Does she sleep through the farts?
Elise does the same, the farts don't seem to bother her though, she just fusses a little in her sleep, farts then goes back into a deeper sleep, so I am not too worried.
It's more the burp wind pain that annoy Elise, if she can't burp that up then I'll give her the Braurs and she will usually do a huge Barney (simpsons) type burp within a few mins.
I do like the co sleeping as she sleeps better but I don't, I find I wake up more, maybe it's cause I don't move an inch and wake to move, I dunno, but at least I get a bit more sleep with her next to me, she snuggles right into me which is very sweet.

Sararose - so jealous of your sleep.
Elise slept from 1130 til 4am but then wouldn't settle until 530 or 6ish I think it was, blergh.....

LittleL - oh I bet that is gorgeous, Elise will sometimes smile and giggle in her sleep, it's very cute can't wait til she does it when awake.

kitt3n - yeah i have that a lot too. i pat ochre on the back for ages and rub up and down and nothing!! sometimes if i lay him down for a few seconds then put him back on my shoulder he manages to bring one up but that's not always the case. usually if this happens in the night i just end of putting him back into bed. i just don't have the energy in the middle of the night to be walking around patting and rubbing him for hours on end! oh and yes ochre goes cross eyed a lot too. he is having his 6 week check up this friday so i'll ask the doc about it.

ll80 - i will try the brauers trick you mentioned. might save me a heap of time in the night trying to bring up a burp!

Last night Ochre finally did a 4 hour block of sleep! he went down at 9.30pm and woke at 1.40am. now all i have to do is get myself to sleep when he does! And...stop eating chocolate! I'm sure that's affecting him at night as i cut it out yesterday and he slept better. Just have to get rid of all this Christmas chocolate - anyone want it?????

ahh so this is where you all are!! Hello!

Kitt3n- yep Mia is still pretty cross eyed at times, it looks really funny. I think its normal. Sometimes she doesnt burp either, I just put her to bed and then she usually vomits....oh well not much I can do, sometimes she doesnt vomit or burp.

Claire- you poor thing! Try infants friend, really works. Mia loves her food, shes a little pigy and always wants more milk, but I dont let her, because the health nurse said she should only be having 60-90ml each feed.

Sounds like everyone is doing really well. Mia is sleeping ok lately, goes down at 11 or 12 then up at maybe 3/4 then at 7ish. DH has been doing the 3/4 feed which is good. Last night she slept from 1-6am...then til 9.30. was great!

Littlealla- awww thats so sweet! Its hard to get Mia to crack a smile, shes a very serious baby, just like Mummy was! lol. She smiles heaps in her sleep though its sooo gorgeous.

So this is where you all are! I thought it was a bit rude they closed our forums down but I guess they had to. Glad to find you all again

Kitt3n - Maya does the whole cross-eyed thing a lot esp. when we are feeding her lol
Claire - I am using infants friend and have also tried the brauers wind drops. I changed to infants friend because its natural. Maya gets a lot of painful wind that makes her cry alot if I dont get it out. No issues with farts though - she is so loud!

littlealla - awww cute. Maya is still doing gas smiles and thats about it although I think she is looking at me more now.

Maya is sleeping about the same as she always has although we now wake her up to feed her about 30mins before we got to bed and then she tends to sleep until 4am and then wakes up again at 9am roughly. Although last night she slept from 9pm till 5am! awesome (nanny and pop were minding her and didnt get a lot of sleep me thinks lol) We tried to wake her at 10.30pm for a feed and she didnt wake at all even during her nappy change lol

No idea how much maya weights - we had her 6 week check and havnt had her weighted since. Not sure when we are supposed to take her back? an ideas? she was 4.5kg at 6 weeks but she must be over 5kg now. I still have her in newborn huggies as she is long but I think they are getting snug on her. I bought some of the baby beehind nappies but I think she is still too small for them.

Maya does the projectile vomit thing as well but not every feed and sometimes when she is still feeding she does it ie with bottle in mouth! crazy.

Aimee has started smiling this week, just melts my heart. She decided to wake for a 4.30 feed this morning then not settle to 6.30, her birthday present to daddy lol, he was impressed (not). She had slept for 7hrs before hand though. I am over washing, doing at least 2 loads a day due to vomits and toilet training dd1, and Im using disposables! We have moved on from infant nappies to crawlers now. Tony wants takeaway for his b'day dinner, so no cooking tonight yay. I wish my supply would settle still get engorged at times my bb feel bruised and tender today. When Aimee has a long sleep I become a milk waterfall lol. It is so funny when Aimee farts she gets this blissed out look on her face and completely relaxes it is very cute

I had a bath last night with candles and used my bodyshop bath stuff I got from BIL for christmas. I lit candles, had a low alcohol champagne and some chocolate and read my book. I feel like a new woman it was nice to do something for me, Tony gave Aimee a bottle of EBM while i had time out.

We have booked a photographer from apple seed photography to come to the house and take some professional photos of Aimee and the family on the 11th of jan. She took photos when we had Jasmine and I was so haqppy with them. She posts them on her website when they have been taken and photo shopped, I will post the details when she is done. I can't wait last time she was here almost 4hrs and we could feed whenever and it was so relaxed. Anyone else getting professional photos?

kitten and ll Aimee won't burp sometimes but if I put her down without a burp she often gets hiccups which she hates and it takes foreve3r to settle her, very frustrating sometimes we use infacol drops to get up a burp but I don't like using it.
mel-cur - I was going to get Aimee weighed again when she has her 2month
vaccinations, not looking forwardv to that. Sounds like you are doing well we have been out of newborn nappies since about 5 weeks
ll80- we dont normally cosleep but when she won't settle and I bring her into our bed for a sleep I don't sleep as well and wake up stiff because I don't move so she only comes in the bed when I am too exhausted to stay up and try and settle her. The snuggling is really nice though

hope everyone is coping ok and looking after themselves
    take care

    Hi there all

still here - just in the land of wind and constipation - well grunting and crying to be precise - having a really $hite day - but taking my 5 minutes to do a post - although not a very positive one at that.

I'm off to see the paed tomorrow - Zahlia has all of a sudden become very unsettled - she was awake today from 8am or was that 6am and didn't go down until 3pm - all this yelling and grunting is doing my head in - i've got her on every remedy known to man kind so I'm hoping tomorrow will give me some answers that I haven't thought of through my sleep deprived fog.

I'll try and come back with some good news and a happy baby next time I promise - I think it's the formula - my boobs are not gving me enough milk so I have to top her up and now I'm having these issues - far out - only 8.5 weeks to go before she is 12 weeks - that's when all this stops right - lol - wish me luck - lucky for her she is cute

OH and in the mean time need to organise a birthday party for DS - lol

    Hi Ladies,

Oh Dianna I know how you feel. I took Belle to the dr today who thinks she has reflux but I'm not so sure. I'm more inclined to think it's colic but either way neither goes away until usually 4 months - oh the joy! Atleast she is feeding well again - in between bouts of screams lol. Aah she's awake again - sorry better go! Will post again soon.

I think i understand what you are getting at hehe. How many did you buy? I bought the fitted nappies x3 (plus 3 PUL covers and 3 wool) to try them out. I realise I will need a heap more if I want to use them. We change Maya ever time we feed here - do you do the same with cloth? That's a crazy amount of nappies to keep on hand...

DiannaQ - wow thats horrible, I am sore. Hope the GP can help you. Maybe its colic?

    hi everyone

Had a good day today, 6 week check for me, had a pap smear, that HURT! Ive had heaps before and they have never hurt, but this one did, not sure why. Maybe it is tender down there on the cervix? He said my uterus is down to it's original size and cervix is closed. He also said I have a feeling we will see you again within 12 months for the next bub....YIKES! I dont think so! lol.

Is anyone else planning on having another soonish? As in the next year or 2?

Dianna- oh you poor thing how horrible for you and bubby. Does she just scream all day and holding wont help? i cant imagine, must be soooo draining.

Sara- oh that bath sounds delish, Im tempted to go have one now.....oh, but Mia is due for a feed...maybe after that. Great idea! Love the smiles, Mia did the biggest smile today, I had left her with DH while I went shopping for a couple of hours, and when I got home she smiled at me. It really melts your heart! awww.

Claire- whats happening with Belle- does she just scream alot?? Poor thing...and poor you!

I tried the dream feed last night,it worked well! I really wanted to go to bed, but knew she was due for a feed so I just got her out of bed in the dark and gave her a bottle, she drank it then went back to sleep. Im thinking BF is pretty much over now, hardly any milk and she is FF pretty much all the time. Its working for us, but Im sad I cant breastfeed.

    good morning ladies,

must say (probably again?!) I am so happy co sleeping, Matisse goes down sometime between 9:30 - 10:30, kinda wakes for a feed (i pop the boobie in her mouth still laying down), get up to chnge her nappy if needed, then lay back down and she has the other boob, bit of a burp and we are all back to sleep, no cries. she farts in her sleep though, lots!

During the day is a different story though. I think she has an upset tummy at times, not colic but upset tummy? I think Brauers make a tummy relief thing too, might give that a go? She loves her sling, not to hot on the pram though

skye - yeah i'd love to try for another in a year or so..... such a bg gap between dd1 and matisse, dont want that kinda gap again! my milk was kinda chilling out for a few days so I pumped after every feed and am now taking fenugreek, plenty of milk once again. So if you wanted to, maybe you could try that?

mel - yeah you do need quite a few, I have 7 baby beehind bamboos and one hemp (from the trial pack).... but i also have a dozen bum genius (bought on special before the price rise, dont think they are worth the new price tag!), 5 itti bitti's, 3 spunky butts (really love these), 3 magic alls, 2 panda baby, and a few others.... more in bigger sizes too! but i have bought almost all of them on really good specials so it hasnt cost me as much as you would think. I thoroughly reccomend itti's, i have a discount code for them which ends today if you are interested PM me! But yeah you need 2-3 dozen to use full time, its really not that hard, just one extra load of washing a day. Matisse hasnt had any sposies at all ( to me LOL!)

claire - 4 months?! i am thinking Matisse has soemthing up too, our poor lil girls, I would take it all away for them if i could!

dianna - poor lil zahlia, I hope you get some answers from the paed and she manages to relax. GL planning ds's party too - how old is he? might just be easier to do one at lollypops?

sara - i would love to get some photos done, is it expensive? i think i would really love that, asap to get some NB nudie photos in DH's arms (i love those kinds of shots!!)

i'd love to get some cleaners in to give this place a once over, been so neglected, but oh the $$$$

kittt3n - I think the cost was about $600 last time so a bit ex but it was worth it, we used our baby bonus money towards the photos. I think the brauers tummy one is from 6months but the colic relief says it should treat abdo pain and distenstion hope her tummy settles
skye- I tried a dreamfeed last night, didn't seem to make her sleep any longer and she did wake up during the feed but not fully awake iykwim, she settled a lot easier than normal though. I might try again tonight and see If I can get her to have both sides. we will probably try for another but I dont want to have any less than 2years between them but tony is afraid he is getting too old and doesn't want to wait until he is 40 lol I think a few months either way won't make a difference but he has a thing about being 40 with a newborn.
Dianna - I agree with kitten go somewhere for your ds birthday and let them organise, cater and clean up the party it would be worth the investment right now. I hope poor zahlia settles for you, those days are horrible. sometimes an extra bath helps settle Aimee, mabye you could try that until you get tinto the gp?
Clair glad to hear Belle is feeding again, the screaming breaks your heart but it can also be so frustrating too

I have been thinking about getting some photos of me breastfeeding during the photo session, but Im not sure that I would want to hang them on the wall lol, hmm. Deifiniely will get tony with Aimee without his shirt on, I also love those photos kitten

    Hi ladies

Yay we are in a babies thread! I know mine are November but i am crashing the party anyway!

Julia & Owen are 7 week on Friday and growing fast, we had our 6 week check up last week and Owen was 4.9kg and Julia 4.2kg and both 58cm. Feeding every 2 - 3 hours during the day in this qld heat and 3 hours at night with one 5 hour stretch. Some wind issues with Julia and Owen managed to vomit all over me last night but apart from that all going well feeding. They are solely on formula feeding and weaning in 1 week was bloody hard work but much easier to bottle feed twins and have any hope of leaving the house! They seem to be doing well but i am really struggling to get Owen to sleep in the cot during the day, and now the cheeky monkeys are more aware they try and wake each other up which is starting to drive me crazy! We started getting smiles a couple of days ago and Julia is a real talker, mainly to Owen but starting to show more interest in me and DH now. Ok enough of my rambling i will do my best to keep up and post often Love hearing how all the beautiful babies are going.

Oh on the topic of having enother one i am trying to slowely open DH's mind we would love an oopsie baby but the thought of another 5 rounds of IVF and the possibility of more twins is slighly scary... especially for DH. Just loving being a mummy to these two for now

    Happy New Year everyone

    Shan

Hi ladies, I finally have access to the net again now that I'm home, and Jaycen is being an absolute angel. I know he was born on the 23rd, but it's nice to be able to talk to the same people as before instead of having to get to know a whole group of new people.

Jaycen is currently sleeping for around 5 hours at night, from 12-12:30 to 5-5:30. I haven't been able to breastfeed due to inverted nipples making it difficult for him to latch on, so I've been expressing and topping up with formula when he needs it.

He was almost 100 grams above his birthweight when I was allowed out of hospital on sunday, and he's developing a nice little double chin now.

I hope everyone else is getting some sleep and that all the babies are doing well.

Congratulations Jenna on the birth of Jaycen. He looks very cute in your facebook photos, love the camouflage beanie. Hope you are doing well, he looks like a big bubba. Did you do christmas in hospital?
Shannon- sounds like you have a very busy happy house at the moment, lol about them trying to wake each other up! Are they sleeping in the same cot?

seems today that at anyone time jasmine or aimee were crying, one would stop then the other would start. Tony is going to sleep in the back room tonight so I can have a sleep in tomorrow morning and he gets a good night sleep, would love to dtd sometime but by the time the kids are settled we are too tired lol, hopefully we will have a love life again one day

SaraRose - Everyone keeps on saying he looks small, but he was in 3-0's right from the word go lol. He's definately a chubba-bubba though. I spent chirstmas in hospital after an emergency c-sec (his head was too big to get out). I wish I could have been home for christmas, but without the 8+ hours sleep I as getting while he was in the nursery I wouldn't have been able to cope when we did eventually get home.
He'll be getting weighed again on monday by the MCHN, so it will be interesting to see how much he has put on in the last week.
It's been a bit difficult coming to terms with the fact that I needed a c/s, as I had so wanted to have a vaginal birth, but I was told afterwards that my pelvis might be the wrong shape (I have to go in for x-rays after my 6 week check-up to find out if it is abnormally wider at the top than it is at the bottom or if it is a normal shape). If my pelvis is the wrong shape then I'll have to have a c/s next time too

Anyways, Jaycen is sleeping at the moment so I'm going to take advantage of the chance to have a small nap before he wakes up for his next feed.

    Unsettled and Sleep Deprived

    Hi Everyone

I need to let it out. DS was born 12.12.08 3.89kg. He is 3 weeks today and has I have just finished having a cry. He has had all of 2 hours sleep today as well as being up between 2.30am and 4am, along with 5am to 6am. He seems to be up at around the same time every night (2.30-3am) with a belly ache trying to do a poo. He is formula fed and I am trying to find the right one. At the moment we are on Karicare, we've tried s26 the one with the omega 3. If we have no luck will try a different one again. He has just woken up screaming and in pain again after being down for 20 minutes which is the longest he has slept so far since 7am. I am trying Brauer Colic Relief but it is too soon to tell. I am also giving him small amounts of water but he seems to have alot of trouble pooing or at least that's how I see it. I would love any suggestions to help him.

Jenna - just saw the pics of jaycen - he is gorgeous!! wow he really whacked on the weight! did you have a c-section? hope you are recovering well at home now

sara - my dh has been sleeping in the spare room to try and get some sleep too (Ochre is soo noisy and apparently i'm still snoring!) but he just can't get a good solid sleep. So we are all a bit like zombies at the moment. i'm not even thinking of dtd any time soon. i aggravated my scar the other day and it's very sore so the thought of anything going near it makes me cringe! oh the bath sounded lovely! i def need some time out like that!

skye - oh u poor thing i can't believe your doc made u have a pap smear! my doc brought it up with me today and i was waiting for her to say she would do one but she said they do them at 3 months now. i wonder why u had to do it so early? there is no way they are getting that thing near me at the moment hehe!

kitt3n - i am doing a lot of co sleeping now too. ochre seems to sleep better on his tummy and close to me. he still wakes every 2 to 3 hours in the night but at least he goes to sleep a lot quicker. he does this extremely annoying grunting sound that just goes on and on when i put him in his cot...and i'm sure it's his way of getting into bed with me cos it just drives me crazy...cheeky lil thing!

shannon - wow u are doing such a great job - i can't imagine what life would be like with 2 ochres!! i was going to ask the same thing - do they sleep together?

I had Ochre's 6 week check up today. everything is going well - he's now 5.5kgs. i on the other hand have mastitis.....so now on antibiotics. i'm surprised i've lasted this long without getting it. my breast feels like someone has punched it and set it on fire! arrghh!! hope everyone had a great new years! xx
