Babies Born December 2007 #22

Hi Girls,
How are you all going? Anyone else getting this horrid rain? How do i find out if my parcel was delivered? I have been having trouble with the post office and the other one i sent to my sister didnt get threw. I might give them a ring.
I cant believe my baby is nearly 1 he will be 11 months old tomorrow and is now walking around holding on to furniture and clapping - they grow up so fast.
Ethan wont be having a big party this year - we have one 10 days before christmas and with Ethan 3 days after we were thinking of taking them to the gold coast for the day.
Belated happy 1st birthday to ABBEY! Hope you had a wonderful day. Cant believe that they are all nearly 1!!!
Kids and food. Mine like to share - once one has had enough they tip it into what ever is left in the person sitting next to them plate. By the end we have a nice mess all over the table as the food that they "dont like" is passed along the plates.

OK so I sounded like a nong :redface: I just meant that the refusal to not eat off a spoon was a phase. I taught a kid once who had a gag reflex everytime cutlery got near his mouth so he would only eat finger food and to his parents this meant a bag of crisps to get him through the day :rolleyes:

nah, you didn't sound like a nong (and LOL at nong - my dad used to say that hehe). The spoon thing comes and goes I found.. but the independence is here to stay I'm afraid! hehe.

i meant to be a proud mummy before and brag that Kayla can do the actions to a song! I was well impressed coz Tallon has only recently "lowered" himself to participate in such things LMAO. He's been able to for a long time, but just refused to. But kayla actually anticipates the next action which I thought was very clever.. meant she's not just copying me :)

Lol Alicia don't worry I was hoping they were going to say "oh, don't worry girls, it's just a phase". Wishful thinking hey?? :)

ETA- Liz it's amazing how clever they are hey? I was just impressed Ty has started copying me- if I put something on my head he'll do the same, if I lift my arms he'll do the same. I spend a lot of time atm just blown away by how smart they are at this age.

Bek: I think she is hot. We tried sleeping in AC but she gets a little chilly. I know what works I turn on both the lounge and portable Acs and open the bedroom doors only and it cools the kids room just enough! I might try that again tonight, it was so muggy here last night too.. was 23 over night..

Alicia: you're not a nong :) I thought that to when I had Ethan.. I thought of all these things will pass.. but alas they hit 7 and look out.. you think 1,2,3 or even 4 is a tough age wait till they start school.. oh fun times.. but on the bright side 9 seems an ok age...

you know all this wonder week business I wonder if thats whats up with the miss. the week before her birthday (can't believe she is already 1 still) she was pretty shocking and then started walking a fair bit. then we got needles and that slowed down (poor legs were sore we think) then today she started really climbing. got her bike brought it over to my chair and climbed up on it. then went and stood on a toy. SO I wonder if thats her issue (nic hangs onto to it being a phase lol)

Liz I used 'nong' as I am trying not to swear as Olivia is starting to copy things we say. Yesterday I said 'bugger' and she said 'ugger' straight after me (good thing it wasn't anything worse). She also copied me the other day and said 'nana' after I said banana, so now this is one of her favourite words as she has decided that she can't get enough of nana's.

I agree they are clever little things at this age. The little Miss was in the bath last night with some of her toys and she saw that the whale would sink if she held it under water so she tried making the other toys sink, it frustrated her no end that the lobster kept floating back to the surface :lol: But I was super proud mummy that she seemed to have an idea of floating and sinking already ;)

Jas, I was wondering about the parcel getting there too. I posted mine in heaps of time but still I would hate for someone to miss out. Maybe people could post when they have there parcel? I wont be online on Saturday to see/hear everyone open their pressies.

Well I have mine. dying to open it.. Roll on Saturday!! is it still midday NSW time that we are doing the thang!

I love the age between 12 and 18months, they learn and develope so much. Mind you I do like the other ages too!!! Maybe not the 3yo atm.

Today is our 4th wedding anniversary. I will be online early on Saturday because DH and I are going out for the day. DH's parents have both kids from 11am till late at night. We were going to go for a picnic in the mountains but the weather is either way too hot or rainy. So we've decided to maybe go bowling, then a movie and then dinner. Anyone else got any ideas? DH and I don't go out much we are so boring.

Man of man I now have all day sickness. I never had this with the girls. I am so demotivated I just can't seem to do anything atm.

Best go Loren has banana from one ear to the next.

Yeah Kayla pulls hats off and tries to put them back on. And she tried to put Tallon's sunnies on too. so cute. I've given up on socks with her. She always pulls them off. So she can just suffer cold feet! We were out last night, and she had a dress on, with a cardigan, with bare feet LOL. Aah well.

Adkins - I completely understand where you are coming from with not wanting to go down the baby track again. I felt the same when Sara was 12months old. To be honest I didn't think that we'd acheive pregnancy so easily...One go and the job was done!!!

Very cute Nic...My Olivia loves water too......Bath time is always a happy event here....As soon as Olivia hears the water go on in the bathroom she crawls up there so so fast...

Isn't it cute when they know whats coming.. We just say the word bath and she starts flapping about lol

Well I got to sleep 5 hours straight again but I swear I am tireder this morning. Olivia slept 8 till 4.

oh and so cute! this morning when she went back down for her nap she was asleep in my arms and started talking in her sleep. awe!

Liz- Can't keep socks on Ty either. But he doesn't seem to feel the cold much so it's ok.

Nic- Too cute :) Ty loves the water too, bath time is a big favorite here (although not last night- poor baby bumped his head on the tap and got an egg).

Off to do all my grocery shopping today, we have no food in the house. But I soooo can't be bothered. Ty was up at 5am again but has been pretty good the last couple of nights- 4 hour stretches and went straight to sleep after a feed. Am so tired *yawn*. Feeling your pain Nic :)
Still trying to convince dh we want another baby now. He wants to wait till Ty is two but that seems like a long time away...

Well I got 5 hour sleep last night, averaging 4-5 and it's starting to take its toll on me, I am so forgetful and going to work 3 days a week is exhausting! I feel for you other ladies in the same boat.

Well I'm off to get my car serviced and hit the shops while i wait, I'm not looking forward to that as this time of the year is crazy at the shops!

Lori - tell DH to have bubs now. :D Our theory is that if we have them close together then we are already used to having no sleep and have the "pain" at the same time. A friend was telling me that the hardest thing for her was getting used to sleeping through again and then having another bub. On the plus side of having a gap between, the first one may be close to toilet trained and can walk everywhere.

Nic - that is a good sleep. Monique slept really well last night (up briefly at 1am and 5am) but I had trouble sleeping :rolleyes: We had a really big storm come through at about 4am for an hour and I didn't sleep much through that time. Then I was hot and cold all night.

adkins - welcome back.

Bek - happy anniversary. Did you get up to much? The all day sickness sucks doesn't it. I have to get something in my tummy at all times or I get sick really quickly. Good to see you in our BB thread too.

Liz - Monique is the same. She always tries to put things on her head and she tried to put her socks and shoes back on the other day. It is so cute to watch our little sponges copying everything.

Buzzie - Thanks for the birthday list. You are very organised. Getting excited for your interview?

Alicia - Monique says nana too and LOVES her bananas. She gets super excited when she sees me peel one for her and it is gone in no time.

I am busy organising Monique's birthday party and as my family will all be in town, I am organising a christmas lunch the next day. I don't know where I'm going to find the time to do all the baking and preparation but I'm sure I'll get there. We are going to tell our families that Monique will be a big sister at her party but I don't have my ultrasound until the week after. My iron levels are borderline so need to take another supplement but I suspected that might be the case. The next few weeks are busy. Have a good day everyone.

Lori: Olivia is always standing in the bath.. We give her 3 chances then shes out lol.. tough ones we are.. We have already had one child split their chin in the bath I can't handle that again..

Adkins: The lack of sleep really does take its toll doesn't it.. funnily enough 5 hours makes me feel on top of the world :lol:

Hello everyone Sorry i've been MIA for the last 3 days but i've been soooo busy I am working 4 days this week (well evening/nights) So during the day i have been knackered and had lots to do. I tell ya i am too good to DH. I am working this evening from 4pm - 10pm so i have already been food shopping, made & dished up the girls dinner (jsut needs reheating at tea time), bathed both girls, laid out their pj's for him, Made him some pin wheels for a snack when he comes home and his dinner is in the slow cooker. Am i the only MAD one who babies my DH when he has to look after the kids :doh: I think i'm digging myself a whole but TBH if things arent done for him everything would fall apart. Last night i did the same shift 4pm-10pm and he FORGOT to give Molly dinner :wall: Needless to say i was awoken by a hungry bub at 5am this morning. Mind you i dont know how he forgot it was right next to DD1's in the fridge and labelled. Because of our early morning Molly's sleeps are out of wack today so she is a little cranky. I have left her outside in her baby swing and she is for now talking happily to herself. (i can see her from the comp) Well i am off to fold the washing etc b4 i have to get organised to go. I will try and pop back in after work or tomo morning depending on how tired i am to do personals :)

Tinsel - congrats on your pregnancy too, how is everything going?

Nic - she looks like a sleeping angel, what a beautiful girl!

Hoody - my goodness, where do you find the time? You must be super organised! I wish I could do that but Jake seems to need constant attention and I only just get through making dinner each night before a tantrum starts, let alone being able to do all the other housework, that has to wait til DH gets home so he can entertain him while I finish off the housework!

What has everyone got planned for 1st birthday parties (or what did you do if it's already passed!)?
We're having a party with family and friends at home for bout 30 people, probably a bbq. It's a lunch time thing as we have our work xmas party the same night, and Jake is having his first sleepover at nan's (I warned her he doesn't sleep he he). We're staying in the city that night and I can't wait!

Hmmm, that reminds me I must order Mr Jake's cake, I'm not much of a baker. What kind of cake are you all having? Aargh, so many questions!!

Adkins- I am a very organised person to the point where DH thinks i have OCD tendancies :redface: I literally cant sit still if there are things to be done iykwim. For Molly's birthday we had a party at home starting at 2pm so it didnt interupt her sleep. We had about 20kids plus 20 or so adults. We did lots of snacky foods such as home made sausage rolls, basic sandwiches, fruit platter (a massive hit with the lil kids) and a basic sausage sizzle. We borrowed a friends bouncy castle for entertainment and basically just let the kids play. Most of them where too young for games etc. I did loot bags for when they were leaving which contained
A freddo
Bubbles
2 different sheets of stickers
A Balloon
5 natural confectionary lollies
A whistle blower thing
I tried to keep it fun but not all junk food iykwim. My gorgeous friend made my cake as my DD1 is anaphylactic to eggs so we (ok she) used an egg replacer. If you add me as a friend on FB i have lots of pics up from the day.

YAY Molly is having another sleep (she generally only has one now) she really needed it from our early start.

I'll have to get on facebook, but our internet is do damn slow out here, we've just moved out of the city to a more country setting, I must do something about this! Oh, what's your name for facebook lol!
I wish Jake would have another sleep, he's only had half an hour today and is bouncing off the walls... oh well atleast he's happy!

Adkins - I ordered Ashs cake too. Its costing me $120 and is only for a few ppl but its a wiggles cake, SOO cute. he loves the wiggles so i wanted it to be special for him.

Hoody - how terrible dh forget poor mollys dinner.. its always the things labeled and ready to go they miss!!
Mums hubby eats ALL of Ashs food even tho theres a big note on the fridge saying dont eat! derrrr!! gets me furious!!

Ash is offically a standing baby today..lol took him to playdays play centre and he kept pushing the rideons around then pushing them and standing still. got some great piccies.. what a cutie! wonder when the walking will happen now... :D

Christmas tree is up! no decorations yet tho, lol getting new ones on the weekend...wwooot!!

oh Interview is on monday!! aaaaaaaahhhh!
Thankgod my ABC centre is NOT closing!!! everyone around us is tho so there gonna be a huge rush to get into this one. she told me i got my enrolment in very early so i shouldnt have a prob! god its getting nerve wracking!

I have sore throat and runny nose..poor me:( Man I am exhausted. I have done heaps of hair this week and cleaned my friends house. I am so glad it is Friday. 3 sleeps till my scan, and 7 sleeps till we go away...yey

Jake's been standing on his own for about 2 weeks now, he took his first two steps last night, I couldn't believe it! He hasn't done it since though, but it was so cute!

Thanks adkins, im a Specialist dental nurse, this job for paediatric dentistry, something i have not yet done as i was previously more into the blood and guts surgery side of things, so very nervous as its working on babies to 18yrs and once a week in hospital under GA to the kiddies that are too frightened or cant sit still, going to be really sad, its heart breaking watching a baby be put under. I went to watch my niece done when she was one i think, or 2 cant remember, but it was sooooo sad seeing a tiny little body covered in tubes, little own being my own family!! - But i love my job so just gotta do what ya gotta do!
If i dont get this i think ill just find something more part time so i can spend more time with ash for one more year.

I want to put our Chrissy Tree up now too,but DH said not now,it`s bad luck. :rolleyes: I can`t wait for Kieren to see the Tree all decorated with the coloured lights on,it`s more exciting this year at least I will be pain free,last year wasn`t so good after the C- Section,you all know what i mean.

Susan- Hi how are you? Dh won't let me put our tree up yet either. Is Keiran teething too? Ty's just got tooth #5 and #6 is on it's way through.

Lauren- I'll jump on tomorrow morning. I knwo this sounds ridiculous, but I'm hoping I don't forget! I've been such an airhead the last couple of days, my memory is terrible and I keep having :doh: moments. But I'm excited about opening Ty's pressie!

Adkins- I've got a bit of a high maintenance baby too, needs lot of attention. He's a bit better now he's crawling and can do his own thing, so I'm hoping he'll get less clingy again when he starts walking. That won't be for a while yet I don't think, thank goodness! :D We're just doing a b'day bbq here, about 20 people- only direct relatives and Ty's godparents. I have a few balloons and a banner I will throw up somewhere in the lounge room :) I am going to make a cake (actually have to start thinking about that, glad you reminded me) but *ahem* dh wants me to order a bakery one as well- he says it's better to have two and evrything be ok, rather than one burnt homemade one and a potential disaster :redface: obviously no faith in my cooking skills...

Hoody- lol my dh says I have OCD tendencies too but I'm nowhere near as organised as you! That's amazing.

I get a sleep in tomorrow morning, dh is getting up with Ty. I love weekends :)

Hi Lori, we are all fine thanks,just busy,like most at this time of year. I think Kieren could be cutting some more teeth,he`s been un well the last couple of day`s,maybe it`s our stupid weather too,he has the sniffles.
