Buzzie - I agree with Bekz that at least 2.5yrs is probably a little easier we had Vicky when Alex was 2 and it has and still can be really hard especially on her crappy days when she needs almost constant attention of some sort. i would look at having Ash in care for a least 1 maybe 2 days each week we hadn't done this and really wish we had - and start this a few months before the new arrival so as to avoid any issues - so you have time with the new addition and also time to catch up on sleep as from 2yrs on they normally only have 1 if any naps during the day. Also make sure you have a few family/friends around you can call on to help out especially in the first 3 months. And maybe look at using some of the baby bonus to pay for a cleaner once a week - one less thing to worry about. HTH
Well i'm a little stressed out tonight at Vicky has her op tomorrow. The hospital called today to confirm and hopefully she will be first on the list but they dont start surgeries until 1.30pm and we cant give her any milk after 9.30am - she feeds 3hr atm so dont know how we going to go with that one :dunno:
I am a very proud mummy today tho as Alex did his first poo in his potty  he normal hides in his cupboard but just a bit :( my little boy is growing up so fast now.

Isaac was 23 months when we had Jacob and I found that quite an east transition. although Jacob was 27 months when i had Olivia and it was much harder but I think it had more to do with the amount of kids I had..
I think the 2 or there abouts age gap is good :)
Been a pretty good day here. Went fishing yay.. had a fun time. Isaac had an allergic reaction to something and was covered in a icky rash. We took him to the chemist and he said he was fine but it was an allergic reaction to something.
hope everyone has a good week
-
Morgan - All the best for Vicky tomorrow.
Nic - I hope Isacc is ok
Best go and spend some time with DH...poor man gets no attention from me now and then I get on BB and thats me for the night.
-
Morgan: sorry I forgot in my last post to say good luck for tomorrow. I hope vicky goes ok without any feeds. ((hugs)) thinking of you
-
Vicky I hope all goes well today. Poor Vicky having to go that long without a feed. You'd think the hosp would be smarter when it comes to little babies :(
I have a 2 year 9 month gap between Joel and Brandon, 2 years and 10 months between Noah and Tehya, and 2 Years 8 months between Tehya and Abbey. So yes, we can see when I'm fertile. I would have to say taht as trying as it is, this is a great age gap. The older one is more independant, although you can pretty much guarentee the minute I am getting Abbey to sleep Tehya wants her butt wiped.
I agree in having the toddler in pre school/daycare before bub arrives too, even it's just a day a week. It gives you a days break when preg, and also a day for just you and bub once it is here. Also by starting the toddler at daycare before bubs arrival it won't feel as though it is being pushed out of the way iykwim. Not that it is what you are doing of course.
I hope everyone is going well. I do read what is going on with everyone, I just rarely get the chance to post.
Abbey is getting over her chest infection thankfully and my happy little girl is back. She has turned into a thumb sucker now. Funny I was feeding her the other night and she holds onto my boob while feeding, anyway I looked down at her and she had slipped her thumb in beside my nipple into her mouth so she was sucking on both. PMSL, Obviously my nipple wasn't enough for her.
-
 thats pretty funny. (thumb/nipple sucking)
We have poop issues again. 7 days this time. finally this morning she did one. I am hoping that was the reason she has stopped sleeping through!
-
Kayla has started sucking her thumb too! I've been quickly replacing it with a teething ring or something tho... I don't like thumb suckers LOL. How on earth do you wean off the thumb??? I don't wanna begin to think about it. Having trouble getting rid of Tallon's hair habit (playing with my hair as comfort).. let alone weaning of something so readily available.
Oh, and as for sleep, Kayla is a hopeless sleeper at the moment :( Driving me mental.
-
Liz - Alex does that hair thing & it is starting to bug me & he sucks his thumb:doh:
Trish - love the thumb/nipple
Thanks to all for you well wishes will let you know how we go later today
-
what is is about thumbs at this age? mylo chucked the dummy and found his thumb. great i say, whatever helps him self sooth! i reckon he'll stop thumb sucking on his own when it's served it's purpose. like olly did with dummy. only thing is he sucks his thumb so hard it goes purple.
the last few nights have been pretty good, relatively speaking. only 2-3 wake ups and hardly any screaming. i feel refreshed.
morgan good luck with vicky
bekz i too feel sorry for dh- i want my libido back!!!!! i love my husband so much i just want to show him the spontaneous passion we usually have.:p
mylo has a yukky cough - face slippery with snot all the time. poor little bub.
i've been unreasonable mummy again: i heard myself say to Olly "stop carrying on like a 2 year old" - oh yeah, you're 2. sorry darling. mummy having grumpy day.

ack! Everytime I click on a link to come here I get taken to the page before Grr.. Irratating..
I am having a cruisy morning. Simon is mowing the yard so the boys are with him, although they are upstairs having a snack at the moment as he has gone to buy spark plugs. Olivia is asleep :) she is like clock work with her morning naps. always 8:30-9am she goes down. Sometimes for an hour sometimes for 3...
Can I just say I love school holidays

Hi all,
Quick question - what are you all doing about starting solids? Olivia shows interest in our food and has started reaching for it, which I read is a sign she is getting ready to try some food herself. She is just 4 months but I was thinking of trying sometime soon, although I don't want to rush her and part of me wants her to stay a 'little baby' a bit longer.
Hope Vicky's op goes well today.
-
alicia - i read that too and ash is wanting my food big time but im going to wait till hes 6mths like most ppl recomend. i just dont want food chemicals in his body just yet,.. sounds hippy i know but hes got all he needs atm.. if he was showing signs of needing more than my milk can give him of course i would start.....
-
afternoon ladies :)
Hope everyone is well!.. i will start Chrissie on the rice cereal sometime after she hits 4 months and veggies and fruit at 5 months... She's showing interest and copying my chewing already! LOL... cheaky monkey!
As for her thumb.. Chrissie has found thumb, fingers, fist whatever she can get!! LOL chews on them! poor buba...

I won't be starting Abbey on any solids until she's much closer to 6 months. If she appears read then I will try, but not until then and only if she is keen. Not in too much of a hurry to get anything else into her atm.
Abbey woke this morn in my bed and normally is happy for a little bit then starts fussing. Today she laid in there happily for ages, even long enough for me to shower just sucking her thumb. She does it the full baby way, fingers curled around her nose, whole thumb in her mouth. Funny, she still hates a dummy though.
Morgan, I hope all is going well with Vicky today.
Liz, Noah and Tehya STILL do the hair thing. It's a pita.
Xtml, I hope that Olly's cold clears up really fast for both you and him.
Did someone hint around sex, geez I wouldn't know what that is. I have no libido whatsoever. Poor DP tried to make a little romantic spot in the lounge on the weekend and it was all I could do not to yawn. I ended up just going to bed.
-
Trish - Sounds like Abbey had the same thing as Loren. Poor little bubbas, hearing them cough is so horrible. Glad you popped in and posted. I was just thinking about you this morning.
Loren sucks her two middle fingers. I try and use the dummy but she spits it out and replaces it with her fingers. I must say that it looks rather cute when she is asleep and the 2 fingers are in her mouth.
Re solids: It is recommended that you wait until bub is at least 6 months to try solids, so that bub won't develop allergies. In saying this the rule was 4 months only a few years ago and most of my friends have started their bubs at 4 months. Rediness signs are: bub starts to demand more feeds/or wakes up more through the night, and bub's tongue and head is more controlled. HTH
Morgan - Hope you and Vicky is ok.
Re Sex:I have no drive at all!!! I so need it to come back. Maybe I should try WYLDE for women or some thing.
BTW: I did a hpt this morning and I got a very very very faint second line. I then bought another test at lunch time and re-tested and got another extremely faint line after about 5 mins. Not sure what is going on. DH and I started using condoms when I gave up bfing 4 weeks ago, so we have not dtd without protection for 4 weeks. I would assume that I would get a really strong +ve after this time.
BBL I have to go
-
OMG Bek, Are you wanting to be preg already ?? I would be *****ting myself if I were you. I have a gf who's bub is 3 weeks younger than Abbey and she has fallen preg accidently. She was fulltime BF and on the mini pill, she also has a 18 month old a 10 year old and a 14 year old.
I thought about Wylde but was worried about it going through my milk. Don't think I need a horny 4 month old ;)
-
omg bekz are u gonna do another one some time soon?? dying to know the results!!! ive never heard of one being mistaken positive.. ??
-
Woah Bek, were you planning another bub? I can't think about the next one yet and besides I think you have to dtd to get pregnant and that isn't really happening here much, I can join the no libido club. :(
