Mum and dad seem to be ok still. They are near the Kilmore and Kinglake fires and I know at least 3 people who I went to school with who have lost their homes, it really is aweful. My parents are staying as their town is one of the evacuation points at the moment so they think they will be ok, although they are surrounded by smoke and ash is falling all over the place.
My sister is in Bendigo so we were also a bit worried about her and her famly but she rang this morning to say they are ok, although her brother-in-law thinks he lost his house.
It really is scary and I feel so useless being in Melb.
