Aw, Lauren... Noah just lurves you most
That's so cute about blowing kisses, Chantal - how gorgeous.
Linz and Charly'smum, hope those colds are getting better. (And Charly's finger... keep us posted. Hope Charly goes well for your mum tomorrow )
Liz, good that you've had some better nights.
Yes, it is the sleep - its all about the sleep, LOL. If she were a happier baby through the day, I don't think I'd care so much. I know how lovely she can be cause we have had some really good days where she has beautiful big naps and she smiles and sings and laughs and its just beautiful. Unfortunately, they don't come round all that often. And I can't see any rhyme or reason to her night waking. She's all over the place. Earlier in the week I had two nights where I got 5 hours in a row. Last night, she woke 3 times before 4am, then stayed awake until 5:30am. She was happy to entertain herself for the most part, but I laid down on the lounge with the monitor on so as not to disturb DH (one of us may as well get a good sleep), then at about 5 the crying started. SIGH. I'm just tired.
Anyway, the solids are starting to pick up finally - there's a part of me that really hopes solids will make a difference to her sleeping... even though I know the chance is extremely remote. Ah well, you gotta live in hope
We are going away on Thursday until Monday. Down south, staying in a lighthouse cottage with my mum and dad and FIL. Its going to be fairly squeezy, and all i could think this morning was she'd better not pull a stunt like that on the weekend - I'll have nowhere to run away to! LOL. The good thing will be that during the daytime, I'll have lots of willing hands to take Natalie away and I can read a book or have naps. Yay.

Hi Amy, you know your family may wear her out and she will sleep right through

Thanks for the meaning of SO, I say DP for Dear Partner, we aren't married either but have been together for 14 years so I see us as married but without the piece of paper.

Maya is definitely sleeping more, I took notice of it today, she woke at 7.30am then napped for about an hour around 11am then slept for around 3 hours at 3pm. I had to go in and wake her up as I was worried she wouldn't sleep tonight but she is back to sleep for the rest of the night now. I'm putting it down to how active she is now, she is crawling everywhere, eats more solids and is teething, so whinges a bit more than usual, which can be tiring. Before she was doing 3 short naps during the day.

Days are so busy now with the solids, its like going back to when they were newborns and feeding them every 2hrs. I'm still finding it hard to control her feeds when out and about, especially when I am with someone as I don't want to inconvenience them by having to stop while I feed so sometimes I cross my fingers and hope Maya can last till we get home. Oh well, I will work it out sooner or later.

Oh yay for the sleeping! They do say that when they start crawlig they tire themselves out and sleep better. Of course Noah's not going to crawling til he's 12!
What do you mean about the feeds though chon? Does Maya get her solids right smack in between 2 booby (or bottle I can't remember) feeds?

Oh dear, Linz, you poor thing - a fever would be just so awful especially after you have been working your butt off looking after Laila while she was sick. I hope you're feeling heaps better soon.
Chantal, there is always something new to learn, isn't there?! You master one thing, then they move on to the next stage. I guess you and Maya will work out a feeding routine that suits you both... Of course, I can't give any advice on routines, LOL! I'm a complete failure in that regard, obviously!
LOL, Lauren about Noah not crawling til he's 12! At least you don't have to run after him everywhere IKWYM about bubs crying for Daddies. Dave has been great, telling me to wake him if Natalie is unsettled at night, but I just know that I can soothe her quicker than him, regardless of the fact that he doesn't smell like milk So it just seems easier to do it all myself... Yes, tiring it is. One day I'll learn to relinquish control

Hi Linz, I always try to make sure Maya has a bottle or solids before going out but its the times when you are out for most of the day, like taking advantage of all these sales on at the moment

Lotusflower; I give Maya her solids inbetween her bottles so they don't mix in her little belly too badly. If I do them too close together she usually has a little chuck on the floor when she is crawling around, she does a LOT of rocking on her hands and knees so it isnt too friendly for the food thats in her tummy, IYKWIM

Linz hope your feeling better today.

Haven't had Charly finger looked at, I think it is just the way she holds it I have been watching her and she uses it to pick things up. I've stretched it out and there is no pain.

She is starting to crawl has her bum in the air head down on her hands and her little legs are going. Moves a couple on inches looks where she is and head moves more until reaches what she wants (only been aboutn 50 cm so far). Mind you when upstairs yesterday came down and she was near the TV cabinet trying to grap it.

Charly has recognised her name for quite a while probably since about 3 months.

Doing the little indian noises, raspberries and loves giving kisses.
Not to great with the solids. Tried to fit 3 meals in now finding it hard to feed her solids at all maybe it her teeth, you can really see them when she bits on something clear.

Linz I think Charly is doing because at the moment she is the only one not crawling in Mothers Group so has been watching them a lot.

When I took her to the nurse a couple of weeks ago not interest in rolling from tummy to back or crawling. Have been playing with her on her tummy and doing the song '5 in the bed and little one said rollover' on rolling her over on the bed and since then she has started rolling herself all the time. Last week showed her how to move in a circle on her tummy by moving her hands sideways.

Just starting to click for her, just wish she would sleep during the day. Just got her to sleep tried to put her in bed and woke up, so have left her there playing ... wont last long. Yep can hear her now.

Charlysmum - thats wonderful about the rolling and stuff, won't be long and you will be wondering where shes scooted off too...lol.

Oh Linz! Poo'd in the bath!! I'm always worried Maya will do that. A cousin of my DP's told us her 3yr old son poo'd in the bath a couple of months ago, he got so upset and won't go in there anymore She's had to shower him, don't know if shes got him back to the bath yet.

Hope you feel better soon as well.

No Linz, Laila is not on her own - Natalie doesn't want to crawl or even roll anywhere...
Good about Charly's finger, and about the rolling and crawling, clever girl.
LOL about your cousin's boy, Chantal! How hilarious.

Wish I could get a routine with Charly, starting to put her to bed after her bath which is around 6, that is when she is hungry and tired. Has been successful twice and had her asleep by 7.30. I wish Charly would sleep during the day just had half hour and playing downstairs now. Must of the time she is happy so cannot complaint.

So much easier getting Charly dressed and undress sitting up and puts her arms in and out of the sleeves.

When she is happy she shakes her head back and forward really fast and legs and arms are going crazy LOL.

    Bahahaha, you guys are mean

Charlysmum, KWYM about getting dressed - Natalie is funny getting dressed in the morning because it is so cold... She gasps dramatically, and then grizzles, poor baby! LOL about the arms and legs going crazy - when they get excited their whole body shows it, hey. Sooo cute

    ooohh, lucky you Amy, enjoy

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions, Maya has some stubborn nappy rash that doesnt want to go away, its not getting worse, it just won't go completely. Wondering if there are any remedies you guys may know as I have done what the nurse has suggested, which is keeping it dry before putting cream on, no stuff in bath that will irritate, frequent nappy changes and no use of wipes just cotton wipes.

    Getting frustrated.

    cheers guys
