Hi all - well it seems that DD1 is on the mend. She only vomited once but was then running a high temp all day and wet her pants, which she never does, so she was definitely not well. It could have been a 24hr bug. The rest of us seem ok so fingers crossed!

Haha Det - I have you fooled :P It was lovely to meet you too -hope I can meet more of you in the not too distant future!

Laura hope the ab's are working.

Df is in bad mood today and starting to give me the ****s.

Nai- Glad to hear she is on the mend and it was only 24hr thing.

Det- Hope Levi had good night, I'm dreading the vacs, hate seeing them so upset with it, first one they're surprised, second upset and by the 3rd they're really upset! I have probs with sugars too, mainly lunchtime cause I find by time I feed Ash and Em its getting well into arvo and I'm feeling really dizzy and that horrible low sugar feeling.

Holly- Hows it going holding out between feeds? I try too to hold at least 2.5hrs just so she not on boob all day.

Meg- How is everything going with you? Is E settling at all?

Still regular 3hr wake ups here overnight, its practically exact to the hour too.
Not enjoying this whole BFing I think cause I just feel thats all I'm doing, I know it'll get better but right now I'm just really not enjoying it at all, seeing it more like a chore.

AJP - not my best angle :lol:

I have had a cr@p couple of days :( DD1 is over her sickness but we went shopping today and the trolley fell off the footpath with her in it as I wasn't watching it properly - fortunately she was just scared and not hurt but it could have been bad. I feel like such a bad mum!

J has the worst hormonal rash and looks like she has really bad acne and now she has a nasty nappy rash. It's just one spot but it looks like it's burnt. She must have done a poo that burnt her bottom overnight. It looks really sore and she cries when she does a wee as it must hurt the rash. I also think that she is chucking more if I drink milk so I'm going to have to cut back on dairy I think. The days where I have my big glass of aktavite seem to make her more chucky.

Holly, if the chiro is working I might give that a go with J - I was thinking of seeing an osteo but not sure which would be better.

SJ, I think green is still normal as long as it isn't "frothy" but baby poo can range from mustard to brown to green and still be ok.

Det, my hormone levels were all over the place with DD1 but I think they are a bit better this time although I do get the night sweats still. I'm not craving chocolate as much as I did - however this hasn't actually stopped me eating it if it's in the house ;)

millie had a hormone rash, looked like pimples, that went now she has another rash, not pimply just red dots on the lower half of her face and upper chest.
hope J's bum gets better soon too.

millie had a huge sleep last night, slept the best part of 15 hours :o woke for 2.5 feeds in that time.
went 6hrs then 4hrs then 4 hrs then fell asleep again at swimming

Ellie- Oh what a great sleep for anika! If only it was like that every night. DD has slept well the last 2 nights and I'm feeling pretty good, wonder how long it will last.
OP- Don't worry IKWYM, I get so frustrated and angry when I just can't settle DD then feel guilty for feeling that way, she's just a little baby :( Yay about the jeans! I need some new ones but I'm scared I'll just have flabby tummy hanging over the front. lol.
laura- :( not good about the mastitis, I hope it clears up quickly.
tarkine- Thanks for that info!! lol, it's probably too much chocolate. Wow 2km, that's impressive.
shell- :( sorry you're not getting much sleep. Maybe she has her days and nights mixed up. I was told to take DD out in the sun in the mornings to reset her clock! Seems to work.
Holly- I think it's the flow being too fast too, esp on the right side that I was only feeding her off for a week when I had the crack in the left. She's feeding better today though, yay! How is stretching feeds out going?? It would be hard!
det- poor levi, I hope he feels better now! Yep, she poos everytime she wakes up!! lol. Apparently the green is normal, phew. So I won't worry anymore. Pretty gross. I am drinking so much water too!! Can't get enough.
Ali- How are you going today?

Jols- What a great sleep!! Hope you're feeling better after that!

Well DD has been feeding better today, phew. Has been feeding more frequently today too, every 2 hrs instead of 3. Has slept well for the last 2 nights, hope she keeps it up! And I mastered BF lying down last night. Couldn't get the hang of it before and she wouldn't attach properly but gave it another go last night and she has worked it out! Then she drifted off to sleep next to me, was so cute, except I woke up to a slap in the face, haha.

Shell - Naps are awesome. I hope you get one everyday when your DF is on holidays so you can catch up a little.
Nai - glad to hear DD is on the mend and it doesn't seem to have spread to the rest of the family. Don't feel like a bad mum :hug: accidents happen and it might have happened even if you had been watching for that second or two it came off the path.
Heaven - not sure about the green poo here either. Have they changed back to yellow yet? Mr. J has a poo every feed/nappy change and some feeds I have to change him twice :o He is constantly going! My recovery seems to be going ok - thanks for asking. I feel much better/more mobile this week but still can't walk long distances. My belly was hurting last night but we'd had a big day with lots going on so I'm having a quiet one today. How is your recovery going? I find it really frustrating that I can't drive. Not being able to hang washing on the line is kind of good though :lol: Yay for feeding lying down!
OP - How do you feel about using a dummy? I was not keen but Mr. J is a pretty 'sucky' baby and he was doing the same thing - coming off a long feed and crying because the boob was no longer in his mouth. We don't use the dummy much and he spits it out once he's asleep anyway. Also, the sucking can apparently help if the problem is wind.
Laura - sorry to hear you've got mastitis mate. Hope those ABs kicked in and you're having a good time at your party!!!
Tarkine - I'm glad you're still posting in here and with a sense of humour!! Was starting to get a little worried about how you were travelling. Take care of yourself as well as Alex.
Holly - Hope the chiro helps things for you and Leon.
AJP - Whoohoo on the big sleeps!! Mr. J has gone 5 hours between feeds a few times in the past couple of days - so 3.5-4hour sleeps. It's good but then I worry that he won't keep my milk supply high enough :rolleyes:

AFM - Hmmm...well I started this post at 11am. Hi and sorry to anyone I have missed. It has been a good day, but just busy. With the hormone rash you are all talking about - are they white spots, called milk spots on the nose? Mr. J had them at birth - apparently I gave them to him via hormones? They're still there. I thought I'd be the one with acne afterwards but we both ended up with rashes instead!

Quick question - does anyone know why you can't drive for 6 weeks after a C-section? What is the reasoning there?

I have been reading Baby Love by Robin Barker on and off. It has some good info about sleep and what is "normal" between 3-12 weeks of age. Will try to get back on and quote some of it later. We're turning everything off for Earth Hour soon. Hope you're all having restful, peaceful, sleepy evenings girls :)

Kaz- I loved baby love, read it heaps after I had Ash, I just like it cause she doesn't tell you how you should do things but just offers suggestions. Yeah Em has those white milk spots as they're called. Gets better than gets worse again.

Heaven- Yeah we do get out most days into the sun and fresh air and during day if at home she sleeps next to the window just wants to feed 3hrly day and night, tho in the day might be shorter. I need to learn the lying down feeding, could never work out how to do it comfortably.

AJP- Aahh I am jealous!

Nai- Don't feel bad, accidents always happen with toddlers! Its inevitable.

Theres Em crying again, another booby time I think, every evening is booby time, think she'd be on there constant if I let her.

Kaz, the hormone rash looks like teenager acne and comes in around 5-6weeks. It's not pretty. The 6 weeks is for insurance mainly but as you have had your abdominal muscles cut you don't have the core strength to brake suddenly to avoid an accident if required. Only 1 more week and I can drive again - yay! Have been walking heaps though - did 6km on Thursday.

Got to run - will be offline for Earth Hour!!

6km Nai! Bloody hell, I get exhausted after 1 or 2! I am trying to walk more tho I really need to get fitter just tiredness doens't help.

Ok so it was 3km to the cafe and 3km home - I did stop for a couple of hours in the middle and had lunch and a chat with the BB girls so I did sort of exaggerate a little...

Nai - you have put me to shame bragging about my 2km. Have you tried lactose free milk or soy or rice milk as a substitute? Ohh I missed earth hour - darn clean forgot it was on or off.

Kaz - I didn't know we weren't supposed to drive for 6 weeks (whoops)... I was told by the midwife that they split the stomach muscles down the middle, rather than cut them. I've been driving and doing all sorts of things that I probably should not have been doing. **shuffling around looking awkward** I think the whole "I've had a c-section and can't do it" wore off with DH after about the first week. Although considering the number of operations he's had, I should have milked it more - wonder if it will work now?

You girls are right, Nai is pretty darn nice, and I haven't met her.

I ordered a baby that slept through the night and I got one that is really ansy when I put him down, won't sleep for longer than 2hrs at nighttime (except for rare occassions) and now has started to complain at co-sleeping. Just wondering who got my order??

AFM - Alex is still being a little pooper - restless at night, cranky during the day except when I'm holding him - expecting to be fed everytime he gets upset, so nothing changed here - think I'll go and look for my order now!

My name is Alice and my son was born 11 days early on Jan 25th 2009 weighing 8lb 8oz.
I have two older daughters aged 5 and 3 who are absolutely gorgeous.
My second daughter had lactose and dairy intolerance from birth and now it seems my son also has lactose intolerance.
I have tried to substitute at around 6 weeks with lacteeze drops (which worked with my daughter for 4 and a half months yet only with below average weight gain) and also tried to substitute with s-26 LF formula after feeds since his weight gain was only 15gm in 10 days. It is hard to have it happen to me twice yet you have no other option but deal with it. I recently had to stop breast feeding altogether since he would not want to feed since he was in so much severe pain and would suck for between 5 seconds to 3 mins max before extreme crying even with constnt perseverance he would no relatch at all and was happiest when on the bottle.
I would like to encourage any moms out there that if this may unfortunately happen to them that placing you baby on formula is definately fine since my daughter who turns 4 on the 24th of July blossomed and developed excellently even though she was put on a fully soy based formula. (ie. she walked at 9 months, talked like a maniac and has progressed at and above average development.)

Tarkine, DD1 didn't sleep through for about 7months. Since then shr has never woken in the night unless she is sick and that would be very rare. So even if they don't sleep now, you may reap the rewards later down the track - hang in there :hug:

Hi girls, sorry i havent posted, just been lurking around. i am typing one handed. DP is not working today but he is out doing running around jobs :( which still leaves me by myself :(

I am coping well being a mum and love my baby girl and puppy dogs to bits but i am so lonely...i dont want other people around. the one person i do want here is never here :(

Having a bit of a teary morning, just overtired and exhausted, had bad night, if Em doesn't poo every nappy then she gets very upset and tummy pains, so she didn't poo for 3 nappies and spent alot night crying then of course at 8am does giant poo and has slept really well while I had to get up and start the day! I know things get better but so over the constant feeding settling at the moment, feels like most of the day is taken up by it and poor Ash always has to wait to get seen to.

Ali- :hug: Its hard when partners aren't around you feel like your doing it all alone and worry about them missing out. I wish there was some way around it for you.

Tarkine- Just take each day at a time. I think they lost my order too! Hopefully you find something that will work to help settle him more, just try everything, you never know what will end up helping.

Ali - sorry your DP isn't there more. There's no other substitute really is there? I am dreading when my DP goes back to work but at least he'll be around in the evenings when Mr. J is at his more ferral.
Tarkine - :) at your lost order! I am kind of happy with my order but he is damaging the mother hardware a little atm! I didn't get much info on c-section aftercare at hossy either - basically one middy saying "you know what you can't do don't you? no driving, lifting, reaching above your head, bending or twisting". I was like - that pretty much covers everything doesn't it? :rolleyes: Apparently we should be doing exercises as well - esp. pelvic floor ones which I didn't know until the other day.
Shell - I hope you get a better nights sleep tonight darl! Sleep deprivation is the worst.
AJP - Hey! whoohoo for eating dinner in peace. Still getting it organised here tonight! I found a zit on my forehead today too. Was very unhappy because I think I already have enough skin dramas going on without acne too!
Nai - thanks for that. I never thought about the insurance angle or braking thing. We've recently bought a new car and I hardly drove it before having Mr. J so will definitely wait until I'm all healed before getting behind the wheel. Yay on only having a week to go! That's awesome.

AFM - Has been a really full on day here and I feel a bit overwhelmed. Been teary a few times. Had friends drop round which was nice but chaotic as they have their own kids and Mr. J was unsettled. I have started expressing the left side this afternoon. The "ringbark" only seems to be healing on one side of that nipple and the other side was getting better but is back to being really painful most feeds, especially when he fusses which he tends to do on the left. There are now little red spots in the opening so it's time to rest it for a day and see what happens.

Just feels like there's one thing after another right now. Mr. J and I have thrush (which I never had before) so I have rash cream and nipple gel and he has bum cream and oral liquid stuff and it all needs to go on or in 4 times a day so between feeding him, feeding me, applying all the creams and gels and now expressing it's all a bit much. Really needed to get out of the house this afternoon for a walk but then the friends dropped in and as they left Mr. J needed a feed and then I had to express and then it was dark! Maybe tomorrow.........

Seems like we've all had busy days today. Not many posts. I hope you're all doing ok girls! This can't last forever. :hug:

Kaz- sounds like the day for much needed hugs! I hope you get out of the house tomor, will do you good, its amazing tho how quickly the day can go sometimes, esp with all those extra things you need to do!

AJP- Yay on peaceful dinner, whats that? Lol.

Got our 4 weeks MCHN appt tomor, Em looks fatter to me so we'll see her weight gain.
Started her bedtime routine tonight in hopes it'll get her to sleep better, including a nice lavender massage.

Kaz - :grouphug: Hun if you can just get out into the garden, it makes a HUGE difference to your day. When A is really restless and I'm feeling ARGH I try and walk out to the garden (get DP to take a chair out there for you) and just get some sunshine on your face.

AJP - I think A has settled a bit more today (ohh really hope I don't jinx myself with that statement).

AFM - doing ok. Got out today to the shops for a quick trip with A in the capsule - didn't bother with the pram. DS seems more settled today, but last night I was over it and really had to pull myself out of bed to start the day. Had a nap this afternoon for as long as I needed (no idea how long it was). DH was on bub duty and DS ended up sleeping in his arms. I find I feel much better if I can have a relaxed shower, eat at least one meal a day with two hands and have enough sleep and have been outside (even if for 5 minutes) - that's my definition of a good day. A great day is when I get some exercise in.

Tarkine - I like the way you are keeping things simple, taking one day at a time, finding pleasure in simple things. I think that's really important. Today I cleaned the floor, first time since bubs, DH has been doing it. The fact that I could find the time to mop the floor felt really good.

Oh and I hear you on the shower thing. I feel so much better after a shower.

Laura - I think that means you had your 21st???? Awesome! You looked hot :D

Shell - GL at the 4wk check. We've got our 6wk one tomorrow - must be the day for it. We're attempting a bedtime routine too - not working out so well yet.

AFM - 6wk check tomorrow with MCHN, then 6wk check with Obs on Tues. 6 weekers all round.

Isabel has had two good days - after our rotten night Thursday, she has been sleeping really well during the day and pretty well at night. We had a big day yesterday - a housewarming followed by 30th birthday. She was fantastic - slept lots, didn't grizzle much. Last night she went down at about 12.30am, then slept til about 5.30am. So that was great.

Today has been much the same - she's been waking, feeding, sleeping quite well. But this evening she has been very unsettled... just in time for DH to get home from the Grand Prix, all tired and sun burned and not really wanting to deal with grizzly baby.

She's cried since about 9pm... is now in the bouncer, seems quite happy there. But not in cradle. Sigh!

We're trying so hard to encourage her to be a good sleeper - I've been putting her down while still awake and happy, telling her its time for sleeping, wrapping her tightly, leaving her to go to sleep herself, without needing to be held. Its hard though - sometimes she cries and I have to try and ignore it... for a bit anyway.

Wish me luck getting her down tonight...

Kaz- Well, now sometimes it's green, sometimes yellow, lol. IKWYM DD poops at least once everytime she wakes up, sometimes more!! I always think she's finished and change her and we have another explosion, lol, it's never ending. Good to hear you're feeling better, I'm about a week ahead of you and I can tell you I feel HEAPS better this week, normal now. So not long to go now! I am so glad DH was there when the m/w told me no hanging washing on the line for 6 wks :rofl: The not driving thing is for insurance, so if you ring ur insurance company and they say you can drive before then you can if you feel up to it! Oh you sound just like me, I had to express off the left side for a week to heal up the crack :( But good news, it's all better now and I can use them both with no pain! lol. She's still better at attaching on the right though. It seems lots of ppl have troubles with one boob more than the other, and often the left, weird!
Shell- With the lying down feeding I think before I was lying too much on my side and my bbs were too big and squishing into the matress too much so I had to lean back a bit, lol. Maybe that will help? Sorry you had a bad day yesterday, I hope you're feeling better today and had a better night! Good luck at ur appt today!
Nai- omg 6km, wonder woman!
tarkine- :rofl: I think I may have got your order. Last night DD was an angel. Slept from 8-12 and then 12-4 then up at 6.30 but there was basically no resettling time for once. She just fed back to sleep. I don't know what was going on but I wish it was that easy every night!!
Ali- :hug: I'm sorry you are feeling lonely :( I spose you've already looked at all the options, is there no way that DH can be home more?? Wish you lived in Brissy! I need some mummy friends!

OP- I try to get DD to go to sleep by herself but it never works, lol, she just lies there staring around and then gets over tired.

AFM- Feeding still going well, phew. Had a great night last night only had to wake to feed and she didn't need resettling, amazing, she just fell asleep on the boob. DH is taking friday off this week so I have a long weekend with him and we're going to the coast to visit family. Haven't been anywhere really yet, hope it's not to stressful!! But it will be good to get out!

AFM - yesterday Miss J rolled over!!! From her tummy to back - she did it 3 times and we got it on film - am I allowed to post a link???
Also got her granuloma treated this morning. They put the silver nitrate on it - it looks a bit ick now so I hope this gets rid of it. If not I have to go back and they will do it again.

Well girls, I have just discovered that DD likes to sleep so much more if she is on her side. I know you arent supposed to because of SIDS risk but she has such strong neck muscles and I think I am only going to let her sleep like this during the day when I can monitor more what is going on. Still finding it difficult to accept that I am using a dummy as well to settle her, I dont want to end up relying on it and like you said Heaven in my other thread, DP's family are anti-dummies. I spoke to my mum about it and she said thaqt we used them up until about 12months old and then she just cuts the ends of them so it wasnt the same to suck anymore and we lost interest in it.

I was so angry and sad with DP last night. He had lots of jobs to do on his one day off for the week but had promised me some family time....wellI call him as he had been gone for ages and I was loosing it at home and he was at a mates watching the formula one!!! GRRRRRR! I was so upset. He tried to make it up to me this morning and said that he would mind DD so I could go and have some time out of the house by myslef if I wanted (which I took advantage of), he still knows how upset I am about it.

Nai- :hooray: for DD2 rolling over!!! I cant believe how clever she is! Is that young to be doing tha. How is DD1 going? IS she all over her bug that she had?
Heaven- How lovely that you are going to have a long weekend away together as a little family of three! How gorgeous. One thin I noticed about going out is how much longer it takes to get organised! I knew it would take longer but I have only ever been used to just getting myslef organised. Its amazing how much a little person needs and requires to get organised and out the door. It will be great for you to have DH there to help and build your confidence.
OP- sounds like Isabel likes being a social butterfly! :) The sleep thing is so hard to get sorted. I have done so many things that I thought I would never do. I feel rather niave (sp?) but I guess it is one of those jobs that is learn as you go. I am going to get that book "The contended baby" (or something like that). Apparently it has good sleep routines and works quite well. Have onl heard good stories about it.
Tarkine- Good to hear you are doing better. I find if I need to take the pram to the shops I am better off walking (lucky I am not that far). I find it a bit of a nightmare getting organised with getting the pram set up (my pram is so BIG) and then DD sorted and then the return trip back to the car. I guess with practise I will get better. I like your definitions of a good and a great day! I can relate!!
Laura- Great that we are friends on facebook now :) I hope that Nath does something lovely for your birthday tomorrow. Anyone else who wants to be my friend on facebook can send me their details or i"ll send you mine via PM. It is nice having somewhere else to chat in the event that BB's server is down.
Shell- How did Em go with her weight gain today? Hope the appointment went well. I need to make an appointemtn for this week.

Ali - interesting about DD sleeping on her side! Have not tried that with Isabel. I think as long as you're around it should be fine. That's really cr@ppy about DH disappearing to watch the GP. I was a bit annoyed at my DH yest as he actually went to the GP, then came home all grumpy and tired and was really short with Isabel. Like hello - I have had her all day, just because you've been out and are tired doesn't mean you can't help when you get home!

Nai - wow at little Miss J rolling over! She is very advanced :D That's great! Isabel wriggles but no rolling yet... Hope the granuloma heals up ok.

SJ - sounds like a great night last night! And yay for your weekend away this weekend and have DH there for a long weekend. Sounds fantastic.

AFM - finally settled Isabel last night at about midnight. Got to bed about 12.30am, woke at 6am going "Why hasn't Isabel woken yet?" and went to check she was still ok! She was fine - and then proceeded to sleep until almost 7am :o

6hrs sleep and I feel like a new woman. I don't know if it is the 6wk milestone thing - but everything seems to be getting easier, feeding is faster, she sleeps better during the day and at a night and is more alert and interactive. She still has unsettled periods but these are outweighed by the good periods :D

Busy day for us today. Isabel and I went to an Aust Breastfeeding Assoc meeting this morning, was there til lunch time, then went to the local shopping centre and then to the MCHN for six week check.

Isabel has stacked on more weight - another 472g! She is now 5.23kg and 59cm long. This puts her on the 90th percentile for both! Woot!

Sorry haven't posted much and might not for a while...just too tired and all over the place. I've been lurking a bit though. Once I get the energy to post I find that I've missed so much and it's hard to catch up and I don't want all my posts to be all me me me! HA like this one...

Tracey, I don't know you but I just wanted to say that Milana is beautiful and she looks so peaceful in that photo - brought tears to my eyes.

Anyway, I hope everyone is going well and bubs are settling in nicely. I'll try and catch up properly tomorrow.

Hi all, we had a better night last night, hopefully same tonight. Maybe its the lovely lavender massage she gets. Em has done well weight wise, worked out to be an average of 32g a day she has gained.

Tracey- she is gorgeous, thanks for sharing, I am thinking of you and hope you are all doing ok.

Laura- Looks like you made it to yr party! Cute pic.

Tarkine- Try get naps in when ever you can. Your right about getting outside, I feel so much better getting fresh air.

OP- Em won't settle herself either, I wait til she is really sleepy then pat her to try go off to sleep, sometimes works, in the evenings nothing works for long we have to carry her round to settle. Don't worry too much about it at this early stage they'll get there eventually.

Heaven- Yr weekend away sounds nice hopefully will be relaxing, prolly do you all good to get away.

Nai- Yay on rolling, Em is nearly there, tries to roll to her right, never tries the other way tho.

Ali- I can understand you being upset. Men somtimes can be inconsideret without meaning to, he prolly just felt he needed some him time without thinking about you needing some quality family time.
We put Em on her side alot but I put her more towards her back and her arm out so she won't roll onto her tummy. if that makes any sense. She sleeps so much better that way. And don't worry bout DPs family, you need to do whatever you need to do to get thru each day. Whatever works I say.

Holly- Hi. post whenevr you have the energy, hope all is ok and things settle down for you.

Lol I've missed alot desperate housewives writing this post. Em is asleep on my legs. If I lie or sit in bed with my knees bent she sits back in there and I rock my legs and she goes off tgo sleep. Not overly comfortable tho and very hard to type on laptop!

Hi! I am around. I jsut went and spent Thursday night at mums. Then she aksed me if I wanted to go t the beach house with her, so I did. DH met us there. We had a great time.
Got home yest,
I have a fair bit to catch up on, and I will later.
J is still being SUPER clingy. Just dropped him at childcare with him in tears. He also woke up crying last night.
It breaks my heart seeing him upset

Evening ladies and bubs,

"Woe is me" post... went to the Obs for my 6wk check, she checked out my epi and is very happy with how it has healed, but I have other issues down there... I can't remember what the Obs called them but it is apparently due to "over healing" - I have these little pink lumps, which caused the funny smell I had noticed.

Apparently very common, nothing to worry about. But she had to burn them off with a chemical cauterising stick thing... which hurt. :(

So now I am sore, again. And to make matters worse, she says no DTD for another week.

DH is very upset by this. I know it sounds ridiculous to some of you who aren't even thinking about sex but its really important for DH - something we've discussed over and over and he's really struggling. Sigh.

Guess I'll have to make an effort to be extra affectionate for the next week...

Meg - a stay at a beach house sounds divine! glad you had a good time.
OP - That sucks about you "over healing" - I'm sorry your pain has returned and for you and your DH's frustration. :hug:
SJ - How did you express for a week darl? A day and a half did my head in and had me in tears and panicing about not being able to get anything done except feed him, express and then turn around for the next feed!! You deserve a medal mate!!

AFM - Quick question - a few pages back some of you were talking about your bubs who were crying while feeding - so sucking and crying at the same time and jumping on and off the breast all the time. We've had three out of the last 6 feeds like that here today and Mr. J was doing it yesterday in the evening as well - does anyone know why they do it? It didn't seem to be wind and he eventually settles during the feed - usually on the second side. At first yesterday I was worried it was some type of nipple confusion because we'd been giving him half of his feeds from a bottle while I was expressing for 24 hours but he has fed really well since then and is agitated on both sides at times. He is making my fragile left nipple quite sore again! How long does it last?

Kaz- Em still does it and I've found its one of 3 things, a) pain, if I burp her for awhile or bounce her on my lap for awhile she'll feed better, b) If shes been on there awhile and feeding really well I think its cause she has drained it and getting frustrated cause usually then she'll take the other side fine, and c) if she is comfort feeding as she does in evenings she does it cause I think she is full and too much is giving her tummy ache. Its just what I've found since she started doing it so now I can sort of figure out quickly what the problem is.

OP- Sorry to hear bout probs down there, maybe extra cuddles, always other things you can do besides sex. Sex is last thing on my mind! I'm sure the next week will fly by quickly.

Meg- Good to hear from you, beach house sounds great. Hope J settles soon, I'm sure he will. Just hard for you at the moment.

Nothing new here, Em actually settled in bouncer so making most of it. Decided we're gonna try bottle formula tonight and hope she sleeps little bit longer, I need sleep!
