EJ - No, haven't managed to sew anything yet. I just haven't had the time to even cut the fabric out. It's all sitting on my dining table ready to go. I'm worried if I pack it away then I will never get to it, so I'm making sure it's in sight. That's a great sleep from Harper. Good to hear all your hard work is finally paying off. I totally hear you on it being easier to stay home tonight. I'm thinking the same. We have no plans but a couple of options and I am thinking I'll just stay home. We have a 40th birthday party next Friday night then a 30th on the saturday night. Two weekends in a row might be too much for me. My party days ended many years ago lol.
CATHIE - Tee he he bash the other kids. Yes Eden sure does give it back to Byron. He loves to grab a fistful of hair and tug away. Byron ends up crying lol. Great news on the MS taking a hike. Lucky you... I had it till 26weeks with Byron & 34 weeks with Eden. It is one of the main reasons I don't want to be pregnant ever again!!

EJ I have a MT or a half-buckle you could borrow. I don't think we'd survive without the Ergo for that long though.
Georgi - I have managed a little bit of sewing over the Christmas-NY break. Made DD a New York pinny with fabric that DH brought back. It is sooooo cute, he loves it and wants to put it on her every day which just makes me beam with pride!
We have the most hideous nappy rash here at the moment. Into its 3rd week and nothing is clearing it up. DD is pointing to it and frowning and asking for cream. My heart breaks for her, it's obviously giveing her a hard time. I have a rash on my right hand that won't shift, wondering if they're connected, if it's possibly fungal. We're off to the doc's this week for 12 month check and jabs (booo! :( ) so I'll ask then. For now we're trying cornflour.
We stayed home for New Year's. In the arvo we went for a walk down to where the fireworks are, but the weather was iffy enough that we just couldn't be bothered. We decided to stay home and eat chips instead. Then we bought the chips and forgot to eat them. I did a load of washing. Nothing but fun at this house!

very quiet new year's here, as usual :) I think the last wild one I had was the night I met my now-DH.... :lol:
we cleaned the house a bit this morning... so there's something I guess. dh is back at work tomorrow. back to the real world.
yucky rash! That sucks. sounds like itm ight be fungal. hope you can get it fixed up really soon. i guess miri needs her jabs soon too.

MadB - My hubby is back to work tomorrow, I love having him home. Yeah I'll have to take Charlie in for his needles.
Any way not much happening here, the weather is great about time. The kids only have another 4 weeks off and they are back to school lily Yr1, Jack Yr5 and Alex Yr10. The twins will start preschool next year.

EJ, good luck with the clean out! I desperately want to do the same but DH doesn’t want to get rid of “baby” toys so we don’t have to buy anymore should we have another… but there again he’s not keen on giving up any of his garage space for toy storage sooo…
Oh Georgi, good luck on the taggie! How funny, I made two taggies last week, I set out to make one for a friend’s new little girl, and Millie claimed it, so I had to make another. Patchwork is a great way to get back into sewing, it’s how I got back into it. Enjoy!
Cathie, hooray for MS going away and for your little boy! I had no idea they could tell so early. Please don’t mention how little time is left til school goes back – I don’t want to know! Cool for Alex this year though – first year without the infernal School Certificate exams :)
Charlotte, Millie’s take on “shoes” sounds similar to Hannie’s “kiss”!!
Audax, sorry to hear about Nell’s rash :( Millie had appalling teething-induced nappy rash over Christmas, she was sooo uncomfortable, and because we were away she was in sposies, which never helps her at all. Mum pulled out the powdered starch (for laundry) and it cleared it up a treat. Does anyone know if it’s safe for MCNs? I haven’t had to use it since then, but just wondering…
MadB, my DH headed back to work today too. He was morose. So was Millie, she has been a total Daddy’s girl of late, it is very sweet :)
As for us, well, Millie has all four teeth across the top now, and will let go of one hand when she walks. She’s eating like a trooper now, absolutely smashing her food down. She’s biting a bit unfortunately, just me and VERY hard, but I’m hoping she’ll grow out of it. We went to the Upper Hunter for New Years – the scenery and company was brilliant, but the day spent waiting to see a doc re: DH’s infected ankle wound was not so brilliant… I grew up in rural NSW so know how stretched the health system can be, but we presented at one hospital at 11am, and ended up seeing a doc at 7.30pm. We had a few well-deserved drinks for NYE after that :)

Charlotte how does Hannah handle the heat? When it comes to sleeping in it Harper doesn't really like it.
Cathie oh yes, you can rest asured that when (and if) the girls head out on the town when their time comes they'll have pently of bodyguards :) My goodness Charlie sounds like a gorgeous cheekie little guy!!
Georgi i walk past my machine countless times a day and i'm yet to sit down at it this year :( Did you end up visiting friends or staying home for new years?
Audax thanks for the offer of a loan, i have been able to organise one which is great. I'm borrowing a baby hawk oh snap. All these different names are amazing :lol:
PP the clean out was great, i was able to sort and cull and find new homes for the christmas toys. I have a small pile to go to charity but i have a basket full of baby toys that really wont' be played with but just seem too good to get rid of. Not sure what to do there. So good to hear Millie is eating well, mine have been shocking lately. The boys have been a pain for a while now, complain about pretty much everything i dish up. The wait at the hospital sounds terrible, i hope that doesn't happen again in a hurry.
Well the new year has been good here. A hot start but in true Melbourne style thunderstorms and rain today. New Years was a good night, i enjoyed myself even though Harper slept very little and when she was asleep i held and rocked my girlfriends little one to sleep. By choice of course :D Hate to say it but our sleep has gone slithly backwards at the moment and all i can put it down to is the weather :wall: DH went back to work yesterday and god it was tough, the boys were extremely difficult at times. Harper is doing great though, i think she's a bit of a mummies girl and loves to hug. I hope that never changes :pray:
As i was saying to PP eating in our house at the moment is a pain in the backside. I'm so over cooking and waisting what i make. I really have no motivation to cook anything right now because it's never appreciated. For the last few months the boys have been exceptionally bad. They will only eat 'square pasta' which is the Latina pasta. I make it up with a sauce, meat and veg through it but they pick out the pasta and leave the rest. It really is disgusting the amount of wastage we go through. Aidan is slightly better than Charlie, Charlie will eat a couple of mouthfulls and refuse anymore. And i'm not one to force feed so if that's what he wants than that is his choice. Ahhh it's doing my head in.....
Anyway i'm off, not sure if we'll do anything today it'll depend on the kids. Maybe i could hae a few moments to sew??

argh! food wastage is so annoying. I don't mind with Miri, but Ari does my head in sometimes. I've finally convinced DH to just leave it - he used to try so hard to convince him to eat, it became this massive, great production every dinner (usually fine other meals!).
I do try to cater to him a bit, too, with vegetable options for eg - always at least 2 i know he'll eat - but otherwise I just give him a little bit and tell him he can have more if he eats it all up. He often just goes to bed without eating much -but I think those days he's generally had a big lunch anyway. He's so funny - goes on and on and on [ nothing is right with his meal], but ultimately, if he's hungry, he just eats it anyway! (after an hour of complaining of course) :lol:
That's terrible about the hospital wait PP!!!!! How's he doing?
Oh my, nearly school! Have to get Ari's school uniforms.

Hello all, just a quick one-handed note as Millie is a definite cuddle bug this morning - just wanted to let you know I got a BFP the other night! I have no idea how far along I am as my cycles are crazy - off for a blood test now and hopefully a dating scan soon :) very, very excited!!! No family knows yet but I'm so glad I can share with you :)

Cornflour is clearing up the rash really well. We're off to the doc's today and we'll check it out, see if we do still need to address it as there is one raw patch that still needs healing, but it is heaps better.
MadB - School? Really? How did that happen? :lol:

PP still so excited for you :) I wish i was able to join all you lovely ladies in having another bub, it's really not realistic for us but i don't feel like i'm done.
Audax good to hear the skin is cleaning up, we've had a few breakouts here too, nothing major but it always seems to be the same spot that ends up red and a little raw, it's almost cleared up for us now.
MadB Ari starting school!! Very exciting for him, how does he feel about it? Yes i know there is other parents out there having the same food battles and i know if you ask anyone they just say let it go... It's a stage... Ours has been going on for a month or more now and it's getting a little rediculous. What the kids will and will not eat and then WHEN they actually choose to eat them is just driving me crazy. Charlie is definatley worse than Aidan and Charlie is probably the one who could do with a little extra weight gain. Harper has been a little off her food too, last night i managed to get a few mouth fulls in which i was happy with. She had a slight temp yesterday but after some panadol she seemed to be all good and had a good nights sleep, woke up for 2 feeds i think.
Better go the kids are calling.

Congratulations PP!!! I'm so freakin excited for you!!
Not much going on here. Hannah teething (bottom teeth) and pretty sure she's coming down with a cold too. Could be the sudden weather change? 3 days of 42C and then 28C.
She got so excited yesterday. We were at my parents and my brothers were watching Dr Dolittle 2 and there's a scene where 2 rats jump out of birthday cake. Hannah bouncing and yelling CAT CAT CAT CAT!!! She was so excited. Laughing and yelling CAT.
It was hilarious!!
But then everything was a cat. The beaver, the squirrel, the bird, the wolf, the bear. She yells at my parents dog (who likes to sneak up and lick her face when no-one is watching). As soon as Hannah see her she puts her arms over her face and yells 'Holly!', or her version of it. Which is like ho-yee. Or just "dog!". Which makes the dog moe excited.
On other news, in the next 3 weeks we're going start offering money on the house we looked at nearly 6 months ago. You have to have 5% saved for 3 months. We can offer up to 102,000. Which 100,000 is our cut off anyway.
Sorry, can't write anything else. Brain is fried.

Exciting Charlotte! Good luck with the house! Ours needs soooooo much work, but we still pinch ourselves over this location.
We got needles yesterday. Booooo. DD is super grizzly today, to make things worse her dadda has flown out to Melbourne, we walked him down to the bus stop, where she was mid-grizzle until she saw a bike on the road, which perked her back up again, and she said "Bike!" So now she says bike, bus, bath, dog, dadda, truck and water. Still no mumma. Hmph.
Oh, yeah, got her weighed again finally :D 9.3kg. Pretty happy with that. And she coped so well with her needles. The Dr went out to warn a family in the waiting room, but she was really surprised with her reaction, it was a very distressed, but not loud, cry. Fixed by boob. Ol' Wondertits, they call me.
Anyway, while DH is away I'm getting up to mischief. Like not making the bed. Or doing any washing. And living off baked beans and Vegemite sandwiches (Eleanor's idea of heaven)

EJ - I know what you mean about not being done yet, But I have to look at everything. 7 kids enough, bigger car, I'm 40 and we have school fees. But I would have 10 kids if I could I just love being a mum and waching them grow. But this is our last ( Under protest ).

MadB - School this year, AH How are you going? I cried when Alex started school my baby is a big boy. Jack I didn't cry and liy i was saying thank goodness she needs it. heheheheh. I wonder what I'm going to be like with the twins I'll cry sending two off it's sad....

DS has mentioned school and how he doesn't want to go. think talking about it has made him a bit anxious. so we're not mentioning it now. It will feel very strange to leave him there! :o
Re food - one hint that has really helped me is this: It's our job to provide good food, but not our job to make them eat it. That's up to them. So yes, let it go. Much less anxiety that way.
So far Miri is a pretty good eater - the merest mention of food and she's signing desperately for food! (should see her reaction to the hungry caterpillar book) DS on the other hand.... have to ask him all the time if he's hungry or thirsty because he just doesn't think of it.

Dammit. Looks like we won't get the house. Apparently there's already offers been... offered...
We can only offer 102,000 (which the house was valued at. I know this, i'm friends with the homeowners XDH).
She's been offered 107,000 but won't go below 112,000.
So. That's that. We could see ourselves in the house and were pretty excited. So. Guess there's not much point bothering.
We were going to start offering at 95000 anyway, knowing what the house is valued at.
I'm feeling pretty gutted.
