the world, then put him in.

What kind of nappies are you guys using? I want to start using cloth... maybe not exclusively, but at least for some times. ATM tho, we're using Huggies. I had to go out and buy the next size up, infant 4-8kg, coz the newborn ones (to 5kg) don't seem to fit him as well as I thought they should. They seem to leave a nappy mark on his backside - where the seams are to hold everything in. When I weighed him on Wednesday, he was 4.8kg. Friday, he was 4.6kg. Mind you. They were on 2 different scales and he'd only just messed his nappy on the Wednesday.

Do you count how old your baby is by week (eg: born on Saturday, therefore each saturday is a week til you get to 4 =1mth)? or by date? I don't know. By day - Jensen is one month today! If not, he's 1mth on Tuesday.... either way... Where did the month go?? It doesn't feel like I had a baby only a month ago!

For now, I'm off to find things I can sell on Ebay to make some money to spend guilt free!
Hope everybodys well. I'll be back later!

Huggies Newborn & Walker. Emma has only just gotten into the Newborn properly as she finally has a bum. Less Leakages! Sarah makes nappies leak if they are too low on her back. so she is supposedly too light 4 them. I count it by the date bcoz a month is 4 1/2 weeks n if u count by 4 weeks then a year is 13 months (i've confused myself).

Both my girls go down awake. 4 Emma i wait a minimum of 2 minutes 2 go in n settle her if she needs it, but she usually doesnt. Sarah can take 20 minutes or more, but we have dragged out the time b4 we go in gradually so now she's asleep by the time we r ready 2 go in. once the cry changes it gets slightly easier 2 ignore (not much but still...) If there r pauses they r just saying 'I dont wanna go 2 sleep, get me up!' an emotional cry that should never b ignored is more constant.

    Gtg get my hair done!

    Hi girls,

Just poppin in quickly before i got into town for the night. We are going in to Brent's parents who are house sitting for Brents aunty. I am going to have few drinks tonight too. And i might even hit the ol' kareoke(sp??) machine!!

    Whats everyone else got planned?

Rhiannon - Good to hear from you mate. Jensen def sounds like he has evening colic. Poor lil man. Colby normally falls asleep on my boob and i pull her off, burp her then lie her on her stomach too go to sleep. We are also using Huggies Newborn nappies. I don't know how to count Colby's age. Someone told me by the date but that does'nt really work out does it. So i just do it by the day she was born. So that would have made her 6 weeks yesterday.

Ali - Oh poor Sarah. Hope she recovers soon for you.

Neuri - Yes uni is a major thing to take on at the moment, but to be honest i feel like the time is right at the moment. Even though i do have so much else going on. And for some odd reason i just feel like study at the moment. Weird i know!

Kirst - Added you to MSN. Great to see Bailey is growing nicely. I will get Colby weighed next week at the CHN. Can't wait to see how much she has grown!

Shell - Nice to meet you hun.

Hi to everyone else! Sorry if i missed you.

Well i better go and get our gear ready. You have to take the kitchen sink with you when you stay away overnight!

    Hope you are all well...

    Talk tomorrow!
