Buzzie - I haven't seen Grey's for ages either. I like Brothers and Sisters which is coming back in Feb. We pretty much have to record anything we want to watch these days. I'm off to the Australian Open Tennis in less than 2 weeks and can't wait.

Lori - I know exactly how you feel about trying to organise the wedding. DH was so stressed about it that we ended up getting married in Scotland with 8 friends and travelled around. Was lovely. My DH had a bad attitude last week and it was because he was back at work. He is much better after we go on our little neighbourhood walk when he gets home and he has a vent. I'm in the reply bit so can't see your Avi but will check her out when I hit submit.

adkins - the makeup consult sounds great. I have always wanted to do that.

Monique woke up about midnight last night but then slept until 8.50am - that is the first time in 7 months that she has slept that long without waking - woohoo. However I was awake at 4am anticipating her waking up as that is her usual wake up time at the moment. Her sleep patterns through the night are getting so much better I just hope she continues to sleep through.

Lori - excellent avi.

Lori - We had a lovely wedding with just close family (16 people) at a really nice hotel in the city (The Windsor). They had a wedding coordinator so basically I just had to book the private room then they kept me on schedule for organising stuff. It was very hassel free :D and it was much cheaper than we were expecting. Also after the dinner we just had to head upstairs to our room.

Tinsel - Will you be down in Melbourne long? We should have a meet up.

Adkins - i love a good spoiling. Enjoy the pampering.

I am off to the movies tonight with a friend. We are going to see a 'Girls Night Out' showing of Bride Wars. The price included movie ticket, glass of bubbly and a goodie bag, I am really looking forward to it.

Alicia - unfortunately it is going to be a whirlwind trip for me. I am flying in on the Saturday with 3 of my sisters and then we are spending the whole day/night at the tennis and will be back again on the Sunday and then flying back home on the Monday. I start work on the Tuesday after having 14 months off :(

If I had more time (and Monique) I would love to catch up with the Melbourne mums.

Tinsel - woohoo on all that sleep, we had a good night too after I finally got the little monster to bed at 10pm after trying for 2 hours! The tennis sounds great too, bummer you don't have more time over there. How are you feeling about returning to work?

Is bb crashing for everyone else today? Every time i try to get on it says database error and have only been able to get on a couple of times today for a couple of minutes!

I've just posted this on another thread but was wondering what you all get up to with your bubs during the day? It's gonna be 43 here tomorrow (aargh!) and I really hate going out in the heat but don't know what to do to keep the 2 of us occupied for a whole day! Any ideas?

Ladies- Glad you are all doing well. SOrry lack of personals but about to head out the door to go to my MIL's for dinner. Dont know how that happened considering DH is OS's but anyway. Molly has her specialist appt tomo i am really nervous but cant wait at the same time so i will at least know where we go from here iykwim. Take care and i'll BBL tomo to update.

Janine- We normally go outside, we've got a sandpit and a paddling pool (and a cat for Ty to follow around). But if we're stuck inside, I highly recomend getting the cushions of the lounge and the pillows off the bed and making a baby obstacle course to crawl around on. Ty loves it and it wears him out real good :D A sheet to play parachute type games with (like you did in primary school?) is good too.

Alicia- Oooh a goody bag let us know what you get :lol: You're wedding sounds lovely but dh wants every man and his dog there :rolleyes: we've agreed on 50 ppl :o That seems huge to me...

Tinsel- Wooot ont he sleep, I am sooo jealous (not of the you waking up bit but, that sux!)

ETA- BTW, massage was awesome :)

Lori - Love your avi. Organising a wedding can be stressful and expensive....my advice do what you want not what you think others want!!!!!

Tinsel - yey on Moniques sleep!!

Adkins - A paddle pool is a must!!!! I add coloured balls to our pool and Loren loves transferring the pools from the pool to me..of course she says ta for reach ball. Put on a nursery rhyme CD and do the actions..pretend you are hosting playschool. In the late arvo go for a walk just to get out.

Miss Loren had her needles today. She actually cried more when the nurse was doing her measurements. She is suffering serious stranger issues atm. She is 10kgs and 80cms, exactly the same as Sara at the same age.

BTW I have felt some butterflies in my tummy!!!

Bek: yay on butterflies. HOw many weeks are you now? I felt Jacob (my 3rd) at 13 weeks :) I swear I felt something at 10 but wasn't 100% sure... but definetly at 13.

Lori: How nice to have a massage.. Not sure if I would feel comfortable with a stranger but would love one from Simon :) won't complain he rubs my sore foot most nights. Glad your Dp didn't want to talk about anything to serious. hope you smacked the side of his head for worrying you all day

Hoody: Hope dinner went well.. Where is your Dh at the moment? What does he do OS? How long is he gone for?

Adkins: With Olivia we just play little games and talk or she plays with her toys. Most of the time she plays with the boys though lol. I guess I have it a little easier.. When I just had Ethan we would go to the park or to the beach or we would play under the sprinkler. read books, colour in. I used to do playdough with Ethan but I didn't once I had more kids. Olivia would just eat it so I will wait till she is a bit older. She loves to colour in and loves those doodle things you know the ones where you draw and slide the thingy across to clear the drawing?

Alicia: What a lovely sounding wedding.. I bet it was just perfect

Olivia went on the trampoline yesterday afternoon and she finally worked out what to do and you should have seen the grin on her face lol.. so cute! Life is getting so easy now.. with sleep and a child that walks and easy to cart places..

Does anyone sit thier bubs on the toilet at all? Every now and then when I remember I pop her on the big toilet before her bath.. I certainly don't expect anything but its just to familarise her with it kwim? Last night was so funny. Simon was bathing her and jacob and he yelled I need your help :lol: Olivia had pooed everywhere in the bath,, oh boy did I laugh and laugh.. He was like oooohh im gunna vomit. I said oh be a big boy :lol: and went back to washing the dishes.. Damnit was funny..

anyways my princess has decided to crack the poops cus I won't let her play with the remotes :lol: and now she is screaming at me.. she is good at chucking tantrums I tell ya..

Nic - LOL at Olivia pooing in the bath. Loren did the same thing to Sara and Sara freaked out big time. I am nearly 15wks..best get a ticker going.

Bek - Congratulations on the little butterflies! I remember when I was pregnant I wasn't sure for ages about what I was feeling in there, but I guess by your third you know what to expect.

Lori - The goodie bags were quite good - shampoo and conditioner, lip gloss, tanning moisturiser, hair spray, chocolate and tampons!?!? Well I guess it was advertised as a girls night out :rolleyes:

Hoody - I hope the appointment goes well.

Adkins - We usually play in the sandpit (it is in the shade), go in the paddling pool, read books, sing or just play with Olivia's toys. We got a Fisher Price Kitchen a little while ago and Olivia can play in it for ages, so we 'cook' together on her little stove. Although at the moment she is trying to get under the couch (she has no hope)

Nic - We haven't quite tried drawing yet (thinking about trying today), but we did try finger paint which Olivia just liked throwing rather than painting with :rolleyes:

Quick question out of curiousity - Just how chatting are your bubs? Olivia talks ALL the time at home. She gets quite loud and insisted and is definately trying to tell us things lots of the time. But she also talks loudly to her toys and books. She is especially loud when she is 'reading'.

Nic- :rofl: I do kinda feel sorry for Jacob, poor kid :) Clever Olivia, bouncing and colouring in, I'm so impressed!! I was too releived to slap the man tbh... I was picturing something so bad, it was nice to know it was actually nothing. Glad the sleep is getting easier for you too, that's good :) I wish Ty was walking- it would be a bit easier to go places if he could walk around and cause havoc when he's restless, rather than just screaming in the pram or wacking me to put him on the floor. It's one thing to see a kid walking around, but I juts can't put him on the floor at Big W to crawl around :lol: ykwim?

Bekz- Woot on the butterflies, that is so super exciting... only 25 weeks to go :D

We had a record sleep here last night- none hours straight, from 7pm till 4am. And I went to bed at ten, so I got six. Feel so good today, especially after that massage.

Our swimming lessons start again today. We had a new teacher for our last week last year and she wasn't very good, I'm hoping we don't have the same one permanentley.

ETA- Hi Alicia :) Ty has started getting very chatty lately... I'm sure he thinks we can understand exactly what he says, he's so insistent on some things...

Alicia: Olivia is very loud too . and if the boys do something that peeves her off boy oh boy does she scream.. Actually a little funny.. yesterday in the car we obviously weren't paying enough attention to her and she screamed so loud we were all a little deaf for a few seconds :lol: but then she grinned and did it again..

Lori: yeh I don't let crawling babies down either. Olivia likes to get down and then she pretends she is going to walk our way then she stops and takes off in the other direction laughing her head off.. So much fun :lol: (for now)

Man it’s hot here already, the a/c is cranked up just incase we have a power blackout which is likely to happen so the house will be nice and cool, lets hope if it happens it doesn’t last long.

Hoody – good luck today! I hope all goes well. Let us know how you get on.

Lori – fantastic idea re the cushions, I would never of thought of that! It’s on my list (which is still quite small!) of things to do today! Glad to hear the massage was great, I’m so looking forward to my make up consult on Saturday, I haven’t been to a beauty salon for so long! We had 50 people at our wedding and it was just enough, definitely wouldn’t have any more, when we started our plans it was just immediate family and grew from there, more pressure from my mum to invite others than anyone, so she ended up paying for half lol!

Bekz – we’ve got a paddle pool but not much shade to go out in it on these awful days. But we will definitely be in it when the heat of the day is over. Woohoo on feeling those gorgeous flutters, it’s such a beautiful feeling isn’t it?

Nic – would definitely be easier (in some respects!) to have other kids to entertain Jake, but I reckon it’d be a lot of hard work too! I was thinking about getting some playdough but I think Jake would eat it as well, although he is getting better at not putting everything in his mouth. Maybe in a few months. How funny about the bath incident last night, we haven’t had that happen yet, I’m waiting for it though to see DH’s reaction as he baths Jake every night!

Alicia – how was the movies last night? Jake chatters all the time, especially through shopping centres, he’s so loud! Not that I can understand a lot of what he’s trying to say but we’re getting there.

Molly's appt is in an hr so just killing some time before i go. I am really nervous which is unusual for me as normally i dont stress iykwim. My mum was supposed to come with me but cant get the time off work so i think its just cos i'm going alone. Thankfully a friend has DD1 for the day.

Nic- DH is just on holiday AGAIN he's gone back to Vietnam so i am a little anxious for his return as when he came home last time all our issues started and we'd just got back on track but when speaking to him he actually sounds like he misses us this time. He even said he might try and come home earlier as he's about had enough (he still has another 2 wks) I think i will go on a girls weekend away with my sisters in the next couple of months so i get a break too and then we will do a family holiday together.

Adkins- Hope you are nice and cool and that your power stayed on :)

Ash had his first childcare 'alone' day today.. He was pretty upset in the morning but did just fantastic after a little while, the lady was impressed. Although he clung to them like a monkey on there hip but that was ok. They couldnt get him to sleep and i picked him up then cos hes so used to being BB fed to sleep. so im trying to express a bottle for him for tomorrow.. gees its not as easy as when he was a newbie!! Loved that he slept for 2 hours straight as soon as he got home! :D

Ash is offically a walker.. i love it.. just waddles everywhere now. soooo cute!!

Lauren/Adkins - The movie was good, but I wouldn't rave about it. Had a great night out though seeing as it was baby free.

Hoody - Fingers crossed for the appointment.

Olivia is not quite as loud when we are out but still talks a lot. She is not saying a lot of real words but just chatters all the time. At the moment it is very cute (even when she is deafening me) but I think it will be a lot harder to tune out when they are actual sentences coming out of her mouth.

Not much to report here today, just did the housework and played with the munchkin. Thank goodness for aircon! I did make the mistake of going for a bit of a walk at 10am, thinking it wouldn't be that hot yet, but boy was I wrong - the walk was definately cut short.

Yeh was a stinker!! and so early in the day! tonight will suck.

I pulled Ashs balls out his ball pit and his been playing in water this arvo! just loved it, will upload pics to his FB soon.

We've just had a play in the paddling pool too. Now time for dinner.

Hi all..

Olivia had her reweigh this afternoon and she hasn't gained a thing :( not one tiny ounce since she was 6 months old.. I don't know whats going on.. We now have to get refered to a pead as even though she is healthy looking and all that her not gaining weight is a concern now :(

She did grow 1cm this month though and is now 75cm and her head circ is fine.. So her current weight is 8.6kg.. I have increased her food and meat intake.. BM is 3-5 times a day depending..

I also have to go see a dietician.. I am worried I am doing something wrong.. How can I be? I grew 3 very big healthy boys.. I am doing nothing different with her.. aagghh its doing my head in

Oh nic dont feel like its you. Mums know best and if you feed her properly like i'm sure you do then you shouldnt be too worried. Could it be that maybe she is just very active and burns off alot and has a high metabolism.

Well Molly's appt went OK today. A good thing is for now we do nothing and then in 6 months she will need orthopedic inserts for her shoes. On the down side its not just her feet and legs its ALL her ligaments and joints, ankles, knees, hips, wrists etc etc. She has very lax ligaments so she is SUPER flexible etc. Apparently this is why she stands funny as she has trouble getting her balance. The specialist says she may walk in 2 wks or 6 months it all depends but when she does she WILL more than likely have a limp and it will take her longer to master it. He did say that hopefully over time her Achilles tendon and muscles in her legs would become stronger and help take some of the "stress" off her ligaments etc and give her a more 'normal' stride. He was a little concerned about her hips so we had to have Xrays and i will get a call to see weather they are ok or if he will need to see us again sooner.

Hoody: Glad the appointment went well. Hope everything is ok with her hips..

I know there is nothing wrong with Olivia but the worry is still there kwim? Mummy Instinct says she is fine just tiny..

So everyone is enjoying this horrible heat ? It's supposed to get to 38 here today and 41 degrees tomorrow. Poor Tehya goes back o pre school tomorrow, nice first day back. YUCK. Even worse having to go out at 3pm to get her.

Abbey started her swim survival classes yesterday. She did pretty well. Of course the first lesson is the easy one, she gets held the whole time. I put a little snipit on my FB page. By the end of her lesson she had just submitted and was laying quietly almost drifting off to sleep.

Nic, hugs hun, I'm sure it's a very worrying time for you. Olivia isn't far off Abbey's weight. And she surely looks healthy enough, just petite. My girls are the same. But I do understand that it would be concerning for no weight gain at all in 6 months. Could it be that she has gained but lost it before her next weigh in. She's very active now so will burn it all off fast.

Hoody, wow that's a big lot to take in. Fingers crossed she can prove the Dr's wrong and learn to walk soon and nice and straight too. Hoping that her xrays come back good too.

Alicia, Abbey for the most part is noisey! She is a squealer and it kills me. I hate squealing. Seriously does my head in.

Lauren, Happy Birthday hun. I hope you have a fantastic day. Sounds like Ash is transitioning ok to day care. It's a big change for them, esp for bubs that are used to being bf to sleep to suddenly not have it. I know Abbey is a right PITA if I'm not around to feed her to sleep.

Adkins, hope you didn't get a black out there. Can already feel the heat creeping up here too. Must get my washing out soon or it won't be hung out.

OMG I soooo need drawer locks. Abbey is raiding them and pulling everything out. She really has started to get into mischief. She walks most of the time now which looks just way too cute. We think she got an electric shock yesterday. She has a bad habit of crawling under the table and pulling out the tv plug, we heard the tv go off and Noah goes Ohh ohhh, DP ran in there just as the house blacked out, so the safety switch must have flicked, Abbey started screaming, but had gotten away from the plug, so we aren't sure if she got zapped or if she bumped her head on the table or just from fright. Either way it scared the crap out of us. I looked her over and couldn't find any marks on her. Who knows. DP has tried to cover up the power point some more, but you know what babies and little kids are like, if she wants to ge to it she will.

Nic- :hug: for you. Olivia is the same size as Ty (tiny), but he has out on about 300 gms in last six months. Maybe she is just tiny? And she'd have to be buring off a lot of energy running around the way she is. Hope you get soem answers hun.

Well we had a different swim teacher but still very useless. She had her won son in the pool with her and spent most of the lesson with him. Rang today to change lessons times and teachers and tell them about it. The chick on the end of the phone didn't take me very seriously so I'm emailing the manager.

We're doing Take 2 for needles today... didn't go last week coz it was too hot, and it's another hot day today. Poor kid, but I am working next week at the hospital so they have to be done now :(

We didn't end up having a blackout yesterday which was great! Jake and I survived the day cooped up in the house, did some drawing, but he decided eating the pencils was better than drawing with them... oh well, he did get a little bit of drawing but is having a little trouble working out that only one end of the pencil draws lol! Hope everyone else is surviving the heat too, we've got a little relief here today with 34 deg.

Hoody - hugs to you hun, atleast now you know exactly what's going on and as the dr said, as she gets older it will get better. Hope the xrays turn out ok too.

Nic - Jake is only around 8.4kg too so I wouldn't worry too much, we just have little bubs I think! Mummy instincts are usually right!

Trish - Jake does exactly the same thing with out fish tank cord, it really is so difficult to keep them away from those sort of things, there's only so much you can "Jake proof" as i call it, so I know exactly how you feel!

Hi to anyone I've missed!

Well, I hate to brag ladies but I'm going to anyway... Jake slept through last night, woohoo! Went to bed at 9:30 last night (we still need to work on the actual getting to sleep part) and I woke him up at 7am this morning when we had to leave for nan's house (work day today). I couldn't believe it!! Here's hoping it's the start of no more waking but I think I'm being a little too optomistic (sp?). Hope you all had a good sleep too.

I'd be so annoyed re the swimming lessons you pay for the lesson so you should expect that the teacher is professional and not treating it as a one on one with her kid! Good on you for emailing the manager.
Jake was supposed to go for his needles yesterday but i wasn't taking him out in 40+ heat so we're going Friday, not looking forward to it!

Its sucha nice day here today.. Cool wind.. I wouldn't say beeze cus its blowing a gale lol.. but it reminds me of a warm spring day.. nice!!

Olivia is now napping for the morning.. She has changed her sleep patterns again.. Boy was she cranky so I am glad she is asleep :lol:

Trish and Adkins - We got some power point covers on ebay to go over the power points in the bedrooms (because they are the ones that Olivia can get to easily), they are a clear plastic thing that sticks to the wall and covers the whole power point, You can take the front bit off though if you want to plug something else in. It is one of the best things we bought when babyproofing.

Nic - Olivia seems so happy and healthy I am sure its not much to worry about. Although I understand why you are. Like you said you raised 3 healthy boys so it might just be that Olivia is a little petite girl.

Lori - That seems very unprofessional of the swim teacher. I wouldn't have thought they would be allowed to have their own child in their class.

Hoody - At least now you have more of an idea of what's going on, I think it is always worse when you don't know what is happening and just imagine the worse. It sounds like the specialist is being is taking things one step at a time which is great.

OK my turn to brag too - Olivia has slept through the last 2 nights!!! About 8:30 - 8:30!!! Of course I have still been waking to check on her but still at least there has been 2 nights without middle of the night crying, it really in the one thing about motherhood that I struggle with.

Oooh also wanted to point out my new ticker :-) I know I am biased but what a gorgeous girl!

Adkins: yay on sleep.. Doesn't it make you feel better when they sleep all night.. I hate when Livi wakes now..

Trish - i was gonna recomended the thing Alicia said, the power board cover thing.... GREAT idea!! target have them for about $25 i think it is, and just fits over the power board with just the cords sticking out..

Lori - How horrible the instructor did that! good on you for complaining about it, i would of done the same... they so shouldnt let parents have there own kids in with them!

Well Ash is on day 2, i put him down and he went straight to the table and played with toys, didnt bat an eye lid at me and i was talking to the carer, then i said bye ash and he CRIED!! chased after me and didnt want me to go, but the lady picked him up and im sure he would of been ok after she distracted him but it was sad to leave on that note! :( ive expressed a bottle today so hoping they can get him to sleep!!

Alicia and Adkins - woohoo on the sleep. I'm having a better nights sleep here too but I'm now trying to get her to stay in her cot to sleep.

Alicia - Monique is a little chatterbox too and she can get quite loud. The things she comes out with are so funny it makes us laugh and she cracks herself up as well. We have no idea what she is saying though. It will be funny when she puts sentences together.

Lori - grrr I would be cranky at the instructor too. Hope it works out. Ty will be fine with the needles. I thought Monique and I would be crying but she only had a few tears and was over it when I distracted her. I managed to stay composed as well :D

Bek - how wonderful to feel the flutters. I swear I felt them about 2 weeks ago and has been on and off since then. I never felt it with Monique until much later so it's exciting. Reminds me that I'm pregnant as well although the large stomach does that too :rofl: (I've always wanted to use that one). Did I tell you our 20 week scan is on Valentines Day? I think that is so sweet and can't wait.

Needles went a-ok. Had a big heartbreaking cry and was calling out 'Mum' 'Mum' :( But back to his happy self in about 5 minutes flat :)

I found a stroller while I was out walking with Jus (MIA Buddy member!) this morning. It's a good one, and in great nic... just laying in a park near us. I've stripped the cover off, it's in the wash, and will give it a good scrub :dance: I was just about to go and buy one, I'm so glad I didn't.

Buzzie - Happy Birthday!!! Glad Ash is settling into daycare.

Tinsel - My scan is the 16th. Are you going find out the sex?

Nic - Now miss Nic, you are doing everything right with miss O. :hugs:

Hoody - Good to hear the Molly's apt went well. I am sure with some physio and therapy that she'll be just fine. A cousin of mine has a boy who had growth/muscle issues (and a major heart condition) and he did not walk till he was 2yo. He is 3 now and boy he can move!!!

Trish - Hi, I feel so sorry for you being school hols hon. Miss Loren is into everything and climbing everywhere. I had a bad mummy moment yesterday. Loren climbed onto the lounge which I knew she did, instead of going to get her off I let her go. I turned my back and what do ya know Loren falls backwards onto the floor. At least she didn't get back on the lounge for the rest of the arvo.

I have a decision to make ladies. Do I put Loren in daycare before our new bub is here or do I keep her at home? I started Sara in daycare at 15 months and at the time she was a very confident non clingy baby. I had no issues at all, expect she got sick alot the first winter. I wasn't going to put Loren in until she was 2plus, mainly because she is more clingy and hates strangers, and I did not want her to be sick all the time over winter when I have a new born at home. People have suggested I start her early so that she can get over seperation anxiety and that she'll be used to going before the new bub comes. What do you think? My other alternative is to get a occassional baby sitter or a cleaner to help me out. Any thoughts?

Bekz - I would be inclined to get a cleaner rather than use childcare, but that's just me. It depends if there are other reasons as to why you want to put Loren in daycare ie. to socialise her etc. The last thing you'd feel like doing with a newborn and your girls would be cleaning if you got a spare minute! But again, that's just my opinion.

Bekz - as i have learnt these last couple days, as heart breaking as it may seem, i think you will love as well as NEED the quiet space with bubs. Fair enough the sickness thing, but if your breast feeding number #3 maybe he/she might just be ok.

I had a call from ABC about 11.35 Ash was fast asleep!! OMG!!!! i was blown away, i thought they would never be able to get him down!
He refused the milk in the bottle so she put it in a sippy cup and he drank it and fell asleep and they put him down on a mat on the floor with all the other toddlers - Oh forgot to mention.... hes the ONLY baby there, so he had to be in the toddler room - which isnt far off his age anyways but he was learn things much faster watching them.
So i said call me when hes awake and see if hes ready to be picked up... its 1.45 and he has just woken up... and hes playing fine...Woohoo!
Better go pick him up! cant wait for my cuddles!!

I am having a nice day today.. I got heaps of sleep as did the kids so they are happy to.. Were driving me mental this morning but not being naughty just being kids.. the lady from across the road came over and we chatted till lunch time and apparently I am going over there this afternoon lol.. Isaac and her boy are both starting school this year same school but different classes..

Anyways will be nice to have someone to chat to on a regular basis :)
