 everything went well yesterday. we were discharged at 6pm and Vicky had a feed went back to sleep & only woke once through the night for more panadol & food. They found the hernia was because her right ovary had slipped down throught the muscle wall, it was congested and enlarged but the drs are confident that there has been no permanent damage done :crossfingers: She coped fantasticly with the fasting and only really cracked it 10 mins before going in. The worst thing was having to say goodbye and let them take her away  as parents are not allowed to sit with babies while they go to sleep as it is too distressing on both parties  wasn't very happy with that. So she has 2 small wounds above her privates and now we just have to try and keep any infection out of them. Thank you again to everyone for you well wishes.
Bek i hear you on the fertile thing all off our preg have happened between april & may so DP has been told to not even ask
Alicia - we started Alex on solids at 4 months have he has never looked back but there are threads in here somewhere about this and they talk about waiting to at least 6 months as early introduction can lead to allergies, eczema and Alex has had both but best thing is trust your instincts and be lead by your little one HTH
Well hopefully today will be okay here & hope you all have a good day
Bek, yes I do kwym. I was doing the same when I fell pg with Abbey, that only took once in a motnh to fall !!
Morgan, great to hear that Vicky's op went well. Fingers crossed that there is no damage to her ovaries. Maybe in a way this was a blessing otherwise you may never have found out until she was trying to have her own babies.
Have woken up feeling like crap, my left boob is killing me and I have a nice red patch. I so hope its not mastitis. Have a bad feeling about it though with the headache I have too. Of course I have to run around with kids today so no chance of resting either.
Gosh so many messages....
Morgan: I am so glad Vicky did so well.. Hope she heals fast :)
Bek: omg! how exciting but nerve wracking :) good Luck either way you want it to go lol...
Alicia: I was just thinking about you yesterday and realized you hadn't been in for a while.. As for solids at this stage I am hoping to delay till maybe 7-8 months. I will offer at 6 months but if Olivia is anything like Jacob I assume solids won't become a regular thing till after 7-8 months anyways.
Haroula: how cute on the thumb sucking same for you trish. Too cute!!
Trish: :hugs: I hope it doesn't develop into mastitis..
Lauren: Hi :)
now I hope I haven't missed anyone.. yet another crappy night here. Olivia rarely cries overnight but is just awake and chatting. She doesn't have huge sleeps during the day just normal sleeps so I don't think its that.. She wakes at 2 and talks and dozes till sun up.. Although very cute. She just loves to roll over in her cot and thinks she is just great cus I get up to her and she is grinning away. Last night I got up at 2 again but decided to not feed her and see if she would go back to sleep. I recovered her and went back to bed and she did fall back to sleep for 20 mins but wanted to be fed then.
oh and this morning NO COFFEE.. I have proper coffee there but I love my instant in the morning. Oh well 2 cups of tea and a bowl of cereal later I feel less tired
Yeah I think I will wait a little longer on solids... I am seeing the MCHN today so might ask her what she thinks too. It is poor little Olivia's 4 month needles this afternoon :-( Last time they weren't that bad so hopefully it is the same or better this time.
Morgan - glad to hear everything went well with Vicky's op. I hope it heals up quickly for her.
Trish - hope the boobie is feeling better now.
We had a bad (for us) night here. Olivia sleeps through usually, and has for ages, but last night she ate at 7 then fell asleep. I knew it was too early and that I should have given her a dream feed before I went to bed, but I didn't and she woke at 3am wanting food. Also I have a headache that I just can't seem to get rid of this week (it is hormonal) and it is starting to get really annoying. Feel pretty crappy this morning actually.
Nic - I don't really understand your coffee craving but I asure you I know how cranky DH is when he doens't get his coffee, so hugs to your family lol
we all have the same things going on right now- new moon affecting us all. mylo is doing LOUD TALKING inthe middle of the night. i think he's bored with crying/screaming so is trying out a new way of experessing himself. it's kinda cute, baby shouting, as long as he doesn't wake his brother!
trish me too on the sore left boob- what, have the planets fallen out of alignment or something? for some reason my boobs are too full again like the first few weeks and i've even been spraying the keyboard through my clothes(eewww).right now i had to express but ouch! i got a definate sore spot too. i know how it goes, it wont go red for a few more days, the headaches haven't started yet, its early stages mastitis like you, and i too cant possibly rest with kids demanding all day attention. just gonna massage it and aim mylo's chin at the sorest bit. trish be careful driving etc today- accept any help you're offered, this was the state i was in when i smashed my car (bad mastitis, throbbing headache, sleep deprived and stressed). hopefully be better in the next few days.
hey haroula chrissie looks so grown up now- she's changed lots, where as mylo still looks exactly the same but bigger and fatter. i carried him around the streets for 20 mins with no sling or anything (he was screaming blue murder at home) and my back ACHED like crazy afterwards. still, anything for a break fromthe screaming.
Just popping in quickly to say that I am so relieved Vicky's operation went well and that the poor little darling was able to hold out for ages with no food for hours.
Trish, I hope the red patch goes away soon. LOL on the horny 4 mth old comment.
Nic - no coffee! Oh dear. Glad the two cups of tea eased the craving a little :D
Alicia - I had the same thing last week when Monique went to bed too early and got up at 2.30am for a feed. I thought she would have woken up for one last feed before settling down but we were wrong. Hope the needles go well today.
Bek - OMG! Yes, it would be exciting and scary at the same time. Let us know what happens.
xtml - Monique's volume has been turned up lately as well. It's cute isn't it (except in the wee hours).
I think we both have colds. Monique's nose it blocked up and I have a headache and muscle aches and a really runny nose. I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later. I was supposed to go to the first parent class at the clinic today. Oh well, we will hopefully get there next week.
Xtml: My boobies have started leaking again too. very odd indeed
Kellie: The tea did ease the craving but I made a proper coffee and had cake to and feel human now
Alicia: Good luck today with needles.. Even though it is over quickly I hate needle day
super cruisy day here. Olivia down for 2nd nap.. Boys just eating fruit and watching tv..
Just had Olivia's 4 month check-up, her stats are; weight 6.47kg, length 62.5cm and head circ 41cm. She did well with the needles, no real crying from my brave baby. Now she is just a bit drowsy.
Alicia: Glad the needles went well. Our Olivia's have very similar stats :) My o is 6.8kg,63.5cm and a 40cm head lol although I got told Olivia's head is a little small.. I think it is in proportion
Nic - according to the graphs Olivia's head is in the 50th percentile while her length and weight are closer to the 75th, however the nurse said she is all in proportion and doing well.
I can't believe she is getting so big. You know how because you see them every day it is hard to see the growth sometimes, but at other times it just jumps out at you - that's what it was like today when I saw her on the measurement table at the center, she just looked so much bigger.
Trish and Xtml - Sorry to hear you both have sore boobies. I hope they get better soon.
Tinsel - We had the flu/cold thing last week, its a shocker. Get better.
Alicia - Loren normally sleeps through but she has gone to sleep early a couple of nights and sure enough she'll wake for a feed around 3am. I have tried to dream feed but she won't take it.
Morgan - Glad to hear Vicky's op went ok.
Nic - I hate it if I miss my coffee!!! I only have 1 per day but I really miss it if I don't have it.
I took Loren to the health nurse on Tuesday but my nurse was away so I could not get her measured etc. I did put her on the scales at the doctors last Friday and she came in at 6.4kgs fully clothed. As for length all her 000 suits need to be stretched to get them on her, so I am guessing she has hit 62cms. I think I'll have to more up a size soon.
I did another hpt this morning and only a very faint line appeared after 5 mins. I tend to think this is a vap line. If AF hasn't come in the next week or so I'll test again.
Today I bought some MCN...very exciting!! I have washed them already and I can't wait to try them.
Best go...good night all
ok I am officially over it!! Please help! Olivia just won't sleep at night. Last ngith she cried and whined nearly all night. First wake up was 12. then she semi dozed till 3 then I have been up pretty much since then. We did get an hour between 5 and 6 and I slept deeply then but the boys are now awake and so is Olivia. Tonight seeing as Dh doesn't have to get up at 5 for work I am going to shut the bedroom door and leave her to cry.. Is she to young for this? I just need some sleep. I put her in bed with me and she just cried or yabbers away. I try feeding her and she has a few sucks then pulls off.. Im exhausted, no chance for a day nap either.. I am tired of being grmpy with the boys because I am so tired
Ow Nic  we've got the same thing happening here, Vicky's waking up between 12 & 1am then Alex is stirring around 3am and then DP alarms goes off at 4am and i have to get up by 5am in case Alex gets up and trashes the house. All i can think of is
1. Is she warm enough as its getting rather crisp around here in the early hours of the morning.
2. Is she starting to teethe? Maybe try one of the more natural remedies which might help her sleep a bit more.
3. Do you still wrap her - we are still having to wrap Vicky (under the arms) or she just keeps waking?
Apparently if you read other threads is does improve  but i know that doesn't help right now. Maybe get someone over to watch the kids for a hour or so in the arvo so you at least can get a nap? If you lived nearby i'd do it for you.
Hope you get some zzz's today
Sofia hasn't slept well the last few nights either, I think she is starting to teethe but also we have been away from home so long she just might be really unsettled.
So we finally are back in Sydney after almost 4 weeks away in Canberra and Forbes. Was great being away the first 2.5 weeks except when Sofia got her cold, but the last week was harder as Maria just wanted to go home, (now however she wants her hotel room back).
Sofia has grown heaps her last weigh on Tuesday she was 5.67kg
Morgan: She isn't cold as I have her in an all in one and it isn't quite that cold here yet I have a temp thing in my room and it says 23c most of the time
Not sure abut getting teeth.. She chews her hands Alot but thats a normal developmental thing for this age and her gums aren't red or anything. haven't had to deal with teething yet either (boys were awesome teethers) so I am unsure of what signs to look for
Never wrapped her and she won't tolerate it either. She sleeps on her tummy and keeps rolling over and she wakes herself up so thats the biggest issue..
Today I am making sure the room is bright and airy for her day sleeps. I have started to wonder if she had day and night mixed up as her room is dark for day sleeps too..
Louise: Welcome back :) Hope Sofia settles down for you soon too
Wel I am yawning away. I should get up and do something but am just to slack. I wish JAcob would have a sleep today then I could but oh well. i rang Dh to see if he could come home but they are short staffed so he can't :( He is going to deal with Olivia tonight however so I might get a decent night... Cross fingers!!
