Well that's a positive again. I did remember seeing you said that they never actually tested.... Just as long as she's doing well is all that matters :)

yeah, I had a swab done later as had a runny nose  and was negative. :dunno: it normally wouldn't clear up with the ABs, but since they're immunised the presentation is most likely to be different anyway. hard to know. definitely don't have it now anyway :)
Well that's the main thing :)
Merry Christmas everyone!!! I hope you all have a wonderful day with your families! Xoxo
MERRY CHRISTMAS LADIES, HAVE A GREAT DAY WITH YOUR LITTLE ONE'S :leap:
Cathie xx
WOOOT WOOOT!!
Merry Christmas!!!
Happy Christmas girls!!! So much fun was had here can't wait till the next one :)
Now to have all the time in the world to sit down with the kids to build, mould and figure out all these new toys/games.
Hope everyone had a great day xoxoxo
This time last year we had :babyneutral: and now we have :baby: (looks like Harper in her cot as she tries to fall asleep )
I've just had a bit of a brain wave ladies and i'm wondering what you might think. Everyone is in bed and i'm up still tidying and folding washing....
I was thinking about when we go away in January and how much i need to get out and walk and work off some of this months treats. We're going to Narooma on the NSW coast and i'm looking forward to lots of walks on the beach. I love my hugabub but i was thinking how one of the carriers (like the ergo maybe :dunno:) would be much easier and quicker to use. I was thinking i'd buy one but know they are a little pricey and not sure how much use i'd get out of it if i did. So then i was thinking about who i knew who i could possibly borrow one from around here and can't think of anyone who would have one and then i thought about you lovely ladies. Is it a little cheekie of me to ask for a loan of one for two weeks??? I will pay for registerd postage here and back and will look after it ever so carefully and send it back all clean and smelling beautiful :D I just know i'll be doing a lot of walking around the caravan park with the kids and a carrier would be great as i can't take the pram on the beach walks.
If it doesn't suit anyone that is fine i just thought it was worth asking as i know i'd be more than happy to do it myself if someone wanted a loan. We will be away for the last two weeks of January.
Once again i hope you all had a great day today. Talk soon xoxoxo
EJ - I would be more than happy to loan one to you if I had one :) Glad to hear there is some improvement in Harpers sleep. THat's great news.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We had a lovely day. My house is an absolute disgrace at the moment. Crap everywhere!!! DH's parents just left this morning after spending 10 days here. It was nice to have help with the kids and MIL doing my washing was great!
We had a bit of a rough night with Eden last night. I'm thinking he was over stimulated from the days events. He only had 2 x 45 minute naps during the day and just wouldn't settle to sleep at bed time. He eventually went to sleep around 10pm. I was thinking his late night might result in a morning sleep in, but no..... Still up at 4.30am.. Now I'm hoping he will catch up with some long day sleeps.
We've been taking the weaning very slow. We are still feeding twice a day, morning & night which seems to be working at the moment. He is slowly coming around to drinking cows milk. This morning, after he had had a breast feed, he stole Byrons cup of milk & finished it off. I'm guessing there was at least 100 - 150mls in there. I am now thinking I will drop the morning feed in the new year and wait another couple of weeks before dropping the night one. Not my original plan but happy to continue playing it by ear.
Well happy Boxing Day to you all.... Anyone heading to the Boxing Day sales? I went last year when Eden was only a couple of weeks old but DH isn't working today (they are striking) so we're lucky to have another family day
Hi all, and Merry Christmas!
MadB, so glad it's not WC. Sweet relief! I have been thinking about the cow's milk thing and I have to agree with you - how on earth would I get more into her than what she is having at the moment?! She's down to about 100ml of milk before bed now, with milk on her cereal, as well as cheese and yoghurt. She's very good with water now and will ask for it.
Audax, Nellie sounds so cute and clever! :shakehead: on the gifts... I know it's the thought that counts but sometimes you have to wonder if much thought has really gone into it.
EJ, so sorry to hear that A has to have surgery :( I'm sure it will be quick - a family friend's little girl had that done in the early 80s and she was fine - I'm sure technology, anaesthesia etc has come a loooong way since then. Harper sounds like she's doing so well! We only use the ergo now and I've given my baby bjorn to a friend, but I will ask around my mother's group - there's a few carrier addicts who may well be able to spare their ergo.
Georgi, I didn't go anywhere near the shops today. It was wonderful :) Looking around there is just nothing I need or want!
Hey Cathie, Jules and Charlotte :)
We had a good Christmas - busy though, with lots of driving for me (9 hours out of 36 behind the wheel) as DH's ankle is still not up to a long drive. Millie was a bit better with the trip this time but we are all sooooo allergic to Mum's cat - we have a cat here at home, but Ice is a Burmilla with extremely thick fur that is just all over the house. Thank goodness it was warm, we didn't need the fur-covered quilt Mum gave us. So Christmas Eve (Polish Christmas) with my fam - my youngest niece was very sick which was unfortunate. Spent yesterday afternoon/evening with DH's fam about 15 mins drive from home - pleasant, but exhausting as it's a very large, boisterous family. Today we went back to my in-law's place for Leftover Fest 2011. Tea and toast for dinner for us tonight...
Millie is able to stand on her own now, and lowers herself to a crouch in a really controlled way. She loves to walk but doesn't want to let go of our hands just yet. I'm fine with that :) She was utterly spoiled for Christmas, she has so many books, clothes and toys I simply don't know where to put them all. We're going to go and get a new bookshelf for the lounge room with a toybox section at the bottom. The things she loves most though is the little trike my parents gave her - it has a steering handle so we'll be able to go for walks with her in it :) She's a lucky girl, and we're very lucky to have her.
We might be going away for a couple of days, so if I don't get back here in the next few days - thank you for sharing 2011 with me - may 2012 be a happy, healthy year for you all!
xox
Georgi Christmas sounded great at your house, we too had crap everywhere. Once everyone had gone i said to DH that the place looked more trashed then with having 8 adults and 4 kids than it did when we had 50 adults and 20 kids for Harper's Birthday party. But i think that'll be it in our house for a little while, time to set the sewing table back up. Did Eden settle? Hope you guys had a relaxing boxing day :)
PP thanks for the reasurance for AA's surgery. My MIL was at an appt the other day and mentioned it to her optometrist and she said his attidtude towards it was that it's all that unheard of, easy to fix and not an issue after that. So i'm ok, i won't worry too much more until we see the surgeon in May. But like you said if they were doing the procedure back in the 80's we can be confident that they've even come further since then. Thanks for checking with your mothers group, it was just a thought that for such a short time i may be able to borrow one. I think my SIL may have a baby bjorn but i'm not sure that'll be too good for my back, Harpers not a big girl but she's got some weight on her :) If not i thought i could possibly ask here on BB?? Oh if you do get away for a few days enjoy, i hope you get some good sunny weather and lots of relaxing time as a family :)
Well DH and the boys have just left for a few days away so it's Harper Barper and i here now and i plan on having a HUGE clean out. We can not possibly need all the toys we have so i have to be ruthless and i need to not have the boys here when i do it. I did mention to them about sorting our toys and giving them to children who may not be as fortunate as us and since then all the kids that come Aidan asks if they would like to take some of our toys home  It's nice to see the generosity in him though. I'll do a bit clean out i think then save a few for the boys to help make some decisions on so they understand what we've done.
So that's it for me. Boxing day was great, i went to the shops quickly and got some doonas and underlays for the kids, i bought them some cheap ones back when i got the bunks but they won't do for winter. We then had lunch and SIL's and come home. That's Christmas over for another year!! I'm now going to turn the computer off so i have no distractions and get stuck into this job and a half. I hope everyone is happy and enjoying some family time.
Talk soon ladies :)
PP - I couldn't help but laugh at the fur covered quilt. I get bad sinus so that would've appalled me lol
EJ - Yeah he did settle. I guess he just had a bad night. You would be so proud of me... I have set up my sewing machine. I have never sewed before. Well my mum use to teach me a little when I was little, like 6 to 10 years old, but that's it. I took up wood work at school instead. So I went to spotlight and bought material & ribbon to make a patchwork taggie blanket for Eden. I was hoping to start on it this week. I did hem our new curtains as they were too long, but with MIL's help. She showed me how to thread the machine & gave me some sewing tips. It can't be that hard can it?
I spent most of the day yesterday getting my house back in order and doing stuff that I have been putting off. Feels good to get it all done. I've still got a fair bit to do this week so it'll be a busy week but at least next week I can get back to normal
Eden was very cheeky yesterday. He kept taking the balls off the christmas tree. He went to time out time after time but it didn't help! Usually it works a treat but yesterday he just wanted to do his own thing. I think he was tired as he was up at 4.45am and only slept for 40mins for his morning nap
HI ladies :hello:
Had my NT scan today was abit worried because of my age but it all seems to look fine had my bloods so have to wait till next week when i see my OB for the results...
We found out the sex It's another BOY..... yeah I know soo early you could see his little willy.
Hope everyone is well
Cathie
Hiya!
Sounds like some nice christmas stuff happening :) DS enjoyed his presents and DD enjoyed the paper. Will post some pics later.
EJ - I'd happily send you over my ergo but I'm using it sometimes still - if my mai tei happens to appear in the enxt couple of weeks I can send it, but that's unlikely. I have PMd you with another option. you could also post on here asking if anyone's got a spare one. DON'T go with the bjorn, I thin it would be hell uncomfortable at this age. go ergo, beco, manduca, olive&applesauce or something like that.... I assume you're wanting to put Harper on your back with it? A ring sling on your hip is another option.
god my house is feral. DH is off this week and trying to get teh garden sorted. will try and get it cleaned up before he's back at work. hardly seems much point though
Oh wow cathie, that's amazing. Congrats! Hope the NT stuff comes back al good
MADB - I'm still getting my house in order from the in laws being here. It should be right by Sunday.... Then the weekly cleaning begins again!
CATHIE - That's great news. We found out Byron was a boy at the 12 week scan too
Wow the second last day of 2011!!!! Any plans for us ladies? As i just wrote in another thread we are suposed to be going to visit friends and i do want to it's just that with the kids it would be so much easier to just stay home. I like knowing they are tucked up in their own beds.
DH and the boys ended up staying another night so they will be home today some time. It's been a great few days with Harper Barper. I've gotten heaps of cleaning up and sorting done and had a lot of time to snuggle and play with Harper. She's such a snuggly bub. My dad has gone away also and i've been walking to feed his dog. Even though the walk isn't that far it's a little to far to expect Aidan to walk so i'm loving the opportunity. Also been able to live on Christmas leftovers, i haven't cooked for days!!
The weather is beautiful here at the moment and it's about to get really warm. I have been able to borrow a carrier for Harper for our holiday. I'm borrowing from a lady who was in my Baby group when i had Charlie boy. So i'm really greatful of her kindness and look forward to getting some good walks in with Harper.
Georgi have you had a chance to sew. There are really simple patterns out there, i'm no expert by any means but i know a few basics. It's so satisfying when you complete something. Let me know how you go with the patchwork taggie. Nahh it's really not that hard, i'm sure you'll get the hang of sewing a few things in no time.
Yayyyy for another boy cathie although the girls are be a little out numbered in your house now. I'm so excited for you. I too hope the NT results are all what you want to hear. Now to decide on names.... any ideas yet? Or are you keeping them a secret? Happy New Year to you guys, 2012 will be another amazing year for you all :)
Thanks so much for you help with the carriers MadB, even if the baby bjorn was my last option i don't think i'd take it :) I've managed to be able to borrow a Baby Hawk Oh Snap, i'll let you now how i go with it.
Harper is sleeping, it's like i have another child. I got there with the changes i wanted to make and i'm really happy. I've managed to resettl her without a feed a couple of time now, no tears just a few noises and she laid down and went to sleep. Last night she went to bed at 7:30ish i fed her at 1:30am and she didn't wake until nearly 6am. I'm more than happy with that.
So that's it, i think she might be waking up and we might quickly head to the shops before the boys are home. I hope you all have a wonderful new year whether is being in in the comfort of your own home of visiting friends. Be safe and look forward to keeping in touch in 2012.
Might have a few seconds for personals while Hannah is distracted by the Wiggles.
EJ: That's awesome that Harper is sleeping better! How awesome!! Hannah's getting up 2-3 times a night. Last night she slept, but we're leaving her door open a bit to let the aircon through. On Monday/Tuesday nights is only going to get down to 23C, so she can't sleep in her room when it'll be that warm!! The cat won't be happy, he'll be locked in laundry.
Dammit, Wiggles aren't distracting...
Just quickly: We're going well, Hannah's doing so much! When my OB asks me if I'm exercising I'll just tell him I have a 1yo!! She keeps me flat out all day!!
Hannah's new word: Kiss... It sounds like sh.it but it's not...
Be back later!!
MadB - my house it also feral, when kevin is at home the whole routine just goes out the window for some reason.
Georgi - Everytime i went for my 12 weeks scan they kept telling me Oh it's too early to tell and this time you could tell no problem at all.
EJ - Thanks love, my poor girls for when they bring there boyfriends home with 5 brothers, heheheheheh. No names yet, boys names are sooo hard. Hopefully the NT scan will be fine will find out next week when I see my OB. Happy new year to you too. Glad harper is sleeping for you yayay.
Charlotte - Hello :hello: Happy new year
PP - Hello :hello: Happy new year
AFM - Christmas day was bloody excellent, the kids had soooo much fun. Had a yummy bake dinner at my mum's.
Morning sickness has dissapeared which is great, charlie boy is getting really cheeky he runs away from you now. He gives you a mouthfull when you take something off him and his starting to bash the other kids.
I wish all you lovely ladies a happy new year. Have a great night.
