sorry girls this is gonna be a selfish post...

I'm hoping G is a nice settled easy baby today, we have had no power or running water since about 10pm last night and are still on cyclone alert. I had a bit of a breakdown over the last couple of days, I want out of the NT. It's so expensive to live here, were struggling and I hate our house, it's tiny. Fine when it was just the 2 of us and I was working full time, but how am I supposed to raise a family in a house that doesn't even have a frikkin laundry! Let alone room for any toys, and when it rains and there's mozzie outbreaks for 5 months solid and we can't play outside there needs to be room inside to play and 1 square metre of lounge room floor isn't enough! I don't see the point of staying here when we could pay less for a really nice big house anywhere else in the country! And it'd be nice to be able to go for a walk on an actual footpath, maybe even one that leads to a park, without having to drive for half an hour first!!! So I'm trying to convince dh to move to QLD, I want Georgia to be able to go to the beach and the zoo and stuff. Anyway, rant over, just had to get that out before I explode! Please don't say anything about all this on FB, I don't need the third degree about it all from his family, they're already ****ting me at the moment!

Aww hun... can you talk to dh about it?? This is a pretty big issue to just suck it up iykwim... You need to be happy and comfortable! Qld is awesome (tho toowoomba is waaaaay to far from the beach!!) and there is some lovely places to live that are way cheaper than darwin.
I wish I could give you real hugs! And don't worry, lips sealed about it on fb...

    Little_Mrs: big big hugs hun
Have you spoken to dh? Don't keep it to yourself hun or you'll build up resentment! QLD is a great idea!!! I can totally see your point of view.
If you've spoken to dh what gas he said? Is he open to moving? xxx

sorry I havent read any post but this page...

Little Mrs, I feel your pain the NT is a funny place when your there you want out but believe it or not whe you go you want back... but it is way too much to live there now, God knows why its not like they have improved themselves since 1970's...

GL with the cyclone, on the up side as you might already know the NT rearly gets a direct hit as the cyclones have to kick back on themselves ( which we all know tracy did ) but try to stay sane...

If I could pick anywhere to live I would choose the sunny coast... right on the beach with a pool boy too :P off to dream land I go...

just a quick one PK got his needles poor baby boy when he got the 2nd one ( I was BF to calm him down fro the 1st ) he kicked his leg out so hard that the needle fell out so she had to do it again, she felt so bad... Boy did he scream ... he didnt even want boob after than just cuddles...

he also go weighed and is now 4.9kg so growing well just under the 50% for weight, but she said not to worry about the charts as they as made for FF babies and BF are all different... he looks and acts healthy and thats all that matters, she couldnt believe how strong his head is asked if I am doing lots of tummy time, I felt bad so said yes when really he doesnt get much at all...

bugger he is starting up again....

    catch you all again later...

Renee: i think any weight gain from 100-300g per week is considered normal. Glad your bleeding has stopped.

Little mrs: soounds like you certainly need a bigger place for kids to play in if you are spending so much time inside. Hope you get to move real soon. Melb is great you could then join us for the next meetup. Stay safe with the cycclone.

New dawn: sucks that pk had to get the jab twice. Ouchie! I am so dreading when claire gets hers.

Claire had a paed review today and he thinks it is colic that is causing the unsettled nights. Found a place that sells weleda and put some on order, hoping it helps. He also recommended stretching out her day feeds from 2 hours to 3-4 hours. Esp since she has already doubled her birth weight. Tried this evening and she wasn't impressed. Cried like someone was killing her so i gave in. Will have too try tmr. She also needs to go on vit. D n iron supplements.
Hope all the other babies are sleeping well.

    Just catching up now!

Mizqtie, i hope the teething settles soon!

Caixlin: Boo to being colicy, hopefully the stuff helps soon, good luck stretching out her feeds! i hate the "stop killing me screams" it hurts my boobs and heart so badly

Lil_mrs, *hugs* i can so understand where you are coming from, although never lived in NT, the first five years I desperately wanted to move back to Australia while i was in Germany.
I am glad to be living here especially having Liam, i wouldnt want to raise him over there! Good luck convincing hubby to move!! Money sucks, everything is so so so expensive now! We got our paid parental leave yesterday, we are so relieved!

Bex, your cupcakes looked fantastic, my hubby felt bad too about vday he did get me a card, but i didnt get it till the morning after. I was so exited and so happy!

Newdawn dont worry about the pants, i keep meaning to msg you but keep forgetting, i picked them up for $1 at the op shop!

We have been DTD, not often though, it does hurt at the start but then its fine! I think if i had natural birth i may be still scared to do it!
Went and saw one of the doctors at work on monday, had a pap and checked my iron, i got a call last night from work telling me i was in for recall, my iron is still at 5.9 whoops! i havent been taking my iron tablets for the last 3 weeks or so, Dr was concerned, she said i should be very tired, lethargic and dizzy. Now it explains why i am a bit more tired than usual i just throught it was L waking up so many times a night! And the reason why i was seeing big black dots! Upped the intake of the tablets and have to go back for another test in 6 weeks. Now i am just waiting to know how the Pap went!

Got our PPleave payments and family allowance yesterday, it was such a relief! Will be going back to work first week of June. Now hubby is much more happier, than last week! I never thought that money would cause such nastiness in a relationship, we werent bad but i can only imagine how it could deteriorate very badly!

I had a lovely dinner for Vday, we had hubbys best friend over with his partner, I made cheese fondue, and then we had chocolate fondue, and i made little deserts they were fantastic!
I crushed chocolate ripple bikkies, whipped cream with sugar, pureed strawberries with sugar and layered them in a glass, it was a fantastic hit! Just made another batch for tonight and tomorrow!

I was out yesterday and needed to go to the pharmacy to get some eyedrops for L, one of the pharmacy retail ladies, saw me giving him some water to drink as it was boiling hot, he had both breasts and a bottle of formula and still wasnt settled. and told me outright, it was bad for babies to drink water, and they shouldnt have any until 6 months old! i told her i was advised to give him some by my health nurse, and she then proceeded to tell me that she is a midwife as if she knew better. My face was SO RED i was ready to hit her. put me in such a horrible mood! He went straight to sleep after his 20 mls! She literally spoke down to me as if i was stupid! When i told DH, he was ready to walk out of the door and go straight down there to give her his piece of mind! I used to always go there, i think i will change pharmacy now!

L has been asleep since 7pm, its now 11 i wonder how much longer he will sleep!

Sorry no persies, just a rant!

Charlotte has only slept 30 mins since 9am this morning and so I haven't been able to do anything all day except go to my 6 week check up and pap smear (which were both fine! God I was shaking beforehand but it wasn't that bad, the nurse was lovely!), then DH gets home just after 5pm and I am on the bed feeding C and trying to get her to sleep. She was done feeding and I was buggered so I asked DH to take her for me so I could have a nap, he took her out of the room then came back like 5 mins later (by this time it was around 5:40pm) and goes "I can't take her now, i have to go to soccer training at 6" hands her back to me and off he goes!! So I am left with her awake, screaming and not settlingfor the next 2.5hrs... then he comes home and goes "have you made dinner?" LIKE I FREAKING CAN WITH A VELCRO SCREAMING BABY... I know he didn't mean anything by it, he just wanted to know if dinner was made or not. So he held her while I made dinner and he was talking to her etc instead of rocking her to try to get her to sleep, then he can't eat and hold her (for some stupid reason) so I had to hold her and eat dinner. My SIL called me crying cause she found out her DH left her for another girl so I was talking to her for a while.. DH comes in, gives me Charlotte and says I am going to bed. So now again I am left with her to try to get her to sleep by myself.

I just need a break today!!! I want him to struggle to get her to sleep, not me... I have been doing it all freaking day!!! He hasn't been here, and went out tonight. It's his turn to deal with it... grr... now he is all lovely and passed out in bed isn't he and I still have an awake, unsettled baby who is sucking my boobs off...

Caixin: It doesn't feel right to me to space out her feeds, I say if she's hungry feed her like you did, she's far too little to be greedy isn't she? She will only eat if she's hungry Surely.

MrsBexie: I read your story, it's wonderful! Well done on being so honest. P.S you're a yummy mummy

Wow what a cow that chick was, if she is a midwife what is she doing working in retail, she cant have been a very good one.. With my other I used to give them water as we lived in the tropic, we all do up there...

your dinner sounded yum might have to try that desert...

MRS B I read your story, you sound very much like me, why do us woman never see the Good bits, or see what everyone else sees, your body looks great now most woman would kill for that body let alone having given birth 3 weeks before... How amazing are our bodies... we need to learn to love our bodies if not for us for our daughters...

Babyluv: i would love to be able to space out her day feeds too but i think t will let her decide when she is ready coz when i tried again she didn't sleep well that night and fed every 1-2 hours. Then when i went back to feeding her every 2 hours during the day ( which feels like shge is attached to me all day) then she gave me 4 hour sleeps at night.
New dawn: how is pk after his vaccination? Slept well?

I'm getting confused how many hours claire is sleeping at night. Some nights i can't remember when the last time i was up feeding was. Or i would put her to bed then wake up 5 min later thinking i fell asleep with her in my arms feeding, when's actually safe in bed already! Gosh where did my memory go? I must be losing my mind with the night wakings. To think i used to have such a sharp mind and never forget stuff. Come back brain i miss you!

Lol!!! It's the sleep deprivation that does it!! I have a photographic memory and so could remember which side she had last fed on... Until about the last week... Now I have no idea! Haha...
Yeah I personally Claire lead when she is hungry etc, even if it is very 2 hours and annoying, she obviously wants it...

Howdy Girls here I was thinking I would have heaps to catch up on, and feeling guilty for not posting much, only to find we have all gone a little quite... must all be going though the same thing, grumpy clingy babies...

Well I woke on sunday to a head cold so havent been on the computer much, still feel pretty crappy but a little better than yesterday, slepted in this morning so had like 2 minutes to race around and get everything ready, thankfully the winkies actully listen to me last night and had gotten themselves mostley ready for school..

PK must be getting my cold, he wont let me put him down, crys if he is awake, and think he wants boob but screams while trying to drink, then burbs and spews it all up... not nice..

Last night when he woke for his 2 am feed he was so busy trying to look around he wouldnt really drink, then when he was feeding he would still try to look around but take my boob with him, ouch... so for the 1st time I just put him back to bed ( we co sleep ) and went back to sleep myself.. he either got enough milk even though he was playing up or he just wasnt hungry, as he slepted another 2 hrs...

Hope you are all doing well, cant believe our babies are 2 mths old... where has that time gone...

Caxin I dont know if we ever fully get our brains back, but we do learn to remember so many more things like play dates, sports, and birthday parties

Poor little PK S has a cough & sneeze too & wants to feed constantly but won't sleep during the day! I think its either a growth spurt or comfort sucking. I feel your pain on the booby issue. S does the same thing wants to look at everything and nearly rips my boob off.
Well done little PK for going back to sleep
My darling is 10 weeks I hate how fast time is flying!!!

Damn to the cold!! We have it too and it's horrible! Poor little C has a stuffy nose and keeps choking on something in her throat! Yay to PK sleeping more! I love it when they go back to sleep! LOL

Oh sux to the cold, as if running around after 4 winkies isn't draining enough feeling stuffy can't be helping at all! G does the same thing looking away while feeding, might have to try caixins advice on putting a muslin cloth over her so she can't see anything else and just concentrates on feeding...

Babyluv: hope sienna clears up soon, it can't be easy listening to your little girl cough

Well I don't know how I managed to have z centipede on my back up near my shoulder, but it was there and the dirty little sucker bit me! I felt it and brushed it off but didn't know what it was until I turned around and saw it taking off across the kitchen floor, my initial reaction was to go and get Dave to see if they're poisonous which was dumb coz now I can't find it! I think I'll sleep g in with me tonight so I can bug spray her room, it's hurting me and I tend to react better than most to bites and stings so I definitely don't want it getting near her!

On a bright note, she sat up by herself for 4 seconds before heading face first into my belly today so proud of my strong girl
