Hi girls, long time no see ;)
OMG at all these babies crawling. Thankfully Abbey isn't yet. She does get onto all 4's though, and she still gets right around the room by just rolling everywhere. Or in her walker she raids the drawers.. Time to think about drawer locks again I think.
I'm not even going to try to catch up, sorry about that. Know that I have been reading though and keeping up with everyone. Life should be a little quieter for me now. 1 client down and 3 more due all in Oct !! Plus a wedding. How in hell did I do that. Aggghhhhh.
Abbey is in the most feral mood today. She has whinged and screamed since she woke this morn. Guess it doesn't help that I am so overtired and grumpy either. Soooo wanted a nap but it wasn't to be (thanks Tehya).
Hope all bubbies are doing well and being kind to their mummy's :D
Hey good to see everyone on today..
Haroula yay on the sleep! Ash had a massive sleep on friday, normally only get 30mins out of him, but was sleeping for 2 1/2hours and of course i went to check on him and the door squeaked and he was awake in a instant!! dum mummy move!! :wall:
Trish - thats good u get to see all those bubbas being born tho.. how special. I STILL miss me being in hospital with a new born, it was just such an exciting time.. weird i cant get over it tho...
Well Ash has been fighting a sleep all day and is finally down so i better go do something more constructive i guess.. Have a good night everyone..
hehe I know the look too..
Alicia: hope you are feeling better today
Trish: Hi :)
Haroula: wow on that sleep.. I hope you enjoyed that peaceful time..
Olivia slept through again.. 7:30 till 4. Not really liking the 4am starts to the day but oh well.. She naps again at 5:30 but the boys are up by then so no naps for me  Simon is on days off now so I will go back to sleep with her this week..
Getting excited cus its Jacobs birthday on Friday :D:D I can't believe he will be 3.. 3 seems so grown up to me...
oh and off to upload a gorgeous pic.. Jacob just adores Olivia.. It is a melt your heart pic hehe
Hi all,
I am so very proud, Ty learnt to wave last night :D Remains to be seen whether he will remember to do it today (hasn't done it yet) but still very exciting.... No 'actual' crawling here yet, just rolling and arm shuffling all over the room. He gets up on his hands and knees and rocks but that's about it...
Nic and Trish- Seriously, you two are superwoman I don't know how you do it. Hats off.
We've been having some top sleep here... three naps a day, one of them for an hour and a half and Ty is putting himself to sleep instead of mum patting him off. I don't know what to do with myself with all this free time. Although we are still getting a lot of night wake ups, his teeth seem to bother him every morning at about 4am, they get all hot and swollen. Poor little darling.
Lori: Honestly when I just had one I had no idea how people with more kids did it either but you do learn to cope. when they are your own kids its easy :) plus don't forget when olivia is grumpy and wants attention I have 3 very willing helpers :D So in some ways I do have it a bit easier especially with having Ethan. If she just wants a cuddle and I am busy cooking dinner he is able to pick her up and cuddle her for me
I have my hand wrapped up at the moment cus i was sick of tthe aches and carry one and it really works.. Definetly getting a wrist splint this week as the symptoms go away . Makes it difficult to type as i can't really bend my hand lol.. but its better then aches and pins and needles..
spose i better get out of my jammies at some stage. Livi is down for a nap so i should get the lounge Re Livi divvy proofed
Lori - yay on the waving hope he does it again for u.
Had Ashs 8month check - little early.. his weight and head growth finally is slowing down but has shot up, weigth is 10.7kg head 48.5cm and length 74.5cm! no wonder hes already in size one, nothings long enough...
have a goodnight everyone :)
Ok Girls! I have been away on holidays so have been unable to keep up with everyone but from what I have read it seems like most are doing well.
Growing too fast though with all this crawling or nearly crawling action.
I was just reading somewhere on antoher site about babies giving up their bottles at 1? I was just interested to hear at what age those with older children gave up their bottles and what did they move to? Sippy cups? ANd which ones worked for your bubs.
Thansk Girls
So sorry I haven't been into say hi.
I will pop in tomorrow and catch up.
We had our first finger slam in the kitchen draw yesterday...poor buba and I was just thinking of putting a baby proof tab thing on it.
Kt - At 12 months I took the teet out of the bottle and switched to a sippy teet...At 18 months no more bottles just sippy cups. I use Avent bottles
Hi all,
Bekz- Ouchie!!
kts- They recommend swapping to a sippy cup from six months for orthodontic reasons. We are bfing but Ty has a cup with water at meal times.
We are having a run of bad luck- I said something stupid and caused a fight with a couple we know last night , then I sliced my knuckle making dinner last night. Ty was up screaming for three hours last night- I think we almost have a tooth. Then the poor little darling rolled himself over a pillow off the bed and smack- onto the floor this morning. I was dozing in bed next to him when it happened. Bad mummy!!! See Nic I told you I was waiting for it to happen!!
I think it might be time to start making him sleep in his cot at night instead of our bed *gulp* anyone got any tips?
Oh Lori - I had Tallon crawl off the bed a few times while co-sleeping, woke up to a *thump* and a "waaaaa" He learnt pretty quickly tho, and no serious injuries! You could always put bed rails on your bed, but once they're crawling they'll find a way around it hehe.
Well, Kayla did a 4 1/2 hr stretch of sleep last night from about 11 to nearly 4. She was in the cot next to me coz I was lazy LOL. She only woke up coz Tallon came in and started digging into my hair, enough to wake me up and make him stop.. and that made him cry coz I wouldn't let him hold my hair. Would love to know how long she would have slept for tho! We seem to get the best sleep when she hasn't had any solids. But I feel mean not feeding her, coz she sooooooo wants food.
We've got a checkup with the paed today, might mention how solids affect her tummy. See if he has any suggestions.
kts64s: I would say just go with the flow.. If you don't want to be still using a bottle at 1 just change.. I have a tommee tippee cup for Olivia. it has a soft teat and she just chew or sucks on it to get the water out..
but for Isaac and Ethan who had bottles I just took them away when I felt they were ready. Ethan was 2 and a half and Isaac was around 2..
Welcome back from your holiday by the way :) hope you had a great time
woops lol. Glad he was ok though.. No idea how to make him sleep in his cot..
ouchies! We haven't had that yet but we came close to her closing the cupboard on her fingers.. Jacob is starting to get a little rough with her so she has been having tears from sibling play lately
Well what a crappity crap night we had... I was so knackered thanks to the 4am start that I fell asleep in the lounge. We both did. We both woke at 10:30 and went to bed. Olivia woke at 11:50.. she screamed and screamed and screamedand then she screamed some more. She fed and then screamed again.. Pandol and cuddles didn't help.. I was losing my temper by this stage :( at just after 1 I got the ****s. Put her in her cot.. shut the door and told Simon I was sleeping in the lounge. I reclined back and fell into a deep deep sleep till 6:45 this morning :D Simon didn't sleep so good lol..
I semi felt guilty but then I thought better of my emotions..
I got up with the boys and got thier breakfast while Simon slept the morning away with Olivia so it worked out quite well.. might even do it again tonight if need be ;)
Been a busy morning. Isaac had prep induction at school.. and now Eth and Isaac are at the dentist then whent hey get home we are off shopping
oooo and we went out for tea last night.. Just the 6 of us :) and Olivia sat up in a high chair squealing and gooing her way through dinner. Was so cute
She looks suitably adorable today.. Jeans long sleeved purple top and a hairclip hehe..
hey nic - did u upload that pic u said of one of the boys with olivia??? I was hanging out to see it :) I think u were going to upload it, i know u mentioned one of them smoochies with her..
I seem to all of a sudden be having panick attacks about everything with my little girl...well not reall panick attacks but just stressing over "what comes next"I guess.
We have mastered solids without too much of a problem and sleeping on most days is reasonable. We have two teeth which we have had for three months now and no signs of any more, but I was just wondering what next?
I was reading that at nine months you should sart reducing their two day feeds by half?
I guess I was just wondering what everyone else here is doing in regards to feeds, food, and sleeping.
Oh one other thing...is anyone else's little waking in the early hours of the morning and wanting to PARTY. It is rather cute butI need some sleep. Thanks
here ya go Lauren :) https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...792&ppuser=752
Kts: Olivia occasionally woke in the early hours wanting to play.. It goes away thankfully.. She did that last night though but I wasn't having a bar of it so just popped her back in bed and yeh well it didn't go down so well lol.. When she was doing it every night I just got up and let her play for half hour or so then tried putting her back to bed
My Miss is 9 months old today too :D
" Then the poor little darling rolled himself over a pillow off the bed and smack- onto the floor this morning. "
when tia was around a year old, she started sleeping in a single bed and to help with the fall outs, i put a spare partially rolled up doona on the floor beside her bed.
and if anyone is curious, mirani atm is a 00 - 0 in a two piece, or a 1 in a one piece. (she's very long.)
had such a rough couple of days, 1) i've banged my head about 4 times in the past few days, 2) i've had red food colouring spill over the kitchen tiles twice in 2 days so atm the kitchen floor is pink:redface:, 3)Alisha saw the school nurse today, and apparently her hearing is down on her left side. which could be due to all the colds she's had this winter. 4) Mirani had only 2 naps today (1 was for 30 mins and the other was 15mins), and was fine when we went to get the girls from school but for no reason at all started screaming. and just did not stop, lots of sympathetic looks from other mums. and then i had to carry her all the way home with tia pushing the pram. she didnt stop until we got home and finally went to sleep. 5) Mirani's nappies atm require a big spray of air freshener afterwards. and finally number 6) i broke the toilet whilst trying to fix it. and now i have super glue on my fingers from trying to fix what i broke while trying to fix. if you follow that.
not a good couple of days. have my drs appt tomorrow. will post again then.
oh my god, Monique has the loudest high pitched squeal and is doing it all the time - happy, sad, cranky. Any suggestions on what to do? She is driving me slightly nuts and deaf.
 Michelle!!
Tinsel: Olivia does that too,. I have been told "welcome to the world of girls"
if it is really bothering you though you could gently place your finger against her mouth and say Shhh.. quiet voice.. They understand a lot more then we give them credit for
oh and i forgot to add that i also broke the sugar bowl and chppied a breakfast bowl and found a broken glass in the cupboard.:(
Geez Michelle you are really having a rough time..
Don't you wish you could stay in bed
absolutely.
Oh Michelle! Hoping things start to look up soon.
Thanks Nic. DH and I were trying not to give her attention when she did it in case it fuelled the squeals but will try out your suggestion.
Mum said I did the same thing when I was a baby and the cat would scratch her. Surely I wasn't this bad!
kts, Monique woke at 4am the other morning and thought it was playtime but thankfully it was only that one time.
Oh Michelle - What a run! Must admit I had to giggle at a few of them. I soooo have had those kind of days myself. I hope today goes more smoothly for you. I hope Alisha's hearing is nothing serious. We've got some pretty rank nappies here too, and they're burning her poor little bum too. Think it's teething poos.
Well, we got a 5 hr sleep last night! from 12.30 to 5.30. As she was drifting off I told her to have a nice big sleep for mummy. maybe that worked! LOL.
Our visit to the paed was ok. But he's not happy with her weight gain. She's dropped a bit on the chart. (but if you check out her thighs you'll see she's certainly not wasting away!) So he's urging me to get more solids into her. I said I've held back because she screams in pain at night. He asked if I want a referral to a dietitian, but I said nah, we'll just persevere. Anyway.. I gave her 2 big meals yesterday, and of course she was fine last night little bugga. LOL. So we'll see.
anyway, she's now 7.9kg. She's only put on 800g in 3 months. But she's started crawling in that time so would have burnt off a few calories ;) I'm not worried anyway. But I will persevere a bit more with solids. There's no problem with her taking it.. she LOVES it, but I'll just have to watch how her tummy goes.
michelle - u poor thing, what a crap time for you, hope it starts to get better for you!
Nic - What a gorjus pic!!! Thats so beautiful they boys look after her. You guys take some beautiful family pics.
Tinsel - i wouldnt stress about the squealing, i think all bubbas go thru it at some stage, Ash did for a week straight, happy sad wingy anything. His squealing sometimes turned into a scream too.
Liz - I think its incredible what some health experts say when you are doing exactly what your supposed to. The maternal health nurse told me on tuesday that Ash is still breast feeding so much because hes hungry and im not giving him enough food! Your saything that about a 10.7kg baby!! OMG i think im feeding him enough thankyou!
Have a good one everyone :)
Morning all
thanks Lauren :)
Liz: Kayla is still a tiny peanut isn't she .. 800g is a great gain isn't it?
Decent night here. olivia slept till 6 . I got 7 hours sleep.. Olivia had a big feed off one booby this morning then promptly threw it up all over me.. then 40 mins later she did the same thing when feeding off the other side. ugh.. I am pretty sure it is because I was so full.. The 3rd feed she had was fine and she went and had an hours nap after that..
She is out in the other room squealing at Jacob at the moment.. We are busy making dinosaur muffins for tomorrow. sooo hard not to eat them
Hi all,
Michelle- you poor thing. Hope your luck picks up, that sux.
Buzzie- My chn told me the same thing about the bf so much. Pfft. Ash sounds like Ty- just a boobie baby, loves it :)
Ahh, we get the high pitched squeaking (drives me insane) and the early morning play time. Dh wakes at 4am for work and normally sees Ty crawling round the bed giggling to himself :)
But not this morning cause Ty slept in his own bed till 5am WOOT!!! It was a bit too easy me thinks... tonight will not go so smoothly. 2 4 hour stretches and two two hour stretches yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ETA- Happy nine months Olivia!! :cheer:
hmm... I'll do some maths. i think at this age they want to see at least 80g a week? So for 3 months, which is about 13 weeks... that's 1.04kg. So yeah, she's not gaining like they want. But like I said, she's on the move now, so if she'd sat on her bum it might have been 200g more. hehe. Plus she was in a high percentile for a long time at her corrected age, coz she was born so huge for a prem. IMO she's come back down to the percentile she should be at - nice & average - like her brother! hehe. Anyway, if it weren't for these constant checkups with the paed, we'd be none the wiser and wouldn't be worried about her size at all.
Lauren - Tallon was a booby boy for a looooong time. Fed through the night, fed lots of times a day... he only weaned from night feeds at 15 mths coz I made him, coz I was pg. But he still woke up for water, and to make sure I was next to him. CHN's are dumb IMO heheheh.
Well, my house is reasonably clean these days, but Tallon has taken to using scissors again, and this time around he's learnt how to actually cut the paper up.. he used to just do snips around the edge (if that makes sense) so I have little pieces of paper all over the floor all the time. Which is a pain in the bum coz Kayla can't go on the floor if it's not cleaned up. I try to remind him to cut the paper at his table, but argh.. he's 2.. as if he listens! LOL. I'm going to get myself a swivel sweeper - will be so much easier to do a quick run around with. Mum's going to have the other one, since you get 2 for the price of 1.
Hi ladies...
sorry no time for personals.. but just wanted to let you all know i've been around!
Sorry to all those having a bad trot! :( hope it picks up for you all!
Easy teething for all those bubs trying to push out a tooth or two!!
Happy crawling to those on the move and those about to venture out!!
We have been good... some tooth issues, but OK otherwise.. She's trying out some new day time routine... yesterday NO sleep in the afternoon!!! and the day before NO sleep in the morning... so that's one sleep a day!.... hmmmmm surely she can't be cutting it down to 1 sleep already!!?!?! Sleeping at night is good! sleeps from 8ishpm-7isham however some nights she grizzles in her sleep every couple hrs, so i have to pop up and give her her dummy...arg! but that is nothing compared to some of you!!
hugs too all!
xx
I dont mind Ash being a booby boy, what ever makes him happy. im not going anywhere anytime soon.
Meant to say Happy 9 months Nic's Olivia :D hehe
Did anyones bubs get yukky poos when they were teething? I know some ppl say its related others not but Ash is teething the worst he ever has these last 2 days and this morning did the most Horrid green mucusy smelly poo - sorry everyone  - hes very grizzly and extremely clingy but semi happy at times so i dont think hes sick as such.... did that happen to anyone else???
hehe.. not green & mucusy, by stinky and burning her bum. And I mean STINKY.
I thought I would get heaps of time to do personals but no I think my time is limited...
Poos: We had a week of stinky, burning, mucus poos.
Food/bottles: Loren is having 3 meals per day (2 courses mind you) plus 5 180ml bottles. I think she is having too many bottles but I can't seem to ween her off. Can some one give me an indication if she is eating too much?
Loren is just about to cut 2 teeth. She is also starting to let go of furniture and balance standing up for a second....
Happy 9 months Olivia.
We are off to the nurse tomorrow for check up. I bet Loren has reached 9kgs!! I hope she slows down, her sister is only 14kgs and she is nearly 3.
A big hello to everyone.
Wow Bekz at Loren letting go and standing already! A friend of mine's youngest was crawling at 4 months, walking at about 7, and running by 10 months LOL. i personally like mobility limited as long as possible! LOL. i loved that Tallon didn't even roll until 7 months! mind you he then at the same time crawled and cruised the furniture, so he did all those at once heh.
Dunno how much food is too much. I would think she would refuse to eat if she was full? If you want to drop a bottle, will she take water instead? Or if you're worried about her getting too much formula, perhaps water one bottle down more? I've never FF so I don't really know what I'm talking about, so you can either take or leave that advice! heheh.
hi all,
iron levels are back up to a normal persons levels which is good.
trying antidepresahnts atm to see if things get better on the depression front. dp's taken it personally by saying that if im so unhappy with my life and with him and the kids then i should just leave. typical freakin male. wish i hadnt said anything to him.
Bekz - Ash has about 5-6 boobies durning the day as well as his meals, and the dumb nurse said he was food hungry not boobie hungry.. i wouldnt worry as long as there happy, they know how much they need. As someone said when they start crawling there gonna be burning so much energy anyways..
Michelle - how horrible for him to say that! He should be alot more supportive... hmmmm men. god it reminds me why i cant stand being in a relationship! grrrrh - Great on the iron levels tho! :D
just caught up with all the posts.
We have been away on holidays to Mum and Dads then Canberra, we were meant to go to the Vic snowfields but DH got pneumonia so that ended the snow trip. Fia had 2 nearly 3 teeth when we got to Forbes and a week later she left with 6 teeth. She has started the screaching/screaming with joy noise, has had the wind problems and has had the worst nappies, so all looks normal there.
We had our checkup at the paed today as well. She is now 7.4kg so that is 4 times her birth weight and the Dr is very happy there.
Hope everypne gets good sleeps tonight.
been meaning to message you this week.. our babies are turning 3 :D
i thought Maria was before Jacob though...
Liz - Loren has been crawling since she was 6 months. Sara was the same and I was hoping for Loren to be a bit slower, but it seems my girls want to get some where fast!!! I remember going to mothers group and being the only mummy who could not sit and relax because DD was on the move.
Michelle - Why do men always make issues we have about themselves? Hugs Have you gone to see a natural therapist? It could be a hormonal problem. I am on all sorts of herbs (legal) to try and get myself back together.
I know I am late but happy 9 months to Olivia.
Loren is self settling to sleep now...yipee!!!! and we are cutting 2 teeth atm
Hi all, have been lurking & reading & keeping up with what's going on for you all.
 Michelle - you are so awesome and so strong. Don't let dh undermine that. One day at a time. Your babies are so lucky to have you!
Just have to share a woohoo - Ella is also self-settling now to sleep. She just went down without even a peep, and I forgot to put on her music. She even slept 7 hours straight last night and so did I.. It's so nice to feel refreshed in the morning for a change! Yay.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Hi all,
Woohoo Ty officially has his first tooth!!! Minimal stress for it to come through, only two doses of Panadol over the three days it was pushing through :) No bad poos here either, but watch those mucusy ones- Ty had a few big green mucusy ones just before he got gastro.
Michelle- :hugs: your dh sounds like he needs a good kick up his selfish bum!!
Bekz- Like Liz, I'm no formula expert, but I think these babies know what they need- if bubs wants that many bottles, maybe she still needs all that milk...
Jus- Ahhh I am seething with jealousy ;) Ty needs to follow Ella's lead in the good stuff too. Maybe I need to pop into your place so they can chat :)
It is so misrable and wet and rainy here and I have to go grocery shopping. Ugh.
