Oh dear PP - I know what you mean by the vomit!!!!! I "had" to buy a toy for Will today as he vomited on it!!!! Almost had to buy a rack of baby clothes too - that owuld a hurt!!!!!

Just watching him on the floor during his tummy time here, he's pretty much arching his whole back and has his arms more or less straight!!!!! Such a clever boy! No idea what weight he is at the moment, I just know that he's grown out of small d'lish and in some clothing is in size 0's, others 00 and some 000. Go figure

EJ - no good on the illness still. I hope she puts on weight

Crumpet - Yay on the layby, I love a good target sale. Don't be too hard on yourself for the other day, we all have days, mine is like MadB's...I get more frustrated by lack of sleep but I have given up getting upset about it, I'll sleep.......ONE DAY. I'm glad you seem to have worked out the issue though, that's great. I haven't got Jacob in swimming lessons as we go away a lot and I hate the idea of paying for lessons we won't be at. But mum and dad have a pool and we've had him in there a few times. I think it's personal preference, just do what you're comfortable with (and Summah of course)

AFU - Haven't posted in a bit, things have been hectic here. I don't even have the energy to get into it.

That's the ticket crumpet I think a big lesson in parenting is submission and letting go. Hard though!

im such a control freak, it took a bit but im feelijg a lot more relaxed about things not going the way i want or expect them to... if she doesnt drink her whole bottle now, meh she will survive and still sleep and then prob make up for it later on!
if she doesnt sleep i dont care, doesnt faze me, but the feeding thing would throw me...

I'm so sorry girls i really haven't been joining in properly and i promise it's not because i don't want to be. I'm still doing a lot of cleaning up here. I thought we were over it and Aidan and Charlie had really grose toilet stops today so there goes another lot of disinfecting and washing and showers and yeahh i'm exhausted i don't know how i'm still going.

Crumpet i feel your frustration and sometimes we let it get the better of us but it doesn't mean we're bad mummas. Sounds like you're a wonderful mumma with a beautiful happy little girl.

Hey guys, sorry I've been missing.
DD had some appointments in Melbourne so we went to Rosebud for the weekend beforehand.

Physio, although a little bit behind, they're very happy with her. She's not lifting her head that much, but its not of a concern yet.
Her head is getting better. From being in NICU so long her head was sooo flat on the sides. From using special cushions its gotten heaps better.

Cardiology was good, too. There's still a very small hole in her heart. Nothing to worry about at all. It was 6mm when she was born and its 2mm now and it appears to still be closing over. 10% of the population have a hole exactly the same, and they don't want to see her again.

Audiology was a bit of a shock. Left ear, fine. Right ear, 50% hearing loss
Thankfully its going to fix itself as its just fluid. They may want to put a grommet in at the end of the year.
So, yet ANOTHER hearing test in a few months time.

Apart from that she's going good. Made it to 4.5kg!! So so excited!

Summah had to have her hearing tested at about 8 weeks and will have it done again at 11 months becasue of the anti b's she was on in SCU...

Crumpet, Millie started 'swimming' at about 14 weeks. I am taking her to lessons, you can see some of the activities we do here. AT this age it just builds water confidence and the aim is to get them used to rolling from front to back and floating on their back if they fall in. My in-laws have a pool, and I am not the most confident swimmer, so for both our sakes I wanted to start her early. It's a lot of fun, and has the added bonus that she conks out for hours afterwards!

She drained it, then, with a massive belch, projectile chucked most of it all over me, all over herself, all over the lounge, all over the floor. Then smiled. I roared with laughter - if you'd told me a year ago I could laugh whilst sitting in a puddle of vomit, I certainly wouldn't have believed it!

i always end up when DH is feeding Summah becasue she is a spewer and she does it when he least expects it and he freaks out!

AFU: well we recieved some shocking news on wednesday....

mum has breast cancer its been caught quite early and looks to be slow growing, she is having a op today to have it cut out, and then in a month starts 4-6 weeks of radiation.....

i was so shocked, i never thought id hear those words from my mum.....

so swimming lessons are on the back burner coz i dare say ill be driving mum to and from treatment and what not....

and yesterday summah had her needles, and was far from impressed! lol.....
she was ok after it, but at 530 she started screaming and didnt stop till 630 when i got her to sleep laying on my tummy....

got her to bed at 730 and she is still asleep now!

My Mum was diagnosed with aggressive bilateral breast cancer in 2005 and I'm proud to say she is now a 6 year survivor. Your Mum will make it, I'm sure. It's so tough when we have to confront our parents' mortality... it signals a real shift in the relationship. I hope she and your whole family get through it alright - you will all need to lean on each other like never before. And if it all gets too much, we're here too

Oh Kaz, at having to buy something Will chucked on. Perhaps that's his strategy... Clever boy with the tummy time! I love how proud of themselves they look when they prop themselves up like that

I almost got carpark rage this afternoon - a woman took the last parents with prams park ahead of me and she didn't have a pram! Or any other mobility issues!! I almost jumped out and had words (I had a sinus headache and was in no mood to be trifled with) but reminded myself in time that it wasn't the safest of shopping centres to confront strangers. As I trundled past the long row of parent carparks there were a lot of cars without babyseats or anything... including a convertible!?!

Rant over. Must go lie down.

OMG that sends me WILD! i had a go at a "cougar" in her merc convertible for taking up parents with prams parking, and you know what she said " oh i was only running in quickly" well i lost my mind and i think its fair to say she wont mess with a mum needing a car park again!

Kazbah - Thank you for the welcome . Must have been the day for it though we had it out the other end. Both boys did really awful ones and thankfully I had just bought new clothes for them so it was off to the change rooms in a big way for explosion 1 & 2!

I feel your pain with the pram park I had someone do that to me, I did get out and rage at them though and they moved their car I was heavily pregnant with no. 2 at the time and didn't feel like walking all the way from the other end of civilisation to get some milk and toilet paper hehehe

A lot has been happening here, got permission to move from the ex and now hes seeking a court injunction to ruin my life, gave all evidence to soliciors that he knew about the move and was happy with it so now the waiting game to see if we can get it sorted before I need to move. Had a burglar last night try and break in to the house via the baby room, was so scary, first time the police have ever been here quickly. Guess hysterical mum screaming down the phone that my baby is in there gets them moving . And my car broke down so Im stuck in the wops with no transport in a high crime area with my cherubs. Fun times!

thanks hun, im doing ok, was in a lot of shock on wendesday when we found out and then thursday but ive processed it all and while it still scares the life out of me, im dealing with it a lot better....

oh god u poor thing! how scary!! im terrified of someone trying to break in when im home alone! my DH rekons im a nut case but i keep the house locked up 24.7 just incase!

AFU: mum is home and seems to be well, she sounded great on the phone when i spoke to her today...

and we have another drama it never rains it pours!

my 5week old nephew is in the royal childrens waiting surgery on his tummy poor little mite had been projectiling everywhere so SIL-to-be took him to ER at the local hospy, they said there was nothing wrong but she wasnt happy so took him to the childrens and it turns out his tummy muscles are pushing his food back up instead of down, so he is waiting for eyehole surgery to cut the muscle away from his stomach....

hopefully thats our 3rd thing and life will return to normal this week!!

MadB - Thanks heaps for the info on weight gains - I feel a lot better. I totally agree, how can they seriously expect those kinds of weight gains?! There is nothing wrong with my boy... he's healthy and happy as. Gosh, what a crappy night you had, here's hoping for more sleep tonight!

EJ - thank you, I was just being a sook. You are definately having a rougher time than what I was! How are things there now? I am so sorry to hear how tough things have been! You just can't catch a break... We've had an increase in zantac too, seems to be helping a lot actually. Glad you didn't delete your fb, we'd definately miss you on there!

Charlotte - Great news on the weight gain! She's doing so well!! Glad to hear the hearing will fix itself.

PP - I'm doing ok thanks, just a bad few days. I am with you on the vomit story, I used to get grossed out by baby spew but now I'm covered in it daily and just don't care haha. DH puts on a song and dance whenever Jacob spews on him and I'm like "ummmm, I get that at least ten times a day, get over it". Hows Miss Millie? It's so funny how one minute they are cracking it and then the next they are happily babbling away Oh I would have been sooooo mad at that woman taking the carpark but I wouldn't have been able to say anything cause I'm a bit of a wuss haha. Hope your sinus headache went quickly!

Kaz - Sounds like Will is growing beautifully! What a clever little man you have!

I miss my family a lot, I've been struggling a lot lately but thankfully after seeing two doctors (so many lousy doctors out here) I have had Jacobs Zantac increased and things seem a lot better. He's been my happy little boy again!! The bad days just seem to make me a lot more homesick. Kind of glad I wasn't there today though as I'm sure you've all heard about the earthquake tremor. DH washed my scooter today and told me to take it for a spin around the block (first time in over twelve months) and yesterday I went for my first ride on the back of his motorbike while one of my friends watched Jacob (only for about five mins - can't quite leave my boy for too long yet!!) DH bought it about two weeks before I found out I was pregnant, talk about crappy timing. So much fun

Scooters are so much fun, so easy to ride too closest thing I can have to a motorbike without a bike license! I grew up on a farm so miss riding bikes thank you, it's nice to have my happy boy back!

Cathie - Welcome back!!! I live about three and a half hours west of Airlie/Hamilton. It's been really beautiful weather here, been able to just sit out under the tree and enjoy the breeze but yesterday it rained ALL day and was so cold....last night we had Jacob in our room in a portacot as his room doesn't have a heater (it's on the list to buy before winter) and we turned our heater on. It was 11 degrees in the lounge this morning, which is cold for us in Autumn. Winter gets down to about 0 or 1 here, not looking forward to it this year with a baby....It's alright when it's just me that I have to dress to keep warm!!

Hope everyone else is well, we're doing good here. Went to the CHN today, Jacob got another raving review, he's put on 65 grams in ten days, she's happy with that and so am I He's been showing off and rolling everywhere, as soon as I put him on his back he tries to roll, whether it's the changetable, the floor, his bed.... he's growing up so fast... I can't leave him on the mat in the lounge unattented anymore as he rolls from one side of the mat to the other and wants to keep going....haha. On the plus side, he's doing great at tiring himself out! so day sleeps are improving all the time...

Geeze Will is being ... chatty / loud! He's been grabbing everything, and at the moment he's protesting going to bed - having a whinge now for about 15 mins, not crying, just making a whingey noise.
