Hey ladies, just popping by on my way out the door again. Just came from my driving lesson, naturally Mum's car broke down this morning so she couldn't come over and watch Maddy. Had to take her in the car for the lesson but as usual she was an angel and my driving instructor offered to drive her round for a few hours for me! *LOL* Less than two weeks til my exam and I learnt how to reverse parallel park today...was great fun!
Better fly as because Mum has piked on me, I now have to get a taxi to my gym appointment. Am determined not to pike because this is the start to me feeling better about myself, albeit the 'hard' way...hehe I can't wait to do some gym classes!
So sorry to hear that so many little bubbas have been ill...Meg, hope you can get Coco's temperature down soon! Sarajo - any little pointies breaking through the gums yet to help little Abby out a bit? Tiff, how are the twins today...if you're not here at all I'm fearing you've had to take them into the hospital again. Hope that's not the case! Christie - so glad to hear that you & Owen are getting better; hope that your meat desire comes back soon. Did you have M/S with your last pregnancy? Christy - have you been ill again? That's no good babe, hope things are getting better with little Matilda..she is such a sweet little hting.
Leanne, Melly, Dani, Sami, Kate, Jillian, Bec & all of the lovely ladies that I have inevitably momentarily forgotten the names of; hope you are all also having a great day!
Speak to you all later...off to get the sausage casserole on in the SC.
Hi! We're off to another Dr. I want more answers. The test came back saying she didn't have a UTI, so I want to know what's going on. This afternoon her temp went right up again, it's really awful. I have dosed her up again and for the moment, she is babbling.
Anyway, off to Doc's will come back on later.
I still feel sick too, I've had this cough/cold thing for 2 weeks now, it just won't budge. Im having heaps of vitamins, garlic etc but not going....gggrrr
how's everyone else doing? Tiggy, I so hope you're not at the hospital .
xoxo
Meg, you poor chook. I think you're right....if Coco's temperature is still high (and it's been more than 48 hours), then I'd be taking her back to the GP, if not up to the hospital. I know babies get sick, but a high temperature over an extended length of time obviously has a cause. Is she still feeding, getting enough fluids?
Well I'm back from joining my local Zest gym. So excited about starting there in the next few days. They have the latest high tech gear and they're not ultra busy so I'll be able to put Maddy into their child care area for 2 hours and get some exercise in. Cant wait to be a skinny-mini like you Meg! hehe
Good on you with the gym Beck!!! I have total admiration for you. Mind you, I quite like the gym and once you're into it, it's a bit addictive. So great having childcare too, I used to go when tilly was little and put her in the creche.
Been to Doc, he said it's a throat infection. Poor bubba probably has what I've got. I've had sore throat on and off for 10 days, certainly hope coco's doesn't last that long. Anyway, he said no antibiotics which is a relief.
gotta run, coco is on my lap and kicking the keyboard xoxo
Well, that's got to be the worst night I've had with any child. Coco was up at 7.30pm, 9pm, midnight-4am and then 6am. She screamed for four hours and I could not console her for the life of me. I gather her throat was sore. She had a temp too. The poor thing, but I feel sorry for myself now. I am 100% exhausted.
Tim is even having the day off so I can have a rest (I would think it's actually so he can rest), as I have my course tonight and can't miss it.
Better go, have to get tilly ready and then put coco to bed. hope everyone is doing alot better than us. xoxo
Meg - sorry to hear that you had such an awful night with Coco - Brodie wasn't much better and I feel disgusting....he's driving me bonkers - the constant whining is enough to drive you nuts
Hey just out of curiosity - you know how you've stopped Dairy and Wheat with Coco - what do you feed her for Breakfast?? also maybe a dumb question but do Oats fall under this category - Julie in Jan thread asked the same question and i really don't know?? - just interested to see what you're giving gorgeous little Coco as an alternative.
thanks in advance - hope you all get better soon and that this dreaded flu/cold/sore throat finally leaves your home - if it's any concellation - my sister has had sick kids every 2 weeks right through winter - i feel for her also.
Hi Dianna! I haven't actually cut out wheat, as we discovered it was dairy, but to be honest, i don't give her much wheat at all if any. Oats is not wheat, so yes that's what I give her for breakky, the organic bellamy baby oats and just add fruit. I very rarely give her pasta, but did give her some rice and corn pasta, again no wheat. And I very rarely give her a rusk..which is wheat. She loves the baby oats, and I just alternate fruit (usually apple and pear...how boring)!!
Beck, so cute about maddy. Coco learnt to wave a couple of weeks ago, and I swear she says hello when she waves. Very cute!
Im meant to be having a mentoring session today for my counselling course and am trying to cancel because of coco, but the woman is not answering and I know she said that if we don't turn up we have to pay for the session....which I willNOT do, but do you think she'd be that mean? Just wish she'd ring.
xoxo
Oh Meg so sorry about Coco's throat. I am glad they did figure out what is wrong though! Can you give her an ice cube inside a cloth so she can suck on it? Poor thing, and poor you too! Sounds like such a bummer of a night! I think if that woman makes you pay she is terribly mean mean mean! Hopefully she will be understanding!
Beck Yay on Maddy! She is learning new tricks everyday! Abby started waving bye bye but has yet to do hello to Daddy!
Had a badddd day today. I had a tooth that had a root canal and for the last couple of days it has been hurting sooo bad, and last night it was so bad I cried!! That is a big deal since I havent cried for 5 months! So today went to the dentist but I was in such pain Don had to stay home to drive me. It was a good thing because the brakes went out on the truck and we barely made it to the dentist. Don took the truck to the mechanic and got a rental car while the dentist referred me to a specialist. Here the tooth had more than one canal and needed another emergency root canal Can you say OUCH?! So anyway that was our day! On the plus side, Abby has been an absolute angel all day! She is such a good girl when I need her to be!
Hope your babies are doing well, Tiff! Have a good day all!
Sarajo, OUCH about the tooth, I hope it all settles down soon. Sounds like a bit of a comedy of errors!! At least Abby was good, that's something!!
Tiggy I so hope everything is ok with the twins. Thinking of you.
coco is currently having fun with Tim and Tilly (just hope it lasts). HOpefully tonight will NOT be a repeat of last night. I hope the stupid fever is gone for good.
Beck, forgot to say the other day that Tilly and tim were fine after their run in. They often act like kids and it's damn hard work. Like right now, tim is home and tilly just got home and he really doesn't know how to handle her.
Anyway, hope all is well with everyone. I have my course tonight, will talk tomorrow
xoxox
hi girls,
Thanks for worrying about us. We actually have been at home, no hospital although, the doctor did try to put us in today but I said we could cope at home.
Ivy and Noah have been crying and crying and my head and heart hurt from listening to it day in and day out but today, I think they are picking up a little and I have started to alternate Panadol and Neurofen and it seems to be doing the trick. They are actually asleep for the first time in three days, without crying in their sleep.
It's a big relief.
Meg, sorry that Coco is having such a rough time of it with her throat. Poor little mite and poor you too.
Bec, how cute for Maddy to be waving. I wish mine would do SOMETHING.
Sarajo, sorry that you are hurting too. I hope you feel better soon.
I was up all night at the hospital because of mine. The bit where my tooth had been taken out last week was healing, but the bit covering the nerves came off and I was in agony, I swear it felt like the whole left side of my head was going to explode. So the ex called the hospital and I got a nerve block put in (only lasted an hour!), was given a local anaesthetic to rub on it and some pain relief. We all got home at 4am, Logan charmed all the people in the hospital LOL, and I think I got about 1½hours sleep before I had to get up for Uni. Everyone said I shouldn't have gone, but I didn't want to miss any of my classes. I got my assignment back today and got 75%, a Distinction, yay.
Sorry, have to go, dinners ready. Will hopefully be back later
Hello girls! I've been sick with PG third trimester fun LOL... so just those everyday pains & yuck that goes with being enormous . Matilda has also decided at the same time that sleep is for wimps again and takes 2 hours to settle at night & is up between 1-4am. Well 7 out of the last 10 nights have been like that. Last night it only too 1 hour to settle her & she was only up for 30 minutes, so hoping to take a turn for the better now. And she is just over 2.... who would've thought.
Wow it really sounds like everyone is having a rough time. Marnie is not sick but has only now started to settle at night - she only wakes up twice (fingers crossed) a night and it really only takes 10 minutes to settle so I should be feeling very lucky - i hope Matilda sleeps better tonight Christy.
Anyway - i thought I might share Marnie's achievement for the day - I taught her to click her tongue - and she has been doing it ever since - i'll probably regret it by the end of the week. She is also waving - at everyone but her mum and dad but that's the way of it I suppose.
I hope everyone has a better night tonight and your babies are feeling better.
Oh I just saw your distinction comment! Well done Melly01

Renee, Thank you! Wow on Marnie clicking her tongue and waving. She sounds so clever.
Tiff, So sorry to hear about the rough time you and your little ones are having. I'm glad things have picked up a little, I hope they continue to improve.
