Will I surived my first week (2days) back at work, teary on the first day for me. Charly had fun at Granma's with her cousins, but I got a big smile and squell when I came back. She woke up extra early 5.30am on the second day, I so was very tired by the end of the day, Charly at least had a sleep.

    Smile

Gosh it is amazingly quiet around here.

Charly's mum - must be so hard to go back to work I really feel for you

Well its not long now till their first birthdays!! I'm really looking forward to it and starting to plan. I am going to get her invitations out soon as people will be organising Christmas functions and we have two other birthdays in the family in the same week so I want to take 'dibs'

Update on Maya; she is pulling herself up on anything she can and walking across the length of the lounge, she attempts to let go but then quickly puts her hands back.
We went to an animal petting farm today and she had a ball!! She patted a Kangaroo and baby goats and lambs, she laughed when touching them, very cute! She is a little toddler now, I can't see her as a baby anymore, as she does so much now and her personality is just bursting out.

I really hope everyone is well, when is Amy getting back???!!

Great to hear Maya is doing well, your right it is quiet around here. The petting farm sounds great we have a local zoo here which I would like to get a yearly past and take Charly regularly.

Charly is climbing the stairs like a pro as now decide she will to climb them a different way and is try to hold on to the bannister and climb the stairs (while still holding her toy).

She is having more sleeps during the day, but if I try and move her from my arms to the cot she wakes. So I use it as my down time and read a book.

She loves going to Granma while I am working so I don't feel so bad and I enjoyed my second day. Think she likes the change, at least she is sleeping for Granma which I was worried wouldn't happen.

There are so many little changes it is hard to remember them all. She is still being a fussy eater, thing she just want to eat as a family. So I need to get organised and have something that we all can eat.

Her squells of delight are making the boys cry, she did it again at Mothers group. All the moms where laugh so she thought it must be good and with a big smile kept doing it.

    Hi everyone!
OMG, how sad about Linz... I don't have any contact details for her. That sucks. She doesn't live very far away from me - we never got the chance to meet up for a coffee or something
Wow, I'll bet everyone's grown up so much! I've been trying to catch up on everything...
to all those gorgeous ones who are cruising/walking! I can't believe how grown up our little ones are!
We had such an awesome holiday. I think it was probably a little bit too long for Natalie - she has been sooooo happy since we arrived home. It is quite comical really, seeing how much she loves familiarity. But that's always been the way she is. Having said that, she coped marvellously with all our travelling around, and she slept reasonably well too.
We saw so many beautiful places and did some great walks and tours. I'll have to add some photos to my gallery!
Natty is finally starting to wave. She's become a lot more cuddly lately and she is now shy with strangers. But she's also getting happier too, all the time.
She got a cold while we were away, poor little mite, but getting over it now.
I now have the task of getting my CV organised and applying for some part time work. I thought I'd be depressed about it, but I really do feel refreshed after the holiday and I'm excited about starting something new!
Hope you're all well - look forward to hearing back from you all!

    Charly has her first tooth!!
No wonder she has been so grumpy at night she is still sleeping which is a miracle as she as been waking at 5.30- 6 o'clock. She ate a peice of Daddy steak last night, so hopefully her appetite is back as well.

Snacks welcome back, sounds like you had a lot of fun. Yep they are growing fast it is amazing.

I need to print out some photos to put on my desk at work. So I'll go and do that while I can.

Cool that Charly's got a tooth! How cute. Oh, forgot to mention before, Chon - I am so into Facebook too! You're right, such an easy way to keep in touch with people and share photos and stuff.

Hi Amy!!! So good to have you back. Sounds like your holiday went really well, thats great!Look forward to seeing the photos.
Good luck with your job hunting, can't say I would be so excited...

Wow to Charly for her first tooth, its always the worst I think, no hang on, the two middle top teeth are the worst, not fun at all.

Maya has 4 top teeth, one side one just coming down but its broken through and 4 bottom so after this we just wait for the 'molers', is that what they call them??

She is enjoying bath time heaps now, I let her sit out of her bath seat after I have washed her hair, she can sit really well by herself and when she goes for a slip or slide she can 'save' herself and get upright again. She thinks its fun and splashes like crazy. I timed how long it takes from her clothes off to dressing her and it takes and hour to bath her, far out!! But you just don't want to get her out when she is having so much fun.

    Hope everyone is well

Hey girls, sorry I haven't been around much. Then again, it doesn't look like anyone has been really!
Took Noah for a check-up today. The beast was:
    10.9kg
    76cm
    47cm HC
Still not crawling, the MCH nurse said she could refer me to a physio but I'm not worried and don't really see the point at this stage.
He has 5 teet5h now and another 3 coming in.
Saying: Mama, Bubba, Nana, Dada, Uh oh, Wow, Hi and I think he's attempting his name too. Comes out like "Oh-Uh". Maybe, maybe not,
    Hope everyone's well.
    We need updates from everyone!

Gosh I haven't popped in for ages. Sorry.
    Uh let's see,
Angel is 10.5kg. don't really know how long she is.
She has 6 teeth & 2 almost through.
She can sit now & is commando crawling, she is just starting to crawl properly, but only 2 steps & then splat.
She yells, says mumma dadda bubba, she spits blows raspberries & is cheeky as. Loves to shake her head & bite people.
Still sleeping well & now will only eat if she can do it herself.
I'm afraid it's all gone too fast for my likings.
Still busy packing & going totally insane with DH away building. 5 kids & no release is taking it's toll.he he he he.

Hi to everybody I hope you are all doing well.

    Hey again everyone.
Chon, Natalie loves the bath too. An hour! That's quite an ordeal every night LOL!
Must take Natalie in for a check next week. Still not crawling or talking. Sleeping so much better these days. Eating better too - since the trip she is willing to have veges off a spoon. A relief after having to give them to her on a cruskit or toast for so long
Next week we have our appointment about her eye. I'm interested to see what they think.
Anyway, best be off to make breaky! Natalie's getting right into the weetbix these days

Snacks how was the check up, glad to hear Natalie likes her vegies. Still finding it hard to get Charly to eat them.

Charly's favourite word at the moment is bye with a wave of the hand, she is loving going to Grandma and is starting to pick up new words. Heard her call Nath to her cousin when I went to pick her up, really surprised me.

Walking holding on to everything, pushing a chair or her highchair around the house. Wont be long before she is walking by herself.

She has starting doing this think sounds like a sneeze, with the head and eye actions and everything, seem to do it when she is saying yes to something. It looks so funny I have been trying to catch it on video.

Hope every one is doing well, been very quiet I know Charly has been keeping me busy waking up early and taking a while to get to sleep at night. If Granma was here at the moment I would be able to check things here.

Also trying to organise a holiday, in November so any spare time goes into that. Work has been good but it sure makes the week go fast.

Hope to hear from you guys soon.

    Hi

Just wondering if there are babies here that are a bit slower than the rest in reaching their milestones (so i can get a bit of support).

The bub i am talking about was born at the end of Nov 2006. She had a traumatic birth injury and is taking awhile to catch up, but i am sure there are other 'normal' babies that also just do things in their own time.

She has just started sitting in the past few weeks but can now sit on her own for approximately 20 mins. She rolls around purposefully to get things she want and is starting to bring her knees up under her. She can lift her body up, like a push up, and her head control is fine.

Are any of your kids at this stage still? How old where they when doing this stuff?

    Thanks,

    Kate

(i have also posted this in Nov 2006 births, but she is close to Dec and was on life support for the first week, so thought she might be closer to babies here)

    Hi Kate

Sounds like your little bubba is a real fighter!!

I think she is doing wonderful for what she has been through. There are some bubs in my mothers group who are just starting to crawl, more like a commando crawl on their bellies. All are sitting up and have been since 7 months but please dont worry about your little girl, the first year will be a struggle for her but as the years slowly go by she will get stronger and before you know it she will be at an equal with the others in her age group. It will just seem more noticeable at this age.

To keep her self esteem and inner strength strong always clap and cheer when she achieves something like sitting up and holding her head up. This will make her feel happy and she will want to do it more. Babys at this age LOVE hearing clapping and cheering for everything they do.

Let us know how you are going

By the way is she on solids? and what is her name?

    Dear Chon

Thank you so much for your reply. Her name is Jasmine, and she is definately a fighter.

She is on solids, has been since about 5 months. She loves her food, and has to hold a spoon while we feed her and wipes the food from her face with it. She chews on dried bananas as well.

She has lots of people to love and encourage her. She is pretty cheeky too. The other day she was grizzling in her cot. She was tired and had had a little sleep but not for very long. As soon as i went in, and looked in on her, she gave me this big grin, as if it to say, thank you for coming to play with me. No more crying.

    Thanks again.

    Kate
