Shell, I just rang the Family Assistance Office and did it over the phone and they were really helpful. It didn't take long either so give them a call on Monday. Just make sure you have sent in your birth registration papers before you call (or at least have them filled out and ready to send) as they need your to have sent them before they take your details. Then you need to take the form into a medicare office.

It's pouring here!! The sky was almost black before!

Had a crap night. Leon always seems to need to burp and is constantly unsettled. I'm always settling him, picking him up because he needs to burp, putting him down again, same thiing starts again. And the need to feed...don't get me started Am going to try start feeding off the right side again today...really anxious about it. I just want to get it right coz one ill attachment could just ruin it again and shatter my confidence! I've been expressing it for over a week now and I'm concerned about my supply on that side - obviously it's a lot less than the left which he's been feeding off, but I hope it catches up fine.

Sorry for selfish post, will do personals later. I'm just so worried about this feeding!!

    Morning ladies

Standard Isabel night here last night - unsettled around 4-7pm, went for a snooze around 7.30pm for about an hour, screamed for an hour, I fed her, she slept for an hour, then screamed again, finally got her down at about 11pm and she slept til 4am. That part was lovely!

It did take a bit longer than normal to settle her at the 4am feed... but when she finally went back to sleep she slept til almost 8am.

And it was the first night that I didn't wake up with weird dreams about feeding DD in bed and then going to sleep and forgetting about her... anyone else had weird dreams??

WRT the Medicare stuff... We sent off the birth registration off a while ago, like maybe two weeks? Haven't gotten anything back yet. How long did it take everyone else? The Medicare form, we filled in the form online to get the claim number and sent it off just last week. How long should it take to process??

AJP - how good is the rain?? Woot.

Ali - you are doing really well. Its so hard, I know, I was just talking to DH about it - about not knowing what's wrong and how to fix it. Sometimes its just easier to stick them on the boob! You're going great!

Hi to everyone else!! Isabel needs a feed so bbl...

Holly- Good luck, take some deep breaths and see how it goes. Maybe try when he is not so hungry cause I find attaching when they are flinging their head around alot harder.

OP- Our birth certificate took just over week to come back. I don't think I have any dreams, well that I remember anyway just way too tired!

    hey girls
typing with my little man zzz on my shoulder- soo cute
medicare etc- got the form from hossy- it had to be signed and stamped by OB and hossy. Filled it out and took it to medicare office a week after he was born. Filled in birth certificate forms at same time. Also had to ring family assistance to update my details- it was easy as i am allready a 'customer'. Got first payment from baby bonus last week $384 buck approx. Got medicare card 10 days after lodging and birth certificate around the same time. By going into medicare to lodge it they gave me a temp card so i had something if i needed it. A woman from our health insurance came into the hossy and signed levi up- got the card about 3 week later- so with all that- he is officially ours and registered!!

love family assistance office- now get extra $160 for having a 3rd child and also get a larger family payment- WTF- 3 Kids is considered a big family- i will take it! It pays to reproduce in oz!!!

DH off all day/nite at the concert- so just me and the kids today- going to the shops now - get out or get claustraphobic! LOL

Levi sleeping pretty good - fed at 12.45, 3.45 and 6.45 and then again at 8.30. sounds like alot to be waken but hey after the twins this is pretty cool!!!! My twins were insane. Fed 3 hourly around the clock- it would take me over an 90 mins to feed them, around 45 mins to express for next feed and the had 75 mins till next feed! and that was till they were 6 months old!!!!
It does get easier girls the sleep depriviation!!! It just such a shock to your body to start with- lol i can function quite normally now on 2 hours sleep - scary!!!
My best tips for handling the sleep deprivation is to ensure that you have a really good mulit-vitamin, drink heaps of water and ummm chocolate!!!! No seriously keep your sugar levels as good as they could be- sugar levels all over the place on top of tiredness are a receipe for a disaster!!! Keep plenty of healthy snacks in the cupboard so you can quickly grab them on the run!!!

mwah to all and have a good weekend!!

Oooo I wonder if DH would let me come to Melbourne for a catch up lol! And some shopping!!!! Don't know how Anika would go flying from Perth to Melbourne just yet?

Had a great night last night...DH slept downstairs to catch up on some sleep...at me request as he's been a bit of a zombie and have friends coming over today and need him to the 'host' while I look after Anika. This morning however has been a different story!!! 3 power feeds in a row all just over an hour apart...and now finally sleeping...ahhhhh...my poor boobies! Holly ...I hear you hun!!! Just remember to breath!!!

Hi girls, well i seem to have got feeding back on track this arvo. Mum and dad came over at lunch, made me something to eat and I even managed to wash my hair and blow dry it. OH its a nice feeling. Such a luxury now. They took DD for her first walk in the pram which put her to sleep. I think they loved it as much as she did.

Our feeding after our marathon morning has been 11:30, 2:30, 5:30. Lets hope it stays 4 hourly through the night.

Having mum and dad here today really helped me to understand that it is okay not to go to her as soon as she makes a noise. SHe can wait another 5 minutes before i go to her. She is doing so many poos. They are fluro orange!! i think her chord stump is going to fall out soon.

Wish i was in melbourne so i could meet up with you girls.

Ellie- i have been telling dp to sleep in spare rppm as well. there is no point us both being exhausted and he is still working 2 jobs.

OP- i hear you on the bizzarre dreams, maybe we re having them because we are in such light sleep mode which is when dreams happen. We dont get to sleep long enough to have deep sleep!! SOunds like Isabel is sleeping really well after hose screaming sessions.

Nai and Det- thanks for the info about forms, etc. I will call up to answer questions on the phone. I have filled out birth registration so I wills end that off in the post tomorrow or Monday.

Jols- Way to go on the jeans!!!! I havent tried yet but my belly isn;t sticking out much anymore but it is soft and jelly like. I think because my boobs have grown so much it looks like my stomach is smaller!!! THey have settled down today, not as lumpy. My mum went out and got me a couple of maternit bras in a bigger size and they are super comfy. I did the shower thing and that helped heaps as well.

Holly- :Lhug: your night sounded like mine! I am finding that burping seems to wake her up to much. Hoping we have a better night tonight.

We are going out tonight when DP gets home, just to some family friends house. My parents are already there. It will be our first outing. I just packed the nappy bag to make sure everything was in there.

OH I need another tip from you girls, I am finding that my nipples stiuck to my breast pads and then it hurts to unstick them, any suggestions as to how not to stick or on some brands on breast pads that you dont get this with?
