Hi Girls sorry i havent been around lately. I have just finished my Teacher aide course. I sent my last assignment away on the weekend so now to hear back. Uni started yesterday as well, boy i am so slow i havent even got my textbooks for this semester yet.
The kids are all good, just wish they would sleep a bit better.
Buzzie - glad to hear that things went well with the meet the extended rob family dinner. If ethan was a boy we were calling him Ruby all along as well. Jack and charlie even called him ruby for the first month and half of his life.
Bekz - i love Eva, very modern. It does fit in nice with the other girls names as well. Yes we as the mother have every right to change it at the last minate if we so choose;)
Lori - good stuff on the "nite" ritual. Hope your morning sickness is getting better.
Hoody - hope all goes well with molly's specialist she is doing really well, dont you love it when they start to climb.

Hi all the other lovely mums. Not much happening here. We have a public holiday next Monday (yay) so we are off to Brisbane for the weekend and will *hopefully* get a chance to catch up with Bek. Monique still doesn't sleep at childcare so passes out when she gets home and then goes to bed about 9pm :rolleyes: Working full time is crazy because we don't get to do our big grocery shop during the week and the washing gets huge. We don't even get to go for our evening walk because Monique is too tired (or passed out) from childcare. sigh. It will be nice when I'm not at work. Only 11.5 weeks to go.

Working full time is so tiring with a child.. I didn't make it to 12 months with Ethan.. I just couldn't manage it. How many weeks of pg do you have left? I can't work it out from the due date.. And dang I will be away lol.. I will have mobile internet (anyone know anything about that?) So will check in to see if you have had bub or not :)

Me. not really... i had to take ash to the emergeny room last night hes got a viral infection and is home today with me... first week of full time work and i have my first day off on day 3. but i dont care i would rather be with ash. It was sooo horrible last night. he was shivering really bad and sweating at the same time. vomiting everywhere in the hospital...had a temp of 39!! ohh the poor little thing!! prob from childcare no doubt! I ive been with my boss for 4 years now and have only ever asked for 1 day off when my back went being pregnant right at the end... i so hope im not going to be asking all the time from ashie getting sick..... :(

Not up to much DH forgot so feeling a little flat. Molly is good still falling off the couch lots :doh: cant keep her off it and she just doesnt get the getting down backwards thing. I have my trial for the apprenticeship tomo so all been well i'll have some good news.
Gonna be busy over the next few days as i'm doing the trial tomo then working Fri,Sat, Sun and Mon at my Caring Job. So sorry in advance if i am not about very much.

Nic - BB was sooo slow for me last night and somehow my post went through 3 times :doh: I am 22 weeks pregnant now so only 18 left (if she arrives on time) and only 12 weeks of work left. After all my paid leave I think I will stay home with the kids for a few years depending on our financial situation but it just means we have to rent for a while longer which is fine by us. Would rather spend time with the kids while they are little instead of stressing over a mortgage (I know that lots of mums have to go back to work to pay the bills and I know how hard it is).
Buzzie - poor little Ashy bug. Sending get well vibes. I always feel bad when I call in sick (for me or Monique) but I know she needs mummy so that is more important.
Hoody - I hope DH has made it up to you today. Good luck tomorrow.
MoM - how's the sick household today?
The carers were saying today that Monique has settled in really well and is not as clingy as she used to be. She had an hour sleep today which is a nice change but would be happier if she had more. Gosh she is so tall now. She is so cute when she has big chats with me but she looks at me like I should know what she is saying and she repeats herself. I tell her mummy doesn't know what she is saying and she gets cranky at me when I try and narrow it down :rolleyes:

Nic- Gee just when you think the little ones are getting into a really good sleep pattern,it just doesn`t seem to last long enough.Sometimes when Kieren wakes now i offer him a drink,then tell him lay on your pillow,he`s pretty good,i don`t get too,many tears from him or sometimes he likes a cuddle then he falls asleep on my shoulder and i can put him straight back into the cot.
Well,i better be off,got to go & get some food shopping done today....or we will be eating the grass for dinner,lol.

Susan - Our eating issue at the moment is that Olivia is refusing to eat anything that she can't eat on her own. So anything (except yoghurt) that I try to give her on a spoon is instantly rejected :rolleyes: She is trying to be Miss Independent but I also think she is getting fussy because her teeth are moving around. I've decided that for a little while it doesn't matter if she just has finger food or fruit and yoghurt for dinner, at least she is eating something. We took her to a paediatric (sp?) dentist a few weeks ago and she said that it looks like Livi's molars are coming up so we are putting a lot of the fussiness and grumpiness down to that at the moment.
Nic - We have had a few very bad nights lately with Olivia. For some reason she has been waking up absolutely hysterical at about 10:30-11pm and refusing to go back to sleep without a lot of cuddling and rocking.
Lauren - I'm glad the dinner went well. The photos on FB were great, I am sure Ash will love growing up with cousins about the same age as him.

I went to a mums and bubs movie session yesterday and I still can't get over the mum who was sitting in front of me. She had twins with her who were about 4 months old who were happily gurgling and sometimes having a little (and I mean little) whinge and this woman just turned to them (they were on the couch next to her) and said 's**t up' - more than once!!! She didnt try quietly saying 'shhhhh' or rocking them or feeding them, she just jumped straight to swearing! I can understand getting frustrated but seriously these bubs were being very good and much better than Olivia was being (I just kept feeding her and talking quietly to her as a distraction). Olivia was in fact a little pain at the movie but really I wasn't expecting to get to sit there in peace, I mean how can you expect the littles to be perfectly quiet for the 2 hours that you want them to be?!

Olivia pretty much refuses to eat unless she is sitting with the boys. I did manage to get her to sit in the high chair last night but I don't think she ate as much as normal which is why she woke I think. I hadn't used the high chair for about 3 weeks I think :lol: she sits with me when she has brekky and the boys have a kiddy table they sit at (we are slack and eat on the couch) and she now sits at the table with them :):

Alicia & Nic- Well,Kieren is refusing to stay seated in his high chair,even with the harness on,he wiggles and yells to get out,so we sit him on our lap,but only plays with his food,he doesn`t like us trying to feed him, Mr independant here too.lol.:rolleyes:
We all sit a our kitchen table i won`t let the kids watch tv,at dinner time or the other just want eat whats on their plates too absorb in the trashy shows on tv,lol.
Well,Kieren has managed to eat some soft pear,yogurt,& some chopped up chicken & cheese on a small bread roll today,it`s the most he`s had for a few weeks.i suppose as long as they are drinking i don`t have too much to worry about.
I don`t think i would be game taking my two young ones to the movies,although Kieren is a really good boy,but Tiger is a little......u know what!!!!:wall:

hi everyone, just a quick one whilst ash is quiet for 30seconds.. he still very very sick, throwing up all night, was up from 130am - 6am walking around with him just trying to stop him vomitting so he could keep the nurofen down. he had a dose at 6.30 and it knocked him out till about 11am (give or take a couple wakings cos of wind)
Hes been on panadol since wednesday night at the emergency room and its been 48 hours since yesterday.. has anyone kept giving panadol for longer than 48hours???
I havent giving him anymore this morning as i dont want to..... does any one recomened asking a doctor or something?? i know its viral, so theres nothing he can do but get his body to fight it off..... but im just worried if he keeps going tonight and im giving him too much medicine... ???????? :(
Lauren I would take him to the Dr.. Does he have fevers? (sorry I must have missed our post on him being sick) If he can't keep anything down then definetl get him to the Dr.. 48 hours is a long time..

As I said to my mum this morning I am seriously enjoying this ME time.. It is so nice to talk to another adult (with no kids around) other then Simon.. And she addicted to ebay to hahaha.. so far we haven't bought anything :lol: Although I did buy Livi a new hat off thier last week..;) $5 bargain. Cute little fifi and the flower pots (?) one
Susan.. I would just simply buckle him in the high chair and tighten the straps and say NO it is dinner time and even if you dn't want to eat everyone else is.. It is time to sit as a family :)

Omg i just realised, we were in the emergency tuesday night not wednesday.. :( hmm being friday maybe i should go to the GP. He seems ok atm and has had a couple of chips for lunch (its the only thing i could get him to eat) and its staying down so far....
i might go over to the chemist and ask about the panadol.. im sure tonight wont be so easy, seems to go down hill very quickly at night..... :(

Buzzie - I had Loren on panadol and nuerofen for 4 days straight around the clock. Doctor told me to because she was having convulsions. If Ash has been throwing up for that many days I would take him to the doctor just incase he is dehydrated too.

If ou are worried about fluids you could try this.. It is what we did to gt them to have some glucose as well as water.. just made up jelly and syringed it into them and told them it was medicine
Keep an eye on his wet nappies.. If the wee is yellow or he isn't peeing much then he is starting to show signs of dehydration
Lauren - We have rung the Maternal Child help line a few times when we have been worried about things but not wanting to rush straight to the doctors, they have always been really helpful and reassuring. You can always ring them for an opinion (they might say take hime to the docs) but it is good to have that instant opinion when you are worried. Big hugs to Ash.
thanks everyone, i went to the chemist and they said give him hydralite to drink so he doesnt get dehydrated, but he doesnt like it. he hasnt had any boobie since waking this morning which is the first, but he has been drinking some water.
Im soo angry i just went to pay ABC and i have to pay for pubilc holidays (half price if you give them 2 weeks notice u are having a holiday too, even tho its a compulsary holiday and they close the centre!!) and half price the days hes sick even with a sick certificate!! WAT A JOKE!!! GRHHHHHHH
Im seriously contemplating putting him in a personal careers home or something.....

Well as most of you have read on FB i got my appretniceship and start tues PT working 2days and tafe one day. But i cant start tafe til June so working 3 days til then. One of the days is a sat so DH will have the girls but they will have to go to DC tues and Thurs *sob*. Sorry slack post have to be at work in 40mins (my caring job) and DH isnt home yet and it takes 1/2 hr to get there. ARGH

Lauren,I agree with Bek,you can keep the Panadol going around the clock for about 4 days only,other wise you must consult your Doctor. That Gastrolite from the chemist tastes discusting,taste some,hun, it`s like salty water, our Doctor recommended going & buying 4 or 5 bottles of( Poweraide sports drinks )does exactly the same job replenishes the ELECTROLYES back into the body to stop the dehydration. I hope little Ash is feeling better very soon,and you manage some rest & sleep,hun.:hug:

Ugh susan.. Olivia was just as horrid last night.. She woke at 4 and screamed till after 5.. Little turd she is .. I am so tired..
Dh is on holidays now YAY.. 12 days off.. Next Friday we are going camping for 3 nights :) I better go Olivia is screaming at me lol in a funny way.. bub bub bub bub thats what she yells when she wants something and when she wants me for something she yells mum mum mum mum which is what she was yelling at 4am..
ill join the no sleep group - but i cant complain too much, ash went to bed feeling much better last night and i was hoping we were on the home stretch, He woke at midnight but a feed was enough and he was back out, then he woke again at 4am and i fed him and it all came up, vomited everywhere.. so i waiting a bit and gave him a very little feed just so he could have something in his stomach so i could give him some nurofen, cleaned him up and went to get it and smashed a glass in the kitchen, i was sooo tired i left it and went back to bed, i was walking around with him till 5am to make sure he kept it down and he only did 2 very baby vomits after that. so from 5am till about 10 when he woke up he was in alot of tummy pain and squirming and crying in his sleep, but at least he got some rest from vomitting... hes been ok so far, still not eating but i havent given him any medicine today, i prob will hold off being night times are becoming the worst... Thank god mondays a public hol, im gonna need it!
Well Rob has earnt himself some browie points this week, once wen i took ash to the emergency i told him the next day when he asked how ash was and he was angry i didnt ring him... i was actually happy he was angry at me cos it showed he was conserned.
Then he almost got a brownie point yesterday i asked him when are u paying maintainance (it was due the next day anyway) im behind $100 at ABC for next week (after already paying $400 that day) and he said straight away, dont worry ill fix it up. I was pretty impressed, then he said, just tell child support i gave it to you so they can take from what i owe u.. omg grhhh that part made me angry tho!! he only pays $200 a month,.. go figure... that set him quite back in my good book!
Susan - i hear you about hair styles, i used to be very funky and everyone loved the things i could do, but now its just all ponytails! cant be bothered these days...
Nic - yay on getting some time with hubby, do you take all the kids camping?? how exciting,. i LOVE camping, hopefully will get the chance one day to take him.

Well i had a very interesting night last night, i stayed over at robs place (hes staying at his brothers house whilst there overseas) and it was amazing i finally got to know what it felt like to have a glimps of mummy daddy and baby! ash slept in the room with us and rob was getting up all the time when he was crying and i heard him whispering "shhhh dont wake mummy up' awwwwwwwwwwww i loved that. Its so nice how much the 2 of them are bonding now. We will prob stay up there more this week, but with work its gonna suck.
im soo wanting him to talk about a relationship together... but i told mum today im going to give him to the end of the month and say where is this going becuase i an'it going to be a 'booty call' lol. i know im not to him, but i dont know why hes taking this so slow... oh well...
have a good week. blaaah back to work.. ho hummm...
