We went to a tuppaware party yesterday & my boys were so well behaved. Eden was passed around like a netball and after about an hour of that he started getting over it & cried at everyone who looked at him. Poor lil mite was tired. Once I took him back he just cuddled up & sucked his thumb. He's such a cuddly baby. DS1 was never like that.
And cause of the late tuppaware party Eden missed out on his Farex last night, and it didn't matter, he still slept through. Actually, he's still sleeping now. So that's good to know

I've been sick now - can't believe that we have crawlers! And rollers! I think I mentioned this before, but Pip never actually crawled until he was walking, he just rolled everyhwere!
Hoping eveyone's healthy and no more houses of sickness.
Us - moved Will from his cradle to his cot, rearranged the room and it looks good! Plus we went up a teat level (6months plus) and he's stopped spewing after feeds - go figure!
Finally got my internet back!! Very long story.
Hannah has a cold. :cry: She's not sleeping much and is very snotty. I hate snot soo much. She had snot all over her face and DP and I nearly had a fight over who was going to wipe it. We both just hate it so much. Going to give her a little bit of panadol before she goes to bed to bring her temp down.
Crawling!? Holy crap. Hannah's not even rolling. But, she's special. lol.
Not much else has been happening.
Just hope Hannah sleep tonight.
No good Charlotte - have you been using the nose-sucker thingys? They are great for getting the snot out before it hits the face. Fess Little Noses is what it's called. I filled ours with Will the other day, couldn't believe how much snot he had in there!!!

Jules, crikey, no, we are really disorganised. I have started gathering bits and pieces and I really wanted to get stuck in this weekend but had family over and Millie was sick so... gah. We'll actually be there in two weeks' time. EEK!
Kaz, glad Will has stopped chucking! Which bottles do you use? Hope you're feeling better.
Georgi, ooh Tuppaware :) Interesting how different kids can be isn't it? I love cuddlebugs!
Oh EJ, I understand how you feel. The way I found about about my sulphur allergy was a MASSIVE skin reaction... the day of a friend's wedding... in summer... at which I was doing a reading... in a knee-length, spaghetti strapped dress. I felt MISERABLE and could see people looking at me nervously like I had measles or something. Perhaps try a natural therapist, they might be able to suggest something? I have tried accupuncture for allergies before too. But I agree with MadB, I'd be asking for a referral to a dermatologist and allergist (?sp?)
Cathie, hope you and yours are well! Good luck with Charlie and the cereal. DH thinks baby cereal tastes like cardboard :(
MadB I'm glad Miri has checked out okay :) I can understand you feeling paranoid. We've had a rough time with Millie and have been so anxious. Agree with you on the plastic sheeting, we got a muck mat and thank goodness - Millie decided to chipmunk her sweet potato the other night... and then sneezed! ACK!
So, interesting week. Millie was being super clingy, I mean the second I was out of her sight she would start to cry. If I needed to get something from the kitchen I'd have to sing Old MacDonald as soon as I started moving. Thursday night I went out with my mother's group for dinner - it was SO much fun! We had a Lebanese banquet at my favourite restaurant in Parramatta. I carpooled with two others who live in my area and we were giggling and carrying on in the car... felt like big kids :) We had a great time and yeah, EJ, felt like something other than giver of food and wiper of bottom. I LOVE my MG, never thought I'd be into it but it's such a great group of women.
Millie woke up a few times Thursday night/Friday morning, and had such a nasty cough I took her to the GP. Verdict was viral upper respiratory infection (probably from the creche at the gym... d'oh!!!) so nothing but paracetamol for the sore throat. Poor little chook has not been feeding well at all as her nose has been so blocked despite Fess and the faithful snot sucker. I was up with her from 2am yesterday and 4am today. I sat for an hour in the rocking chair with her propped up in the crook of my arm this morning and it occurred to me that that was what Mum used to do with me when my asthma was bad... cue sinking feeling in the stomach. DH got up at 6am and shooed me back to bed, bless him. When Millie woke at 11 I noticed that she was wheezing. Took her to a medical centre, not our usual GP - a 2 hour wait - and he reckons it is viral asthma... which is common, and not necessarily a permanent thing. I mean, I live with chronic asthma and I know that it's not the end of the world, but you wouldn't wish it on your worst enemy, much less your beloved firstborn.
My parents arrived Friday night for Dad's 60th birthday on Saturday. We had a surprise party for him last night, again at a restaurant in Parra. It was nice but I was completely wrecked, not having slept since 2am... couldn't go for a nap as we had family in and out of the house all day.
So all bets are off this week. Which is probably good as I need to start packing! (oh and finish my challenge quilt by the June 1 deadline!)

THey do often hit a spike in separation anxiety at around 6-ish months. Also being sick will make them very, very clingy - only mum will do!

CHARLOTTE - Try having a hot shower with her, but don't put her under it of course. The steam will get all the snot out
We have a tooth! As I knew it was on it's way I have been looking every day & finally it cut. I was quite surprised how good he's been. He did have a couple of days of little sleep, during the day, but he hasn't been crumpy at all. I do believe the necklace is what's keeping the peace.

had such a nice break away, was so nice to have more than 1 day a week with DH home! :dance: he went back to work today and it wasnt as fun getting up to just me and summah :(
was full on travelling with a baby without our usual creature comforts (bouncer, jumperoo etc) but we managed! she did well being pulled in and out of the car all the time!
she has rolled from her front to her back once and DH said she rolled from back to front as well, but i didnt see that one :wall:
no teeth yet, still chewing on anything and everything so thats fun, solids are going well, loves her vegies! isnt so keen on fruit but she will eat it.
better get back to the washing/un-packing/cleaning of the house and ill hopefully keep up now we are home!!!
Pixie - I hope Millie gets better soon. Sounds pretty nasty!
Crumpet - Glad your holiday went OK. Ahhh, I want a holiday. The only time we go away is when Hannah has appointments in Melbourne. Thats not a holiday!!
There's teeth popping up everywhere, it seems!! Hannah still has got nothing but bucket loads of drool. She's had to start wearing a bib constantly because her shirts were getting soaked.
Hannah has rolled from tummy to back. Which, according to physio, is massive. But its only been a few times. She'll catch up eventually. Thats one of the reasons I like being in this group. I like seeing where other bubbas born at the same time (although, not gestation) as Hannah are up to.
No snot-suckers here. DP wanted to use a syringe out of the panadol box..... I didn't think it would work very well, so I'm not using it.
She's a complete snot machine, which is sort of OK because its really (TMI) clear and easy to wipe away. Its not sticky or anything.
I'm letting her sleep for as long as she wants today. She's been in bed for 2 hours at the moment. She went to bed at 5.30 last night. We went to wake her at 9pm to give her a bottle and she never even moved when the light was turned on and the blankets taken off her. So, we just left her and she slept til 6.30 this morning.
I knew it would happen eventually, but I was hoping to make it a bit further through winter (or actually into winter) before Han got sick.
It must b ehard when they're so sick when they're little :hug: DD's only had minor bugs, and DS was 11 months before he got his first cold. He was rotten sick for weeks when first tried him in daycare though. Those sucker things are very handy though!
Little Hannah is doing great! DD has only manged rolling onto her tummy, then she squarks and can't get back!

Georgi, glad the necklace made a difference! I think I'll put it on Millie 24/7 leading up to and during the trip (DH doesn't like her wearing it at night).
Charlotte, Millie is sleeping up a storm today too. Normal routine has gone out the window, and we have gone back to her little bottles, giving her small feeds more often (as she hasn't taken more than 120ml at a feed since about Friday). Hope the snot clears up soon :)
MadB, that's what I'm focusing on right now... better that she get her first 'real' illness before she goes into daycare, build up that immune system... I'm so sure she got this from the gym creche, the girls in MG tend to stay at home if their LO is sick.
So, back to our regular GP this morning after another hellish night. DH stayed home from work with us, which was so good of him. Our GP said they don't usually diagnose asthma before 12 months, and that she has bronchiolitis (which I believe Charlie had recently, Cathie?). We've got an appt with a paed tomorrow morning but from the sound of things we'll just have to ride it out - 5-7 days apparently.
Hope you're all well. Miserable weather here today - pouring with rain almost non-stop. Dreeeeeeary!

As awful as t was getting sick constantly (i think his poor body just never got the chance to recover properly thanks to sick kids not been excluded at that daycare), I'd prefer a 16month old sick than a 6 month old! I hope your babies are well again soon :hug:

PP - yeah charlie had the same as Millie it took him 10 days to get over it. The Dr just told us to keep and eye on his drinking and wees. It can lead into Asthma.
Well Will's snot sorted itself out .. and today he's started coughing :( Really phlegmy cough too :(

PP - I take the necklace off at night too. I forgot one night & the next morning he had marks all in his chest where the beads were pressing in all night. I don't think it was hurting as he slept well all night but I did feel a little bad lol
Wow, those bandana bibs are so cute!!! I've got about 30 bibs on the go at the moment. And heaps more in the cupboard. My sister gave me 40 because she had nearly 100. So not keen to buy any more!!
I'm using just little cotton ones at the moment. Size 00000 (why do bibs come in sizes??) They're very tiny and cute, but thats all she needs.
And then I use the plastic backed ones for meal times. because they don't drool at all, it just rolls straight off!!
Hannah slept from 5.30pm to 5.30am and has only just gone down at 8am. I put her back to bed at 6.30 but she didn't want to sleep.
She's soooo snotty.. lol, blowing massive snot bubbles. Makes me want to gag!!
Have got some Euky Bearub and thats worked sooo well with clearing her nose.
She's just being grumpy. Oh joy.

Barossa Valley was great, prob not a honeymoon destination though. if u like ur wine its a definite must see, according to DH who loves wine, unlike me who hates the stuff! :rofl:

i use euky rub on summah, dont know if its ever really helped but it smells good!
AFU: we have finally settled back into home life again, mind u i dont think ill ever stop folding washing at this rate!
have gotten back into having my groceries delivered, why oh why did i ever stop?!?!?!
