Skyblue - the only other thing i was going to suggest was the car? Owen does exactly the same thing happy to be held but whingy all day and won't sleep and then crashes at night.
Sararose- the photos sound fantastic! What a great idea.
Big hello to everyone i will try and get on more reguarly, we are starting to get into more of a routine so am finding a little more time lately.
Kids are good have started sleeping from 10pm - 3 or 4 am, DH does the 10pm feed and i do the morning one and then they are back down until 7am. Makes life much more manageable! We have vaccinations on Friday and i am dreading them, has anyone else had theirs? how were the babies afterwards?
As for DTD we have three times now and each time it gets better and better.

Re the vaccinations, they were fine. She was very sleepy after them, Id say look forwad to a sleepy night and the whole day after she slept!
Well todat she just wanted to sleep. Im usually worried I let her sleep too much so I wake her, but today I left her. And she went to bed at 6.45pm!! Yay. Just had a feed and a play at 12 and is now asleep again so Im off to bed before the next waking. Hope you are all well xx

Skye, i really feel for you with Mia not sleeping the other day. Lily did the same thing last night to me, she is struggling with the heat. She slept about 1.5 hours all night and was just screaming unless i was holding her. It got to the point where i had to move her and i downstairs and she fell asleep on my chest and thats where she stayed. It is so hard when they get over tired, i tried putting her in the bath and she loved it, but still she wouldnt go to sleep. The poor little thing was so stuffed today they she has pretty much slept all day, unfortunately i only had a chance to get an hours sleep has we had so much running around today. Unfortunately we dont have air con and poor Lily has a heat rash, it just gets so hot. Night time is the worse as we cant really leave the house.
Has anyone looked or joined a mothers group??
Lily also had the thrush on her tongue, i had never heard of it before. I have been using the drops as well and it is pretty much gone.
Hoping Lily is back into 7hours of sleep tonight, i need it.

Shan - sounds like the twins are going really well :) I hope the needles go well and they don't get grumpy for you.
Nothing much happenig here got Elise weighed yesterday she is 4.570 kg now and her head circ is 37 (33.5 at birth) so she is growing nicely, he didnt measure her length so I might get the tape m easure out myself.
Elise slept 6 hours not last night, night before, was soooooooooooooo good, last night she wouldnt settle til 130am, just wanted to play and party. She woke up at 6am so not too bad but I am a bit bleary eyed today.
She has started to self settle sometimes, which is nice, still very much hit or miss but we'll get there, I've put her down a few times to see if she will nod off on her own and she will if i catch her before she gets too tired.
little sad today, it's 10yrs since my mum died, I wish she was here to see my littlke girls, she would haved loved them so much....

littlelalla - hope your dinner party went well, did you get to eat? Aimee always wants a feed the minute I sit down to eat lol
ll80 - sounds like elise is getting there with her sleeping. Aimee is consistently sleeping 7-8hrs overnight now yay, we are still working on self settling at the moment little way to go yet
shannon - sounds like the twins are doing well, how is it taking them out, we seem to take forever to get organised
anthea - you poor thing I love summer but can't live without airconditioning. The photos are done getting them taken was challenging mainly due to jasmines lack of cooperation (to be expected with a 2yr ild i guess) now we have to wait for her to process them hopefully in about a week they will be ready to view online
41degrees yesterday got the car packed, girls buckled in and found that the battery was dead grr (Id accidently left my door ajar overnight). So girls back inside and tony ran and got his dads baattery pack. Loaded the girls in once again. As if it doesn't take long enough to get ready as it is
Aimee is a cheeky little monkey. I have been putting her in the cot now instead of the bassinette so she gets used to it. Feet to the foot of the cot but on her tummy, yesterday I went to check on her and she had moved up to top corner of the cot with her head against the bars legs under her looking like a little froggie!!! :o She had moved over a metre. Im happy she has been going down for a big sleep at 11am and Jasmine goes down at 12 so I have had some quiet time to do things and relax

heh I think I jinxed myself cause Elise has been up all morning, and got herself overtired and cranky.
Everytime I put her down she wakes up, looks like a cuddle day today...

Hi Ladies,
Hope you're all well although it sounds like everyone is after some much needed sleep.
We've just started Belle on Losec as the dr thinks she has silent reflux. I held out putting her on medication for two weeks as I wasn't convinced it was reflux but she's been in so much pain the last couple of days that I just want to do anything I can to help her. Apparently it takes two weeks to kick in, fingers crossed it is reflux and the meds work.
I've also started a dairy free diet as it's meant to help with reflux and colic. It's sooooo hard - I love my dairy products. And when you look into it, there are so many products that have dairy in them that you would think of. But again, if it helps my little girl then it's all worth it.
Sorry for no personals but hope everyone is coping in the heat!

sararose - the dinner party was great! ochre had 2 big sleeps in the day so i got lots of food prepared and during dinner he sat like a little angel in his rocker (which he never does!) so yes i got to eat!! omg aimee is on the move!! we have to watch o too - his legs are very strong and sometimes i think he's going to pounce off us!
ll80 - hope today hasn't been too hard for you hon. :hug:
claire- good luck with the meds and diet. it is really hard eliminating the things you love the most. i had to eliminate wheat, dairy and sugar when DS 2 had eczema. i lost so much weight but we got through it and his skin cleared up.
kitt3n - o is the same - hates to be put down or left on his own. makes life hard when there are other things to do.
anthea - did lily sleep better for you? i haven't joined a mums group. at the moment i don't know where i would fit it in.....it's hard to get out the door by lunch time!!
i am exhausted today. we had a big bush fire in our town yesterday that got within a few kms of our house! it was touch and go for awhile not knowing whether the wind would change and push the fire towards us. and my dh was off surfing and couldn't get back into town because the road was blocked off! thank goodness no lives were lost and the fire is now under control. scary! our little man is 8 weeks old today! where has that time gone!?!?! xx

wow you guys are SOOO lucky that your litle ones sleep through! Im so tired! The last few days its been a struggle to get her to sleep in the day even!! Arrrghhh :(

well its time for Aimees immunisations today, not looking forward to it and I am taking her to a wedding tomorrow so I hope it doesn't upset her too much, I have baby panadol on hand just incase. I know of a few people with whooping cough at the moment so I am keen to get Aimee vaccinated especiallly since there is no evidence that bf protects against whooping cough unlike other contagious illnesses :rolleyes:. Hopefully it will be more traumatic for me than her
Clair hope the lossec kicks in and Belle feels better soon. Good on you for cutting out dairy, must be very hard
Skye hope mia is sleeping a bit more for you, sounds like she is giving mummy a hard time ;) somehow when they smile it makes it all worth it, hope you get some sleep in when DH is home

hello mumma's!
have to tell you matisse's gorgeous antics of yesterday morning.
i got up early and left dh in bed with her. she woke, but idnt cry - was just staring at daddy so i left her there. dh opened his eyes a bit - so i left them alone.
then she started to wriggle - riggle, wriggle, riggle - half way from where she was to where daddy was. then she stopped and had a nap.
then she riggle, wriggle, riggled again - right up to daddy's chest and started sucking on his nipple!!!!!!!!!!!!
i cant believe she wriggled herself over to where she "needed" to be!!!!
little l - have bought a second sling, now we have a bubzilla and a hab, we'll see how thw zilla goes today. the hab just gets a bit much with constant on/offness!!
sara - good luck with the needles, maybe give her panadol before you go? just still be cautious with the whooping cough - they arent "fully" immunisewd against it till the 4 month shots
skye - how is sleep?
claire - good luck with the reflux hun, thats what i thought matisse had, bloody horrible. i hope the meds work - maybe try a naturopath too?

ktt3n - Matisse is so cute, if aimee did that she'd get a furball lol. I give panadol before vaccinations too. I have had a booster for whooping cough as well to try and protect the girls especially until aimee is fully covered, I got it as a kid despite having the reccomended vaccinations, its not the most effective one and it was horrible constantly coughing
I love my mei tai I am too unco to use my ring sling plus aimee prefers to be upright. I have been using it since she was 1.5 weeks old, its a baby hawk. How do you find the hab? It looks a bit too complicated and time demanding for me lol. Aimee slept in the baby hawk for 2hrs while I shopped yesterday at the target baby sale

Claire - All the best with the meds for reflux. You are so good trying the dairy free diet!! Good luck, your a great mum. Its amazing what we will do for our beautiful little babies
Sara - Wow Aimee sounds like a mover. How long did it take her to move that far??
Laura - you poor thing with the fires!! It must be so scary. Well i really hope they leave you alone!! Try and get some rest - if possible.

Kitten - lol that's so cute, Elise does the same, wriggles and squirms til she is right next to me in bed, she'd get a furball too if she tried to do it to DH.
I've got a peanut shell just for around the house which has come in handy heaps of times but I think Elise is getting a bit long for it in the lying down position, she looks all squashed up in there now, she doesn't mind though so will keep at it when I need it.
Sararose - hopefully Aimee won't be too unsettled for you today/night, Abby used to sleep for a good 24hrs after getting hers done. Did you get them all in one go? I got Abby's a week apart I am thinking I might do the same for Elise.
Claire I hope the Losec works and helps your little girl, so hard when they are in pain and you can't do anything to help them.
laura - so happy the fires missed you, must h ave been so scary especially if your DH couldn't get home, would have freaked me out and YAY on being able to eat at your dinner party lol, amazing what excites us with a newborn lol, I'm happy if I can pee alone :)

Well I would like it if Miss Elise would settle before midnight, starting to do my head in, she seems to have an awake period from about 7pm til midnight 1 am, most of the time she is content to have a cuddle but then starts to get over tired and really grumpy. Last night took me from 10pm til midnight to get her to sleep. One minute she wanted a cuddle then she wanted to be put down, 10 mins later just when she looked like dropping off she wants to be cuddled again, poor thing doesn't know what she wants when she gets like that, I try to get her to sleep before she gets too overtired but not working atm, I can see it improving as she will in the end, self settle and nod off on her own, just with me watching her from my bed, just takes time I guess, I start to get a bit grumpy after 10pm with the whinging, DH does help me though which is really nice to have that support.
Once she does drop off about midnight she will sleep til about 6am though, so no complaints there what so ever, then has a feed and will sleep til about 9-930, so that is allll good, just getting her to sleep which is the troubles. Could be worse though!!

Hello everyone. I just managed to pick myself off the floor and stop having my laughing fit!! My god Kitten that nearly killed me about your DHs nipple! hahaha! DH wanted to know what the hell I was laughing at!
ll80- Mia does that sometimes too! Stays up late then sleeps for a while. Last night though she was asleep by 6.30pm, woke at 1am, then at 8am.....was great but I didnt go to bed til 12! I am silly!But i understand your frustration, some nights she wont sleep until 12 or 1am!
Sara- how did the needles go? The next day after the needles Mia was GREAT, she slept the whole day!! Haha I took Mia to the Target baby sale yesterday too, in the baby bjorn. She slept the whole time too. I bought one of those toy aquariums for the cot, but the remote doesnt work, so now I need to take it back.
Had a great night and day today, she seems to be making up for her sleeplessness. Thats the thing Ive learnt, if she has a bad day or two, then there should be a good day coming!
Just got a letter today saying Mothers group starts next weds, SO NERVOUS. Im not good with big groups!

kitt3n -:ROFL: that's is absolutely hilarious!! matisse is a clever little lass...wrong nipple but right idea!!! i bought myself a karma sling cos i also thought it would be easier to just pop ochre in while i did things around the house but he really didn't like the position - he likes to be upright (like in his Beco butterfly) and i found my shoulder started hurting after only a short period so i returned it. shame tho as they are soo much easier to use than a carrier.
sararose - the baby hawks are gorgeous - i almost bought one. it's roughly the same as the beco but mine has buckle clips instead of ties.
ll80 - thanks hon yeah fires are very harrowing...our town has really bad luck with them. oh a 6 hour block of sleep would be just divine - i can't remember when i had that last! why are boys such horrible little sleepers??
skye - i know how u feel. 8 years ago when i went to my very first one i was soo nervous as well. i was pretty shy and introverted back then - motherhood has made me a lot more confident and outgoing. i still catch up with those mums and most of their kids go to school with DS1.

It seems like forever since I've had the chance to pop on.
Sorry I won't do personals I just wouldn't know where to start :doh:
It's been pretty hectic here - gorgeous Zahlia hates sleep and has her most unsettled time of the day at 4am!! she likes to grunt whilst doing so.
We have her now on formula full time - she is on Novolac for Constipation as she has major issues doing her no.2's and this is the only stuff that seems to be working (knock on wood) there's been a lot of trial and error in between though and I'm still not sure if she doesn't have painful reflux - we've had to give her Mylanta a couple of times and this seems to relax her - however I'm going to watch her and see how she progresses.
She is growing at a rapid rate - we're in the 5kg mark already and the chubber rolls have taken over - she is just gorgeous - but then again I'm a little biased.
Her day sleeps are all over the place and unfortunately there is no set routine - i dare say that has more to do with DS constantly trying to stimulate her however I'm kind of ok with it as long as she is happy to play - sometimes he just loves her a little too much - iykwim - I've since bit the bullet and enrolled him into day care 1 day a week so that Z and I can catch up on sleep and maybe establish some sort of routine - wishful thinking but I've got to hold onto some glimmer of hope - lol
as far as DTD - not a chance to even think about it - DH and I haven't shared a bed since coming home from the hospital - DS is shocking sleeper and DD is a noisey sleeper - right now we're thinking about pitching a tent in the backyard so that we can run away from them both - Note to self next life I'm going to marry a good sleeper - DH suffers from insomnia and looks like it has rubbed off on both the kids - not good for me as I need 8 hours to function :rolleyes:
I'm off to have vaccinations done next week - the day before DS starts daycare and the week before we go to sleep school - I booked in early this time - I need some tips on how to make them all sleep at the same time - lol - otherwise all is OK - no use complaining I keep telling myself this time in our lives will be behind us soon enough and then I'll have teenagers to whinge about.
It's good to see that all the other bubbas are doing so well and reassuring to hear that I'm not the only one having shocking days.
I promise to try and pop in more often
