Oh why do children have to lie in bed and wail in the middle of the night?
Flynn is in bed doing just that now. Wail. Silence for a minute. Wail. Silence. Talk to himself. Wail again.
Aggggh!

Aggggh!
:hugs: I do not know.. Jacob does the same thing.. He doesn't do it often in the middle of the nigt but at all times.. He just sits and screams/wails if he wants something instead of asking...
Hope Flynn settled down and went to sleep for you
Can someone tell Olivia to please go back to her 9-3 till 7 routine PLEASE!!!! We now have 8-1and then toss and turn till 5 or 6 sigh.. This mummy is tired
morning ladies,
is going to be a busy day, so thought i would skip my morning nap! :o
alicia - i'm in for a meeting!
nic -ohhhhhh how cute!! holding her hand is so sweet!.. wasn't playing it up for the camera was he??!
rory - :( darn! sorry for the bad night.... kids!
hope everyone else is well!
xxx
Lauren, thanks for doing up that list hun. How is Mr Ash going ?
Teena, I'd love to tell you they get better. And I will hun, just as soon as mine do ;)
Ahh yes the easysuits. I have seen them, and while they look cute you just know by the looks of them that they'd be a PITA to change a nappy and to dress bub in. Maybe you girls taht have them already could contact Bonds and give them some feedback. Who knows what you will get too ;)
Nic, Abbey was 8 weeks on Monday. It goes so damn fast hey. How cute on the chuckle. I can't wait for that part. We are getting huge smiles too. Sounds like you might be onto something with the IF. I got Infacol by mistake but still haven't used it. I really shoud, because all Abbey does is grunt and squirm, if I pick her up and pat her back she does huge burps.
Bek, huge hugs huni  Mother guilt is a shocker hun. Give yourself time to adjust to having more than one baby or child in the house. It's a whole new world for the lot of you and takes a while to adjust.
Haroula, great gain there by Chrissie. She is growing fantastically.
Bindy, sorry that your not feeling loved in here. I guess with such a big group it's hard to do personals to every member. Perhaps try stepping out of your circle too and other's might also. Just a thought.
Alicia, good to hear that Mothers group went well. I have never ever been to one. BB is my mothers group. And I don't even have to get dressed to go ;)
Rory, my big boys help out rarely. If they are ever home I make them hold or listen out for Abbey while I shower etc. Noah just wants to yellout to me everytime he hears her through the monitor "Mum, Abbey's crying" as if I can't hear her anyway. And Tehya, well, I'm sure she means well. LOL.
Had a shocker of a day yesterday. Kids were feral and Abbey just would not settle. Took them out for around a hour or so in the arvo to burn off some energy then Abbey screamed herself silly until we had to pull over on the way home. Managed to calm her down enough til we got home and she insisted on screaming a lot more. This was our night til she finally settled around 9.30pm. I fell asleep with her on the boob in the loungeroom and woke at 12am and went to bed.
I woke this morning to find Tehya in bed with us too. Abbey was farting around, grunting and whinging so I got up with her. Better to have her awake than Tehya. Of course she went back to sleep and was on the lounge. I can hear her stirring now. I wasn't game to go shower and leave her there. My luck Tehya would have gotten up.
Swimming again today with my fish.
Hope everyone has a good one and all bubbies are kind to their mummys
Haroula: He was holding her hand when I walked back into the room :) Was so cute!!
Trish: time is just flying isn't it? Enjoy your little fish :)
Sorry didn't see these other post's when I posted. LOL
Rory, I really don't know why they do that hun. Tehya does the same thing as does Noah. They will lay there and at the top of there lungs either cry out or yell out DADDY !! Better than Mummy I guess, cos when I go into Noah I go cranky on him, tell him to be quiet and go back to sleep. DP on the other hand, get's into bed with them. Hoep you got some sleep hun.
Nic, that is sooo cute. Ethan is a great reader too. When Noah was in the cradle I just used the cot bumper. It wrapped around the whole cradle. Abbey is getting long in her bassinette too, but I don't want to put her in the cot in her own room. She'd be too far away from me then :( Was thinking about the brand new porta cot that is sitting still in the box in her room. I might unpack that and set it up in my room instead. It vibrates, plays music and has a nightlight on it. What more can a kid ask for.
Haroula, what's a morning nap hun ?? LOL. Hope you get a rest sometime today :D
I might have to put her doona back in her bed.. she never moved this much when it was in there.. It is just a cot doona folded in half. but it comes up a little on te sides and covers the bars.. I so have no room for her cot in my room at the moment and dfinetly not ready to move her out yet..
I would set up her porta cot but yet again I have a fussy child who doesn't like it  Only Ethan has slept in a porta cot here lol..
Well without jinxing myself .. Olivia fed and went in her rocker. She lasted half an hour there and started to cry so I picked her up and lay her on the couch next to me and she stopped crying so I went and got breakfast and another coffee and she is still laying there kicking away happily..
Trish - LOL sounds like you got your hands full again! .... hehehe re morning nap....the day Chrissie decides to sleep soundly for x hrs this morning... I can't sleep cause there is so much to do! typical!!! How many loads of washing do you do a day?? with that many of you... gee! i find i'm washing every second day already!! At the moment it is definitely "don't do tomorrow what you can do RIGHT THIS MINUTE" :cryinglaugh:
nic - if you look at my gallery, there's a pic of Chrissie's craddle... i bought it specifically cause the sides are a cotton mesh and it's all suspended... so when she wakes and moves it rocks itself.. also is quite large, so should last until about 4-6 months..then it'll be time to go into the cot. I can't fit anything other than the cradle in our room either!
ok so far so good.. she's still asleep... have put washing in... had breakfast and a shower!! WOW.... and all before 8.30am!!!
I worked Olivia out  I was reading on another thread the other day about the signs of tiredness and how it starts around 1.5 hours after waking.. So i notice Olivia doing it this morning and realised she had been awake exacly 1.5 hours so I got out her little bed and lau her down and rubbed her back and she went to sleep  No screaming this morning
:( just heard on the news Heath Ledger has been found dead
So its 9:30am and Im showered, we're all eating breakfast and I might actually get the groceries done by lunchtime, woohoo. Ugh someone's grumbling, I think he wants a 2nd helping of his booby breakfast too.
I hope everyone's nights went ok, ours was alright - think he went 3hrs between feeds cause the nights are going faster, I seem to get 2 feeds in before daylight so not to bad going. I think Im going to try expressing sometime today, just to see how it goes. I have a elec pump a friend gave me because mine was manual and I hated it last time. Would be nice to know I have the option of an occasional bottle if need be. Wont be for a few more weeks though.
Crud the kid is screaming, be back later.
Anna isn't it great when things just work like that ? and Nic that is great you got Olivia to settle like that.
Haroula I am doing at least a load of nappies a day plus a load of clothes - c'mon Trish, what is the average for your tribe LOL!
Trish sounds like Noah has taken Uhura's job - dunno if you watched "Star Trek" but her job on the show was to repeat whatever the computer says. They took the p1ss out of it oon "Galaxy Quest".
Flynnie was up for about 2 hours last night but I settled everything eventually by giving him his bear to cuddle - its the first time something like that has worked. Oh and I worked out why Ollie was upset - I had a large slurpee on Monday - d'oh!! Now I have a really BIG reason not to OD on sugar!!
ETA: I will be away the w'end of the next Flemington Market but who is up for a visit to Highpoint? It is pretty close to Haroula, me and Alicia. We could do it one day next week? Say next Tuesday? (29 Jan)
May have been taken the wrong way here. Miss my Belly Buddies but that doesn't mean I don't want to get to know everyone else!!
Hope everyone is having a good day. Had a great night last night, Madeleine woke every 4.5 hours! Don't feel tired today.
Aussienic, I use a SAFE AND SOUND support in Bub's bassinette, she can't really roll around when she sleeps in the middle of it. HTH.
trish - good advice on contacting bonds -i'm gonna do it! i often log on to the company site and complain if i buy something that's not ok, like stale crisps or lumpy soymilk- the big brands usually respond with a thankyou letter and a refund check. i wonder what bonds will do?
haroula, clayton is indeed my stomping ground when in smellbourne - there's MIX indonesian grocery store where i can buy good quality tempeh (try doing that in brisvegas) and an Indo cafe where DH and i go for meals and often meet people we know (or we know them by the time we leave lol). I'd love to meet up: chaddy or anywhere is easy when i'm down. I might be on my own as DH is scheduled to be there just the weekend whereas i'm there a week! a bit of time to show off my new baby hehehe...
olly has yellow crusty stuff comng out of his ear, and is being needy. poor boy, he is going for negative attention lately, but not too naughty. i'm watching supernanny trying to remember her rules for kind and effective disciplining - not that i want to "discipline" him everytime he throws sox out the window or something, it's enough to acknowledge that he needs some one on one mummy time and a change of scenery, but providing those things is SO CHALLLENGING.
thanks for doing up the list, who was is..snazzy? sorry - brain like playdoh today. maybe i can give everyone the wrong names today so u dont feel picked on. So everyone else will be refered to as Bob.
i just discovered an exercise plan for those with toddlers too - dancing to the wiggles! i've got Mylo under my arm, hanging off the boob, Olly looking on unimpressed, and i'm doing the twist and singing along badly.
xtml - it is me doing it. LOL its ok ill give u that one, i have plenty moments of lack of sleep brain action hehe
Rory, where abouts is highpoint, i know of it but not where it is. - oh bugga i cant do tuesday 29th, got my post natal apt at the hospital at 330
Trish, Ash is doing great. got mothers group today so im soo nervous. i seriously gotta learn to relax about going out! he slept thru last weeks meetup lol
Is anyone else serioulsy nervous about taking bubs out? i hate it wen i cant feed him if he starts crying! I think im still scared from mondays outing to spotlight! i had never had so many people starring at me!! Like i didnt feel bad enough with him crying i needed all that! and one women came up to me and said 'oh isnt that such a sad cry" - gees hence why i was bolting out of the shop to get away!!
Morning All,
We had a really good night last night, both my babies were in bed by 9pm, I actually got to spend more than 2 secs give DH a cuddle on the couch and I had 5 straight hours of sleep before Liam woke for his first feed, and Tori slept till 6:45 ..............ahhh bliss!
Rory- Poor Flynn, maybe he is going through a growth spurt. Tori has been really unsettled for the last week and I am sure that she has just had a huge growth spurt, Ill cross my fingers tonight is a better night for you.
Lauren- I am not so nervous about taking Liam out this time, it is taking both my 2 out together on my own that worries me. However, I have already armed myself with a response for nosey onlookers, and I am not going to be afraid to tell people to buzz off and leave me alone this time.
Lara- I am having a few minor issues with Tori but she is getting better, I just make sure I spend time doing stuff with her the minute Liam goes to sleep. I have also started preparing her lunch and snacks when Liam goes down for his first sleep, and keeping them in a lunch box in the fridge for quick access. I am off to the $2 shop today to buy some special toys to use when we are having some 1 on 1 time.
Bindy- Great to hear you had a good nights sleep. If Madeleine likes sleeping or sitting in her bouncer then I say go with it. Like I said before I am all for the saying "whatever works for you". Liam sleeps in his Hammock during the day and his bassinette at night time.
Anna- Woohoo on being showered and fed by 9:30 that rocks. Good luck with the expressing, I hope the electric pumps works for you.
Nic- I realised the same thing about Liam, and if I miss getting him down for the first sleep of the day then the rest of the day goes to cr@p and I pretty much can't get him to settle all day.
So Trish are you looking forward to school going back? Liam is also a farter and a Grunter, it usually starts between 4-5 and carries on till about 7ish. DH usually gets up with him and just sits with him on the couch at about 6 so I can grab a little more shut eye. I think I am going to have to move him into his own room soon so I can get some sleep.
Haroula- I hope you manage to get all your jobs done today. As for washing we do 1 load of nappies a day and probably the equivalent to 1 load of clothes, sometimes 2 loads of clothes a day. My DH is pretty good at doing the washing and hanging it out, and shock horror he has even been helping me with the ironing latley. Good luck getting some rest today, I have given up napping in the day because every time I lay down one of the kids stirs, and if I have a nap after about 2pm I cant sleep at night.
Does anyone else have trouble getting back to sleep after they have done a feed? Some nights I just lay there listening to DH and Liam sleeping and thinking how unfair it is.
Anyway I had better go and get on with some jobs, Liam is sleeping and Tori is spending the day with mum (which she loves) and then I am meeting a friend for lunch. I hope everyone had a great nights sleep and is having a nice calm day today.
Lara, sounds fun dancing along to the Wiggles! Poor Olly, I hope he gets better soon.
Ali, whatever works I agree!! She loves sleeping in her bouncer through the day! She's being going down in her bassinette at night now too which is good, she's such a mummy and daddy's girl! Loves hugs.
Buzzie, yeah I'm seriously nervous about going out with Bub. Our first outing is tomorrow actually as a family. We'll be heading to the clinic to get Madeleine weighed, I am so interested to see how much weight she's put on.
She is soundly sleeping now...and my DP has gone to Coles to grab me some groceries (bless him!) - is grabbing me some hair dye too as it's on special...my hair is in desperate need of some attention!!!!
Hope you are all having a good day.
On a completely non bellybelly related topic,.. did everyone hear about Heath Ledger! They found him Dead today! Im sooo sad! :( I really liked him, and he was such a hottie too! I had to share that... it made my morning sad, and he has a baby girl too :(
xtml:  I did that the other day but was to my music .. but I was dancing with Jacob.. I was worn out. Hes a heavy bugger
Lauren:  at "and one women came up to me and said 'oh isnt that such a sad cry" People just do that.. They don't mean it in a negative way to you.. Just the other day when I ad my little adventure with the kids on my own. Olivia started crying and jacob got cranky and the pram wheel fell off and this woman said..Having fun mum.. I felt like slapping her  I used ot get worried when people would look when the baby would cry but now I can't help it babies cry
Ali: I used to have trouble going back to sleep with my other kids but with Olivia I fall asleep straight away. Although lately she as been waking when a good show is on tv and I want to stay up and watch it
Bindy: I so need a hair cut.. Maybe a nice dye would make me feel good too :)
Olivia is on her 3rd sleep .. woops eyes open.. jacob screaming did that im sure... She is so happy today.. I am not feeding her every time she cries. Se has had 4 good feeds since 5:30 so I am sure she isn't going to starve.. Whe she cries I change her lay her down rub her tummy or try other things and if she just gets to upset I feed her...
grr Ethan has a friend over and he keeps hogging Ethans Xbox.. Driving me nuts.. and Isaac won't leave them alone and Jacob is throwing toys around the house.. grr.. kids!! DH is asleep after night shift...
Yes Lauren.. It is all that is on the news.. yes it is sad but do they have to keep showing us his body and speculating on drug overdoses.. Annoying!! let his family grieve in peace I say
Woo we rock, groceries are done with no drama's other than my hungry hippo of a 16mth old trying to eat a frozen roast chicken :cryinglaugh: I cant believe I managed a toddler, newborn and a very full trolley. I feel very proud now hehehehe All I need now is said toddler to finish his 'sammich' and go down for a nap that he desperately needs. The baby is asleep in his capsule but not for much longer Im betting so Im hoping he holds out long enough for me to put Jett down so I can sit and feed him while I read my magazines.
Ive even got dinner planned already, even though its only a pasta casserole out of a packet.........
BBL, toddler is trying bungee jump out of the highchair. Jett Houdini he is!
Hi all, pages & pages to catch up on!!
Well, after my rant about Infants Friend we've had more issues around here, like a crying Mum & bub at 2am & a lovely DP trying his best to comfort both before having to get up for work at 4.30am, but last night was alright & today has been good so far (touch wood) so I am not going to dwell...!!
Teena/XTML - I hear you on the "easy suit" - BAH!! I have a couple in 0000 & 000 & I'll be damned if I could even get Scally half into one!! They are scrunched up under the change table or somewhere lol.
Ali - JEALOUS OF YOUR SLEEP! ;) That's all I have to say lol! Oh, except for the getting back to sleep after a feed thing, I don't have trouble with that, but Scally has her loooong sleep from 6pm to 10 or 11pm & no matter how I try, I cannot sleep then.... *sobs*
Haroula - Yay on Chrissie growing... that's always a good sign lol, but you are making me feel like Miss Scarlett is the incredible Hulk or something, she is already 4.28kgs & 57cm!! Guess what... We are moving to Melbourne!!! YIKES!! I am soooooooo scared of moving interstate with a newborn.... eep, eep, eep I tells ya, but hopefully Scarlett will be able to have the occasional play date with Chrissie & Matthew?! DP starts his new job in Toorak in 6 weeks... lots to do before then!!
Buzzie, my name for your list is Victoria. :) ...and yes, I am terrifed of leaving the house with Scarlett!! After the Doctor she was crying & I said to DP that I needed to feed her & he was like "Here?! Are you one of THOSE women?!" WTF??? You should have seen the look I gave him. Lucky for him our bus arrived & we made it home quick smart, but still... what did he want me to do starve her?? As for going out alone, yesterday I was thinking, 'I'll take her for a walk to the park tomorrow' ...today I am thinking 'she is asleep & I need to get things done' lol. Hopefully I'll get braver... is braver a word?!
Bindy - Well, don't have much to say, but I wanted to give you a personal so you felt better about not having our Belly Buddies group anymore hon!!
Trish - I agree with you on BB being your Mother's Group... how do people manage to even make it there lol??!! I find if there is anything I want to know or talk about there is always someone (or several someone's lol) here for me. Love it. Although, I might think about an actual Mother's Group once we've moved to Melbourne... would be good I guess to meet some new people in a new city... we'll see how brave I am.
I did hear about Heath Ledger early this morning, I have the radio on when I feed Scally so it was breaking news early this morning... so sad!! He was only 2 years older than me, & his poor little girl Matilda... I feel for his family. :(
Hi ladies...
Have just got back and had lunch.. all jobs done... now i have to make a cake and vacuum and i'm finished for the day!!
Better go get cake happening while Chrissie is sleeping..!!
Highpoint is near Footscray.. I like only 5min from Highpoint by car..! I'm happy to meet up whenever you ladies can... just let me know so i can check the calender for any events!
I'm happy to come down one day to meet up Lara,.. i'll visit my mum too and that works out well! We'll try and get Kristie, Carrie and Lisa organised too! And anyone else who's in Melbourne who wants to join us?!!!
Bindy - don't be nervous... it gets easier.. i can get out the door in 10min now with Chrissie...!!
Ali - lucky you with DH doing washing!!! fabo!!..as for sleep or lack of, i only have had that issue once so far..!
Anna - i give almost half the feeds from a bottle.. she burps better after and i find she doesn't get as windy..strange i know... but true! She gets boob all night and if we are out! and bottle other times.. i have a manual one, but wish i had an electric..apparently are much better at getting the milk out!
QM - WOOHOOO yeah another one to meet up with!!! :D yeah!!!!!!! It'll be fine!! and if you need anything you just ask me!! Do you know at all were you will be staying?? WOW that's great weight gain for Scarlett! Are you guys tall??? that would explain her "size"... DH is the tallest at 172cm.. so not tall at all! :) and you feed your daughter...just pop a blankie over the top and nobody can see anything anyway!! gee!!
AND I KNOW... what's that with Heath Ledger!!!!????!!?? i agree.. leave it alone!
Anna - Wow, I'm proud of you!! Not only do you have 2 angels to deal with, but you've done the shopping AND have dinner planned?!! Lately I wait for DP to get home then ask him "What are you making me for dinner??" lol
Wish I could join in on the Melb meetup, sucks being stuck in the freakin country. Cant wait to get to Sydney (or Brisbane hopefully). That said I will be in Melb over the March long weekend somewhere in the city as the inlaws are coming over from Perth for 4 weeks so we're site seeing and taking Jett to Werribee Zoo.
I'll let you know how my elec pump goes H. If its good you could think of getting one. Its something youll use again AND they resell for a decent price on Ebay.
Haha QM, dont worry we've done our fair share of living on cheese toasties or take away in the past year. Unfortunately my Dh doesnt cook (hmmm maybe that should be WONT, heck he doesnt do much of anything grrrr) and if he did it would be nacho's which I cant eat as he makes it too spicy and I dont particularly want to aggravate my already cranky baby with spicy breastmilk lol Everytime we have an important occasion that involves present giving I tell him "Id love to have dinner cooked FOR me for once, one day, even if its just spaghetti bolognaise or a frozen lasagne or bbq or something" and yet he still whinges about not knowing what to get me *sigh*
A little tip for those scared of taking bubs out, seriously it isnt as bad as it seems. The day I got out of hospy with my first (day 3) I went out for coffee with my girlfriends. With this bub the day after he was born we left hospy and did some groceries. I believe its the key to having kids who are generally good while out and about. Obviously mine have their moments but Jett is ace at sleeping in his pram, and usually behaving in public. We've clocked up some k's, the kid and I lol Just give it a go, a little trip here and there and slowly build up. It'll keep you sane too, sometimes strolling round the shops window shopping is relaxing after a morning of fussiness and being stuck inside 4 walls.
Anna - that would be good!! let me know how it is and what brand you have.. may invest in one!
ohhh darn baby crying.... cake will have to wait.......
Nic and Xtml - I dance to the wiggles - the Dorothy dance is REALLY hard!
Buzzie and others - how about Jan 31st (Thursday?) instead of 29th?
Bindy I had a good night too aside from Flynn waking for about 2 hours, but he slept in (as did Ollie) so it evened itself out.
Anna how did you handle the 2 kids and a trolley? Did you get a trolley with 2 kid seats or put the older one inside the trolley? I am still working on logistics here :)
QM that is ace you are moving to Melbourne - more meet up buddies!
Haroula must be baking day - I made banana bread, 3 different muffins (Flynn calls them "MUFF!!" LOL) and choc chip cookies (with chickpeas in them!)
Firstly, I can't believe Heath Ledger is dead! What a tragedy...
Aussienic, the Garnier Nutrisse hair dye is on special ATM at Coles, only $10.99, save $3.50! DP bought me two boxes so that will last a while! Nothing like a nice new colour to make you feel better!
Roryrory, glad Flynn had a sleep in!
Jett sat in the trolley and I carried Ripley in the baby bjorn on my front. The trolleys with the baby seats or two seats are rare here so I couldnt be stuffed searching for one. Jett loves sitting in the seat part of the trolley and 'helping' me load it up. Ripley was actually the most quiet he's been while I had him in the carrier. I must have looked a sight though as people kept staring lol
Oh Anna, I love our Baby Bjorn!!
soooooo Tired here this afternoon.. I haven't done much which is probably why.. *yawn*
Pretty much just sat around chatting with Olivia :) She has been so happy today and it was just nice not to have to deal wit screaming and to get smiles..
thanks for the heads up on the dye Bindy.. Will chck it out tomorrow when we go to the shops :)
Haroula: did you get to make your cake?
I migt make some muffins later
Sorry for the lack of personals - I just cant keep up with you all.
Buzzie - Thanks for doing that list. My real name is Dayl and mu husbands name is Tony (hence the creative username of Tonydayl). I'm from North Lakes which is in Brisbane. As for Heath Ledger, his Dad said that he had pneumonia so I'm really hoping the drug allegations arent true!
Bindy/Buzzie - Fraser's first outing was when he was 4 days old. We did some grocery shopping and visited some relatives. I thought we should just jump in at the deep end and start taking him out straight away. I also thought it would be easier when Tony was home to help. We got out as a family all the time but yesterday was my first day attempting grocery shopping and the CHN all by myself and I was sooo nervous too. We did OK but he chucked a bit of a tanty after seeing the CHN but by then we had been out for almost 2 hours. I just sung to him (yes, in the middle of the shopping centre) and he fell asleep. Next time I'll take my sling to carry him around in because as soon as he was in my arms he was asleep. He didnt like those little beds in the trolleys.
Bindy - Fraser has a little swing that rocks by itself (run on batteries) which is great for when he is awake but he wont fall asleep in it.
Aussienic - I'm hearing you about the hair! I noticed how terrible my regrowth looked this morning and as for the eyebrows ..... we wont even go there!
OMG 3 pages girls !!! That will teach me for being away from BB for a day.
Sooo sad about Heath. Brandon told me this morning and I thought he was lying. Had to look at msn for confirmation. The radio station I listen to did a memorial thing for him.I heard it as I left swimming with the kids and had a sook. Another hottie gone way too soon.
Lauren, the only time I get bothered taking Abbey out is when I have Noah and Tehya with me too. Like the shopping centre. Tehya has a habit of running off and I can't chase her with the baby so instead I have to scream like a feral. Oh and on the feeding. I guess you can tell I'm up to no.5, if Abbey starts up and there is no feeding room around or it's full, cos theres only 2 seats, I just pop her on with her wrap covering my fat belly and walk around like that. Getting alittle harder as she is finally getting bigger.
Bindy, hope I didn't offend you. It wasn't my intention and glad that you want to get to know us :D
Xtml, I hope Olly's ear isn't infected. That was the first thing I noticed with Abbey. And yes The wiggles are great for exercise. Tehya has the new Getting Strong dvd and often dances to it. Maybe I need to start doing it abit more.
Ali, yay for a good night. I only have 2 kids at school now, but yes I sure am looking forward to it. Noah is starting school next week and Brandon goes into year 8. I hate it when I can hear DP sleeping away peacefully while I'm awake with the baby.
Ohhhh Rory, I love banana bread. Have never tried making it though. LOL, slack I know.
Anna, go you with the shopping. I won't even try groceries on my own with the kids. So not worth the effort.
QueenMab, yep I'm one of those women ;) You do what you have to do, and if it means breastfeeding in public then so be it. My Dp was like that at first when Noah was born. He soon learnt that a screaming baby needs a feeding NOW !!
Haroula, seriously you'd be suprised with my washing. I have 2 teenage boys that will never give me their damn clothes to wash !! I have to grab them when they (occassionally) shower. On average I'd say 2 loads a day. Some days I do 4 loads and others I do none. I sure do make up for it on the following day though. Plus Abbey is in cloth nappies so there's another load. Isn't it great when you get yourselves all ready early in the morning. Noah has to start school at 8.45am God only knows how I will get Tehya and I showered, Noah dressed and Abbey fed, along with feeding us all before 8.30am. Looks like I will be up at 6am everyday.
OK so I know there are girls that I have missed and I'm sorry for that. Will be sure to try and get you next time :)
Abbey has had another shocker. If she's awake, she's either crying or feeding. Giving me the craps sometimes. I have a blockage in my right boob that just won't go no matter how much I feed her from it. Gave it a really firm massage under the shower this morn and it's still there. I finally gave her some Infacol, in between boobs and OMG the burp she did afterwards, she could have won a contest. I really need to weigh her again, she has grown so much, even our GP on Saturday said what a fatty she was getting. Finally she has a little round face and little rolls on the top of her legs. Tooo cute.
Trish - OMG with the washing!! when do you get time to do anything else, including BB!!>???
nic - yep cake is all made and did the vacuuming too! she's been a real trooper today!! Might have something to do with the MASSIVE burps she's been doing!!
rory - hmmmmm banana bread!! yummo
Baby Bjorn - I LOVE IT!! It took a couple go's before i manage to master getting her in easily and while sleeping!! :o but it's fantastic... as i have 20 steps to go up to get into the house..and leave the house, it's real handy for me. At the start we were using the bassinet from the pram to move her up and down, but it's just to awkward and heavy now..and you cant carry anything else either!... she likes it too which is awesome!
well... i have managed to do ALL my jobs for today! wooohooo!! now it's time to sit back and relax a little with my scrapbooking!... been a while!!
xxx
Oh well it must be something in the air for baking, I made Bindy's famous brownies last night and they are delicious.
So sad about Heath Ledger, he actualley grew up in Perth and his parents house was in the same suburb that I lived in and I remember walking past his house on the way home from high school (it was the long way but oh well) in hope that we would catch a glimpse of him. That was in the early days when he was in the show about swimming.
Anyway better go, Tori only had an hours sleep at mum's today and is now being a bit feral, so I better pay her some attention before she destroys something or hurts herself.
Hi all, quick sign in from me before I start dinner while BOTH BOYS SLEEP! Luxury!
I have a baby bjorn but bought an Ergo carrier cause I heard they are better for bub's back - do you think I can work out how to carry Ollie in the damn thing LOL!
YAY Rory, Isn't it great when that happens :D
I hope you get to eat while they are sleeping too.
Wow, you guys have been busy!!
Semi-general one today - if I attempt proper personals you lot will have done another three pages whilst I'm still writing and I'll have to start all over again. So a big HI to everyone!!!
Re: going out. I was petrified the first time we went out with Euan. It was when he was 8 days old - I had a c/s so wasn't supposed to drive for 6 weeks. As my DP doesn't drive (yay, not!!!) we were starving and going nuts so on day 8 we finally cracked and I (very carefully and slowly) drove to the supermarket. Actually it was safer than walking in the Nth Qld heat. I got permission from my doctor to drive after 3 weeks and haven't looked back. Really scary when I took him out alone for the first time, but now I just bung him in the car seat, then into the sling, and away we go. We even made an impromptu visit to a friend the other day and stayed all day - it was great. It's hard getting over that first hurdle, but becomes easier each time. I do marvel at how those with more than one, or who use public transport (esp. buses) cope! Oh, and Dayl, I talk and sing to Euan too when he's in the sling - I'm sure people think I'm a little nutty!
Re: 'those' publicly breastfeeding women - yep, I'm one of 'those' - but then, I've never been shy about my boobs and especially not now that they have a legitimate function! The first time we were out at a shopping centre we couldn't find the feeding room so just sat on a bench in the middle of the centre and I fed him. Very few people even noticed - I certainly didn't give a toss if they did or not!! I saw a woman the other day pushing twin toddlers in a stroller, preventing a slightly older child (maybe 4-5) from running away, and holding a newborn on the boob with her spare hand - I was darned impressed by her dexterity!
Trish - I hope your poor boob is feeling better soon - Euan had a really long sleep last night and both were like rocks this morning - and then the little bugger only wanted one side. The other one was ready to fall off by the time he'd take the second side! Nice one on Abbey's monster burping - Euan's been burping and farting like nothing else today - and did a massive fart in the supermarket today that turned heads. That's my boy!
Rory, Haroula - you kitchen goddesses! I haven't baked in sooooo long - the kitchen gets way too hot with the oven on! And Rory, I hope that both boys stay sleeping so you can enjoy your dinner! My DP isn't home till after 9:00 tonight so I have a choice of eating very very late, or eating one handed, if a certain little boy will let me.
I think that I'm up for a late one tonight - Euan is still asleep (yikes) and has been since 3:30, after a concerted effort to resist sleep (took me three attempts to get him to sleep!). He's been pretty good today, apart from one little patch today when he had some pretty awful wind pain he's been cute as a button and very happy. So I have no idea what tonight will bring! We actually got to see a movie last night (I am legend - it's pretty good), admittedly we had to pause it every 15-20 minutes for a feed, burp, cry, carry, etc, but we still made it to the end (just as wonderchild finally fell asleep - perfect timing!).
TTFN - hope you all have good nights!
Aussienic, good luck getting that dye! I can't wait to do mine tomorrow!
Dayl, so good you went grocery shopping! I just have to get on out there with Madeleine and stop being such a scaredy cat!
Haroula, that Baby Bjorn is awesome isn't it! At the start it's hard but then when you get the knack of it, it's great!
Ali, those brownies of mine are awesome. I made some the other day but unfortunately they are ALL GONE now, doesn't last long in our household!
Well have a great night everyone, off to have some ice cream and check on my little one, yes, she's asleep in that bouncer, AGAIN!! She loves it!
