    MY whinge-

Molly woke up at 3am covered in vomit. Not just a little but it was everywhere had to strip the cot, bath her etc was up til about 4.30am. I just got her to sleep in my bed and DD1 came in at 5am She has since been vomitting all morning, has a temp of 39 and is so full of snot. I dont know if its the snot making her chuck or another bug on top. I have so much to do today but looks like i cant leave the house. I'm tired and grumpy and miss DH. I hate vomitting bugs as i am scared of her getting dehydrated. I could just cry.

Thanks for reading if you got that far.

My poor baby has been up for less than an hour all day she is so lethargic and not well at all. I am going up to my parents soon and might take her to get checked out, i know sleep is the best thing for bubs when they are not well but in the last 21hrs she has been up for less than 3hrs.

I too haven't had time to post or even keep up much due to work and Bub. I hhave been worried though about a number of things and I finally decided tonight to take the time and ask all you Mum's my questions.

I was just wondering what weight your bub's are at. My darling little girl looks like she ate a barrel - she is such a little chubba. Teh thing is I have only even given her organice formula once she weaned herself. Once we started solids again I only cook for her organic food. Whilst I don't think she eats that much she sure holds the weight and I am a little worried as I continually get comments on how big she is.

So this brings me to my next question - what is your bubs typical day? How many milk feeds and how much? If they are bottle feed do they use a sippy cup or straw cup for any of these feeds? Do you for lunch do you give a milk feed first then solids or vice versa?

This has been really getting to me and I can't seem to settle on what I am doing is ok

I thought it be best to just 'see' you are all doing.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU in advance

Hoody: I hope Molly is ok.. At that age I personally think 3 hrs is not enough awake time.. Regardless of how unwell.. I too would be getting her checked over as soon as possible..

Kts: all babies grow at different rates. for example.. Olivia is sitting at 8.5kg now but my son Jacob was 9.5kg at 5 months.. I used to get comments all the time on how big my boys were.. Gawd it used to irratate me..

ok milk feeds.. Olivia is BF and demand fed so I can't really help you there.. As for mill before solids well I kinda just give her Breakky and lunch when the boys eat and she will eat regardless of how long ago her last feed was.. but from memory I used to only give Ethan a bottle after breakfast and after lunch afternoon tea and then after dinner.. He only had bottles for sleep I think and one for a drink... thats from memory thats 9 yrs old so I could be way wrong

MoM: I am so fed up with Tantrums too.. Hope your afternoon got better

Well Olivia got her first proper taste of the beach (and sand) She wasn't to sure at first and I thought she was to cold so I started changing her and then she wanted to get down.. Well she loved it.. she played in the sand then crawled down to the water *melt* It was so adorable!!

I just adore this pic I got today.. https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...627&ppuser=752

Anyways after the beach we needed to get fruit from the shop so we came home and jumped on our bikes and rode up.. my goodness we are tired tiddlers tonight

    Chat tomorrow Girls

    Aussienic- That pic is beautiful.

kts64s- Molly has 3-4 bottles of 200mls of milk a day and probably about 500ml of water from a sipper cup with a straw. She has a bottle when she wakes in the morning and one b4 each nap (some days she'll only have one nap others 2) and one b4 bed at night. She drinks water in between with the sippy cup. I dont follow a milk 1st then solids etc like aussienic regardless of last milk feed i just feed her the same time as i feed DD1. Molly is quite small and only 8kg but we had a slow start.

Lori and MoM- thanks for the kind words.

I took Molly to the after hrs Gp while my mum had DD1. It looks like a tummy bug on top of her cold and for now she is ok. She is still very lethargic but is drinking small amounts of water and had half and arrowroot biscuit. She hasnt been sick for a few hours so i am hoping the worst is over and now she just has to recover. I really hope it doesnt go through DD1 or even worse myself as i have no one to help me. I had Gastro when Molly was 6wks old and looking after 2 kids when you are that sick is more than hard work and not something i want to do again in a hurry. I spoke to DH tonight and put on a brave face (voice) i told him things havent been so good but at the same time didnt let on how bad as i dont want to ruin his holiday or make him feel guilty iykwim. Well i'm off to bed shortly as i feel my night will be very broken again and i dont cope well with lack of sleep.

Thanks everyone for making me feel so welcome in this thread.

Oh Hoody, how awful for you. I hope everyone gets well really soon and that you get some rest.

Nic - what a wonderful time at the beach and great pics. Glad to hear you are catching up with other mums IRL and having a great time.

LoriRae - Poor little Monique has scratches, bruised knees and carpet burn from being on the move. I get so worried when she pulls herself up that she is going to fall down on her head. We have to get locks for the drawers really soon. It's so funny because she wants to investigate every nook and cranny. So cute though.

kts - I got Monique weighed and measured on Monday and she was 8.2kg and 73cm long. She is still breastfed so is smaller than formula fed babies and boys have their own weight chart because they tend to be a bit bigger than the girls. My little nephew is quite small and my sister gets so worried but he is healthy.
Milk feeds - We feed about every 4 hours and she usually wants a drink around midnight and then I feed her before 8am. We don't have a strict routine though. Her lunch time feed is not as much as her morning or night feeds and the afternoon feed isn't much either. She drinks water throughout the day from her sippy cup.

At lunch it kind of depends on when we got up to when the 4 hours fits in with her milk feed but she usually has her lunch at 12pm and I offer her milk before and if she doesn't take it then I offer her after. The routines I have seen in books give milk an hour before any solid feeds but it doesn't usually happen that way here.

I am sure your 'routine' is just fine.

Alicia - how wonderful to be able to change the colour of your kitchen when you like. We are still renting and I dream about having our own house to whatever we like to. Hope Olivia gets better soon.

Hi Rory - nice of you to pop in. Good work on the BF.

Liz - I am finding it much easier to put Monique in bed with me through the night if she won't settle rather than me getting up what feels like a billion times to settle her.

Well done on all the bubs achievements so far. This is such a great age and I feel like I should be doing more with her. I have a huggies box that I put toys in for her to pull out and last night she pulled herself up and started to push it and walk behind it. I couldn't believe it and now think I should get her a walker thingy as she was doing it again today.

Hoody: Glad to hear Molly is getting a bit better, I can understand not wanting to tell DH.. ''

tinsel and Lori: Olivia fell over her barricade the other day and sported a nice bruised bump for a couple days I felt soooo guilty!! and she gets little bruises on her butt well where the nappy isn't and her little elbow.. Poor baby.. I too want a shirt that says I'm 10 month but think I'm 2

Well I want to know how my miss knows Daddy is going to work?? The last 3 weeks on Simons last night before going to work she sleeps terrible. Last night she woke at 11 and I popped her in bed with me( for some reason late at night she sounds all snotty) then she woke at 1 and tossed and turned and carried on till I gave up at 3:30 and got up and slept on the couch with her.. I think she finally fell aslep again by 4:30.. but I woke when Simon got up for work at 5 and then we were up for the day at 6:30.. agh... I am not super tired but I am going to feel it later today I think

Kts - if it makes u feel any better.. Ash is 12kg already LOL (he looks a little pudgy in my ticker, but he is very well proportioned)and a very happy bub so dont let anyone tell you what is the right or wrong weight. trust me, if your bub was that over weight you would know yourself something wasnt right.
I too demand BF so Ash feeds a good 5-6 times a day. Sometimes only 3-4 if we are out all day.

Rory - Great to hear from you. Hope your coping ok being away, must be tough.

Alicia - yay your kitchen is finally coming together! bet it looks nice, and good on you for painting it yourself.. its my one hate!! painting!
    Hope Olivia gets better soon!

Nic - what a goreous pic... very artistic.. lol Still makes me jealous i cant sit on a beach yet hehe

Tinsel - thats so cute with the huggies box, i think ive got 10 toy boxes around the house hehe

Ash has started to say cat this week, and daddy brought him a big police car from the show and we always sit on the floor and go Bbbrrrooommmmm and now he sits there by himself going brrrrmmmm brrmmmm brrmmm.. soo cute. we were at ikea yesterday and the cars where going past and mum goes does car go brrrrmmmmm... and we walked through the car park with him going bbbrrmmmmm

*Hugs* to all the sick bubbas and mummies having a hard time atm.

    Hi all,
Oh it's going to be a hot one in Sydney today
kts- Go with your gut instincts i reckon. If you feel bubs is healthy and happy, she probably is. We bf on demand but Ty is starting to go off the boob a bit lately. We probably do 3 or 4 feeds a day, before sleeps, and an extra one or two at night. Generally he doesn't want milk in the morning, just food. We are doing three meals a day plus afternoon tea. And he drinks stacks of boiled water from a sippy cup. Tried him with a straw yesterday and he managed ok so i think we'll start with a straw cup soon.

Lauren- Ash is a clever bug isn't he?

Tinsel- We have one of those walker push things put away for Ty's birthday but I am tempted to get it tout earlier, I think he'd love it at the moment.

Hoody- Hope the worst of it is over.

Nic- What a yucky night. But at least the tired toddlers slept well for you by the sounds of it, even if little miss didn't.

Ty is napping, thank god. it's been nothing but whinge whinge whinge since he woke up at 5:30.

ETA- Nic I agree- say mum!!! It's all dadad and nanana here.

Nic - i dont think its hot enough here yet, Ash is only just getting over yet another cold. so hopefully we'll get a warm day before the next cold

I thought mum was one of the first words they say after dad...Ash has been a chatter box for a long time mind you, i have been saying mum to him every day and the second we wake up since he was born..so hes been saying mum for a couple months. I think dad will be the last word he learns,...he only sees him once a week now cos of work, so its too hard to for him to remember.
Advanced in his talking, yet still no teeth hehe - someone on facebook said they were off to see the dentist cos there 16 month old still had no teeth!! OMG

OOhhhh how exciting here.. im starting my studies soon.. i found a course i can do from home - medical admin and termanology then im going back to do lots of nursing courses next yr. I told mum i will pay someone to look after ash cos theres no way i can put him in care, and mum said she would rather look after him so we are gonna go half in hiring someone to look after her shop... that will save me so much money.. yay!

I'd swap today Molly is still unwell. She is alot better but has the runs today so the bug must be working its way through her. She drank about 100mls of milk this morning and had 1/4 of a piece of toast DD1 is really clingy too so i tell ya what aussienic i'll give you 2 for the price of 1.

    Hi ladies,
Nic- Nah, couple of iceblocks won't hurt. Might produce a bit of a sugar rush, which is not good for mummy!! We had a crappity crap night here too- Ty was up partying for half an hour every two hours... he has learned to sit himself up really well and thinks he's quite clever, so he was up practising.

Lauren- yay! Hearing you about day care- one of the mums in my mg left her bub for a trial run with the day care he is starting in two weeks. Came back to pick him up and he was covered in vomit, the workers hadn't even noticed. Eep.

Hoody- poor Molly. Glad she is on the mend a bit.

Damn it is hot here. It was 25 degrees at 5:30am. We are supposed to be doing the grocercies. At least it will be ac'ed!
