Missy what time is your doctors appointment tomorrow? I agree with the girls about the bottle in bed...as long as he isnt falling asleep with it in his mouth, I think there is nothing wrong with it. Any the no more bottles thing, I think that is a personal choice. I am doing it for Abby because I think it will be easier now than later, but Abby didnt mind at all when I started taking them away. She really only gets one at bedtime now, and sometimes one mid-morning. If she did give me a hard time about taking them away she might still have her bottles all day too!
Well, after a full day of fussy Abby I though she was miserable all day because of her cold, and here WE HAVE TOOTH #3!! FINALLY! It has just started breaking through! I thought I would check as her little cheeks were soooo red last night! I was right!

Cheekymonkey Gem sounds like she is the same size as Abby! She goes to the docs today so we'll see how much she weighs! WOW just realized she is exactly 11 months today!!

Just to my Dad's for a few days while John is away in Sydney. Have never felt safe home alone in the house without him there.
BTW - I weighed Maddy on the electronic scales at home today and she is 8.7kgs. :) (With a thin romper suit on)

Sarajo, yey for Abbys teeth!! We are just breaking number 6 and I CANT WAIT, as she was awake in pain for hours last night (well awake about once an hour for a few minutes...nightmare). Anyway, Im assuming its' this tooth that just hasn't broken through. I think it might be here today looked very close yesterday. Infact I thought it was through, which would explain the pain if its' going up and down.
Missy hope you're doing ok. Alot of the early childhood nurses love to preach and do it based solely on their opinion, so you get so many different opinions (bit like breastfeeding in hospital) and it's wrong, they; should stick to the same advice (and make it GOOD advice).

Hi all. OMG you guys are wonderful. I have never spoken to ppl I didnt know about personal stuff and Im so glad I was invited to come and join the Dec bubs.
I havent given a bottle to Callum since Tuesday and oh boy its a struggle to get him to have a 100 mls ( thats the least he can have) as he just doesnt want it that way. Also he is teething big time. He puts his fingers in his mouth and starts to cry. Then I start crying as he looks at me as if to say mummy cant you do some thing. It just breaks my heart and he just winges all the time.
Well yesterday this is what he had all day. I feel its to much but he is eating it all.
BFast: 1 weetbix and 1 toast put milk in the cup that took 45mins to get him to have it.
MTea: slice of mango, slice of apricot and 3 grapes.
Lch: 1 s/wich, yog and fruit and 100mls of milk. That did take as long this time.
Atea: crusket with vegimite and some pears.
Din: vegies and chick, yog and then cup of milk but he didnt have it all.
He is just upset all the time. I think at least im going to give him night bottle but just try no to give it in bed as he wakes in the night for another one and I dont want to keep getting up to give him one.
First night was hell. Cant remember how many times I got up but I didnt give in. I just gave him cuddles and he went back to sleep. last night he woke at 8.30 but then went back to sleep till 5.30 this morning. That was better and Im up at that time cooking Melissa's b/fast so they had b/fast together at 6.
My appointment is at 10.30am and a girlfriend is coming with me. I probably will have to go back later to get the scans but I will try to see if anyone can give me alittle info.
Im abit of a mess as im tired and upset. I cry at the drop of a hat. Im depressed and emotional but I think Im doing ok concidering what the nurse said.
My mum told me I am a wonderful mother as she would know cause Melissa and I lived with mum from the age of 5 weeks that is Melissa of cause till 18 months. So she knows how good I am. I was 22 then and she told me Im evern a better mum with Callum. DH is always telling how good I am so that is nice. Got 6 white roses from DH last night when he got home to cheer me up. Was lovely.
Im trying not to worry about Callums head at the moment and just wait and see what the x-ray says. ppl have also told me that the op is only little and the kids are back to their selves in no time.
Ok will let you know how we go.
oh and I saw westlife too on sunrise and thought oh that lady on BB. Sorry at the time couldnt rememeber the name.*blushes*.

Missy, Im all for the night bottle. Seriously, give him the bottle if youprefer, it is fine. I will be giving coco a morn and night bottle for as long as she wants, I find it very comforting for them

Ivy and Noah are still having up to four bottles a day, I don't feel bad, that's just the way it goes. You shouldn't feel bad for wanting to give your baby a bottle. My girls didn't give up their bottles until around three. Just do what is right for you and your little man.
Missy good luck with the XRays today! Let us know the results! Sorry so much problems with feeding. I think his day sounded like a wonderful food day! I say keep the night bottle too!
I hope it is Coco's teeth coming in to explain her fussiness! I hope she isnt getting sick!
Tiff The doc today said 4 bottles a day is still fine btw. I guess we should just let the babies tell us when they are ready anyhow, right? I think I am going to put Abby's breastmilk in cups now except for the night bottle. She just doesnt seem to mind cups durring the day at all!
Abby just got back from the doc and it seems 4 teeth are cvoming in at the same time, so that's numbers 3-6 all at once! Poor babe! Also she has an ear infection, and is underweight.
<sigh>
She weighed 8.164 kg at her 9 month check-up and now only weighs 8.315 kg!!! I almost cried when she told me how much she didnt gain. She eats solids sooo well, I just dont know why she isnt gaining. It could be partly the diarreah last week, but the doc said she should still be getting about 30 oz od breastmilk a day. I will run out of my frozen supply in no time then. After that, it is on to cow's milk. She was only getting 8-16 oz of milk, so I feel like I have been starving my baby. Well, now I know. I must have misunderstood something at the last appointment, because I thought what I was doing was right. She doesnt look like she is wasting away. This whole feeding adjustment is HARD!!

Wooohooo everything is great. Although both fantenolle and ridge are closed the x-ray said it was all normal. Im soooooo happy. I had to wait for the results so a girl friend, Callum and I went for lunch. Callum had a vegi s/w and some of my spinish and cheese pide and lots of water and when we got home decided he wanted 2 yogs. Piggy. So then because he was so good and I felt happy I though stuff it im going to give him a bottle. Well he had 20 mls and didnt want anymore. *that would be right* little bugger. He is sound asleep now.

Im sorry you didnt like the weight Abi had put on but im going to say what you said to me, YOur a wonderful mother and there could be lots of reasons. Could be that she was sick or just thats she is on the move. Chin up hun.
Ive also decided that im not going back to that nurse anymore and if I need to keep getting Callums head measured then ill go to the doc. Im going to feed him like she said but just going to keep giving him his bottles.
Well I might take this chance and go have a sleep too.

HUGS Sarajo :hug: Abby looks like such a happy baby! She has had a rough time and been sick quite a bit, so thats probably why she didnt gain much weight. You certainly didnt do anything wrong! If it helps any, Im confused as anything at the moment about the feeding LOL! Im letting Jasmine lead, and we havent exactly got the pattern down yet, but its usually the same. We have around 3 bottles (breakfast, lunch and bedtime) each of them 260ml (9oz) I also give her a bottle of water with a straw and she just grabs that and drinks that throughout the day whenever she wants it. I just always leave it somewhere she can get hold of it, and I do fill it up atleast once more per day! As for solids, well lets just say that if anyone is eating, Jasmine is having some too. She will come and stand right in front of you, lean in and open her mouth if you are eating. :cryinglaugh: I cant really offer any better advice than the Doctor of course, but I think you are a really great mother, and you are doing everything right. Im sure if Abby hadnt been so sick alot of the time, then she would have put on more weight than that! I hope her ear infection clears up very soon!
Missy That was nice of your DH to bring you flowers!!! You are a great mother, you can see it in both of your childrens happy faces! Bugger that nurse, especially for her making you doubt yourself! Im happy to hear you are going back to giving Callum a night bottle. I almost cried too hearing that he put his little fingers in his mouth! It is just a comfort thing for them. The bottle he wakes for during the night, is probably just a habit for him, he probably doesnt need that one, but the one before bedtime that puts him to sleep is definitely a good one. I just changed this part because I saw you posted when I already did. I originally asked if you gave Callum any water, because of the need for fluids, but of course you do. YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY for the good results! Im so happy for you!!!!!!!! Yep I wouldnt go back to that nurse either. The Doctor will keep a closer eye out anyway, and not be so rude! Im SOOOOOOO happy for you and your good results. Thats excellent news!!!
I took Jasmine to the Doctors late last night as she has a rash in the small of her back. I assumed it was a heat rash, but thought best just to check. And yeah she has a heat rash! She has a tiny bit on her elbows and inside her thighs. Poor thing. It didnt bother her at all (of course because nothing ever does lol), but it bothered me! Now I just have to put a cream on her 3 times a day. The Doctor was one Ive never seen before, and he was sooooo good. Jasmine hasnt been to a Doctor for such a long time. He checked her out completely! She was giggling and grabbing his stethescope the whole time. Even when he was sticking things in her ears and mouth! Anyway I dont think she has been weighed since her 6 month injections.... but she weighs 10.26kg!
Anyway Im running late for Xmas shopping LOL I have to run but will be back tonight!!!!

A gain is a gain and what you are doing is right. Is Abby unsettled? Is she crying all the time? No. Aside from her being unwell she is her normal self. My understanding is, once they get mobile they slow down in weight gain anyway.
You are doing a fantastic job! Her eyes are bright, her skin is clear, pink and gorgeous.
She looks like a beautiful healthy little cherub to me.
When Noah and Ivy had gastro, Noah lost a kg and Ivy lost almost 2! So, if she has lost, then the virus is probably the culprit.
Poor Abby with all those teeth though! Whoever said teething didn't hurt mustn't have had babies.
Awwww bugger I cant go to sleep now. Geee just when I tired and feel like sleeping I cant. I think Im to excited.
Hi Kate, Yes as you would have seen I do try and give him or offer him drinks of water every 15 mins and usually he will have a sip. I know how important it is for children to have water during the day and with the heat we are getting, I measure how much he is having so I know. Do you hate that when your posting and all of a sudden you finish and check and see that some one has beaten you to it. Then you have to go and edit it...lol Yes im going to keep giving him his bottles and just feed him what she says to. I girlfriend also goes to her but doesnt tell her alot and just takes in what she says so she can tell me with out me going and getting hammered from her. Yes its wonderful news about Callum. Im so pleased. I guess because he is IVF im alittle worried that some thing hasnt formed properly or some thing is going to go wrong. All I know is I love him so so much. He is brought me and DH such joy. Im scared and I tend to be abit on the neg side but im trying to get over that.
Tiff I know, its great that all is ok....I just dont know what I would have done if I didnt have here and you ladies to talk to. Thankyou!!!

No Ivy and Noah are fraternal twins and so are my first set. My DH jokes that I throw off two eggs once every ten years!
Yes, I DO love kids. I love every stage of them, even though sometimes it's challenging! If I could have another baby I would.
Wow, You have alot of kiddies. Awww that is beautiful. Im happy for you. DH and I are going to try the IVF again next year. Im very excited about that too. Id have another 2 if I could nat but I cant so it up to One more cycle of IVF and hopeing it works as we would love to have another!!!
Tiff. I remember reading about your little angle William..That was so sad but beautiful at the same time. William was the babie that was born then you took it outside and then he passed, is that right. Im going to look again. Im sure it was. Im sorry for your loss. But what you did was beautiful. *hugs*!!!!

Kate have fun shopping! That is tomorrow for me! In the US, they call the friday after Thanksgiving BLACK FRIDAY because all the stores have crazy sales and everyone goes shopping! It is a mob, and a lot of people wont go out on that day, but it is tradition with my family! I love seeing all the stores all lit up for Christmas!
Thank you all for your support on Abbys weight! I know, Missy, I was just telling you about how not to worry about Callum's weight and then here I am all worried about Abby! I guess it is just easier to see from an outside point of view, so I really appreciate to hear what y'all think! I gave abby her breastmilk in a cup this morning, and she loved it, so that is good!

Sarajo I know what you mean. But it is hard. You want your kids to grow up strong and healthy and when ppl say thats not enough weight of cause your going to worry. Im not going to worry anymore. Callum looks healthy and as long as he puts on weight well thats good.

Well I gave Callum a bottle before bed last night, we went into his room and I sat on the rocking chair and he let me give it to him. He also slept through and woke up at 6.10am. So that was better then 5.15 or .30 So Im very happy. He had 1 1/2 weetbix and 1/2 toast. Drank most of his milk but left some. Ive just put him down. When he wakes up we going to do the rest of xmas shopping to. I love christmas.

All my kids bring me joy and I will keep my fingers crossed for your last transfer, will it be a blastocyst transfer or a 3-5 cell? Anyway, good luck, I'll be keeping everything crossed for you next year. Callum is a cutie too, sad that we feel guilty for simple pleasures like five minutes under the sprinkler and spending $12 on bananas!
We are off to the opthalmologist today, to have Ivy and Noah's eyes checked. THe last time we went he said Ivy was short sighted, so this check is with a view to her needing glasses. Poor little mite, I hope she doesn't need them yet.

I think we got our wires crossed. I have the blastie transfered and that was the one that ended up being ectopic. And also that was the last one. DH and I are doing the whole cycle again next year. Im sure I will get another pg's out of it. well I hope.
Good luck today. Melissa my daughter ended up having glasses. She had a swint. Needed it operated on when she was 18 months and then had glasses. Had to patch the good eye to make the bad eye stronger. Patched for 2 years. Poor little thing. Then had to do some when she was in school. She hated it as all the kids made fun of her. She is fine now. She only wears when in class, on the computer, watching tv and playing game boys xbox etc. She is meant to wear then all the time but she said she is fine. We are going to get contacts as this is the only way I will be able to get her to wear them more. She is almost 13 and well the way you look is a big thing for her.
They make very cute glasses for kids.

Thanks for telling me about Melissa. Two of my other girls had to have glasses but not until they were older and for stigma and long sightedness, not short sightedness. The eldest of them doesn't have to wear them anymore and the little girl, Lily only wears them when she remembers or I hassle her too much!

Just running through and then back to Dad's place. Is anyone else's bub eating up a storm and having more day sleeps than normal? Maddy's so much more active these days, alert and checking everything out. I noticed with the season heating up, she's now more happily going down for 2 day naps instead of fighting me for hours.

Just got back from shopping. Oh Boy I still didnt get all I wanted. Callum was abit unsettled, and didnt help. I had some photos taken of Callum in a santa's out fit but dont get them till the 15th dec. He looked so cute. Will put them on when I get them. So how has everyones day been. I love looking at all the photos of the kids on here. I love looking at all types of photos doesnt really matter what they are. You can tell alot by looking at photos.
