LOL Linz, your av is hot as - check out all that skin you're showing! ROFL! Are Laila's teeth bothering her?
Chantal, have you seen those trolley seat covers? I've seen them at craft stalls, and should've bought one, cause I don't know where to look for one now Natalie can sit up. They cover the seat and the handrail of the shopping trolley, so that you don't have to worry if bubs sucks on the rail!
Natalie's getting a tooth on the bottom - the gum is open and there's a little white strip showing. Course it could disappear again as it hasn't errupted, but looks like it won't be far away.

Is it one of those tommee tippee nets? I have seen them in bigw , are they good Liz?
OO hooo Amy, a tooth? how exciting!!
I have a trolley monster, I only used it a few times though, I would offer it to one of you, only it's blue with dinosaurs on it. They are totally awesome & I got it off ebay for about $60.00 or so.

Charly has been sitting in the trolley for about a month now, I always take two covers one for the sit and one for the hand rail. So much easier to shop now, I will have to keep an eye out for one of those covers. Now I need to watch her hands they are going after everything if I go to close in pram or trolley.

I've given Charly some apple in the net, she just bites down doesn't put whole thing in her mouth. Think she enjoyed it because it was cold on her gums and just bites on everything these days, plus she had control I didn't have to be watching her to make sure didn't choke. Gave it to her whilst she was in her pram at the park.

Eeek so much to read! I apologise for only skimming.
They do sell those mesh feeders in BigW, they're about $6. Noah's got one but prefers to suck on the handle lol.
As for the finger food, Noah gets quite a bit. I give him "soldiers" of toast, normally with a smear of cream cheese, vegemite (not a fan) or avocado on it. I also give him cheerios (they disolve when he sucks on them), cheese sticks (broken into little pieces and smooshed up a bit), and when I'm being "bad mummy" a wafer biscuit (he LOVES them but they end up EVERYWHERE!).
I had an absolute idiot moment yesterday! Was sterilising some dummies in a pot on the stove, and completely forgot about them! They boiled dry and ruined the pot and stunk up the entire house! Well done Lauren!

Agh! Was just at BigW this afternoon and didn't even think to look for the mesh bag thing! Bummer. LOL, Lauren at murdering the dummies! Hope you've got some spare
Sorry you're not well, Shez. Hope you're feeling better soon.
Natalie ate a whole jar of fruit at the shops today - she usually only takes half at the most. Whoa. But then when we got home she didn't want a booby feed cause she was so full, so my LHS (the one that works, LOL) is sooooo sore - when I express I only get a smidgy, piddly amount.
Natalie's tooth still hasn't made a proper appearance - though she bit me this afternoon when I tried to feed her and she wasn't hungry. First time she's done that in ages, and it didn't tickle.
SIL loaned us an activity station type of thing for Natalie, that used to be her cousin's. Its got a seat and a platform to stand up on, and several toys to play with around the seat. (Its sort of like a walker but it doesn't move.) She loves it! Its great for me too - I use it as a babysitter when I want 10 minutes to myself - like now
Must look out for the trolley covers at Spotlight then!

    Hi

Got one of those mesh things today at Big W, $7.50. Now to choose what to put in it tomorrow, bit excited

I was a bit slow putting Maya upright in the trolley, think it was more of a 'she's not a baby 'baby' anymore, so accepted now she is more independent. I'm missing that newborn bubs

I will check out spotlight for sure!!! Saw quite a few mums with those trolley covers today.

Maya had a tantrum today while in Big W She was fighting her tiredness. She even kicked her legs against the pram (first time), that shocked me a bit, I knew I was in for a struggle this time. Took about 10 public minutes for her to FINALLY give in to sleep. Taste for the future I guess.

Whoo hoo for Natalies first tooth!!

Lauren - love the new pic of noah as well!! he's so cute! Future ladies man.... sorry to hear about the dummies though...oops!

Shezabelle - Sorry to hear you have the flu. Hope you have help to get through it.

    Catchya all!

Aw Chantal, you poor thing (re the tanty). Yes, I suppose we will be going through these little frustrations for a while yet. Have you found that Maya just finds it really hard to go to sleep anywhere but her bed lately? Natalie used to be easy as anything to get to sleep in my arms. Now, she will only go to sleep in the stroller if she's reeeeeally tired, and then only for 40 mins. It is a relief that she likes her bed these days, but it has made life a bit tricky in other ways!

    I'm missing that newborn bubs
Aw, that's sad. Maya must have been a lovely newborn.
Personally, I'm so thrilled that Natalie's growing up, LOL. She was such an unsettled crybaby for the first 6 months of her life. I'm amazed at how much happier she is these days.
Oo, let me know what Maya thinks of the mesh thingy!
Yes, Lauren I forgot to say how gorgeous Noah's piccy is - what an absolute cutie! There's a shirt at cotton on kids atm which says, 'chick magnet'. You'd better grab one!

    Hi Amy

Yep, Maya does have problems going to sleep when we are not home, and yep, she used to be so easy to settle to sleep just about anywhere, whether it was in the pram or in the trolley, anywhere. Oh well, can't last forever, we must be kept on our toes

Maya was a beautiful newborn, she made the introduction of being parents easy, I was very lucky. She would sleep well, eat well and inbetween never fussed, BUT NOW, look out, she even had a scream last night at about 1230am, I picked her up and ended up having to say her name loudly and firmly then she went back to sleep. She had her eyes closed during the whole thing so beats me what it was all about!! My DP said its probably her teeth or she is having a growth spurt.

I'm so happy to hear that Natalie is now enjoying 'life' more, she must be happy with the routine you have now. I heard solids can change an unsettled bubs into a happier one, maybe thats it.

I will let you know how I go with the mesh thing, I got some apple, so will try it early this afternoon.

I really miss Angel going to sleep in my arms. Last night she woke about 2am & I watched her put her dummy back in her mouth, awwwww it was so sad.......why do babies have to grow so fast!! I'm with you on that one Chon (perhaps another would make me feel better......)

thanks, 8 months!!!, 4 more till everyones 1st birthday!!!

Yes, another one would fix that newborn feeling again. I've been feeling quite clucky for a few weeks now, I really look forward to being pregnant again but I wouldnt be able to cope just yet. We have decided to wait till Maya is toilet trained. Thats if I can last that long.

    Fingers crossed for you Linz!

Yep, I reckon there must be just so much going on in their little brains atm - so many new and exciting things to explore and be aware of... And most of them are moving around more (except for my little lazybones ), so that would make sense if that's what the night-waking's about, I suppose. Hopefully it doesn't last long and they go back to being contented, low-maintenance bubs
Gosh Linz, hopefully it will happen for you this time. Fingers crossed for you
There are going to be no more babies here for a couple of years, LOL! Although this morning I posted about labour in someone's thread and good heavens, it made me want to do it again!!! And DH and I were discussing names in bed the other night - we both would like another girl next time round, which surprises me... I thought he'd want a boy...
Hurrah for our 8-month-olds! Happy, happy to Charly and Maya *mwa* And Noah soon too!
Wowee, happy 2nd birthday to Zaccie! Do you do special cakes, Jo? There have been a couple of threads about cakes around, and it got me all excited about Natalie's first birthday, LOL.

Oh I'm with you Amy on being excited for the first birthday. I've already organised to have it outside in the local botanical gardens! I figure the less mess the better! I am someone who's totally not into Pooh or Thomas or any of those licensed character's so I think Noah's will be Pirate themed Arrrr! lol now if only I can convince people to dress up (though my 21 yr old sister has alrady offered, and I'm sure her boyfriend would too)!
I plan on making a pirate ship cake and some cupcakes with pirate faces and pirate flags on them (I found the best cake deco shop on eBay. Gorgeous stuff!)
I can't believe our baby's are almost 8 months though!
No new babies here for quite a while either! My SO refuses to even discuss such things but if it were up to me we wouldn't even try to get pregnant until the end of next year which would make them around 3 yrs apart. That sounds like to perfect age gap for me.
I got one of those trolley mates but bugger me if I can figure out how to put it together.... How embarassing!
    Fingers crossed for you Linz!
Oh and I reckon we've got a group of spunks born in Dec 06. Everyone's bubs are gorgeous if you ask me!

I think I'm gonna do a butterfly or bumble bee cake for Issy.
As for # 2, as you know Issy was IVF so we are currently doing whats called a frozen cycle. We have 1 embryo in the freezer and I am waiting for AF then to build up the lining again so I can have it transfered, hopefully it will happen by the end of the month. Fingers crossed it's a keeper.
    Goodluck Linz!!

Oo, Shez, all the best for this month and your frozen cycle. (I am an absolute ignoramus when it comes to IVF processes, sorry. But I do really hope it all works beautifully for you. xx)
Nice idea re. the calendar, Linz... Though they'd all want to be December!
LOL, Jo, I would've thought an angel on Angel's birthday and Christmas day would be very appropriate!
Natalie's birthday is on DH's birthday, two days after Christmas - DH reckons there's no way we'll ever give her combined birthday and Christmas presents, as he HATED that as a child. However, he thinks for her first birthday that she and he should have a combined birthday present - a plasma
    Yeah, right!
Anyway, I'm not sure of what sort of cake to make her just yet, but I think I shall have to make DH a novelty one too
