Well, Natalie's eye cleared up just with some home-made saline over 24 hours. Dr said conjunctivitis is really common in babies because they rub their eyes a lot and accidently stick things in there. The scratches get infected, etc, etc. Anyway, I'm pleased its all gone now.
Meanwhile, Natalie's self-settling for day sleeps has gone out the window  I think I just have to resign myself to the fact that she's not going to sleep 4 hours in a row until she's 'developmentally ready'... whenever that may be... or until I wean her off night feeds (which would involve CC). I just can't do that to her yet because I believe she is actually hungry through the night, for the most part, and there's no point trying to wean her off *some* night feeds, KWIM?
Anyone else got eczema? Natty's got it on her tummy and chest :( I never had it so I've never experienced how nasty it can be.
-
Charly has some eczema, I suffer from a lot of dry skin in winter & DH has eczema when he was a baby.
Know what you mean about the sleep, been trying to get Charly to sleep without BF at night is taking hours. She wakes has I put in bed and we have to start again, tried leaving her in the cot just cry and cry, at least in my arms she is stop and start.
Anyone tried the live chat, not something I have ever been involve in but I will give it a go.
-
Aw, gorgeous new photo of Charly :)
Yeah, same here about the cuddling. Last night I tried to resettle Natalie for half an hour and she'd settle for a while in my arms, then suddenly remember she wanted to be awake, so would give a half-hearted cry. Ah, well. Got to get some perspective on things... It's not forever, is it.
No, I haven't tried the live chat just yet... I get distracted from my posting too much (Natalie or the telly or food or DH or whatever) so I think I'd be pretty cr@p at it... Too slow ;)
-
I'm sure I will be to slow as well, takes me forever to post something here.
-
The doctor said on her last appointment she had slight eczema on her cheeks so i have been putting some sorbolene cream on them daily and they are better.
I'm the same as you Amy with the chat, I get distracted so quickly. I used to chat a bit on msn and stuff but since Maya came along I haven't been on, just don't find that long period where I know I won't get distractions or want to run off and do something. But I might have a looksy now and then and if I see one of you guys in there I will pop in. Each time I have gone in there I didn't know any of the names so didn't want to intrude.
Wheres em and everyone else lately????? helloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, where are youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu:p

Im here, not that I have been contributing much lately, have been having so much trouble with my 15 y/o who has now moved to WA with his idiotic father, so I'm a bit *sigh* i dunno how I feel.
I think Angel has asthma, she is coughing & wheezing, same symptoms Zaccie gets. Not happy.
Fatty has a tooth & is saying dada & finally has been rolling over again, she must of forgotten how lol
& she is 2 weeks over due for her 6 month needles, ah she hasn't been well enough lately.
-
Hey Jo. Sorry to hear that things are so crappy at the mo. Oh, how awful about the asthma. My neices and nephews (and brother) have it and it is just yucko. Poor sausage. Good on her for rolling again... we have been trying to encourage Natty to roll on the advice of the MCHN but she's just not interested, LOL. Lazy thing... takes after her mother ;)
Tried the chatroom last night... It was a bit confusing, but fun!

Hi ladies.
Angel has the ruddy chest infection back again
She got weighed too, omg 9kgs !!
So still no 6 month needles by the time she is better it will be 7 month needles.
-
Whahey, good one Angel - 9kg. Good job. Ah, such a bugger about the chest infection. Nevermind about the needles... they will be there for when she's better. Didn't say anything about Dylan because I don't want to stick my nose in, Jo. But its not that I don't care. If you feel like you want to offload anything, please do. I have a lot less parenting experience than you, but I can listen (well, read) just fine :) and we're all here for you if you need to talk.
Liz, had fun in the lounge this arvo! Is anyone going to chat about babies at 8:30pm in the baby room tonight?
Well, my girl has made a sterling effort with sleeping today... She's been catching up, I think ;) (This morning she was awake for about an hour from 4:30am, just chatting away. I ended up resettling her by giving her cuddles because she was keeping me awake!) Anyway, a big nap this morning, then a big nap this afternoon and then she was rubbing her eyes like crazy, so she's already in bed! She has been chatting but... I *think* she's asleep now... Wowee, I hope the 'sleep begets sleep' principle works for us tonight - I don't really want to be up with a baby who's keen for a party in the wee hours, LOL.
-
Don't worry about it Amy, it's alright, it is a hard subject as it is, he'll come home soon, well I hope so, running away from his trouble isn't gonna solve anything, it's all gonna bite him in the bum soon enough.
Had to giggle about playing in the wee hours, Angel has done that for the last 2 nights, gotta laugh & yes I agree it does catch up tp them too! he he he babies are so wonderful.
-
Storm - sorry to hear about your son, he will work out what he's missing out on not being with you, noone can fill the position of a mum;)
Poor little Angel:( hugs coming her way from Maya and myself:hug:
Amy - good to hear your nights are getting better! Least its a happy chatter and not crying in those early hours:)
Well I didnt have a good day yesterday, my Nan passed away in the early hours of the morning, doctors aren't sure what caused it. Miss her soooo much:cry:
Maya woke up at 1.30am last night crying uncontrollably, she has NEVER done that, not even as a newborn, I had to get her out of her cot and put her on my chest, she went to sleep so I put her back in her cot and she woke up and started crying again, so she slept with us for the rest of the night. I was waking up constantly, think she was picking up on my mood and vibes. Hopefully I will get some sleep tonight.
