Babies Born December 2007 #16

Lauren, I haven't been able to get on Bb properly for the last 2 days. Everytime I do the site is down :(

I have managed to get 2 20 minute at the most sleeps today !! If I wasn't tired enough this morning I am purely exhausted now. Spose I should get used to it. Fingers crossed more babies come in the day time for me :D

I got sick last night at the birth. Not sure if it was because of her episiotomy or not, maybe just bad timing as I am still nauseus now and feel like spewing. Thinking I may have a bug. Means I probably shouldn't go in to see bub today.

I didn't get a cuddle this morning but that's ok, plenty of time for that later.

Trish: Congrats again to your friend :) Glad you got some rest today.. you certainly deserved it

Morgan: have been thinking about you and am glad to hear you are home, Hoping Vicki is all good now :hug:

Lauren: so quiet cus no one could get in lol.. I didn't realise how much I would miss coming here :lol: Maybe I should bite the bullet and buy a membership thingy?

Needles went well.. Olivia cried for about 2 seconds. No pain or any signs of having had needles today :) Silly Dr measured her wrong, I should have said something but didn't see the point seeing as she was measured at the peads 2 weeks ago.. she put her head at the 12cm mark :rolleyes: So according to her Olivia grew 10cm in 2 weeks :lol: and then she kept commenting on how tall she was HAHA.. Anyways Official stats.. 8.1kg (dressed) and 66cm.. (or 76 if you go by Drs lol) and a 42cm head..

Am hoping for a good night here cus this afternoon i fell asleep when Olivia was and I didn't hear her crying for ages.. I fell asleep on the lounge floor and she was full on screaming when I woke. woops! jacob had a day sleep today as well woooo.. Simon was out getting Ethan from school and had isaac.. but on a good note I got 20 mins sleep. Jacob woke at 11 and was cracking it and woke Olivia so i didn't get to bed till almost 1am.. and then he cried on and off during the night.. goodness knows whats going on with him lately...

Well All Crap woops i mean all saints is on now and I must get my weekly dose :)

Hmm just a quick one, I've typed out 3 so far and they keep getting eaten by the computer when I'm trying to post- is it just me or is everyone having some probs with the site?
Nic- Glad Olivia is over her needles. We have ours tomorow morning- wish me luck :(
Trish- Glad the birth went well. Hope you're not too sick. I don't remember much from when Ty was born but I do remember my bf coming in and immediantly throwing up, and me crying saying 'wtf are you throwing up for?'
Lauren- woohoo on the house looks like you're well on the way!!
I snuck off to watch Sex and the City tonight, it was great. And dh managed to bath and feed and get Ty off to sleep. Yay!!

Good Luck for your needles today. Well Ty's.. Olivia is just fine. Slept ok. She felt a little warm when I got up with her just before but it might have been cus she was cuddled up with me so just waiting to see if she cools down.. She is happy though

yeh BB has grown so big they need to put in a bigger server. so it will be down whilst they upgrade but if you keep trying im sure itll be getting better soon. :)

When you are expressing and u said u got 120mls in 1 1/2 hours, did u just express and put it in the fridge and keep topping up as u 'refilled' ?
My left boob was so sore today at lunch time and i just realised i had been feeding ash on my right since last night derrrrr.. lol and so i expressed and got 140mls in 10mins from the one boobie.. LOL ouchies..

Needles went ok. I was worried Ty would be hysterical like he was last time- inconsolable for an hour- but he had a big scream and cry and then had a cuddle and a feed and was ok again. He's been very out of sorts for the rest of the day, grumpy with a few runny poos, but I think he's ok now.

Lauren- lol at the expressing. I can get 280mls(and then have to stop coz the bottle's full) on the days I'm at work- I don't express while I'm there so I do a big one when I get home.

Got the email bout the site today. It is nice to know it's not just my Internet connection :)
Hmmm, that's about it for me today. Ho hum.

yeh its been a hohum day for me too.. i am so tired. Stupid period is on a 14 day cycle so I wonder if thats got something to do with this tiredness. (ps not heavy tmi) Anyways Tired of changing pooey nappies.. Olivia did 6 today and will no doubt have a few over night.. sigh.. stupid solids.. I am sure thats the reason anyways.. her body getting used to it all

Lauren - Gympie is a nice little town. We always stop (usually at Maccas or the shopping centre) on our way to Bundy. I must say don't leave your woolie jumpers in Melbourne because Gympie get really cold in winter and extremely hot in summer. You will only be 2.5 hours away from Brisbane so please drop us a line if you come to Bris Vegas.

Hi to everyone else. I have been busy moving. I am so wrapped with our new home and the area is lovely. We are busy painting and patching at the moment.

Miss Loren has crawled a few times, but she prefers comando style. She is not that interested in solids, although she will take oat cereal and a bit of apple. She is teething atm and gets really cranky when she can't have a good chew!!! She weighed in at 8.1kgs and is 69cms....She is such a chubba!!!

Anyways best go for now as I have bottles to clean:(

Well Miss olivia is now awake happily sitting in daddys arms.. and surprise surprise gassy gassy!! Olivia not daddy :)

Nic - Loren gets really gassy at night. Lately I have been doing a belly massage and lying her down and crossing her legs over her body and I think she is more settled over night. Oh yeah co-sleeping from 4am is also working a treat, although Loren sleeps well but mummy and daddy don't. We are only a double bed atm!!! Tell me about the crawling bisso...My tiny newborn is going to be one in 6 months.

yeh we don't sleep so well when we co sleep Simon especially doesn't sleep well.

Olivia has done another poop :rolleyes: agh.. so tired of poop changing.. although Simon just did this one.. Finally!!! She is looking tired now so best go feed and dream of a full nights sleep.. bet she still wakes at 1 though

Bek - Wow crawling...they grow up too quickly. Where have you moved to?
Lori - Glad to hear Ty's needles were not too much of a bother for him.

Well Vicky is heaps better, just a nasty cough now as the poor dear cant get rid of the gunk, but she slept last night from 7.30 to 4.30 :dance::dance:. Mummy's one happy person today. She is also sitting by herelf for up to 10 mins and reaching out and grabbing her toys. And we gave her solids yesterday for the first time - Farax - she ate it but i think she was not impressed with the lack of flavour.

Question do any of you use Vaporisers and if so where do you put them as we've had ours on a bedside table and kept the bedroom door at least half open and the paint on the ceiling is bubbled after 3 nights :(

Morgan: Yes we slept well :) As for the humidifier.. just pop in on the ground and close the door before anyone goes to bed... Let the room steam up and then when you go to bed if it is to steamy open the door a little..

I can't believe Vicki is sitting by herself.. Olivia tries but always flops over. She lifts her head and shoulders off the ground now when playing on her back

After I posted last night Olivia had a good feed then fell asleep, As I lay her in bed she chucked it all up :rolleyes: she kept the 1am feed down but chucked up the one this morning.. I think my milk is to fast for her. i have been really full the last few days..

Anyways off to browse BB which is going so fast :)

Morgan - I do what Nic does with the humidifier. I d0 gett concerned that my 2 yo is going to pick it up though. Loren can't sit for longer than a few seconds. Sara was the same she crawled before she could sit.

Nic - Don't you hate it when they spew in the bed!!!!

Crap night here. Miss Loren woke up constantly. Poor little miss woke up at least 6 times screaming. I think it maybe teeth.

Oh yeah I have got a sore throat and Sara was coughing all night and she has a runny nose, so it looks like the mr cold is making a visit to our place.

Best go Loren wants a feed and Sara is feeding her teddy baked beans.

Just a quick one at the moment. I was changing Olivia last night and noticed that she has got a freckle!!!!! She didn't have it before (sure she didn't even have it yesterday morning), but there it is now on her side! It's amazing how she keeps changing!

bekz - thats so cute about feeding the teddy the beans. made me giggle.

morgan - the same happened with my humidifier the ceiling went horrible. but it worked well. i would put it on the floor next time too.

Ash is fully sitting on his own now, looks so cute.. we tried some custard for breaky this morning. our first solid, it was only 1 spoon, so seeing how he goes with it :)

Oh it's going to be a bad day here... Ty has been crying since he woke up. Three hours ago.
With the vaporiser, we put it on the floor and keep the door closed. We have a huge room but. No paint problems as yet.
Ty's not sitting up properley, still folding himself in half :) DOes donuts on the floor but, round and round in circles... I'm not in any hurry for him to crawl, I know that will just mean more work for me.
Best go, I"m off to lunch with my mum's group, then over to the MIL's to discuss bapotism details, sjhe paying for us to have the after party at a resturant... which will be nice but I hate feeling indebted to her for anything.

yahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i just weighed myself - 66kgs!! WOOOT i havent been that since i was 16yo! hehehe ok just had to have a squeal hehe :dance:

I am grumpy again today.. Olivia doesn't want the pumpkin she doesn't want to feed properly and is now grumpy too.. She doesn't want to be held or left alone nothing. not really crying but whiny..

Miss Loren was grumpy most of the day. I couldn't puy her down. This made cleaning my new kitchen rather hard. At this pace we'll never get into thehouse. She has been ok this arvo. She ow has a runny nose

yup sweet potato here.. thats pretty much what she has,. That and pumpkin..

I have bought a jar of vanilla custard.. not sure if i want to try it yet as it has skim milk in it.. I also got some pear and apple and pear and apple cereal...

Poor sweety has been so gassy.. I am going to go back to one meal and just in the morning.. not going to worry about the tablespoon at night unless she is unsettled..

My mum bought Isaac one of those bounce and play gym things by safety first and anyways I got it back tonight for Olivia.. and OMG she loved it.. I was so mad at myself for forgetting my camera( was out when she tried it) but tomorrow I will get a vid of her.. She was cracking up laughing and bouncing all over the place.. heres to a more tired girl who might sleep through the night.. Maybe thats why jacob and Isaac slept through.. They bounced themselves to sleep :lol:

Must be the day for grumpy babys. Couldn't put Ty down all day either. He'd be alright if someone else was holding him but then as soon as he saw me he'd cry like his poor little heart was breaking :( And I think he only smiled twice all day. Poor little munchkin.
We ordered the cutuest little white suit for his baptism today, and hired a function place. So much organisation for such a little person!

nic - thats the custard we tried yesterday. I think his tummy was a little squirmy for a second but he seemed to enjoy it. had it again this morning so im gonna do a week of it and see how he goes.
I tried the farex last week and he was up all night screaming so im not doing that again for a while.

I wonder why farex has an effect on him? I wonder if thats what is olivias belly issues?? she had pear and banana cereal this morning and loved it and then went down for a 2 hour nap *dances*

Sofia has decided that vegis are not for her unless liberally mixed with puree apple or pear and I mean more apple than vegis. She is happy with rice cereal and apple in the morning, loves chewing/sucking on toast, will eat avocado, but really purses her lips at anything else. What is everyone else feeding their babies?

Goodness me sofia is almost 8 months old....!

So far we have tried sweet potato and pumpkin and apple.. And now apple and pear cereal..

So not much yet lol.. Debating trying broccili next week. Don't want to make gassy pooey girl any gassier and pooier :lol:

Hi Girls! So far so good with the solids. Touch wood we have had no ill effects from anything I have given her yet. Fruit we have had Apple, banana and pear and Vegie's we have had potato, sweet potato, pumpkim, brocilli, cauliflower, peas, beans and zucini.

She will eat anything and everything. She has Bellamy's Baby oats in the morning with some sort of fruit mixed through. Lunch mixed vegies and dinner mixed vegies along with her normal milk feeds.

I love to cook so I just spent some time steaming and mashing a whole stack of organic vegie's and then put them in ice cube trays once frozen they go into a zip lock bag. Once a week I split these into her meals and then each night I only have to grab out a container which is already to go.

solids? what are they? LOL. I haven't had time to start her on solids. Mum flew out to the UK this week, and I've been doing her last minute washing and cleaning for her. This is where exclusive breastfeeding comes in handy! LOL.

She has had a taste of some apple, but that's it!

I bought some cereal and a jar of apple (i usually make my own, but figured I need something on hand when we start) with the intention of starting her, but just haven't. The poor thing looks longingly at our food these days too. hehehe. Aah well.

Well, must go. DH has invited friends around tonight, and the house is in no state for visitors! It's like a chinese laundry in the loungeroom. Argh. And I haven't started dinner yet!

I wondered the same thing.. I used to buy it for Jacob but now I can only find heinz grr.

My Woolworths and Coles both stock Bellamys formula, rice cereal, oats and a few other thing for when they are a little older.

I did email Bellamys directly earlier this week to see if you can buy direct as my local Coles the prices fluctuate dramatically ($4 a tin) from week to week with no reasoning. Bellmays told me that they will have an online store that will be set up within 6-8 weeks.

I prefer the Bellamys to the others as Bellamys is an organic company selling organice food, rather than a large company just doing it for the sake of it. I guess I like the fact that I am helping out an Austrlian company too.

Nic- omg, 4 AM???? ? How do you function at that time of the morning??? Haven't seen Bellambys around either.
We do pumpkin, potato, sweet potato, zucinni, carrot, apple, pear, banana, rice cereal, custard, youghurt and tonight we did pureed chicken. To meet the discerning tastes of the master of the house ;) all vegies must be mixed liberally with apple or pear or it's a no go. Oh, and we do the Raffertys Garden multigrain breakie with apricot and banana, which I mix with pear. I've being doing the freezer thing and making my own, so I just look in and go 'Tonight we will have one potato, one zuccini and one apple', or whatever. Ty loves zuccini and apple.
Poor little man has two big bruises on his legs from the needles. So can't do much of his favorite activity- rolling aroubd all over the place.
Took him grocery shopping in his sling the morning and got so much attention- everyone stopping to oooh and ahh over him. And he lapped it up before falling asleep in their. My back is aching something shocking, he seems so much heavier when he's asleep!

Well, with visitors leaving so late, I sat down to catch up on BB only to find myself reading up on those poor little twins that died in Qld. :(

Then I just re-read my last post saying I didn't have time to feed my baby solids! OMG! Ok - in my defence she's only 6 months corrected this week! LOL. But still.. in light of such horrible news, my post can be read in a really bad way!

OK.. really need some sleep. No such thing as a sleep in with kids.. so late nights really kill these days. *yawn*

Simon and i went to bed at 9 last night :lol: I lay down and Simon was talking and I felt my entire body just get heavy and I couldn't move. hehehe.. then Olivia stirred and I just about jumped out of skin.. Rolled over and went snoooooore. :lol: Olivia woke at 11:20 though and 4:30 and is up for the day now.. *yawn* I don't feel like I did last night though so yay...

I am going to go for a walk today so wish me luck. I had been putting it off cus last time i went walking Olivia had one of her turns and I have been turning into a hermit so I need to get out some more. I have only been venturing away from the house if Simon is with me and that is starting to get a little ridiculous.. Anyways I am looking forward to getting out today..

Nic - yeah, I know I'm not starving my baby, just funny how put in a different context what I said sounded terrible hehe. DD is definitely ready to start solids, but she's not hungry for it. I tried her with a bit of cereal and apple this morning. She wasn't really that interested. She didn't spit it out, but she didn't open her mouth up for it either. She was too busy trying to grab the spoon.. so I gave her her own spoon to hold hehe. So she didn't have much.

Enjoy your walk. You've inspired me to ask DH if we should go for a walk up to the park or something. It's a nice day here today... it's been pretty miserable and threatening showers all week.

Liz, thats how Olivia with solids.. she opens her mouth but doesn't show any real interesrt... oh except for the avacado.. dang forgot to get that ths morning.. oh well tmorrow..

Walk was great. boys got hair cuts.. we bought a few essentials ;) 3 hours later we got home.. and Olivia only cried once the entire time and it was more wah wah I fed her she went to sleep we kept going on our merry way.. The boys wanted to go out on the new jetty but I felt a bit iffy on my own seeing as there are no sides.. so we will do that tuesday

and I started Olivia with water last night. Just to play with mainly and well she loves it.. I think she drank a ml :lol: but hey she was chewing on the cup and going a little nutty..

ok time for lunch here. Had t sit to feed the Missy and now she is done I must go...

are u supposed to give bubs water wen they start real solid food like veggies or even when there just eating custard?? im not 100% when i should start Ash. I think hes fine with boobies atm but im guessing water is good for them ???

Lauren, I don't think I started Tallon on water until he was close to 1. It's up to you really :)
