I've noticed once they close the thread I don't get an update when people post to the old thread.

Had a hard time getting Charly to sleep last night, started to put her to sleep at 7.30. She was asleep countless times in my arms but once I put her in her cot awake. Had a day where she just want mum to carry her, think that is how she wanted to sleep to. End up she was crying so much whether I was holding her (was not giving her BF to go to sleep) or in her cot and it was now going on to 11pm. I put her in her cot faced her to away from me held her arms and legs as they where going every where finally gave in (was 11.30) and sleep to 5am. It was so hard with her crying to keep her there and not give in.

Good luck Shez, I am looking into whether I need to stop BF to TTC since yet to get AF back. Just hope my body know what to do now and don't have to go through the treatments. Use to have to get DH to give me the needles as couldn't do it myself.

Charly's Mum sorry to hear you had an ordinary evening. Issy has been doing that alot lately happy to slepp on DH or me but wakes when in cot.

As you may remember I stopped BF in June and I still haven't had spontaneous return of AF. I didn't have a cycle before pg but was hoping maybe the pg hormones would kick start it for me. No such luck so I have had a 10 day course of provera to bring on a withdrawl AF ( still waiting hopefully this week) then I start oestrogen tablets to build up the lining for the embryo transfer. No needles this time thankfully, though I am a nurse so giving them to myself wasn't a problem.
I hope you don't need treatment this time round. It happens a lot that the body rights itself. Fingers crossed!!

Oh it must have been the night for it Charly's mum, Noah was impossible to get down last night too.
And he's been rather rancid today too, anyone want to trade?
His new trick is to bite me while I'm feeding him and when I tell him no and take him off th eboob he laughs and smiles at me.
Good luck to those of you ttc. I also know nothing about ivf but I'm a good cheerleader!

I can feed my clucky feelings through you guys when you start sharing your preggie stories, sending baby vibes to you both!!

Sorry to hear you guys had a bad night because Maya slept straight through for a change, no resettling problems. I put her in a sleeping bag for a change. Hopefully it wasn't just for one night so see how I go tonight with the sleeping bag again. I have been helping her resettle about 3-4 times every night and sometimes just ended up putting her in bed with us as I would be too exhausted to get up each time.

Hi Kim, welcome to December bubs! Sounds like she is keeping you on your toes. Maya isnt pulling herself up to furniture yet but she gets around okay, definitely a pain in the back with constantly picking her up from places she shouldn't be. We still have some child proofing that my DP hasn't got around to yet

Had another good night last night, she must of been a bit cold before as it seems the sleeping bag is helping. I have her sleeping in her cot during the day now, something she NEVER did before, sleeping now

    her sleep patterns have changed this week, she does this now;

    8am wake up
    Bottle

    10.30 Solids

    11.30/12 Sleep

    1/1.30pm wakeup
    Bottle

    3pm solids

    4.30/5pm Bottle

    6.30pm Solids

    7.30/8pm Sleep

    9/9.30 Final bottle

    10pm Sleep till morning

Hi Kim, and welcome to December babies. Sounds like Zara is doing really well!
Charlysmum, sooo sorry that Charly is having trouble settling. Does she like being patted? Natalie did for a while, though now she is much more independent and hates it. She gets cross if I do it now.
Linz, aw, sorry Laila is a night-owl Once she goes to sleep she does pretty well, doesn't she?
I'm with you, Liz. I'd like to wait a while before #2... But if I'm to be really honest with everyone, I am only now starting to *really* enjoy Natalie. I mean I have always loved her, and we had some lovely fun times, but she is just a delight to me now
Wow Chantal - 10pm through to 8am?! How awesome!!! Sounds like a winner routine. Does she not have an afternoon sleep? I can't keep Natalie awake in the afternoons - if we are in the car or stroller or whatever when 1:30-2:30pm rocks around, she just closes her eyes and drifts off. If she's up, she just loses the plot
Well, our night times have been infinitely better around here... I have put my foot down and decided there will be a maximum of two bfeeds between 7pm and 7am. She usually wakes around 10:30/11pm for a feed, then 2-3:30am for resettle and either goes through til 7, or wakes at 5 for another feed and sleeps til at least 8. I'm so happy with that atm - it is bliss after so many weeks of 2ish-hourly wakings! And hopefully, as is seeming to be the case, the resettling will get quicker and quicker... (oh please...)
Our routine is looking a little bit like this:
    6:30-7:30am - Wake, bfeed
    8:30am - brekky
    9:30-10am - down for sleep
    11-12ish - wake, bfeed
    12:30-1ish - lunch
    1:30-2 - down for sleep
    3-4pm wake, bfeed
    5pm - dinner
    6pm - bath
    6:30pm - bfeed
    7pm - bed

I would love to just give a late feed at 10:30/11pm, then have her sleep through til 7, but I think that's probably aiming a little high at this stage Still waking 2 or 3 times lately. We'll see what pattern she falls into over the next couple of weeks... Do you think I'm asking too much of her?

I forgot to subscribe to thread when went in last, was wondering why nothing was coming up.

    Welcome Kim and Zara.

PC - I had to go through treatment it was a stage before IVF, tried Clomid for 6 months didn't work so added a needle to boost ovulation (that how I thought of it, not sure if that is technically correct) then did insemination, worked on the third try.

This is roughly how our day pan out

Wakes for the day around 9am
    Solids around 9.30 -10

    BF 11am

Maybe sleep 12 for half hour

    solids between 1-2

    BF 2.30 to 3
    Sleep for hopefully 1 hour

    solids around 5

    bath 6
    BF

Try to get to sleep by 7.30

Will wake once before 10pm try to but back to sleep without BF

BF during night 1 or 2 times between 3 and 6am

Is moving backwards around the place not very fast yet. Tries to pull herself up on me and a minute ago the tower of the computer. Has a little bit of a runny nose today.

Oo, sorry about the runny nose - hope it clears up and doesn't turn into anything nasty. So great that Charly's on the move!

Have a question for those still BF, do you BF during the night. Just wondering as in my Mothers Group when I mention it they are always saying she shouldn't need to feed during the night. Although they are all now FF and eating solids very well, they eat probably 10 times as much as Charly does in solids.

Honestly I would prefer Charly to have BF at this stage as that where the nutrients are. This week she is going really well with the solid, she just likes small potions thoughout the day. It is just annoying me a bit that they seem to thinking they know what is right.

Charlysmum, :hugs: It is hard when everyone thinks they know what is right for you and your baby. Of course, it is entirely your choice as to whether you continue to bfeed Charly at night. You are right, their main source of nutrition for the first year is milk, whether breastmilk or formula.
If you have a look on the ABA website, you will come in contact with heaps of mums who never night-weaned their babies. There is nothing wrong with feeding overnight, although when they get teeth there is arguably a higher incidence of tooth decay.
On a personal level, I have decided to try to night-wean Natalie, simply because she is waking too often IMO, to be hungry. If the waking didn't bother me, I wouldn't be weaning, but I'm just so tired so that's why I'm doing it. Technically, they don't need feeding overnight if they're putting on weight... Having said that, I'm willing to continue to give ger two feeds between 7 and 7 because she seems to be much more settled with those. Perhaps we will drop those when she increases her solids.
Tressillian have a national helpline - if you want another opinion, please give them a call. I've phoned them about three times now and they have been really helpful.
Charlysmum, you are doing such a great job! Try not to feel pressured by people who think they know more about your own baby than you

Thanks for the warm welcome girls!

Zara's routine atm is OK. We are still breastfeeding as well, as she still as no teeth. But AF is back for me, no idea why as she still feeds at least once overnight. Oh well.
Her routine goes something like this

6am Breastfeed - back to sleep
    8am Awake
    9am Solids
    12-1 Sleep
    2pm Solids
    230 Breastfeed
    230-330 Sleep
    5pm Solids
    7pm Breastfeed and bedtime.
1130pm Breastfeed (wakes on her own for this one)
    Usually 4am Breastfeed
    6am Breastfeed

So she isnt a great sleeper at all. But i have basically written off the next 6yrs or so of sleep, hahahaha.

As for TTC, in 2yrs we will start. I want some time to enjoy my little zee and plus we wont be in a bigger house until then!

Hope u r all well. Speak to u soon! xx

Sound like a good routine Kim. I'm am happy if Charly sleeps 1hour during the day, as she gets very grumpy by 5.30 if she hasn't.

Charly usually goes from about 8pm to 4am without a BF. Having said that last night she woke at 2.30 then 5.30 for BF. A couple of times a week I may not be able to get her to sleep without BF if wakes before midnight. She can be very determined about what she wants. I don't think I am overdoing the feeds because by the end of the day I have a low production so think it takes a little longer to get her fill. Plus it has been reducing a lot over the last month, because she has been resettling herself in the middle of the night.

That sounds pretty good to me, Kim! Last night Natalie woke in a similar pattern to Zara - just before midnight for a feed, then 4-ish (but managed to resettle) then 5:30 for a feed, then slept til 8. I thought it was not too bad a night
Charlysmum, breastfeeds are hard to quantify, hey. Not feeding overnight makes a huge difference, doesn't it. For the first time in ages, I've felt really engorged and sore these last few mornings, and it is only now settling down.

    Welcome Kim !!
Sorry again for being a slacker.Dylan is back home now, & is already back at school. Such a relief to have him back, safe with me.
Angel is being a real sook today, teething I think.
OK quickly here is our routine:
    Wake between 8- 8.30 bottle,
    9- 930 brekky.
    10 - 10.30 bed
    12-12.30 bottle
    1 - 10 lunch
    3 -3 30 bottle sleep
    5 - 5 30 up for dinner & bath
    6 - 6 30bottle
    7 7 30 back to bed.
this only happens a few days because she will often have a big 4 hr sleep through the day.
